Temperature in mens locker room

The LA Fitness Gym that I go to, 7640 W. Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ 85033, has not responded to my requests and requests from several others who attend this club with regards to the temperature in the mens locker room. It has been very cold in there for last couple of months. There is no reason for this. The temperature could be at least set for 75 degrees, but it is not has not been adjuxted since the filing of complaints to the guy at the ront desk upon entry into the gym. The last time I brought it up, i wa informed that the temperature for the gym is not controlled on site, that it is controlled some where else. I know from talking to others who attend other locations of LA Fitness, that the mens room lockers there are not even close to being as cold as this one is.

poor cust service

My daughter was going to get me a membership to my local club here in Pa. Since she lives in California she called and tried to arrange a membership for my xmas present by phone. She said the person on the phone was a complete airhead and was unable to answer questions and really had no input for her. As a result she hung up and said forget it. I will never approach this place and seeing the latest reviews on here, now I see why I will avoid this place.

Crown Valley Pkwy Bad Service

The manager at the newly opened LA fitness in Mission Viejo/Crown Valley is very rude and impresonal. He sits at the reception desk. Does not greet you. He just takes your membership ID, scans it, and says nothing. No hello, how are you or any type of engagement. I only keep LA fitness because I'm grandfathered in from my previous gym and my dues are very cheap. Regardless, his service an demeanor is terrible!

Bad servicing

La fitness in fontana has the tendency to leave there equipment broken for over a month everytime something messes up. The worst complaint i have is on the sauna beeing out of service. First they say they had just fixed it. When the truth is that for the past month it has been broken .i ask the employees and they say the are waiting on the parts every time i ask them. Other employees say that its because people break it . Truth is i dont care who breaks it i am a paying customer and it is a big inconvenience for me to travel to another gym that has it working. The paying customers dont need another excuse all we want is for the gym to be in running order.

I love everything about my LA Fittness gym in Mesa, AZ except the fact that the restrooms and the locker room floors are filthy. I have pointed this out several times to the managers and they say they will take care of it, but they don't. This is a fairly new gym and it is really going down hill.

Orlando Waterford Lakes

The Orlando Waterford Lakes site has a women working in the men's locker room during operating hours. The manager's response is that there is a lack of staff and that there should be a sign to warn the men. The men that I spoke with in the locker room are shocked and some have complained. To date, there have been no changes to the policy.

Member

There is no customer service and they are more interested in gaining membership than in servicing existing members. see below Yesterday. Saturday 1/5/13 I went to my local club (Glendora) to play racquetball and reserve a court for next saturday. Now for the past 60 days I have been attempting to reserve a court from 8 AM to 10 AM and all of the courts are always reserved at 9 AM. When I went in yesterday at 7:30 I again attempted to reserve a court (1 week ahead as I have been directed to do by club staff) and all of the courts were reserved for the following Saturday at 9 AM. I then asked if anyone had called in to reserve the courts this morning and was told no. I then asked if anyone had come in to reserve the courts this morning and again I was told no one had come in to reserve any courts as of my showing up at the gym. I then asked how can all of the courts be reserved if no one had called in and no one had visited the club to reserve the courts. I was just met with stares. Maybe you can answer this question and I have had no success (and apparently no one is interested in finding out the answer or correcting the issue), how do I reserve a court for Saturday Mornings from 8 AM to 10 AM? I look forward to hearing back from you.

LA FITNESS HORRIBLE

I was a happy member of Urban Active fitness in Lexington KY until LA Fitness bought the gym. After that I dropped my membership. The gym went completely down hill. The gym was absolutely filthy after they took over. Urban active kept it clean and LAF was pathetic!!!

Changes to the gym

I have been With Urban Active gym in Columbus for 5 years. The staff and the facility were and are nice. Since your company has acquired the facility I have seen a big decline in the atmosphere of the staff. Today, I read that your company will not accept the Silver Sneakers program. This will add to the atmosphere at your facility. LA Fitness (Urban Active), at Graceland, Columbus Ohio is located and is surrounded by a great neighborhood with a large senior base. It would be really sad to see this store close due to loss of membership of both young and old. I think that large companies like yours, could offer programs through work, health care and to the private sector. Positive PR goes a long way.

Poor management

In the Downey location, there is poor management because there's numerous of things that I have a complaint about. First, the employee that opens on Sundays is ALWAYS late (10-15 minutes); second, there's never paper towels available for me to clean the machines; thirdly, several machines are always out of order and I see the maintenance walking around and doing nothing; the restrooms and the facility is never clean where there's trash left on the floor in the restrooms; obviously L.A. fitness is doing a poor job in hiring the right management because I see numerous of complaints. They need to make a change fast. It was better when it was Bally's Fitness.

broken equipment

I attend the LA fitness in goodlettsville tn. The customer service stinks and the manager needs to be replaced. The projector in the cardio room is broken. It has been broken for 4+ weeks. The hot water has been out for 2+ weeks so u can't take a shower. Now that is nasty. And several of the machine have been broken over 3 months. We are paying our fees we should have better equipment and better customer service. It seems to me that a lot of the facilities are experiencing the same problems. Can anyone say better business bureau!!

more stupid service cuts!

LA Fitness has again found a way to cut into member's benefits. Why has Corporate decide to open clubs late on December 24th and 31st? These days, in 2012, are working days - they're NOT HOLIDAYS! Even if these dates are non-working days, members should be able to use the club regular hours in the mornings. Closing earlier makes more sense. Opening at 8am instead of 5am on these days before Christmas and New Year's Eve activities make NO SENSE!!! Now that it has a monoply in WA state and elsewhere - the cutbacks are worse than ever: from club hours, club cleanliness, to lack of soap and disgusting shower curtains!!!.

horrible location

Your La Habra location (beach&imperial hwy) is horrible. The staff never greets anyone, your machines are left dirty and sweaty, and your restrooms are horrible. Floors are always wet, and there are always paper towels and tissue everywhere. Your weights are hardly re-rack. Within the 5-7 years of going to this location, I have only been greeted 3-5 times. If you don't care about customer care/service, you should by a fingerprint scanner or another device so members can scan themselves in...basically same thing. If I didn't have a great deal (multiple signs-up in the past) I would have left your company a long time ago.

Total Lack of Customer Service

I went to the Grandview location this afternoon. Shortly after arriving I asked two employees, one at the front desk and a sales counselor, if one tv upstairs could be turned to the Browns games. Both were very quick to say no. They told me that all tvs had to be on the "urban channel". The sales counselor told me that I could watch on a tredmill in the cardio area. I told them that didnt help because I was lifting not running. Then they blew me off as if my request was totally outragous. I went back to my workout, very clearly dissatisfied with the outcome. When I went back upstairs I noticed that 2 tvs were on espn. 3 on espn2 and 3 not even turned on. After rushing through my workout to get home in time for the second half, I told the girl at the desk that, and she said "oh, we could have changed one of those tvs. We didnt know which ones you were talking about." Are you kidding me? The worst part is neither of them was with another customer and no one was waiting to be helped. They both had time to honor my request but were totally unwilling to even try.

Poor club

I belong to the La Fitness on 6th & Pearl Tacoma Wash. The racquet ball court has been out of service for 3 weeks for a broken lit latch. Seems it takes corporate approval for a lift, yikes 3 weeks, the local mgr says nothing can be done at the local level. Other things are in need of repair and its the same old story nothing gets done. They sure want you sign up for trainers new members etc. but when things need repaired nothing gets done.

Pool

12/13/12 The pool cleaners arrived when I was in the pool this morning. I don't know what they did, but a cloud of chlorine or something came over the pool. It was so strong that breathing was very difficult (nearly impossible) my breathing passage burned, my lungs burned and my eyes burned. There were two of us in the poll at the time and both experienced the same burning. Others that were going in and out of the sauna experienced the same. When we asked the cleaners what what caused this the had no idea. Local management seemed somewhat uninteresed.

Denied access benefits

Judging from the reviews of the facilities LA Fitness may have done me a favor. The problem is: I had a contracted "life-time" membership with Bally's Sports and Fitness Club. It is negotiable paper, but when LA Fitness bought out Bally's it refused to acknowledge my membership AT ALL. Typically, any contracts under obligation by the entity that sells, conveys to the new owner. At least the Bally's clubs were very clean and esthetically pleasing. I have heard nothing but negative comments about the cleanliness of LA Fitness. Maybe they will have to honor some aspects of my contract after some extensive reviews. Too bad that we can't give a minus rating. A "1" is too high a rating.

Appalled

I work for the DOD on Navy Base Guam and am appalled by the lack of service. I visited friends in PA to play racquetball for one day and they charged me a weekly fee ever sense. I live in Guam. There is no club here. The nearest one would be a 25 hour plane ride. Apparently their worker gave me a contract instead of a one day pass. It was abundantly clear that I and my friends who are members asked for a one day pass. The company agreed to refund approximate 60.00 instead of the 200. The understood the circumstances and gave me half the blame. So much for understanding the folks who serve our country overseas.

LAF AVONDALE,ARIZONA

I took time to do an earlier comment and our kind suggestions and you did not even post our remarks. This GYM SMELLS AND HAS TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT.YOU WANT THE LAF FITNESS customer PAYMENTS, BUT DON'T KNOW HOW TO TAKE CARE OF A FACILITY.The desk personnel don't even say hello or good day and the facility has some real problems with personnel selected and repairs take forever to get completed.Customers are beginning to talk about finding other gyms who listen to their clients. SMELL THE COFFEE AND WAKE UP!!!!!!

I am appalled at the policy to charge an active military person home on leave $30.00 for 5 days of working out at the Hilliard, OH store. My son is home for 6 days and since he is a former member of what was Golds, then Urban Active, he doesn't qualify for a free pass. The policy is ridiculous. There shouldn't be any charge for him. Your policy absolutely needs review and adjustment for active military personnel.
