Aqua Fit Classes

I go to Avondale AZ. location 2-3 times a wk. for aquafit classes & cannot understand why the water can be so nice & warm on a Sat. morning & yet tonite, Tues it's very cold! They say it is the same temperture but it is not by a long shot, very, very dissappointing since I have arthritis & did not enjoy the class tontite whatsoever. Very good instructor I might add but got nothing out of it.

Poor facilities & Poor Customer Service

I am currently very disappointed with the facilities and service at the LA Fitness in South Arlington, Texas. The swimsuit spinner in the ladies locker room broke and has not -we have been told WILL NOT - be replaced. The lower bench in the sauna came off the wall more than two weeks ago and has not been fixed. It is just lying on the floor causing members to step over it as they attempt to climb to the upper bench. There was extreme dissatisfaction over the Tuesday/Thursday water instructor so they did add a new Wednesday class, but they have not been able to hire/keep a permanent instructor for months!!!!! Now the pool has been closed for more than a week and is going to be closed for another week. When asked if there was anything that could be done to compensate for a 1/2 month of inconvenience and loss use, I was told by facility manager, Allison Miller, that corporate policy is to never accommodate a member for closed/unusable/missing equipment/facilities. I was further told she would stand by this policy even if it meant losing a family membership that has been in effect for about 5 years. Poor facilities and poor customer service is a rapid way make that loss a reality!

Extremely Poor Customer Service

La Fitness at 119th and Marshfield in Chicago, IL Their customer service is the absolute worst that I have ever encountered anywhere. I have never gotten a satisfactory answer to any question that I asked. They tell you one thing today and next week it does not apply. It seems that the rules apply as situations happens. I can not see them being there much longer unless they put in place new trained managers, staff, etc. I joined six months ago and have been dissapointed the pass four months. I just cancelled my membership today. This facility was convienent but I was not happy.

Dirty Gyms

Good Afternoon: I'm writing to you to express some dissatisfaction I'm having with the Bloomfield Hills gym. It has been disgusting lately! For awhile, they didn't have a janitor during peak hours, so paper towels, cleaning supplies, etc..were all out, and the garbage was overflowing. I told the front desk people that the cleaner was out, and their response was, "We don't have a night time cleaning person right now". I think that's unacceptable. The front desk staff or manager should be responsible for that stuff at that point. It can't just go without. Now that they do have someone there, this is still a problem! Numerous stations were empty last night of paper towel and hand sanitizer. This is flu season! This is very unsanitary. Also, it's been unseasonably warm in MI, and it was humid and hot in the gym last night. The gym needs to make adjustments with the weather and turn the air conditioning on during days like these. My friend had to go outside and puke because it was so muggy in there. I could barely last an hour in the gym. I pay $34.95 a month. There are numerous other gyms in my area that are cheaper. I joined here because the vast array of machines, and the pool/sauna area. But these current conditions are unsatisfactory. I cannot believe that a multimillion dollar company is being ran so poorly. The Planet Fitness by me is spotless in comparison. LA Fitness is so dirty in comparison. Don't even get me started on the restroom conditions. If these issues are not addressed within the next month, I will be cancelling my membership. The gym is supposed to be a place to find peace and tranquility. I cannot even stomach this place! Please address these issues accordingly,

Horrible facility

The facility Tradition square, Port Saint Lucie,Florida has to be the dirtiest, most unproffesional workout facility in the state. Many of my friends have dropped out because of this. You should do a surprise visit or undercover to see how bad. People get in for free, when I pay almost $35 a month. The sauna is always broke and the bench has been broken for 3-4 months and is filthy. We have went to the manager several times and all they do is smile and say ok. PLease PLease PLease do a surprise visit and maybe my freinds will sign back up if these things are fixed. If not, you will loose another member.

Joined LA Fitness 2 years ago in Bolingbrook, IL and was satisfied for the most part until about 6 months ago when customer service started to rude at best. Just today I looked in my checking account only to find that they were still automatically deducting my account for personal training AFTER my time of duration was complete. Called the club to get the personal training manager who told me they would make sure it does not happen again. I responded with a question about how to refund this large sum of money that they wrongfully withdrew from my account. He then repeated with, "I will make sure this does not happen again." So needless to say, I will be taling with the operations manager tomorrow. Customer service at this location has been declining since the summer months. Perhaps LA Fitness employees would benefit from some customer service training.....I would suggest they adopt some of Disney World's customer service initiatives before more and more people overlook the slightly higher fees to join Lifetime Fitness. I am so disappointed at the way I am treated and would not recommend LA Fitness to anyone.

Poor management

LA Fitness purchased Lifestyles Family Fitness and it has been all downhill. The club operations manager is rude and has no customer service skills. The staff only has excuses. The water was broken for two days. They said they needed to use the LA Fitness plumber from Miami. No one is empowered to take action. The place is filthy. There is three inches of dirt on the fans.

Getting Ready to Close????

The LA Fitness is South Windsor, CT has been without hot water for 9 straight days and is undoubtedly the dirtiest of the 5 gyms I've belonged to. A downstairs treadmill has been broken for over a month, bathroom sinks continuously break and take FOREVER to get repaired, locker rooms are disgustiing. I

Very poor service

I joined in Pasadena MD just under a year ago, First 6 months club had trouble keeping Soap in anything, TP in any stall. Staffing is poor, all sit around!! Hot tub down for 3 months, Ask one staffer, maybe manager, I was told she just found out about the hot tub!! Again today parts still on order, now no heat in the pool. Only get parts on order, or storm Sandy make pool guys to busy to fix. I called the higher up that works in Crofton MD last week. She said she just heard about the hot tub!! Her response parts are on order!!

Can't Get Worse

My experience with LA Fitness has been below expectation since I joined a little over a year ago. My observations is the lack of professionalism demonstrated by your team/staff, customer service, and training. During the time that I have been a member (I go to the one on Alicia parkway) I have had 4 trainers and I’m not the one at fault. I’m not sure if it’s because the pay is bad or they are treated badly, I do know that it is very frustrating and time consuming on my part I pay to be trained not to have get a trainer that I have never met and who does not know my weakness’ and strengths and have to start all over. When ever a trainer leaves they just put you with whomever they feel like you come into train and there is a new face I feel that is unprofessional. Just because a person works in Physical therapist office does not make them a good trainer! I have been lied to since day one all the things that were promised to new members never materialized ie…bags, more classes…etc and when I asked about these things I got the run around if I didn’t already pay for this membership and the gym wasn’t so close to the house I would leave. We as members should not have to follow trainers and staff all over Orange County. I have had poor customer service in every way when it comes to dealing with this company. If whoever's reading this that comes from the uppers doesn’t care and take all of this into consideration then I really don't know what else to say. Thank you for reading. I know one person doesn’t make a difference but word of mouth is a powerful tool and believe me I intend on using it.

Pool is not regulated properly

I swim at the Somerdale, NJ pool at LA Fitness. I went there this weekend, Nov. 18, and the pool was too hot. It was 90 degrees. I asked at the desk and the attendants said they weren't permitted to turn off the heat. There was something wrong with the way the heat was regulated, and no one would come out until Monday to fix it. That is ridiculous. We rely on the pool being available for use on the weekend. They could have gotten a manager or someone from another local LA Fitness to come and shut the heat off. What a waste of energy. It was very unhealthy to swim in those conditions.

My experience with LA Fitness has been below expectation since the major buy out of the eastern, western, and southern hemisphere Bally's Gym Clubs. My observations and prior experience of LA Fitness club reflects on the same lack of professionalism demonstrated by your team/staff, customer service, and training. Some of the staff has even shared they have not received any proper training for the position. I am appalled by the inundated mistakes made with payments and the lack of trust by the staff you very much entrusted your managerial staff to hire. In addition to it is taking an extensive amount of time on repairs (several lockers at this particular are badly damaged, but have yet to be repaired) although the issues have been reported many times more than once within a weeks time span. LA Fitness needs to ship into shape our ship out.

I am a personal trainer at an LA Fitness Club and to be honest, I completely agree with every single writing that I have read from members on this page. It's sad when a member or members are discusted with the kind of treatment they have received or in most cases, have not received. I have seen, heard, and been told about the disrespect and uncourtesy of staff at not just my location, but many as well. The facts are; there is no proper training for new hires whether it's in sales and/or training and/or management. I have been working for the company roughly a year now and I am just now finding out things I should have been told or learned about when I was hired. This is the first time I have read so many angry writings about the company and how the customer service is horrific in many different aspects, whether it's at an actual gym or calling the corporate number. I literally am writing this myself not just because I have read most of these on this page and agree even though I am an employee, but for the fact I simply was trying to look up a number myself to find out what my hire date was for personal reasons.. and when I tried calling the number above for corporate it said not in service or whatever. It's quite rediculous if you ask me, and again I'm an employee. If there is someone from corporate reading this seriously take into consideration what all of these people have written on here and take a good look at where this company is going. This company talks about customer service and how they will provide it when needed, yet it's completely the opposite because I have seen it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears. I speak not only for myself, but for the members who are customers and for the employees, people who are also affected by all of this. Even myself as an employee/personal trainer has had poor customer service in every way when it comes to dealing with this company. If whoever's reading this that comes from the uppers doesnt care and take all of this into consideration then I really don't know what else to say. Thankyou for reading. I have been going to your gym with no problems. This particular day I decide to go to the gym with my brother who has a life time membership and your people will not let me in without paying since I belong to another LA Fitness. But if I was guest I could come in without paying. I do not make this a practice, but this one time I did not have to be so rudly taken care of by your attendant Julio who insidently would not reveal his last name. I would think LA fitness would like their continual revenue rather than an upset client. I am seriously thinking about cancelling my membership and going some where more user friendly.

I go to Cape Coral location in Florida. They can not keep instructors, because they do not pay them enough for their hard work. We are 40 people are going to quit. They have too many people at front desk, too many managers who do nothing, but they canceled Zymba class, that everybody likes!!!!!!!!! Huge mismanagement, waste of our money. Place is not dirty, but we need Zymba instructors!!! Another location on Alico Rd is hanging loose too. Same thing. Waste money on front desk, managers and will not add another $ to instructors pay.

The South Elgin illinois LA Fitness is one of the dirtiest clubs I have ever been associated with. It is not the members responsiblity to clean and disenfect the pads. I have had 2 bouts with ring worm from this pig Sty. Too much focus on sales and not enough on cleanliness. From the above posts this is a common problem you would think someone at corp would get it and get on top of it. Wow very unimpressed. Get someone to put the weights away also. We all know that the members who should put their own weights away dont always that means the staff should.

the la fitness on 78th in Vancouver washington is very dirty, very smelly and the staff is not helpful

I go to la fitness 1501 N. tustin ave. in Santa Ana CA their showers are very dirty. I am tempted to call the health dept.

Incredible!

In my opinion,the la fitness in countryside Illinois is one of the worst when it comes to sanitary conditions. The steam room has mold everywhere,hair on the shower floor that has NOT been cleaned for days on end. And a green water whirlpool.Not much more you can say.
