The LA FITNESS IN HIALEAH,FL IS TERRIBLE, THEY THREW OUT THE BEST ZUMBA TEACHER BECAUSE THIER TOO CHEAP TO PAY HIS HARD WORK. HE WAS THROWN OUT VERY RUDELY AND THERE WAS OVER 30 GIRLS PROTESTING FOR HIM TO STAY... IF THEY DONT PUT HIM BACK IM SERIOUSLY CONSIDERING CANCELLING MY ACCOUNT AND I WANT MY MONEY IN RETURN BECAUSE I PAY TO GET MY CLASSES AS SCHEDULED AND THE ZUMBA CLASS WAS NOT PERFORMED ON MONDAY AT 5:45 AS SCHEDULED. It horrible how many people go to his specific class and the amount of money all of us paid to subscribe and for LA Fitness not to want to pay him for the amount of clientele he is bringing in.

Very disappointed in both Bally and LA Fitness. I've been a member of bally since 1999. Just paid $250 in October to continue membership for another year. Then LA Fitness tells me my membership expired in November! What happened to the $250?? LAF says it's not their problem because the money was collected prior to their acquisition. And Bally is impossible to reach. I thought our active memberships were to continue without interruption? Anybody else in a similar situation?

Guess everyone missed this on the web, where LAFitness indicated they would service existing memberships of Bally's clients, this was on the web Sat, but not on Sun, luckily I made a copy. If they are honoring some memberships, but not all, this is discrimination. As for the LAFitness in Willow Grove, PA, make sure you have all your shots before joining, never know what you're going to walk out with. Also, don't use the pool, as many times this pool has been fixed, it still leaks, creating a sink hole.

On Thursday, December 1, 2011 I walked into the Bally's in Voorhees, NJ and read a hand written note on the door that this facility would be closing on 12/8/11. Gathered around the front desk were a group of people asking questions about their membership. On November 30, 2010 LA Fitness paid $153 million to aquire 171 Bally's locations. The LA Fitness representative recommended everyone go to an LA Fitness location that they would want as primary and the staff there would be able to find "your name" in the data base, and explain the transfer of membership. I headed to the Mt. Laurel, NJ location and was informed my name was not in the computer. I explained that in 1984 I had purchased a Lifetime Gold Membership with no renewal fees at the Depford, NJ location for $3,000. The staff person went to the LA Fitness website provided for staff and this was written, "We did not purchase these - we don't accept them, they are not in our data base. What he could offer me was a 3 year contract for $680 and a renewal fee every year after for $210, or $99 registration and $30 per month. This deal that Bally's did with LA Fitness is not acceptable. It has left people like myself and many others with a one way ticket to no where. When I got in my car I said to self, nothing like having to bend over and take it up the wazoo. My complaint is for brand new L.A fitness in HIALEAH,FlORIDA... these place is the worst place to go... Thy constantly are cancelling classes without notice, the kids klub is the WORST place to leave your child... only 2 ladies working there with a 45 kids .. ARE THEY OUT OF THE MIND?? childrens constantly walks away for the kids klub ( to the machine areas) (looking for the parents) and NO water dispenser for those thirsty KIDS... and the emergency (FIRE) DOOR OPENS EASILY.. I SAW A KIDS OPENED AND WALK OUTSIDE TO A VERY TRAFFIC STREET.... THAT'S VERY DANGEROUS ... AND THE ONLY 2 LADIES THERE ARE BUSY WITH THE OTHER 44 KIDS.... PARENTS IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILD DONT LEAVE THEM IN THAT PLACE......

I too was excited that La Fitness acquired my Ballys. Over the years the club was run down and Bally's was looking for a new location with more modern features. An La rep was at our gym for the transtion and states that the AGREEMENT they bought from Bally's doren't include Lifetime members.When are dues are up we pay ongoing rate..I'm no lawyer but to me an agreement is same a a contract.This has happened to me 3 times over the years..First it was Holiday Health Spa-next Jack LaLanne and finally Bally's..Each time court ruled in our favor..THE LA FITNESS REP IS SAYING HE'LL GIVE US A DISCOUNTED MONTHLY RATE----IF-----WE SIGN AWAY OUR LIFETIME MEMBERSHIPS... I WOIULD WAIT FOR OUTCOME IN COURTS I'M SURE WE'RE HEADED FOR ANOTHER CLASS ACTION SUIT ......................

LA Fitness should be ashamed with how they are handling their recent purchase of Bally's. How is it now viewed as stealing when you tell customers who payed in full for three years and only received 2 that they memberships are void -- but you can "upgrade" to LA fitness's membership; of course at a steep price on top of what the customers already paid for their multi-year memberships. Shameful and crooked. I hope there is a legitimate class action lawsuit.

I am with the Bally Life Members. I was also told that they will not honor my conditional lifetime membership and if I do not upgrade by December 31st, my fees would icrease even more. Likewise, the urinals had paper in all 3 when I went Sunday (today) and there were no paper towels. The staff told me that they could not print out the screen quoting it was a Internal memo screen!!! I proceeded to ask for a Hard Copy which they claim that had none! The aquisition from Ballys is horrible, in my opinion. The Lifetimers are really getting Sc_ _ _ _ d!

I was a bally member and now LA fitness are promoting false promotion, I was told that if I pay $199 deposit and then for life long I have to pay only $19.99 for each family member, when I said can i read the contract, the manager said I can read the contract once I sign and after I signed I got a printout of the contract. The contract said the rate is good only for 3 years. I see every time you talk to them they have new promotion each day, Its like operating a panzi scheme. Better evry one use only prepaid credit card.

.......BUT NOT IN LA Fitness! It really is sad! The most unprofessional staff and gym I have ever walked into in my life! The other day I was watching them sign new memembers up and when they left the guys were laughing and talking about they just ripped them off! Yes right there in public! Those guys working there think they are real smart and slick! Sadly enough and by own unknowing stupidity I am a member of that LA Fitness. Not for long! I am going to cancel my credit card so they can't charge it anymore. Let them chase me for whatever I still owe. Good luck on that! I can not and will not be be apart of LA Fitness, the most unprofessional un cleanest gym I have ever seen!

Sorry to say I just joined LA fitness a few weeks ago. Extremely disappointed is putting mildly. I joined the the LA fitness in NE Phila. PA . I have worked out in many many different types of gyms in many different cites and states. I have been working for a long time so I should know what's what, so to speak. I can honestly tell you this gym is a total mess. Every aspect of it! The dumbbells and plates are most of the time left all over the floor. No one puts them back On the racks and one cares either. The place is the dirtest uncleanest gym I have ever been to in my life. Belive it or not the trash cans over flow. There are paper towels thrown on the floor along with water bottles all over the place. The locker room Is filthy! Discussing! And if that's not enought, no Staff members clean any of the machines. Guess what no one really cares! Sure I complained! What a joke! I did speak to the one and only janitor that works during the day. It's not his fault. He is ONE person, how can he alone clean a gym That, and as a sales guy put it, thousands go throw on a daily basis. He can't! It's not possible! The place is HUGE! I am Just so pissed off! And as some of the staff put it! " What can we do, it's not our fault!" it's so freakin sad! And guess what NO one cares! Well guess what I do! One thing I will Tell you! Everyday I have to pay this membership they will hear from me. Day in and out! NO DOUBT!!!! Because I care! Because I matter!

Yeah....LA fitness bought atleast part of Ballys.....my membership at ballys is one that I can use all over the country. Now LA fitness does not want to honor that. I am being told that I have to be a member at a single location....or, I have to 'upgrade' my membership. They bought my membership, they should honor the contract!.....I am getting conflicting information from different people, both at Bally's and at LA Fitness.....now they don't appear to be answering their phones....

MANY BALLY'S MEMBERS ARE BEING MISLED TO BELIEVE LA FITNESS WILL COME IN AND "CLEAN UP THEIR CLUBS." THIS IS ONLY TEMPORARY, THEN THE CLEANLINESS WILL DECLINE RAPIDLY. PLEASE READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS FORUM, AND MANY OTHER SITES. If you are a current Bally member, be ready for even worse problems. The very same problems that caused the downfall of Bally's are being repeated by LA Fitness, only sevenfold. It's the same scenario, different company. Only now you have LA Fitness acquiring all the contracts, and Bally's has no liability for them. Do you understand? Bally's members, take this advice, find a new club other than LA Fitness.

LA Fitness just bought out Bally's Fitness and now will not honor my lifetime contract that I had with Bally's which is also a thief.I thing your better off paying cash or just don't sign up with these Fitness centers. Do not trust these companies they look good and promise things don't give them your credit card or bank account information. Use a prepaid credit card or cash if need be. Better off working out at home. Buyers be careful.

Tired of poor customer service at BAYSHORE LA FITNESS, GLENDALE,Wisconsin....This location has bad customer service and pool/tot tub issues. The pool and hot tub was out of service for 3 months this summer 2011 and now down again going on 1 month. Front desk do not greet you when you come into the gym. VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I am looking forward to LA Fitness coming in to Ballys Waterford and hopefully cleaning the joint up. I hope they keep this location too! This facility has long been treated like a red headed stephchild with antiquated and broken equipment. Ballys keeps emailing surveys which I repeatedly tell them what needs to be done to make this facility more efficeient and hopefully a new company will take a fresh look at this popular location with a good core of die hard regulars like myself.

My report is for the facitity in Cincinnati, Ohio on Marburg Ave. I agree with all of the above. LA Fitness seemed very professional when we joined, BUT, now that we have been members for 7 months, we are very disappointed. If you are only going there to use the machinery - you will probably have no problem. I go for the Aquafit since I have a problem with joint pain, artheritis (sp?), and leg and back nerve problems. The doctor recommended water exercise. It is great, however, LA Fitness can't seem to keep the water regulated to the temperature (83 deg) they claim in their literature. Sometimes the water is so cold you can't even go into the pool and our class is cancelled. No one at the facility will take any ownership of the problem. Either the manager is not there or we are told lies whenever we ask about the problem. This has been going on for several months. The whirlpool is also on the "fritz" more than it is working. Good luck trying to report the problem to higher management - they don't care!

I am a member of Bally's. When I heard that LA Fitness was buying out Bally's I was so excited. At Bally's it's filthy. The workers have bad attitudes. You cannot ever count on the gym opening on time. In the past 1 year I personally have witnessed 6 different times when the gym opened up 2 to 3 hours late. You plan your whole day around working out only to go to the gym and not be able to get in. Bally's never took any drastic measures against the manager for this. Like I said in the beginning of this blog I was excited. Now after reading the comments. I think it is time to find another gym:(
