I am extremely disappointed in your Personal Training sales tactics/team at the East Boca location. First they set you up for a free training session with someone that cannot be your trainer, so you have a great session only to find out now you have to start all over again with a new trainer! Then they trick you into signing up as they focus on using terms like "Personal Training Session" or saying they will get you really great discounted sessions (which both my husband and myself could've sworn we were initially told were an hour long, but definitely know we were never told it was 25 minutes) for a 12 month contract, only to steer you away from the fact that you are really paying for only 25 minutes with the trainer. The entire time you are led to believe that you are going to get quality training for an hour according to your budget, while really it's broken up into 5 minutes of warm up time-on your own, 25 minutes of training, and then 30 minutes of cardio-on your own. So basically I could've found someone at the gym that I wanted to work out with on my own for cheaper, since I'm working out by myself more than the trainer! I feel disgusted that I let the excitement of getting in shape at a great price and endorphins from a session with a trainer I enjoyed, steer me from the fine print. I feel sick that what I thought would be a great, 2 days a week with hr long sessions of training turns out to not even an hr a week of training! I definitely won't be recommending LA Fitness' Personal Training Sales Staff-Alan, and can't encourage anyone reading this to read the fine print carefully before doing anything!!
I was a member at the LA Fitness in Dallas, at Skillman/Walnut Hill Lane. On my first day, about two hours after having become a member the following occured: I was in the locker room getting ready to leave, my pants were hanging on the locker door and I was in the mirror getting something out of my eye.I heard a soft noise behing me. When I looked my pants were on the floor and an obese Black teenager was standing over my pants. I walked over and asked him what he was doing. He mumbled something about leaving, and started walking out. I picked up my pants and my wallet was gone. As I was trying to get my pants on I looked out the door and told a nearby staff member, named Brandon to stop that fellow because he had my wallet. I quickly went out of the locker room and saw Brandon talking to this teenager as the culprit stood against the wall in the exercise area. I told Brandon what had occurred, then I told the thief to give me my wallet now before things got worse. The teenager reached in his back pocket and pulled out my wallet. He said he was going to turn it in at the front desk. The head guy there (Iforget his name)told me the criminal would be delt with; and i told them if he just had his membership terminated that would be enough for me. When I went outside the security guard told me that that teenager was a known thief and had a bad reputation. OK. Several weeks later I found out that the teenager still had his membership and was attending regularly. I decided I did not want to attend LA Fitness there anymore, so I stopped going. I called corporate headquarters and found out that nothing had been done; no incident report no nothing, and the person on the phone was challenging my version of events despite her own staff member being an eyewitness! Anyway, I lost about six weeks where I had paid and would not attend in the future; the lady at corporate head said you will lose

This is at lafitness location at yorba linda California. DO not deal with Mr. Corvin who is a operations manager. he is thug and a liar.Even Mr.Adrean D. who is a ¡Fitness Sales manager is same kind of a person. They can change thr stories like they change their diapers.
I am writing this review because I want to tell you about Macy who works at the LA Fitness on Winchester in Temecula, California. Macy is very friendly, kind, considerate and helpful. Macy greats members with the most wonderful smile and makes you feel as if she has known you for years. With the capabilities Macy exhibits she certainly would be a candidate for a job with the United Nations. I have never experienced anyone who is a such a wonderful example of representing a company. LA Fitness is very fortunate to have Macy working for them.
Thieves. (and Zero stars. The new manager in Philadelphia on Walnut st. refused to give me the name/contact info of who she quoted as to why I could not receive my money back (I have an injury and Dr note) and my quarterly payment was taken out just 1 day before I had to cancel my membership due too this injury. AND I paid upfront, when I signed with Bally's for my last 30 days- which of course I can't use due to the injury. So they stuck it to me at both ends. For less than 2 months' membership I've paid over $100. And that is for the $9.95 biweekly membership. Nice huh? I understand if the manager, Shanan, wouldn't/couldn't make a refund but to tell me, in a snotty voice, that "I'm not giving you anyone's name at HQ to contact" Then you call the 800 number and never get a human. I was happy with Bally's A pox on LA Fitness.
I TOO WAS RIPPED OFF. I SIGNED A ONE YEAR RENEWAL WITH BALLY IN MAY 2011. THEY RENEWED MY MEMBERSHIP UNDER A CLUB IN OHIO THAT HAS NOT BEEN IN EXISTENCE FOR OVER 10 YEARS. WHEN LA FITNESS BOUGHT OUT BALLY IN GEORGIA, MY MEMBERSHIP WAS NOWHERE TO BE FOUND. BALLY STATES THAT LA FITNESS BOUGHT IT, LA FITNESS STATES THAT THEY DID NOT BUY IT BECAUSE NO RECORD OF MY ACCOUNT EXISTS. THE PHONE REPRESENTATIVES ARE RUDE, RUDE, RUDE AND I'VE BEEN GOING AROUND AND AROUND WITH THIS FOR ALMOST A MONTH. SHAMEFUL!!!!!
Does anyone know who Jeff Levy is? Where is he and what is his profession? We want to verify his identity through a reliable third party before proceeding. For all we know he could be a made-up name for a manager at LA Fitness. If I was a sleezy slimeball of a company, I would probably try that trick too. I'm just sayin'...
Help! My Bally's club in Glendora closed down. I loved my Zumba teacher, Ruby, and I'm trying to find other places where she teaches. Can anybody out there help me find Ruby. I had so much fun in her class. She is awesome. Please contact me on my e-mail cynmac23@hotmail.com if you know any information. Thank you.
THERE IS A VERY GOOD CHANCE THAT JEFF LEVY AND MANY OF THE OTHER NAMES ON THE LAFITNESSSUIT OR BALLYSUIT FORUM ARE EMPLOYEES OF ONE OR BOTH OF THE COMPANIES. THEY MAY ALSO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE BUYOUT IN SOME WAY. JEFF LEVY'S POSITION CHANGES ABRUPTLY IN ABOUT MID DECEMBER. SUDDENLY HE STATES, "THIS PAGE IS COMING DOWN" AND WE'VE REACHED AN AGREEMENT WITH LA FITNESS. THIS IS DECEPTIVE AND MISLEADING, WHEREBY, THE MAJORITY OF BALLY MEMBERS HAVE LOST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS, AND ARE DUE REFUNDS. THIS HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED, NOR HAS IT BEEN ADDRESSED. THIS FORUM ONLY STATES THAT MEMBERS ARE GIVEN ACCESS. THIS MEANS NOTHING. THEY HAD ACCESS BEFORE THE BUYOUT. ANYONE WHO HAS SIGNED A NEW CONTRACT HAS BEEN SCAMMED. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. NO KEYPAD, CONTRACT, NOTHING. THE SEEMING PURPOSE OF THE FORUM CREATED FOR MEMBERS IS TO MANIPULATE AND PURSUADE THEM INTO SIGNING NEW CONTRACTS. THIS IS DECEPTIVE, AND MISLEADING. SEVERAL MEMBERS HAVE POSTED SIMILAR OPINIONS, INCLUDING ONE TODAY 12/29/2011, STATING THAT SOMEONE SOUNDS LIKE THEY ARE PROTECTING THE COMPANY'S INTEREST. JANUARY 1, 2012 IS COMING SOON. LET'S SEE WHAT HAPPENS THEN...MORE FALLOUT.
Just a response to Debby K. who wrote a review on 12/26/11. Reading contracts is important. However, the thousands of reviews on this and other sites demonstrate that the LA FITNESS facilities are poorly maintained, and staff are rude with constant and ongoing problems with the amenities, pool is cold and dirty, mold, broken equipment, lockers, theft, fraud. Why would you want to be a part of that? With the sale of Bally's to LA Fitness, now there is overcrowding, hoarding members in classes where the instructor doesn't even show up. Guess what Debby K., this is same scenario that caused Bally's to file for bankruptcy twice. Of course, along with bally's former CEO committing securities fruad for years, that didn't help either. LA FITNESS IS A FRAUD SCAM! All their services are a fraud, or set out to scam members. If you think that's bad, wait until you see how they treat their employees. Another nightmare, for another forum. I would recommend any other fitness chain besides la fitness. Their scam is unravelling.
Yes you do get what you pay for. PlanetFitness etc has gyms that cost $10-$15 per month but only have machines and weights. LA has these plus classes, pool, sauna, and whirlpool. I joined for $35 (plus tax) per month but can only use one club. Perfect for me and 98% of others out there. Go on their website and review all the different types of memberships. Educate yourself. Then go in and tell them what you want and will pay. Forget the crap about processing fees- don't pay any. Then be sure to read the entire contract before you sign. Ask to take it home to read and then return it either to sign or tear up. They won't let you? Ask for a copy of a blank one. Still no? Make them sit there while you read everything.. and ask questions to be sure you understand what you read. If you sign, get your copy and go home and re-read it so you understand it. You have 3 days to cancel. If you do, send the letter to corporate headquarters and get "proof of delivery". Give a copy to the local gym you signed up in. Keep a copy for yourself. It's extremely important to read all the print- back of the form as well as front. Do not let them distract you or say it's not important. Most people have been taken advantage of because they were charged for things they did not know about or were not told about. This happens when you don't read the contract.

as a member of a different club I was invited to play at LA in Farmingdale Long Island was very suprised to find how poorly it was run the locker room is not cleas with broken lockers hanging off the hinges ,,,,there have been many thefts and loss of property there the Suna should be closed due to health reasons looking like it has not been cleaned in months , mold everywhere .
What is LAF doing in Portland with the Bally's take over? Crazy that 30-50 people attend step classes there 3-5 times a week and they have cancelled classes. Last Saturday 35 people showed up for a regularly scheduled class that was cancelled without notice. Great instructors are leaving and the members are right behind them. What a mess. I've belonged there 18 years when it was Nautilus, Golds Gym, and Bally's. All these changes were seamless and respectful of the members. This one is a huge mistake. It's hard to believe they could make this club worse but they have. LAF makes Bally's leadership look like genius management. If LAF management reads this they can find me in their membership files as I am an LAF member in Seattle where it appears to be an entirely different company.
THE CAPTIONED SITE WILL TAKE YOU TO A PAGE REDIRECTED TO BALLYSUIT.COM. THERE YOU WILL FIND A FORUM TO VOICE COMPLAINTS OR CONCERNS. RECENTLY, THIS FORUM AND IT MODERATORS ANNOUNCED THAT LA FITNESS HAD "REVERESED COURSE" ON HONORING MEMBERSHIPS. THIS IS COMPLETELY FALSE. ONLY BALLY MEMBERS WHO RELUCTANTLY SIGNED AN LA FITNESS CONTRACT AND ARE NOW SUBJECT TO HIGHER RATES AND DUES, CANCELLED THEIR ORIGINAL CONTRACT. BY DOING SO, THEY HAVE LOST ALL THEIR RIGHTS TO ANY FURTHER ACTION. SO MANY MEMBERS ARE ALREADY VOICING THAT WHEN THEY SIGNED A KEYPAD, THE STAFF PERSON GAVE THEM A NEW MEMBERSHIP ALONG WITH THE KEY TAG. THIS IS COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. THE FORUM STATES THAT JEFF LEVY HAVE GAVE SO MUCH TIME, AND REFUSED PAYMENT FOR ANY OF IT. YET, HE WAS ONLY ON THERE FOR TWO WEEKS. THE STATEMENT ON THE FORUM IS NOT LEGALLY BINDING. IT'S NOT A CONTRACT. THE CONTRACT WILL MAKE NULL AND VOID ALL THE BENEFITS YOU SHOULD HAVE. DON'T GIVE IN. WAIT UNTIL AFTER JANUARY 1, 2012 TO SEE THE FALLOUT. MORE MEMBERS WILL LOSE THEIR PRIVILEGES. DON'T SIGN ANYTHING.
IN REVIEWING ONLINE FORUMS, SPECIFICALLY ONE ON THE LAFITNESSSUIT.COM OR BALLYSUIT.COM SITE, IT APPEARS AS THOUGH SOME MEMBERS ARE BEING DUPED OR TRICKED INTO SIGNING NEW CONTRACTS. THIS IS A COSTLY MISTAKE. SIGNING A KEY PAD OR ANY OTHER FORM AT LA FITNESS VOIDS YOUR BALLY MEMBERSHIP CONTRACT. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING. IT APPEARS THAT THE FORUM(S) ARE BEING MODERATED BY, YOU GUESSED IT, LA FITNESS REPRESENTATIVES. WHAT A SCAM! HOLD OFF ON SIGNING ANYTHING, AND INSIST THAT YOU CAN WORKOUT AT YOUR FACILITY UNTIL AT LEAST DECEMBER 31, 2011. AFTER THAT, LA FITNESS WILL SIMPLY TOSS ASIDE MORE UNWILLING MEMBERS. YOU ARE BETTER OFF SIGNING UP AT ANOTHER CLUB. LA FITNESS IS A NIGHTMARE TO WORK FOR OR BE A MEMBER AT. AVOID.
ADVICE TO ALL FORMER BALLY MEMBERS: DO NOT SIGN A KEY PAD OR A NEW CONTRACT! DO NOT LET THEM CONFISCATE LETTERS, MEMBERSHIP CARDS OR ANY EVIDENCE OF YOUR BALLY MEMBERSHIP INFO. AGAIN, DO NOT SIGN ANY CONTRACT, DO NOT ACCEPT ANY VERBAL STATEMENTS MADE BY ANY EMPLOYEES AT CORPORATE OF LOCAL LEVELS. VERBAL STATEMENTS ARE NOT LEGALLY BINDING, AND CAN BE BROKEN ANYTIME. EVERY BALLY MEMBER SHOULD WAIT UNTIL JANUARY 1, 2012, THEN SEE WHAT HAPPENS TO OTHER MEMBERS WHO HAVE SIGNED NEW CONTRACTS. THEY WILL BE FORCED TO PAY EXHORBITANT AMOUNTS WELL BEYOND BALLY RATES. CONTACT YOUR STATES ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE REGARDING REFUNDS OR AMOUNTS PAID IN ADVANCE. THE CURRENT LA FITNESS CONTRACT WOULD FORCE YOU TO PAY MORE IN THE FUTURE. AGAIN, DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU CONSULT WITH AN ATTORNEY. ASK FOR A COPY OF THE CONTRACT TO TAKE WITH YOU FROM LA FITNESS. YOU ARE ENTITLED TO TAKE IT HOME AN READ IT. LA FITNESS WILL BECOME A NIGHTMARE IF YOU SIGN A NEW CONTRACT WITH THEM! AVOID!
Well I just joined the gym and to be honest with you I was treated like I was a homeless and had no money to pay, The guy said to me" this gym is like a Roll -Royce gym and the people that come here normally have money to pay " So I do not have any money? and the manager did not wanted anybody in the sales rep desk unless they were gonna sign in. Well I said I do not care what the manager says because I am the one paying the bill. It's a signature gym but they had a ghetto ass girl chewing gum and texting she the customers walk in. The man is LATIN from South America who probably think this culture is like his country. I am very offended
Customer service at this front this LA-Fitness on 156th and Meridian in Puyallup, WA. The manager of the front desk is too full of herself to care about what the guest are asking and when she does look up from her cell phone, you are greeted with a sour face and with a degust attitude. She does not want to be bothered with small talk and refuses to repeat herself with any response to your question, if you can get her to look up long enough to acknowledge for existence. If this club wants to stay in business for the long haul, may I suggest a visit from corporate.
