My wife buys a pair of pants which do not fit right. So I return them. I told woman behind the counter that she had charged them on her Kohl's card and could she just charge it back. No, she says, because my wife is not present. All she can do is issue a store credit. I said I can give them the information and all we want is to credit the account, not make a purchase. Nope, she says, if my wife is not standing there then she cannot do anything more than give a store credit. I do not get it. Does Kohl's think we have nothing better to do than to drive back and forth just so my wife can be standing there just so they can enter a credit on the account. What idiots. It was not like I was trying to charge something. THAT I could understand. I will be cutting up our Kohl's cards and returning them. If they are so inflexible and ridiculous then we can live without them. There is Marshalls, Macy's, Lord n Taylor, and many more stores around to shop at.
I was very disappointed by you misleading ad you keep running. You state that as long as you have used your Kohls credit card you can return the item at any time, when in fact you will only go back 6 months, after that you will only receive lowest price for which the item sold for. Also, I purchased a Hello Kitty puzzle for my daughter which had three blank pieces. No where on the box was a number or e-mail address to contact the company, which was located in China. I feel if you are selling a product someone should at least be responsible enough to make sure there is a way of contacting the company in case of any problems. I used to love your stores and spent a lot of money with you, but I feel you are just becoming greedy and not looking out for you customers.
The managers at the Kohls store I work at do not care about the employees that work hard. They only care about the employees that suck up no matter how little work these people actually do. People are threatened that if sales in their department don't pick up they will be fired. I personally know some of these people and can tell you they work very hard and cannot control how much money customers spend. It's ridiculous. One manager in particular was threatening an employee for not getting enough credits even though he is a great worker, great with customers and was doing everything he could to push credit. Another employee there is constantly getting threatened because their department isn't perfectly clean when this person is the only one that does any work so when they are not there the department gets messy and no one else carries any of the blame. I have never worked at a place where the hardest workers get the least amount of respect. Its simply unbelievable. A particular manager there hires only pretty young girls who are just pathetically stupid and lazy. I will be seeking other employment as soon as possible.
The Kohl's mens department is pathetic. I have gone to the Southaven, MS store and have decided never to go back. There is absolutely no sales help available and it is difficult to locate particular items. Pricing is outrageous. Today, Dockers khaki pants were $54. Suits were "Buy one and get one 50% off. Stupid. Most of us do not buy 2 suits at one time and if we did we would not be willing to pay the net price for the suits as the price is based on the "original" price which was never used as an individual price. In addition, they seem to be only carrying "skinny" suits and do not have any classic cut suits available. In the past I have bought Chaps suits and jackets and like them. I wear a 42R so I am not a huge person but the only clothes they have are cut so skinny that a 44 does not cover me. I know that Chaps makes the clothes but Kohls could stock additional styles and sizes. I used their online customer service email address to send my concerns and they immediately sent the acknowledgement letter but never replied to my concerns. I believe this particular store will close within a year as everyone I know is complaining about it. Too bad as there is a need here for such a store. There is a real need for a good men's department in the area.
Dee...almost everywhere, gift cards are not included in special deals, in fact, most of the the it's printed on the circulars, "Gift Cards Not Included."
What a bunch of whiny bi**es. The things being complained about are just pathetic. I swear if Kohl's handed out hundred dollar bills someone would complain that it was folded
I work at Kohls now for close to 6 months and prior to this have shopped there and possess their credit card for years. I used to think the sales were pretty good but now that I work there I realize they manipulate the costs of items to make you think you're getting a good deal. And the merchandize is terrible--cheaply made stuff that is barely worthy of being stocked at a Dollar store. I admit some of their clearance items/prices are good deals but that is few and far between the norm. They do have an excellent return policy but because they sell such cheap crap it seeems too much stuff is returned. And the supervisors/managers have very little tact and people skills. Very rude people they are indeed! Kohl's pays just barely over minimum wage, schedules few hours a weeek and treat you like crap expecting you to do damn near everything with a smile all the while making just $7.50 an hour. No Bonuses for part time employees but they love to give you 'employee-discount-days' so that miniscule paycheck can be spent right there at Kohls---they work it sort of like old days when people worked for companies that owned the grocery/general store and all goods purchased were deducted from paycheck to the point you actually worked all week and owed company more than you made...So why am I still working there? Well, times are tough and I am looking for other opportunites and have appplied elsewhere so as soon as I get another gig I'm outta here!
I'm a former Kohls employee. I called Corporate to ask why the process of claiming my unclaimed check, is taking so long. I did as the notice told me to! I sent the slip in by the cut off date, Dec. 10th...and I STILL haven't received my money! The man I spoke with said, and I quote ["The process takes some time. Unfortunately there are more important things that have to run by the system BEFORE we get to former employee's payroll properties. It should be sent out by the end of the month."] ...I was dumbfounded. I sighed heavily and wanted to tell him off SO badly. If former employees mean sh*t to them, then what kind of company are they running here!? I'm sure they've been sued for not sending unclaimed checks to past employees. Would NOT surprise me AT ALL. If I don't see the money by the end of the month, we're gonna have problems.
I've certainly found a lot of people as disgusted as I am with Kohl's. I ordered 2 $100 gift cards the end of November 2011. One was for my daughter-in-law in Calif and one for my daughter-in-law in Colo., for Christmas. I got a conformation that they were shipped on Dec. 1, 2011. When I hadn't received either of them by Dec. 12, 2011, I called Customer Service. I could hardly understand the person I was speaking with and when I asked where he was located, he said Central America. He informed me that I should have them by the 14th. When it came and went and no cards, I called again and asked for a supervisor. I told him I wanted to cancel the orders and wanted my credit card credited immediately. He assured me that it would be done. On Dec. 15th I went to a Kohl's store and bought two $100 gift cards. On the 22 of Dec. I called my credit card company to check on the credit and they had not received a request for credit, yet. I called Kohl's customer service (ha!) two more times and got the same old run around! I received my credit card statement, today Jan. 3, 2012 and there was no credit for the cards I didn't receive. Then I called the credit card company to dispute the charge! This has caused me a great deal of trouble and stress. I have been a very good customer of Kohl's for years, but NO MORE! I am boycotting them and telling all my friends about the inept "customer service agents" they have. What a joke, they call them CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!!!!! I ordered gift cards from Amazon and got them within 5 days, in the mail! I'm beginning to think Kohl's are THIEVES! I hope we can all ban together and force them out of business.
Twice I attempted to use Kohl's cash in the last two months, and on both occasions I was told that my Kohl's cash was not valid because I had "returned" the items on which I had earned the cash. Needless to say, I had returned nothing (or I would not be complaining); however, the manager at Kohl's Westchester, CA insisted that I had. Further, she refused to acknowledge that there was even a remote *possibilty* that I could be right and that something was fishy. When I called corporate headquarters to complain, I was informed that the items I had purchased had been returned on various dates at two different Kohl's locations. I then promptly gathered all the items that I had supposedly "returned" (which was not difficult because all of the items were in my home), brought them over to Kohl's, and marched up to the manager and informed her that I was there to return the previously returned items. The manager was so dense and perplexed that she couldn't speak, at which point a nearby cashier commented to her that I appeared to have a legitimate fraud claim, and that she needed to request an investigation. Note that I do not have a Kohl's credit card. These purchases were made with my bank debit card. I believe there are some rogue employees at the Kohl's in Westchester, California, or perhaps in Kohl's the corporate offices, who are stealing from the Company by issuing returns on debit card transactions and pocketing the cash. Interestingly, on both occassions, the returns were made one at a time over several days. Yes, I lost $40.00 in Kohl's cash - I really, really don't care, as I have no desire to ever set foot in that store again. However, the store records indicate that merchandise currently in my possession, namely two pairs of Levi 501 jeans, some black dress shoes, a flannel shirt, and some men's
As a Kohl's shopper for many many years, I am becoming more and more disappointed in them. They encourage you to buy gift cards, and get a store credit on returns, but when you go to purchase something on their sales, 10%, 20% or 30% off, you can not use these cards. You can only purchase with your Kohl's charge card. Then you can't use these cards to pay your bill. They cards should are paid for, like cash, and should be able to be used. I'm with alot of you, slowing steering away from Kohls, and finding a different place to shop. Happy New Year. Maybe with enough complains, Kohl's will change. It worked with Bank of America and Verizon. :)
Manger at the Western Hills/Dent store in Cincinnati is like a coupon Nazi. What's up with sending me more than one $5 off coupon but then telling me I can't use both of them in two separate transactions. Hey Kohl's, quit sending me coupons that I can't use, oh, and please fire the rude, arrogant, coupon nazi manager at that store. She's wicked !
My daughter have gotton a sweater as a gift from Khols... As usual the security tag was left on the sweater. Having to drive several miles to get the security tag removed I was told that I have to have a receipt in order for them to remove it for proof of purchase. Now I am pretty sure that this happens all the time during the holiday season, cashier tend to forget to remove the tag, so when we made the trip to khols, we kindly asked for help, the team members name was Lisa, she noticably had an very mean attitude. We were standing in a long line at coustomer service and Lisa just showed off in front of the other customers which was so terrible. All we wanted to do was have the security device removed, that was the only simple right service she should have gave us. I left the store embarrased. It is so many people who are looking for jobs and cant find one because of carlessness on who is hired to work for Khols. Im sure I wold have received much better customer service for just a moment of Khols customer service time.
I work at Kohls and I can tell you some very shady stuff happens there. At least at the store I work at. I know someone who was promised a raise if he were to take a new position which would at first be a pay cut. He agreed only because he was promised a raise in a few months after taking the job. After more than enough time had passed this man asked about his raise and was told by that particular manager that he did not remember promising any raise. I believe that this guy was conned into taking the job because no one else dependable applied for the job so he was lied to so they would have someone reliable working for them at a lesser pay than promised. This is just one of many things I have personally witnessed. Very sad.
That store sucks to shop at and work at... You get no respect from anyone and the managers will talk to u like ur an idiot even infront of other assosiates and customers. And when they fired me after i have been there for 2 years they sent me a letter in the mail didnt even have the respect to tell me to my face. Now it has been a week and they STILL havent payed me for my vacation time!!!!
Ordered on December 20 for shipment by December 24. They said GUARANTEED. I started calling them one week prior because the tracking number stated it would be delivered December 28. EVERY ONE OF THE CSRs I spoke with GUARANTEED delivery by December 24. The last one, Holly, on December 23 told me her SUPERVISORS had told all of them to tell the customers if they were promised by December 24, it WOULD BE DELIVERED. I got an email last night stating SORRY, IT WON'T BE COMING. HERE'S A $10 CERTIFICATE. What is Kohl's talking about? I don't want $10.....I want my GRANDSON'S CHRISTMAS TELESCOPE. The last call to Kohls.com I made today, the supervisor said "they should not have told you that it was guaranteed"... WHO'S LYING NOW? Then, she was going to transfer me to someone else and she hung up on me. I am so mad right now. I've already been charged too.. This is not setting right with me and needs to be followed up on. I WILL BE MAKING WAVES ON THIS. NO ONE MESSES WITH ME GIVING MY GRANDSON HIS PRESENT ON CHRISTMAS!!
Well, there seems to be a pattern of complaining here. So I am going to break the chain and say I enjoy shopping at Kohls and they have always gone above and beyond in service. I have never had a issue returning something, getting a price adjustment when terms dictated, etc. I can understand their policy of not accepting checks over 250 due to fraud and would have immediately whipped out my debit card/ credit card and paid for same. And if they didn't work, went to the nearest teller and grabbed some cash. If you got it in the bank, get it, it may be a pain, but I am not going to beat a dead horse. Obviously that policy is in place for a reason, rules are rules. Every place has them. Kohls has a 10 dollar cash back with 50 spent, ten dollar off purchases, shopping discount passes, great clearances, etc. I personally think it is a great place to shop. Just my opinion, Merry Christmas!
The kohls store in California, Maryland is a joke the Store Manager is from West Virginia, and all his fat ass do is lie and blow up the company card feeding his face, and the click of managers and department heads. He is a redneck and it really shows in the working of his employees. They are so fake with their redneck ways. Hopefully the company will get him, and his click for the stealing that they all been doing from the store. He, and his click check each other out at the registers ringing each other up on the cash registers all the dirty things they say and do to people is going too take them down. They all are trash!!!!!!!
