It really boggles the mind that JCP having built its long time reputation on quality and service is failing its vast loyal customer base in such a despicable manner. Whoever is in charge should be thoroughly ashamed¡K while I will leave the gay issue to God, my experience as a customer in the stores and beauty shops has been soiled like an infant¡¦s diaper, and everyone knows you can¡¦t stand the smell or get the stain out, how very sad. Having been a loyal JCP customer for the past 5 decades... I feel sick when I think about what¡¦s happened to the NEW JCP, the OLD JCP was built on Quality Merchandise and Excellent Customer Service¡K All of which are GONE!!!! ƒ¼ Service and Quality ¡§SUCK¡¨ all around from the top to the bottom... The unlucky employees left behind could give two damns about the customers or merchandise; they are all looking for an escape from this mess. I have had to leave Dillard¡¦s & Spiegel behind and now, Yes; JCP... JCP no longer deserves the loyalty of its long time customer base... "REALLY IS THE END OF AN ERA"! And HOW VERY SAD FOR ALL THE LOYAL LONG TIME CUSTOMER BASE OF THE LAST 50 OR 60 YEARS. :-( Guess the adage is correct '2 soon we get old 2 late we get smart'!!!! SO THE REAL ANSWER WITH REGARDS TO RATING -------ZERO!!!!

I was in the JC Penny store in Sherman,TX on June 21, 2012 and three employees were so rude to me! I was in the men's department looking for jeans and not one employee asked me if I needed any help but instead, walked all around within my area and asked other customers if they did need help. They huddled around anytime I came near and were laughing and making fun of me when I walked by. What the hell are you paying these employees for? This is not 'selective' customer service! When a customer walks in they're supposed to help them no matter what their personal thoughts are about the customer! I will not shop there again and I will tell everyone I know about my experience! You just lost a customer

I have worked over 15 years at our local JCP. They have started the renovations this past week and the more I hear of the changes going in there, the more excited I am getting. I am an older person who probably only has maybe 5 years of so left, but I am a proud part timer and hope to work there until I age out. I have looked at those catalogs I get in the mail and not being someone looking for such things, never would have guessed that there was some homosexual advertising going on. I remember the picture of the three generation of women for May and I just thought it was a grandma, mom and granddaughter. I am applying for one of the expert positions in another department and I was stunned to hear how much the manager of my current position was counting on me in running the section of the department I have been in for several years. I think who ends up staying are the ones who can grasp the changes going on and go with the flow. A lot of people just don't like change. These guys did their research and they know how the coupon mindset really didn't work for the company. I can honestly say that I have heard many more customers say they like the changes then the other way around. Coupons? Sure they have them with reward cards. You can sign any of your cards up for that, not just a JCP card. Sales? Sure they last the entire month, not just one short weekend. The first and third Friday markdowns are great fun for those who love to find a bargain. it sounds like to me a a lot of former customers simply missed the ideas as to how these things work. It is very customer friendly.

When they realize that their catalogs made them unique and that people love sales and coupon, they will be better off. What is the purpose of sending those stupid "look books"? I would throw them in the garbage. Like I'm supposed to spend all my time in the store or online looking for an item without an item number? I will take my business elsewhere where I get coupons and sales. Those new commercials are very stupid and non-informational. I loved to order from the catalogs they had for every imaginable need, and many other people did to. Perhaps they have learned their lesson.....

I along with other christians choose to boycot your stores because of your decision to promote the gay lifestyle and go against Gods will. If our creator had intended it to be so then 2 same sex individuals could procreate. It breaks my heart to do this because Pennys has been my favorite store for years, but I am compelled to stand with God.

I started at JCP in may in the LP dept. My manager let a shoplifter go because she had to get her son from school.. while children are important so is your duty to your employer. if you dont have time to do your job.. give it to someone who can. broke all the rules she enforced. now playing games with my last paycheck. lasted 45 days. didnt shop there before i was an associate doubt ill shop there now nor would I ever recommend anybody to work for them. you are NOT americas favorite place to shop.. or work

When you shop JCP on line it says you can pick up at the store for FREE!!! But do they have a catalog pickup desk any longer? Noooo! I was told I have to go to any service counter, even the beauty salon, where they'll have a "runner" find my order. And returning an item is more of a nightmare. Ordered for home delivery and received in 3 days. Ordered for store delivery and it's now been 8 days and still no order. What marketing genius thought up this plan?

I am so glad to hear the president is stepping down. He did insult his customers. You lost $2,389.00 in my business. I went to other places. Turn Penney's around the way it was and I'll come back.

JCP forget about religion, forget about ethnic group's,and culture. who in the h--- was responsible for braking what was working perfectly well? certainly not one person man or woman made this unrepairable decision. Your television adds, what is it with the pig? and the animation cartoons?? you took A positive and turned it into a negative. my family for over 40 years shopped at JCP Account #026 073 102 1 1 (look it up) look at the activity for the last 6 months? $000.00 compared to what it was. please don't tell me that my money didn't matter? or effect your bottom line (maybe not my family alone) but multiply my spending times the ten's of thousands of loyal customers JCP had. Discover, and visa certainly love me now. I'll close for now probably never shop at JCP again A final word it was A pleasure shopping at store #2092 in Melbourne Fl. good luck to all those fantastic employees, your two manager's Mr.Ron Rice(who retired)& Mr.Jim Rice (who you replaced) knew there customers, some on a first name basis, and listened to them.

I like the every day low prices! I hate clipping coupons because I don't have time to pay attention to them and usually forget them anyway. When I go to JCP, I can rely on purchasing quality items for low prices. I have shopped there for years and will continue to do so. I was there just a few weeks ago and purchased numerous items and paid only about $40 instead of what could have been $100. I was ecstatic! Leave the sales strategy the way it is and don't go back to coupons! Thank you.

WHEN I HEARD YOU WERE FOR THE GAYS IS WHEN I STOPPED SHOPPING AT PENNY'S. IT IS AGAINST MY RELIGION.

I use to love jcp with all the coupons and mailers. I went to jcp this past weekend and the parking lot was empty!!! This never happend before this fair pricing began. I do not like the ads they are using with the homosexuals (leviticus 18:22-23 author GOD). I dont see how their ads show a happy family when they are both the same sex. God said its an abomination and jcp supports it. This is not the way to win customers. Who chose this strategy??

Since JC Penney decided to change their direction for pricing, the price of clothing as well as other goods has gone up considerably. I always thought JC Penney had good deals, better than the higher end stores like Nordstrom and Macys but that's no longer true. If you don't revert back to having real bargains and better quality of goods, you will lose many more customers, such as myself.

NEW STUDY ON HOMOSEXUAL PARENTS TOPS ALL PREVIOUS RESEARCH Children of Homosexuals Fare Worse on Most Outcomes In a historic study of children raised by homosexual parents, sociologist Mark Regnerus of the University of Texas at Austin has overturned the conventional academic wisdom that such children suffer no disadvantages when compared to children raised by their married mother and father. Just published in the journal Social Science Research,[1] the most careful, rigorous, and methodologically sound study ever conducted on this issue found numerous and significant differences between these groups--with the outcomes for children of homosexuals rated "suboptimal" (Regnerus' word) in almost every category. The Debate Over Homosexual Parents In the larger cultural, political, and legal debates over homosexuality, one significant smaller debate has been over homosexual parents. Do children who are raised by homosexual parents or caregivers suffer disadvantages in comparison to children raised in other family structures--particularly children raised by a married mother and father? This question is essential to political and ethical debates over adoption, foster care, and artificial reproductive technology, and it is highly relevant to the raging debate over same-sex "marriage." The argument that "children need a mom and a dad" is central to the defense of marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Here is how the debate over the optimal family structure for children and the impact of homosexual parents has usually gone: Pro-family organizations (like Family Research Council) assert, "Social science research shows that children do best when raised by their own biological mother and father who are committed to one another in a life-long marriage." This statement is true, and rests on a large and robust collection of studies. Pro-homosexual activists respond, "Ah, but most of those studies compared children raised by a married couple with those raised by divorced or single parents--not with homosexual parents." (This is also true--in large part because the homosexual population, and especially the population of homosexuals raising children, is so small that it is difficult to obtain a representative sample.) The advocates of homosexual parenting then continue, "Research done specifically on children raised by homosexual parents shows that there are no differences (or no differences that suggest any disadvantage) between them and children raised by heterosexual parents." Pro-family groups respond with a number of critiques of such studies on homosexual parents. For example, such studies usually have relied on samples that are small and not representative of the population, and they frequently have been conducted by openly homosexual researchers who have an ideological bias on the question being studied. In addition, these studies also usually make comparisons with children raised by divorced or single parents--rather than with children raised by their married, biological mother and father. In fact, an important article published in tandem with the Regnerus study (by Loren Marks, Louisiana State University) analyzes the 59 previous studies cited in a 2005 policy brief on homosexual parents by the American Psychological Association (APA).[2] Marks debunks the APA's claim that "[n]ot a single study has found children of lesbian or gay parents to be disadvantaged in any significant respect relative to children of heterosexual parents." Marks also points out that only four of the 59 studies cited by the APA even met the APA's own standards by "provid[ing] evidence of statistical power." As Marks so carefully documents, "[N]ot one of the 59 studies referenced in the 2005 APA Brief compares a large, random, representative sample of lesbian or gay parents and their children with a large, random, representative sample of married parents and their children." To summarize, we have been left with large, scientifically strong studies showing children do best with their married mother and father--but which do not make comparisons with homosexual parents or couples; and studies which purportedly show that children of homosexuals do just as well as other children--but which are methodologically weak and thus scientifically inconclusive...

We have used your store for a long time. Your sales and coupons was a big help.At taking care of are family needs. your ceo. makes it hard to go to your store because we dont want people to think we are gay. I am a JCPenney associate of a year and 2 months. To all those who say working for JCP under this new regime is awful - just because your bosses are horrible doesn't mean all of them are. My supervisors and new manager are all doing their best to be flexible and accommodating, understanding and sincere. Don't blame Corporate for your unprofessional bosses. To those who plead with Corporate to not "advocate any cultural viewpoint" and ask that they stay neutral, is the portrayal of a husband and wife in an advertisement not a cultural viewpoint? It is. It's the Heterosexual community that you are portraying. If they were truly to stay neutral, they would portray all cultures, not just the ones you believe in. You are conflicting your own self in your argument. To those who are angry at JCP and are hoping it "goes under and rots in hell", I am going to presume that you are so bitter because JCP has treated you unfairly. Please, think of all the employees nationwide that you are dooming to unemployment because of your vengeful anger towards Corporate. Are you not treating them unfairly as you were treated? I am nervous about the changes going on. I am scared that our sales are going to continue going down. I am afraid that the public won't grasp what we're trying to do in such a timely manner that it is effective. However, there is not much more I can do about any of this than to be the best Sales Associate I can be, offer the best customer service to my patrons, and to provide a helpful and cheerful environment for my shoppers to shop in. Cheers, Corporate, and good luck.

You guys are nuts. Boycotting a store because there is a lesbian on the ad. Really!

As a faithful shopper of JCP for many years, I will never shop there nagain unless you remove your support of gay marriage. The most liberal state in the country even voted in huge numbers for the ban and yet a few brutal liberals who knocked down old ladies holding crosses and speak like thugs change and intimidate? Trust me JCP they dont shop and dress like ladies, they look like guys. Put your trust in the real Americans not Euro wannabees. Lost Customer until you do the right thing

I like the new direct pricing policy, no lures, no 'sales' and 'coupons'. I paid about the same yesterday for items I used to buy only when on sale and with a coupon. Actually, I paid a little less. I am a senior, straight, family man. I do not choose the gay/lesbian lifestyle, but I'm glad I have the freedom to choose. I do not find same sex parents in the ads an issue at all. I applaud that you did not buckle under to those confused people who choose to regulate others instead of themselves. I hate that you are downsizing, but understand with the economic changes since 2004, everybody is paying.
