I am upset as a parent that you have broken down the family unit and that you have gone from selling merchandise to promoting immorality. While I respect people's choice in what gender they prefer to have courtship with (choice is written about all throughout the Bible and so is something called consequences, but that's not my soap box), I do not believe any company should be promoting homosexuality or drugs, murder, idolatry or adultery for that matter. Last time I checked JCP was a merchandise store, where they sell clothes, shoes, accessories and homegoods. I am a Christian and I stand firm on the Bible's principles and morals. I am NOT judging anyone. There is only one ultimate judge and I know, it is NOT me. If you agree with same gender couples, that is your perogative, but I think it is ridiculous that you would promote it in your ads, how about taking pictures of the products you are selling and sticking to that, SELL ME YOUR PRODUCTS NOT YOUR BELIEFS. I have cut up my JCP card and will not be shopping there anymore. Me taking a stand for God, is not giving you my money to spend on immoral issues in your advertisements. This really saddens me because JCP use to be my favorite store.

Mr. Johnson, When jcp stock prices fall and revenues are down, when associates lose commission, hours and even employment, do you take a pay cut? All of your selling associates have. Wouldn't that be fair and square?

I REALLY DO NOT LIKE JCP ANYMORE AND TO BE HONEST THE PRICES R NOT FAIR AND SQUARE I USED TO SHOP THERE ALL THE TIME BECAUSE IT HAD REASONABLE PRICES BUT NOW I WOULD TAKE ME AND MY MONEY SOMEWHERE ELSE YOU SHOULD TAKE AN EXAMPLE FROM KOHL'S THERE CLOTHED ARE REASONABLY PRICED OR THEY HAVE A LOT OF CLEARANCE

So Ron Johnson thinks that offering free haircuts for August to kids will bring back the families that have refused to shop there. You still don't get Mr. Johnson. Oh there may be some that want the coupons back and the sales back but you still lose the families that refuse to shop there. The family is under attack. You have decided that it is your job as part of a retailer to tell us what is normal. You quote JC Penney in your broadcast. It reminds me of Obama quoting Reagan when it best serves him. You don't have a clue of how great this company was and how you and your dream team have turned it into a nightmare for associates and customers that have shopped Penneys for years. You can build your shops and have your food and drink bar and your Wi-Fi but there is a large portion of the customers that have chosen to go elsewhere. You got rid of Mike Francis to the tune of 12 million dollars. It will cost them alot more to get rid of you. No matter what you do, remember you have turned away long time customers with your agenda.

I have read the comments of some of your customers and now former customers.i guess i missed the ads regarding your support of gays and lesbians,i was not aware of this of this. You should stay neutral when it comes to this issue.what you need to concentrate on is better service to your customers, meaning, go back to your sales and coupons you would offer to your customers. I to have been a loyal customer of jcp since 1972.purchasing clothes for myself and family, and as well as furniture,housewares,etc.. what i would like to see happen,is for jcp to go back to having merchandise being made in American and not imported. on July 29,I dropped my 16 year old grandson off at the store while i went to the bank, when i returned 20 minutes later he was gone I'm a very over protective grandparent, considering i raised him myself. I know he is 16 not 6 but i still lost it and started to scream his name! I assumed the worst, after-all the world is a mean place. The manager DEBBIE, THE CATALOG ASSOCIATE KELLY, and several other employees came to my aid. My grandson had walked down to another store, i did not know he was going to do this. your palatka Fl store manager took me to her office, gave me a kleenex, and a glass of water i needed it too! Thank you Palatka JC PENNEY! MRS LIZ in jewelry was an angel sent to my aid when i needed one the most!!!!

Everyone who has their panties in a wad over the homosexual couples in Penney's ad, GET OVER IT!! The world is changing. So you and your "god" can get over it. Love is love you selfish, judging pricks. Whatever happened to good "christians" don't judge? This country is screwed because of the likes of you ignorant people. Penney's is better off without our business you blind bastards.

they never have items that you want to buy its a mess no good sale no items in store stocks.

I am currently a jcpenneys salon employee. I am so stressed out I can't sleep! We no longer get commission. I make 10.04/hr I've been a stylist 20 plus yrs! We cannot have cell phones, food, water, coffee, purses, tampons, any personal effects in the salon. We cannot sit down on our shift. We are required to maintain productivity, have 4 referrals per week, sell retali and rebook 60 percent of clients. We also have workbooks we are mandated to fill out daily and watch training videos... when am I supposed to do hair????? This is the worst job I've ever had. I'm taking my clients and penneyes clients and PEACE OUT!!!!!

Dear JC Penney, I am surprised that in this weak economy, any corporation wishing to make money would attempt to focus on a mere 2% of the population in this country. Despite what you see on television, that is what the US census says is the gay population of the United States at this time. (Many polls show that our fellow Americans believe that up to 25% of the country is gay. Apparently, you smart people do, too.) I am not evangelical. I am not gay-hating. I actually have (one) lesbian and (one) gay male friend. I am just a normal person who does not appreciate the stores I like to shop at taking sides. On any issue, other than, say, disaster relief, or something ALL Americans can get behind ( no pun intended). You may be better off translating all of your ads into an Asian language of your choice, if you wish to capture a significant market share of some minority group. I, however, being an undereducated guy, would probably market my company to piss off the fewest people, maximize my market share, and recognize (through research, monitoring buying habits, etc.) who my customers really were. Like they probably teach at Harvard or Yale. Or used to. With All Due Respect, Rick

Thank goodness you are all stickin to your guns! DON'T SHOP JC PENNYS… EVER AGAINNNN! I have been through complete hell with them issuing me out a 30.00 credit for over the last2 months! I'm sending out a letter today to the corporate office. And I'm going to keep sending them out! also going to pickett against jc pennys for treating me the way they have. They need to put the damn money they owe me in my checking account electronicallyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

JCPenny, what was once a household name known for great buys and good product now you have caved to grant your "approval" of the gay lifestyle. No longer will I shop with you.. Not because I have a problem with each choosing their own lifestyle but because you as a company have chosen to become political rather than simply remain a company focused on growing your business. Bad move on your part.

I never shopped much at JC Penny. We had one here in Louisville Ky., but it was so bad, it was like shopping at the Salvation Army. Place looked bad and smelled bad with sky high prices. I'm 63 years old. I remember a time when these stores were really great and an adventure to shop at....Now it's almost like "I dare you to shop here". They should just quit trying to swim and just go down the toilet....it would be more merciful for all of us.

hello, many thanks for not backing down ovwe the ellen controversy. i haven't shopped at jc penney for years but will do so now, i'm happy to support an open minded company. debbie

I just read in Washington Post a 'blurp' that Michael Francis has left. Right away when the 'change' was made with your 'advertising' brochures ...beautiful quality paper/ beautiful colors/ and layout...but??? nothing there to attract me to go to the store 'to purchase'/...all was 'foreign' to me..no coupons...and telling me that this is the 'always low price'...psychologically doesn't work on my brain to be enticed to even come to the store/ and the other system of colored tags...plus lowest price/ plus once a month low price. I am too old to start figuring out and remembering all this...so right away i mentioned that this is not going to work to others..and apparently it did not. I have no clue where Mr. Francis got this idea..it certainly is not used at Target! So hopefully back to the 'old' system where I don't have to think what time of the month it is..what the color of the tag means/ and to understand that this is the 'lowest' price. Now paper quality is important...and layout is important...but the 'old' system was quite good and familiar for customers to relate to.And coupons are a good marketing method! Also, at least in this area...which is in Gaithersburg Maryland outside of D.C. the store has set up (a long time ago)stations to check out. There are not enough or no clerks in various depts on the floors/ to add to all this, this county here has come up with the brilliant idea of requiring stores to charge customers 5cents for a plastic bag...so people are coming in with their 'own' bags...or walking out holding in their hands items...which have NOT gone thru the registers...and there is no one checking at the doors/ plus no 'ringing of bells' that it has not gone thru a computer. i would suggest that Penney's 'eats up' that fee and gives everyone a bag..or better yet...this is a very very high crime area...that they should have 'bag checkers' at the doors to check items against receipts. It has gotten to the point that I resent being one of the few who is paying...why should I pay when I could easily put into a bag i bring in or just walk out holding in my hands...huh? So something has to be done about this...already the costume jewelry dept is sparsely filled..and this same problem is at Target's and Walmart. It is a big problem.

Mr. Johnson, I hear that you are no longer in charge of ruining J C Penney (oh, excuse me - JCP)-- thank heavens! However, it is too late for me as a weekly customer at the friendly Salon and shopping as I went through the store. A week ago Friday was my last appointment there and I will no longer be spending an average of $200.00 per month with your corporation. It didn't take you long at all, did it, to destroy a wonderful family friendly retail giant!! I only hope that someone will clean up the mess that you made and I can again enjoy shopping at a place that I have shopped all my adult life, and they will return the original name that we are all so familiar with.

We have been loyal JCP customers since the early 70's. The new direction of JCP had been such a turn off that we will no longer shop there. The photo of the two men with a baby was the last straw for us. Supporting and promoting the "Jerry Sandusky's" of the world is SICK. JCP is promoting pedifelia and homosexuality which is wrong, not natural, immoral, unethical, just wrong! We are supposed to be protecting our most precious assets which is our children. You are promoting anything but that!

Just cut up my credit card and cancelled it, also cancelled all catalogs. I feel better now. :)

After over 35 years of shopping at JCPenny, we are done. The "new pricing" gimmic did nothing whatsoever to enhance the shopping experience. In fact, this alone had me looking elsewhere, sadly so, because I've loved shopping at Pennys. But the promotion of a homosexual lifestyle was the final straw. This is not a "new lifestyle", in fact, it is very old, read Genesis 19. The founders of JCP had a moral strength based on Christian principles...also not new. Those who are making these decisions today will be held accountable someday, and all the money you think you are saving will not matter anyway.

After 15 years, and many commendations from customers, I was read a script that told me my department was eliminated. Since it was the 3rd department eliminated this year, and they have cut everyone's hours, there was no other position for me, nor any of my coworkers. Since my department was cut, commissioned sale people have lost their commissions, and the company thinks this will enhance the customer experience. Ridiculous -- it will enhance the bottom line for the big shots in Dallas. I was in there (for the last time) last week, and you could practically see the tumbleweeds rolling down the aisles. It was DEAD. Before my position was eliminated, the managers were getting nervous for their own jobs, and they were openly nasty to us. I worked there with stock prices hovering near $100, and I was there when they were under $5, and morale was never as low as it had been since February.
