I TOO FIND THE SCREAMING COMMERCIAL INSULTING! WHY WOULD ANYONE WANT TO SHOP IN A STORE THAT APPARENTLY THINKS THAT THIS TYPE OF ADVERTIZING IS ATTRACTIVE? IF I WANTED SCREAMING, I WOULD GO TO SHOE CARNIVAL WHOSE COMMERCIALS ARE AT LEAST NOT CONDESCENDING. AND YES,I AM SCREAMING IN PRINT ON PURPOSE!

This ad, as well as the misguided and idiotic marketing campaign, are insulting and ridiculous. I can afford to shop anywhere, but like JCP for the excellent merchandise and friendly sales associates, who, by the way, are leaving in droves. Or, Mr. Johnson, have you not looked away from your narcissistic mirror to notice? Your pompous attitude and delusions of greatness are truly nauseating. You are not even close to being a "genius." Pathetic is what you are. I feel sorry for all those souls you have crushed on your meteoric rise to the top. The fall will be long and hard.

I sent an email to JCPenny customer service about the screaming ad currently airing on TV, but received a canned response that was essentially more marketing. So I want to add my comments to this forum. This is perhaps the most offensive commercial I have ever seen on television. It is coarse, unimaginative, and rude. It is so loud that it hurts the ears. I immediately hit the mute button. If JCPenny customers in real life are so inconsiderate of others that they must shriek, bellow, blare, howl, screech, shout, shrill, squawk, squeal, wail, whoop, and yell in public, then I certainly do not want to be shopping anywhere near them, as they would most surely ruin the shopping experience. Apparently Ronald B. Johnson or others in Corporate approved it, but what were they thinking? It represents the store very poorly.

The new JCP commercial is disgusting! It makes no sense and I have to mute it when it comes on. What the heck is your marketing team thinking?

Did not care too much for your store, started liking the store a little bit better, but then the screaming commercial is just plain HORRIBLE!!!!!! I cannot mute the commercial fast enough! I think you will be losing customers instead of gaining them! Because you did lose me for sure!! I think you need to rethink the commercial! Maybe if enough people write, you will take off the commercial?!?!? I can only pray that you do!

Lose the new ad! Really! I think your new policy to reduce pricing and have additional sales twice a month is a great idea! I hope it improves your sales and saves jobs and everyone lives happily ever after. But I can't get to the mute button fast enough when your commercial comes on. It ruins the positive message and leaves the viewer with a very negative image! Very sincerely, Mary

The worst ad in the history of product advertising. Ron, would Apple have ever used anything like this? The answer is NO. Please stop it now.

Thanks to whomever invented the mute function for TV. JCP has just won the most annoying commercial ad in the history of TV. I thought the GEICO's pig was the worst until I heard this commercial. Michael Francis should follow in the foot steps of other corp. leaders who have heard their consumers dissatisfaction.

I've filed a complaint with the FCC because the screaming ad is so far beyond loud and obnoxious that it makes me want to sue JCP. My husband and I adopt older dogs from the Humane Society to give them a better end of life. We have three large dogs, aged 19, 18, 13. I generally keep the the tv on low as white noise, to mask the exterior sounds of loud children, or car doors slamming, things that might startle or incite my old beasts. For me to see looks of terror on my dogs' faces when this screaming ad airs tears me apart. It is not just a bad ad; it exceeds the volume of normal broadcast tenfold. Yank the damn ad. And no, the "even bad publicity..." theory doesn't apply.

What is this horrible advertisement. i can't handle the screaming and change the channel each time it comes on. Can't for the life of me figure out what you are advertising and honestly, now I couldn't care less. Thanks to that stupid ad I have no interest in shopping there. What does it mean, what does it stand for??? Do people scream in your store aisles? What are they screaming about, they all sound like they are being murdered. Why would I want to go to a store where people are screaming. And, again, I have absolutely NO idea what you are advertising. Get this horrible ad off my TV

I'm going to walk in your store and scream so loudly and obnoxiously that I disrupt everyones shopping experience...then I'm going to walk out and never step foot in a JCP store again. If you think any press is good press, you're dreaming. I think I'll have PTSD from seeing the letters JCP from now on. Stupid ad. Stupid company. Will never shop there again.

Your market researchers should be FIRiED!, the screaming commercial is so obnoxious I turn the channel when it airs. I never want to shop your store again.

If JC Penny thinks olny women hate this Screeming commercial, think agaduin. I am a 68 year old USMC Sergeant, of the VietNam era. I can't afford to destroy my TV, but if I could, one round from, from a 1911 45cal would be my solution to the to the worst TV commercial I've ever seen. Remember, a happy customer tells one person the're happy, but an unhappy customer tells 8 potential customers they are unhappy. With JCP looking at a bankrupt filling, this is one dumb move. Offer a public appology.

Your screaming commercial compares to the actions of someone who has witnessed the horrible sight of death to their child or partner, I only recall that sound in Viet Nam. Who ever signed off on your ad campaign needs to be informed that it is not as hot as he/she thinks it is. I will never spend another dime in your store again, and we have 8 grandchildren.

Its on again...I will never ever set foot in your store unless to walk in and scream at the top of my lungs. By the way, the new logo "JCP" looks like you are trying to compete with KFC. What's it stand for? Perhaps Jerks Communicating Poorly? Or Just Crappy Products? Good luck on your race to be the next retailer to close its doors. You are certainly off to a head start with this campaign.

Please make the JC Penney ad go away. I like shopping at JC Penney, but everytime this ad comes on I want to go screaming myself in the opposite direction. Whoever came up with this bright idea wasn't supervised. I'm not sure what they thought was appealing or informative about it. Please, please, please . . . . make it go away.

I would dearly like to know how the foo I ended up on JCP's mailing list when I never signed up for it. I do not subscribe to any magazines or catalogs, nor do I purchase anything online because I do not want my contact information sold. I called the customer service number and "Debbie" was of zero help.

I can't stand that screaming ad. Everytime it comes on my TV, I switch channels, or at least turn off the sound while I go to another room. If it pops up on my computer, I close the window, thereby depriving the website of my commerce and attention. If I were a site on which you had bought space, I would be very upset at the traffic you were costing me. I HATE IT!

Thanks to that brilliant commercial of yours, I refuse to shop at Penney's anymore, no matter how good the sales are, because of that screaming ad. Never in my life, and it's been a long one, have I boycotted a store. This will be my first. I've never seen a company lose this many customers because of a promotion they were running. What a mistake you made in this pick and whoever the creators were and put this on air? Good going, you all are going down in history as the worst marketing campaign ever. Congratulations.

I was sitting here contemplating the thought that everyone makes mistakes, even large companies as you are all well aware of now. What customers want is the key, and the key is not in making it loud and repetitious. Look at the statistics of the companies that are thriving and look at their ads. Soft, soothing, almost "Zen" feeling in their tones. The colors, the music, the voice. Customers are more drawn to something that they can't quite hear, something that peaks their interest to want to pay attention closer. If you play a beautiful note, if you hear a unique-toned voice, if you start "feeling" a catchy beat,,, but you can't quite hear the message yet, so you start paying attention, wanting to hear what the ad is saying... There you have it, attention attraction 101. If you wish to learn further, calm your mind and call out to me with your question and I'll help you, but only if you behave.
