A very negative place to work

Jcp is no longer the customer or employee focused store it used to be. There have been so many layoffs of great employees. It's truly evident jcp no longer values anyone there. And yet Ron Johnson still gets all his little perks. My district is in bad shape. Everyone is demoralized and we have a horrible district manager. I have no idea how Michelle Bondietti became a district manager. She is degrading to everyone and completely lacks basic managerial and leadership skills. It's no wonder why staff moral is so low with constant verbal harassment and threats by an inept district manager. After just a few years of working with what once was a great company to work for, I will be quitting.

Quality and Quantity of Goods

I got turned on to J.C. Penney's about 3 years ago because of crew neck tee shirts I was able to buy in my local stores. I am extremely disappointed in Penney's at the moment. I used to purchase the St. John's Bay women's tee shirts all the time. They were great quality for the cost. Now you are selling JCP brand and they are JUNK. The size I used to purchased is no longer good for me, the quality is cheap (made in China), and the prices have increased. I get the price increase!!!!! However, I would have been willing to pay more if I got equal quality. I made a substantial purchase yesterday and will return everything I purchased - some of which were polo shirts. You have added a tail on the back. In addition, asking questions in the stores is a lost cause any more. I inquired about why the Alfred Dunner brand has been relegated to a small corner when it used to be a fairly substantial part of the inventory for women and was told, "well, that's just where we are putting them at the now." Alfred Dunner is brand I am very fond of. Seems like you are working to discontinue it???? Can't believe what's happening at Penney's. It's such a shame.

Has Corporate gone stupid?

I am totally disappointed that the store that I have shopped at for years is now a store that I can no longer rely on for well-fitting business attire. The clothing lines that were my constant favorites have been discontinued. While I fully understand the need to modernize, it is important not to alienate your older clientele. By discontinuing brands like St John's Bay, East 5th and Cabin Creek, you have essentialy cut you ties to anyone over 40, which, in case you are not aware have tremendous buying power and influence. I believe you can't see the forest through the trees, losing site of the big picture.

VERY SAD!

I have been with the company for 21 years. I will be turning in my two weeks notice Monday morning and selling all my stock. I would advise everyone to stop supporting this company until they fire the CEO! Tell him to move to Texas if he wants to work for a Texas based company. I over heard in the break room a walk out is planned for April 5. Good luck!

Catering to 14-15 year olds

I have shopped at JC Penney for many, many years and have been very satisfied. But now, they are catering to the very young and left all of us who supported their products for years behind. Hate the store, hate the flyers, have a difficult problem even walking by the store at the mall because it makes me both mad and sad!!!

flyers and store

Why send out all the flyers. I never look at them. A waste of money.I do not like the way they are operating the stores now with the new change. I used to shop very often at Penny's but now I never do. The store in Spencer looks like it is going out of bussiness.

I inquired as to if you will be offering - - shower and window curtains that match together in the future. I spoke to four(4) people who did not know the answer for me. Why not?? This is why JCPenny is not doing well because you do not communicate the appropriate things to your people that we end of speaking to who are not trained properly to the public who asks general, normal questions.

Stockholder in the dark

I now live in Germany but still own my JCP stocks. In the last few years I have received no information concerning the company changes. Only by accident (no dividends) I've found out that a new company has taken over for Mellon. Computershare is a disaster. There is absolutely NO communication. Letters are never answered. I am still wandering around in the dark since I just can't pop into the store around the corner! Anybody interested in buying my stocks?

Deisopointed and Disgusted

I am totally offended that the store that I have relied on for years for quality and well fitting clothes (shopped at JCP almost exclusively) is now a store that I need to avoid. The clothes that were well fitting have been discontinued. While I fully understand the need to modernize, it is importanat not to cut your nose off to spite your face, which I believe has now happened. By discontinuing brands like St John Bay and Cabin Creek, you have essentialy cut you ties to the over 50 market, which, in case you are not aware have tremendous buying power and influence. Shame on you. This is a form of age discreimination

SALON MISMANAGEMENT

I understand that eliminating the reception desk saves 3 salaries, but the chaos created with the dual jobs of the stylists having to take phone calls, set up appointments, and cut/style hair is absurd. My hairdresser who is NEVER running late was 2 people behind do to this catastrophic management misstep. The desk and lobby area cannot accommodate every hairstylist and 2-3 clients waiting their turn.

Do you not realize the bulk of your buyers were ages 45+?

JCP was always my favorite store for clothing. Now, I hardly go there. You took away the brands I liked and it looks like you are trying to attract a younger crowd. Get this. The young girls only go there if their moms also go. Now, you have little to offer the rest of us. So sad. (And many of the prices aren't all that 'reasonable.') I got a $50 gift card from my son for Christmas and I couldn't find anything I liked beyond $26, including tax.I ended up giving $22 of it to my husband because he likes your Arizona original jeans.

Service

You guys have the worst service in the malls. I don't blame the employees at the stores I blame the new CEO. The employees are stressed and you can see it. I feel badly for them as is. Ron if you don't make changes soon all of this will have been for nothing. JCP is going to turn into Sears.

Mattress reselect

We bought a mattress from Penny's and we needed a replacement under warranty. First they needed us to clean the mattress, after cleaning it myself for three hours, I was informed I had to have it professionally cleaned. We were told we should go to the store and pick out a new mattress pay for it and they would send us a check for the first mattress. I called after no check 3 weeks. Customer service in Milwaukee said they would contact the store. Nothing for another week. Called again, called store directly. No check after promising it would be mailed. Called again today, Milwaukee, also Texas and Troy store in Michigan. Still no answer and no check in hand. I thought this was a better company than this. I am now paying interest on a store card because we thought the check would be here to cover the payment! Guess we were fools to think that you would stand by your products!

you have gone from good to bad

you used to be a store that a guy my age could find clothes that fit a 50 year old man.instead you have turned your store into one geared to kids the same kids that have to come to there dad{like me to get money} i dont think so anymore you used to be a great place to shop not anymore.wake up we are the people that have the money to spend not the kids!!!!!!!

Customer Service

Every since the change J C Penneys has the worst customer service. They use to have good customer service now I can't find anybody or a register to even pay at. It's just a matter of time before you go out of business if you keep running your stores backwards.

use of Libbies

I have been told that you are going to be using more of the libbies and closing alot of the registers. I found a problem with the use of the libby not accepting the coupon I had a nd they had to go to the register anyway which took up more of my time. Befor eyou decide to make this move you better get all the bugs worked out or you will loose more customers and you can not afford to loose more again. I know I don't shop at Penneys as much as I use to since you did away with % off coupons.

I cannot stand your print adds or store layout

I have not bought anything from your store since the "big change". I hate the print adds and store layout. I don't like any of your clothes and I do not know who would want to wear them. I shop at Kohls now. They have better clothes that fit right and better deals. I won't be surprised when you go out of business.

Shopper now shopping at Kohls

I have been a long time customer for over 20 years. Now you go into the store and all you find are clothes for small and xsmall young girls. I walk in and walk right back out. They have failed to cater to their long time customers that are now shopping at kohls. I walked into a local store and there was only one girl available for checkout and there was a line but she said there was no one else to help her. Those stores that ignore what the customer wants have no one to blame but themselves and corporate. Bring back the old pennys that catered to the career working girl. I will be taking my business elsewhere!

Turning A Back

JCP has turned its back on thousands of longtime loyal customers. I was one for 40 years. They had great clothing lines at great prices. Wards and Hechingers failed to listen to their customer base and no longer exist. JCP will go out of business in less than five years. No tears, just a huge sense of being betrayed.

Very Sad For JCP

I was a very loyal JCP shopper for years. I bought ALL my clothes there- career and casual and would not think of going elsewhere. My husband and I are going on a cruise very soon so I thought I would get some capri's and some tee's. Oh my- I walked all over that store and the most of anything I could find was skinny jeans!! I found the Women's sizes and the petites easily but had to hunt for the Misses. I finally found it and since JCP was always true to size before, I purchased 2 capri's and 2 bermuda shorts without trying them on. What a mistake! I can barely get the capri's over my thighs! So back to JCP I go and do I get a larger size or get money back? Haven't decided yet but Sears and Kohl's are starting to look better... very sad day because I loved JCP!!!
