Intolerable Room
We had a horrible experience with a hotel in Japan, the ac never worked so the room was always HOT, it was supposed to have a gym, it was an extra charge AND it did not open until 9, long after we left for the day. The internet kept switching from English to Japanese. A lot of problems. I called and spoke to a supervisor who was super sarcastic, saying we enjoyed the amenities. Really?? Being stuck in a hot room that also smelled chemically-this is enjoying amenities??? I asked for a refund and was offered a coupon. I had to fight to actually get $100 cash. The manager was a total tool and probably just mad that he never travels, which is why he is so unwilling to help when customers have an actual problem. Since they got rid of 5-star, I have seen a huge drop in quality.
We slept at airport terminal
Hotels.com booked us in an unsafe and disgustingly dirty hotel. They seem to have no standards and refuse to post our review about the hotel. We called customer service while in the room and they refused to help or cancel the reservation. We told them there was no smoke detector in the room, just live wires where it should be, but they continued to hold out that we could not cancel our resaervation. We called the police in Ft Lauderdale to complain, and they sent the fire department who told us we couldn't stay in that room. Since the owner did not have another room, we we thrown out into the street. We caught a cab to the Ft Lauderdale airport and spent the night in the terminal. Hotels.com did agree to a refund since we did not have a room after the fire department told us we couldn't stay there. One would think that Hotels.com would have some standards, but they still have the company listed on their site. Note that the hotel, America's Best Inn, in Ft Lauderdale has lots of wonderful reviews, but I suspect that they were mostly posted by the owner. There was blood and other bodily fluid stains on the sheets, a hole in the wall, rthe bathroom fixtures had a buildup of rust, and thick mold on the shower floor. Oh I forgot, there were cobwebs in the bathroom againsty one wall. Hotels.com should have some standards for the facilities it lists, and they shoukld be responsible enough to check out when one is this bad.
Hotelscom
When I had 8 rewards credits I was signed into my account to book the 9th one to make me one away from 10 for a free nights stay, Something happened to cause it not to be booked under my account and now they will not give me the reward credit. They are worthless, Their customer service is terrible and they simply do not care, This company does not belong in business. Hotels.com sucks!!!
We used hotels.com to book a hotel in Dearborn, Michigan. The hotel name was A Victory Inn for our children's band finals at ford field house. While staying at this crappy hotel the power went out! We were not ABLE to take showers, HAVE BREAKFAST or see anything we were doing. We had to use the face light off our cell phones to get out of the hotel. You want to oFFER us $25.00 REFUND! HELL NO! i have your corporate number and you will refund all my money. Since when do hotels not have a BACK UP GENERATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER USE THIS SITE TO BOOK HOTELS. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS TERRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hotels.com customer service is the WORST. The person who booked my reservations booked me for Costa Rica when I made reservations for Panama City Beach Fl. When my family and I arrived we had no room. Needless to say I was pissed. The only thing the supervisor Angela offered me was a refund. REALLY?????. After such a screw up that’s all they offered. To add injury to insult Angela hung up in my face I had to drag my children from one Hotel to the next in the middle of the night trying to find some place to sleep. I had to pay another condo way more than then I anticipated paying while they had my money still. I had to call them 5 times before I got my refund because the first 4 idiots never told me that they needed my card # to refund my money. This was the worst vacation ever. I WILL NEVER USE Hotels.COM AGAIN.
Never Use Hotels.com. They could care less about their customers, all thay want is your money. Thanks for nothing Hotels.com, You suck!
they treat you like crap they talk to crazy they do not try to help you and they over charge you say you booked in United Kindom when you live in United States why would i book under UK to goto Chicago from St.Louis ....
Do not use them for any kind of service. Absolutely useless. All they care about is your money and once they have got that get it. There is no customer service whatsoever. You really dont want all the non sense happening on your vacation. Dont waste your time. Even if you have to pay little more somewhere else go with them. Hotels.com is just useless....
I made a reservation for a hotel( 3 rooms) in Maima FL for Nov 24 2012, but the rep that I talk to made a mistake and reserve the rooms for Aug 24 2012.When I catch the mistake they had already taken the money out of my account.I call the company and tries to explain what happen but they told me that there was nothing that they could do,and that I sholud had look more carefully at my itinerary. So I ask for the number to there corporate office and the manger told me that he did not know the number.I have to research and find the number myself,as of now I have not gotten an answer to my problem.I will tell people not to use Hotels.Com
my husband booked 2 rooms in atlantic city at the golden nugget hotel. however we had death in our family and contacted the hotel/ and hotel. com. there was no fee being charged to us for canceling at the golden nugget . however hotel.com wanted to charge us a room fee. of one night any way. the supervisor of the nugget called hotel. com. and spoke to the so called manger name manny to inform them that there was no fee charged for canelling. and to return all monies to us. so far hotel. com is trying to take out an fee from us. in way. when there ad states no fee is charged for canel.please do not book threw this service they are a rip off. hopefully we will get our monies back soon.
I would actually give them no stars. Attempting to verify employment for a former employee of hotels.com, I was given an 800#, which I called twice and spoke to two different CSRs. I knew they couldn't help but both of them assured me they could get me the correct number - both placed me on terminal hold and never came back. That's one way of getting rid of a problem..... I found the Dallas HQ number after an extensive search and called it. An automated answerer said I could remain on the line and an operator would answer - hung up after 3 minutes. I'm glad this happened because I have used them in the past and might have again if I hadn't read all of these comments about their service.
I booked a room for my daughter in LA after she flew into Orleans airport. they informed me the room was only a short drive to her destination. we ended up paying $430.00 in cab fare as this room was in a total different direction from the place she needed to be . I think I will never use this service for anything ever and will tell everyone who will listen about this . unless of course hotels.com would like to pay me for cab fare .
I had a horrible experience with two of there customer reps after explaining an error in there website causing us to stay in a hotel and have to abide by there non smoking policy. The reps were a tier two rep and his manager. After speaking with a rep and asking for a supervisor he said " I will make sure to tell my manager not to refund you anything" "you should have complained sooner" I then speak to the Manager in which has also made sure to be rude and laugh at the fact that I did not complain sooner and I would like to speak to someone higher up. She said I can figure the number out to corporate myself and could find the way to complaining elsewhere. I spoke whith Gale A. at corporate and I have to say she relieved my stress and was aggravated herself to know that anyone in there cust.service dept was speaking to others in that way. She took a personal lead to help accomodate me for the inconvinience & assured me she would take a look into the rude service reps. Thank you Gale, though it took time and effort, it is always nice to know that there is someone always willing help. -Maria
Dear users Please do not use Hotels.com website. They are a con company. They only cheat people of their money. I made a booking through them. They took the money and cancelled my booking. At the hotel i had to pay for my stay again. I send several emails to them. They asked me for my bank statement and i send that also to them. But to date i have not received the Refund. My booking was made in May 2012. As i write this note it is August 2012. I still have not received my refund. This is a CON COMPANY. Users please be aware and DO NOT MAKE ANY BOOKING THROUGH THEM AND LOOSE YOUR MONEY.
After travelling through two provinces and into Maine we arrived at our hotel. Having paid for the room and receiving a confirmation number (for what it was worth) I was not expecting to encounter any problems. At the check-in counter the clerk informed me that I did not have a room. She also stated they were contacted by Hotels.com that very morning to confirm my reservation. The clerk informed the customer service agent that no reservation request had been received. This occurred approximately eight hours prior to my arrival. No attempt was made by this organization to contact me to inform me of the booking error or as far as I can see no attempt was made to secure me accommodations at a different hotel. ESSENTALY THEY LEFT ME STRANDED . Once contacted a refund was offered, like they were doing me a favour. This was my first and last time using the services of this organization! As the saying goes you only get one chance at making a first impression, and they have made a lasting impression. You would be much better ahead calling the hotel direct and securing accommodations on your own. At least then you will be sure when arriving at a destination you will have a place to stay. If you have had good experiences so far with this organization I feel eventually they will drop the ball.
Never use this site without making sure the comsumer service person explains to you how they allege policy works for the hotel and hotels.com. The comsumer service agency never took out the time to explain to me that when booking your room with them no matter what time of the day you book it you have until 12 am that same evening to cancel it. I booked my room with hotels.com at 4;10pm 8-8-12 I assumed I had till 8-9-12 before 12 am to cancel well guess what I was charge for one night per staff because I did not call that same evening to cancel my reservaiton. I had 9 hours to change my reservation or the hotel can charge me for one night and that is exatly what they have done. I was under the impression you at least had 24hrs to cancel your reservation but I guess not according to hotels.com you have until that same evening to change your mind. I wonder whats the legal side of this a comsumer books a room and within the 9hr period and they still get charge for one night it wasnt even 24hrs yet!
This is the most non customer friendly company I have experienced. If all goes according to plan, it works, if not, sorry for your luck. I will never use hotels.com again and I will be telling everyone. Not to mention they blame the hotel for the policy when it is theirs. Stay far far away from hotels.com
Hotels.Com is horrible. I was traveling with my family and booked a room with two double beds at the Crowne Plaza in Natick, Mass. I checked and they gave us a room with one bed and the hotel could not give me a room with two beds (four people in our party)because they were sold out. Hotels.Com just booked a regular room with the second bed being discressionary (I was told by the call center person in India). The customer service person wea horrible. she was just giving me the brush off. I will tell all who are willing to listen about how bd Hotels.com is.
Hotels.com gave me an incorrect description of the hotel, once we got their and figured out that this wasn't what we wanted, we asked for a refund... They were happy to give me a refund, until they called the hotel and found that the hotel wouldn't refund them. I am very upset because hotels.com lied to us! And there wasn't anything on the site that said this place doesn't do refunds. I will NEVER book a room with Hotels.com
Used them before years ago, when things were service oriented, not now!!! Final Straw, booked Hotel in New York City on Hotels.com, a few days later it was $100 per night less on the Hilton website. I called hotels.com, very hard to understand "outsourced" woman said, they could not match the price because I used a "Coupon code" on my order. What the ??? does that mean. If I had not it would have been a 150.00 more per night. She said she could only cancel the order.. So I did, and saved 300.00 with Hilton Website direct.. Who needs this ??
