I purchased an LG refrigerator back in 2009 and right from the get go I have had problems with the icemaker. It is the one with the ice maker in the door and as I am sure you have heard, this is a bad design. I have had 4 different service calls and the icemaker still to this day will not work. I thought about giving up but after thinking about it, I decided to push LG to do something about this. I have to buy ice when cooking for my family. I went firt to my local Home Depot where I bought it and they immediately told me it was not their problem, that I would have to go to the LG Appliance people. Now, LG is saying there is nothing else they can do. Does this seem right to you folks??? I bought the LG because I had heard good things about the company but to my disappointment that was all wrong. I've never been so discuraged. I would like for someone to call me to let me know what we can do to get another refrigerator because another one like this will only have the same problem. Thanking you in advance for your help !! I purchased a countertop from Home Depot, Salisbury, MD. The sales person was very professional and helpful. Once the purchase took place, it was turned over to the expediter(??) which is not the appropriate title. Got the run around from the expediter for weeks until we had to get unpleasant. Expediter said we owed money, Home Depot actually had to give us a refund from our original drawing. Expediter called and said our countertop- (wrong brand) was going to be cut such and such a time- wrong. Finally we get the countertop- cut incorrectly had to take back and re-do a section. Installers were great, very apologetic. We went to Home Depot same afternoon our countertop was taken back, to voice our opinion. No one in the dept. when we got there. Asked for a manager- no manager- on vacation. We asked for an assistant manager- we were told "she" was there, however would not pick up the pages?? Just gave up- very disappointed with the service. Hopefully countertop will come back correct size, get installed and I am done!!!
My 1st time going to home depot seabrook nh..The store is way under staffed..I was setting up for delivery and the salesperson didn't know how to do it? I told him to please ask for help so I know my delivery would make it to my house He proceeded to ask the assistant manager, she popped her head around the corner, answered only one of the many questions he had, she took off to cash out customers in another isle..I was in that store for over 45 minutes trying to get my transaction finished.I asked for the manager..took him another 15 minutes to come to talk to me..He tld me they are doing thei best...not..I will never go back there again..worse experience of my life..oh..also spread the word..hundreds of dollars will be lost revenue..get someone there to clean up their act..thank you
I purchased a new John Deer Lawnmower from the Lexington sc store in Febuary ,when I purchased it the sales person did not tell me that home depot did not honor the warranty and every time the lawn mower brakes down we have to pay 75.00 to have JD pick it up and fix it, after a month and me pushing 2 acres down by push lawnmower they call and say theres nothing wrong with the lawn mower well there wrong they see this as an oppurtunity to make money off of me . we don't want it John deer can take it back to Home depot I've contacted the manager 2 times today with promises to callme back and i've had no return calls I'm not going away I will call an attorney. Now I know why you can't get a parking space at lowes .
I purchased a dish washer from the Home Depot in Waco, Texas - on Waco Drive. The Customer Service salesteam there was great - however, the installation apparently is contracted out of Dallas - not great. I purchased exactly what the salesperson in Waco told me to purchase which was the installation kit. The installer walked into my kitchen, opened the under sink cabinet, and announced that I needed to call a plumber. Home Depot cannot install anything unless it is STANDARD. This is NOT the service I have had with Home Depot in the past. I called the store and the store manager (Charles) assured me he would take care of this - and that he would be relaying this situation to Trish. Apparently he did not because I called Trish this morning who I had to explain all to again - she was very polite but Charles THE MANAGER did not communicate with her. Not good, Charles. So... I have my refund - would rather have a new dishwasher. So all of you out there who have a house older than 5 years and without STANDARD connections, don't bother going to Home Depot. You'll just have to call a plumber for installation. What ever happened to installation people actually carrying adapter kits?
I was just at the home depot on 800 North Brookhurst Street in Anaheim, CA 92801 on 3/26/12. I never write to complain but my latest experience at this store was just ridiculous and I am compelled to say something about it, in hopes that it gets to the right people and something can be done so that it doesn’t happen to someone else. I went to the store looking for a carpet rake that I saw on the HD website. I couldn’t find it in the broom and mop area so I asked an employee named James. He said he has never seen it in the store before. He called the carpet department for me and we walked over to the department. James and I were met with another employee... I did not see his name, but he had tattoos (sleeves) to both arms. The employee told me they didn’t carry it in the store. He asked me if I was sure it wasn’t an “online only” item. I told him I was certain it was available in the store. He said he and another employee had both tried to look for it already with no luck. Both of them said no its not here. I think it is impossible to believe that 2 people walked around the entire carpet department to look for this item in the time it took for James and I to get there. I don't believe they even bothered to look... but reluctantly I went on my way a little upset because I felt like I had wasted my time driving here if the info on the website was incorrect. Before I left I went back to the mop and broom area just to make sure I hadn’t missed it when another employee named John approached me and asked if I needed help. I told him I was just looking for carpet rake but a couple employees already told me it is not available. I kept walking pass him and didn’t really pay attention to him. I walked to the broom and mop aisle and again, no luck. I was about to walk out of the store when I see John walking up to me with a carpet rake!!! He had found the item I was looking for at the carpet department! The carpet rake that 2 other employees that actually worked in the “carpet department” just told me they didn’t have. This guy John (I don’t know his last name but he is an older Caucasian male with grey hair and wears glasses)… needs to be commended because he went out of his way to find an item that I was already told wasn’t available. I didn’t even ask him to do it. On the other hand the 2 other employees need to be fired because they were just too lazy to help me actually look for an item. Either that or they just don’t know the inventory in the store they work at. Both offenses I feel warrant termination, but then again i'm not the boss. All i can say is if it wasn’t for John, I would’ve walked out of that store and headed to Lowes to buy my product. And home depot would have lost my business. Granted it was only a $12 purchase I hope home depot still cares about its customers. And I hope to hear back from someone regarding this matter.
My husband and I went into Home Depot to select a carpet for our family room and living room. We dealt with an associate by the name of Wilkians who informed me that since I had a dog I should not purchase a berber carpet and proceeded to show me carpets I did not want. Since he has never been in my home and does not know the set up or our dog I found this assumptive. Approximately a week later he called my office and asked to speak with my husband. I told him I was Mrs Tucker and he insisted that my husband had called from my office and he wanted to speak with him. He was totally unreasonable and I finally hung up. He later called our home phone to apologise for calling the wrong number. My husband had not called him either so he simply lied. I went back in and met with Odette who was extremely knowledgeable and helped me select the carpet I wanted for the living room. I purchased the carpets on Saturday and was told by that by Thursday I would be called by the installers. I was not called yesterday I called and the same incompendent associate informed me that the reason I was not called was because the carpet was not in stock. He never asked my name or bothered to look up the order. This associate just makes it up as he goes along. I called executive offices who could not see on the order number who I dealt with and so he will not be admonished.
Home Depot sucks!!! I absolutely REFUSE to shop there. I go in there and can't find what I need. Then I can't find anyone to help me. I swear, they all run and hide when a customer is standing in an aisle with a lost look on thier face. The last time I needed about 80 sticks of PVC pipes. I found them, but all there were on the shelf were about 20. FINALLY got some help. I told the guy I needed a whole lot more than what was on the rack. He checked and when he came back said that was all that the store had. I pointed out the little sign right next to the price tag that said, "100 in stock everyday - Guaranteed!" He just stared at me. I said, "Go get the manager." Manager arrived. Explained situation. He just shrugged his shoulders and said, "If that's all we got, that's all we got." I asked, "What about the sign?" He asks, "What sign?" I point to the guarantee sign and answer, "The sign right here." He simply shakes his head and says, "Can't do it." So I say, "Then take down the sign." Then I get the same blank stare from him. SEE YA!!! Out the door I went and never been back. HOME DEPOT SUCKS. DO NOT SHOP THERE.
I have been a customer at the same store for 17 years and have Home Depot credit card. Last month I sent in my payment in full, but it apparently was lost in the mail somewhere, as I have a past due balance on my March statement that came Friday, March 14th. I went to my regular Home Depot store this afternoon and my card was rejected due to the past due on the bill. I don't think that I have missed a late payment or had a charge for non-payment. The attitude by the person I spoke to on the phone was very cut and dried, but the clerk was understanding and polite. I cannot believe that your representatives do not look at past records, or that you do not keep such on your customers. I have been loyal to your stores and have spent quite of bit on various projects and materials. I am disappointed in the current service and believe that I will go the store which is closest to my home, which is a Lowe's store, rather than go out of my way to shop at the local Home Depot.
the worst store i have ever had to deal with. i ordered 2 toilets. 2 bowls were delivered but no tanks. called the store.went round and round with gerry.warehouse made mistake and will have to order tanks again.found out another delivery was on the way to my house.guess what..another 2 bowls.just what i wanted..4 toilet bowls with no tanks.no one seemed to care. i will never deal with home depot again .
okay, I have just heard some horror stories about some stores & would like to share mine. my son is a sub contractor for a company in mass. that puts together all the items for home depot. he has worked in the brockton, taunton, plymouth, somerville, avon, & rockland mass. stores. every night he tells how rude & obnoxious managers & employees are to the workers from his company. my son has worked for other outlets (walmart, christmas tree shops for example) and they demand their employees treat sub contractors working in their stores with respect & cordiality as well as customers. today's event topped the cake so to spealk. after being jerked around by many employees where he could set up to work a woman in the garden dept. where he was told by the mgr. to set up started giving him grief. he jerked his head up from what he was doing &caught the bottom of his eye on a piece of equipment causing it to bleed profusely. he had blood all over is shirt & had to go to his truck til the bleeding stopped. not one person working in that store said a thing to him or offered first aid or assistance including the mgr. I am really ticked off &since all the stores in our area seem to act alike, I will not be giving any of my business to h d any more. I would rather support the little guys in the area. my husband spends a lot at h d & I can't speak for him but hope he'll withdraw is buying there as well. as customers, we have always been treated well but after hearing what goes on behind the scenes ...they really suck! I'm going to find out how to get this to the store mgr. & someone in the corporate office to. sorry this is so long but I'm very upset.
As an associate of Kauai Home Depot and a customer I am very disappointed with some of your policy and regulations and proceedures taken by some of your Head enforcing employees such as Brian head of opporations for store #1705. I feel as an employee and as a voice for customers your company has become more a harassment and less of any sort of pleasant customer service which Home Depot is known for enforcing upon they're employees beyond any honest human possibility. Your store walks should be UN announced to prevent any dishonesty which i am now aware of is happening with alot of your surveys. I would apprciate it if honestore seriuosly than VOC SCORES. I have been told by many customers the VOC is out of a customers way and of no convenience for them. THINK ABOUT IT!
To: Mr. Frank Blake /sexual Chairman CEO 2455 Paces Ferry Road NW Atlanta Georgia. 30339 4024 From: Michael Ray Miller 1600 N. Norma St. #54 Ridgecrest, CA. 93555 Dear Sir, I am writing with a genuine concern over my experiences with your stores. In particular stores in Colorado Springs, CO. San Diego, CA. And Ridgecrest, CA. I am fully aware of your use of staelite to study purchasing of your products/ impulse items, and the fact you have been warned about the following the customer home to watch how the product is used in an effort to sell more goods and raise yearly sales. I believe that i have been victimized by the abuse of this unregulated super powerful tool, or as I see it in this case "Weapon". I am in fear of my life at this time and have felt this way since one of your employees, Mr. Christopher Cornes of Ridgecrest store, and two others teamed up against me with false allegations that put me behind bars and caused an irrepairable amount of damages not only to myself but to my family. Losses that have left me in anear death situation. I would much like to speak with you in reguards to a solution and stragity in redeeming my name and status within the community. Please allow me some time out of your schedule to talk, as I do believe that you care also about the reputation of your stores and employees. My personal cell is 6199299862. Thank you. Sincerely, Michael Ray Miller

Worst experience of my life with this organization. I have spent the last month + trying to get a refund deposit from a truck rental in their Austin store. Because of a key error from the Home Depot employee when returning my truck I have been through misery. Not to mention the complete lack of urgency in the Home Depot customer service department. They have a contract with Penske for truck rentals but have no system of dealing with Penske when there is an issue. I have multiple emails from the corporate Customer Service at Home Depot all saying how sorry they are but never did they go to the next step to help me. I am disabled and on a fixed income and they had my food money-didn't matter to them if I starved they kept saying their hands were tied because it was in the Penske system. WILL NEVER SHOP AT A HOME DEPOT STORE AGAIN-30+ days and still waiting for the check they said was cut and sent express mail-find another place to shop for your own sanity.
i am in alabama and i was at a car repair shop were a mans engine(being replaced)had caught fire in a home depot parking lot. he ran in the store and the manager would not allow him to use the fire extinguisher on the wall inside the door thus his classic vintage covertable volkswagen convertable a classic number 1 top notch imaculent car should be allowed to stay on fire as he was told he would have to go and stand in line to purchase a fire extinguisher to put out the fire, meanwhile the cars fire could very easily spread to other patrons vehicles and cause huge expolsions of bursting fuel tanks thus possably killing other patrons or a (baby) in its car seat OMG have you ever heard of such assenine ahstounding idiocy in your whole life, it could even burn a nice hole in their asphualt parking lot, costing thousands to repair but thats ok???????i will be passing this story onto all my local law enforcement and elected officials during next weeks elections.... um in all the store recorded history how many fires have happened in the store? how many cars have caught fire in the parking lot... now as far as i know all stores ive ever know have had an employee grabbing the extigisher and running out the door to put the fire out, um thats what a person who can actually think correctly would do um right? what if a managers family was trapped in a vehicle in the parking lot bet the policy is different then huh mama burnt to a crisp, wouldnt happen, but to hell with the customer huh? its a true story happened in alabama this year, and soon everybody i can spam, the entire country will know about it, poor old man whoms car was on fire and dedicated fought wars paid decades of taxes, cant use a computer to try and do what needs to be done INFORM People of insane crazy endangering rules a monkey made up.....somewhere in atlanta corperate headquarters..dont shop at home depot, dont buy home depot stock, my brokerage firm of many states will be hearing about it too.. policys like that cant be good for the values of stock either, dump that stock dump that stock, hummm all headquarters job layoffs begin, you guys better get some common sence or be living jobless under a via duct somewhere in fulton county.....can u imagine a military base and a family is visiting and their car caught fire , what do you think the men on the base would do,GRAB AN EXTINGUISHER AND GO PUT OUT THE FIRE..... not home depot.....
For active duty, reservist or retired personnel to get the 10% discount, you must show the clerk your ID card before they start ringing up your items; otherwise, they have to call a manager to cancel out the order and start again, registering your discount at the get-go. I learned that the hard way, but thereafter, I told them "Military Discount Please" and showed them my ID card. Bang Bang, no problems. I don't think veterans per se get the discount as they don't have military ID cards. If there is one suggestion, it would be to post or advertise who gets the discount. I bought thousands of dollars worth before a clerk noticed my retired ID card and told me I should be asking for the discount up front. I know some vets, not retired, that got mad because they didn't get the discount. It would be better for clerks and all military personnel to know up front who has and who doesn't have a discount.
Last year I decided to change the floors in my living room, hall and bedrooms. I researched several different types of flooring at several different stores and finally decided on purchasing my floors from the Home Depot in Lafayette, La. (the store on Ambassador Caffery Parkway) The date of purchase was 11/4/11. The floor was delivered on 11/21/11 which was a week longer than I was told it would be. The installation people came out to my house to install it 3 times, and each time said they couldn't install because my floors were too moist! This house is only 2 years old and I had NO rotten subfloors anywhere. I made so many phone calls to Home Depot that I could no longer keep count of them. I was told over and over again that someone would call me about my problem, yet many times, I had to follow-up. Finally, on JANUARY 20, 2012, 2 1/2 MONTHS after I bought the flooring, I loaded all 54 cases into the back of my truck and returned them to the store!!! I watched while someone put all the info into the computer, gave them all the info needed, and even had my receipt, and was told it would take 7-14 days for me to receive my refund. IT HAS NOW BEEN 7 WEEKS SINCE I RETURNED THE MERCHANDISE AND I WAS TOLD TODAY THAT THE PAPERWORK WAS NOT DONE CORRECTLY AND IT WILL BE AT LEAST 10-14 DAYS BEFORE I GET MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!! Does ANYONE at this store know what he or she is doing? Now, I know you're not worried about my money because you have had it for over 4 months and are making interest off of it all this time, but I trusted Home Depot to do things correctly and ASSUMED they were truly committed to customer service. I will be contacting the BBB about this store and the company in general. I WILL NEVER SHOP AT HOME DEPOT AGAIN. That's just a fact...no matter what price I have to pay, I will buy what I need at another store. It is such a shame that customer service has become so poor. And, I haven't even told you everything that happened. If I detailed my experience, you would be reading this all night! I had to give it a rating of 1 star because that's the lowest score offered. Believe me, there was nothing good about this experience.
I have had a charge account with Home Depot for 6 years. In all that time I have NEVER been late with a payment to them. I am a single mother and right now I think my balance with them is around $300.00. I only use it for emergencies (I had to purchase a new garage door opener a while back!) I just received in the mail a nice letter from them stating that they are cancelling my credit card with them because I have "ration of revolving balances to credit limits too high" and "proportion of loan balances to laon amounts too high." The letter went on to say that my credit score is 624. I looked up credit scores on the internet and 620 - 679 is the average and 60% of people are in this range. Yes, I have debt. - I have student loan debt! How can the average person get ahead without loans? I think it is appalling that Home Depot would cancel someone for these reasons and a credit score of this. I may be wrong but I think this is bullshit. I will NEVER buy anything from Home Deport ever again, even if I have to drive miles out of my way to go to Lowe's. And they wonder why people are against the credit card companies and the way they gouge you. I wouldn't even give them 1 star, but I had too!
I have a suggestion that could significantly enhance your total Home Depot business. When I spoke with several of the local employees they indicated that this suggestion would help your many shoppers. Problem: Because most people are in a hurry and your store is so large and because they wish to find certain merchandise quickly and they don't know where in the store that merchandise is unless they waste valuable time meandering around or become frustrated in trying to find someone who can direct them..... Solution: Why not create a free app that would pinpoint where in the store they could find what they are looking for in that particular Home Depot---Possibly even with a product description. You would find a lot of smiling faces as they leave the store and who would appreciate saving time and enjoy shopping at Home Depot. Store promotions could also be included with the app. It appears that this suggestion would solve many of the complaints I read above. If you feel that this is a good and worthwhile suggestion, perhaps a nice compensating check might be sent to my address--- that would also be nice. Home Depot is one of my favorite places to shop. I would appreciate your response. Thank you!
