I bought a refrigerator at home depot on 5/26/12 they told me it was in stock and would be delivered on 5/30/12 I took off from work and waited for them and they didn;t show i call delivery number for appliance's and they told me it wouldn't be deliver till 6/2/12 no one called me so i took off work and lost a days pay for nothing. I called home depot.com and they told me they would give me a 50.00 gift card and i can print it out. I went to my e-mail address and no gift card there.I called the number for the lady who told me she would give me a gift card and no answer tryed 3 times no call backs from her.So i went to home depot where i bought the refrigerator and they told me its not them its the deliver place. So i made them give me a loaner refrigerator but all they would do is give me a little one to use.I think they should give me the $50.00 gift card they told me they were going to give me.So now i'm writing here.
Gentlemen: As a home business owner/writer-analyst, I have helped to start many a store in retail and resturants, design their computer systems and set up and install all over the world. So this, I have to say to you. My hubby needed a part time job. He felt useless and old. He was going through a bad time after he quit as IR& D Weather chief here at Harris. Harrassed out of that job I might add. He was 64 years of age. So, at 66 he applied for a job with you...part time. He got one in gardening at the New Haven, Melbourne Store. They found out he was educated, had decent retirement and pension and investments and could afford a 6000 dollar countertop job in our kitchen..which we did with that store on New Haven in Melbourne. We live in Viera.Well, they botched the countertop job up BIG TIME. your sales dept. manager forgot to include the plumber. That company wanted us to wait over 1 week for a plumbing invoice from Home Depot...after they'd torn out the countertop and realized the manager of that dept at Melbourne store had not called nor included plumbing costs. Home depot had to pay for the plumbing costs. We had to nearly threaten the sub contracting company in order to get a plumber out there without auth from Home Depot. They had STILL NOT TOLD THEM ABOUT IT. Only one plumber knew he was to come and he was doing it without an invoice authorizing him to do it. He showed up and 45 minutes later we had the faucets and the water working correctly... 3 days without water in the kitchen! The other botchup was the countertop company, but they made it right instantly. It was wonderful working with them! We had lined up for countertop jobs and entire remod jobs with this store, 7 customers! When they found out that my hubby was laid off after only 2 months or 3 months working part time and hardly eVER over 20 hours, they knew one thing: Home DEPOT LOOKED AT HIS AGE and his MONEY, took his countertop money and ran with it! My hubby had COMMENDATIONS TO THE MANAGER from CUSTOMERS. He even turned down during this time teaching positions as a professor in order to keep his part time job with Home Depot. Wel, those customers, or contacts I knew well from Viera and Titusville, decided to go elsewhere. They felt Home depot had DISCRIMINATED AGAINST MY HUSBAND's AGE and the fact that he was not on Welfare, Unemployment, or taking foodstamps. Your survey DISCRIMINATES AGAINST ANYONE WHO REFUSES TO TAKE THOSE ITEMS from state and federal programs. You discriminated against HIS AGE of 66. So your manager there laid him off.. the second one in 6 hired in garden. And that's another thing. You hire in garden because they're needed? Yet, when the store is doing badly and gardening is the only one literally pulling the store, instead of laying off and reoorganizing the depts doing badly, you lay off in the place where you needed them. If these jobs were temporary, why didn't you state that from the beginning? Well, he's doing find. He also develops apps and he's done another one. Working on a solar one. And he has the opportunity to teach online with universities at Patrick, making very good money! But he doesn't want that. He liked Home depot and he misses the guys there. Office depot wants him. We'll see. I know the manager well there. She's fair and very, very good management. Oh, by the way, a suggestion. Your plumbing dept is in horrible disarray at the New Haven Store in Melbourne. Do you even have anyone working there? Do you realize people in gardening were having to try to help customers in plumbing because there was no one ever there to help customers and also the place is in total chaos. YOu don't have even the basic items often. May I suggest you begin a GEEK BAR .. especially where it takes semi-pros...: plumbing, electrical, and general questions about flooring and lamps. Have them there 9-4PM 5 days a week. At least you have certain areas covered with some expertise to help customers. Know you're not doing well in sales and that's sad. You have great products, but if you treat employees like this, and NO benefits working part timers and getting rid of them after training them and so suddenly...well, I'm not surprised you're doing badly. Sincerely, Jerilyn Hicks
June 1, 2012 Dear Home Depot Manager Lisa Adams: My son is a private stationed at Fort Lee in Virginia. His billets, we discovered were not air conditioned and were extremely uncomfortable for the young men and women training there. We went on line and searched for some fans that would provide him with some relief, but were running into problems. The local Home Depot didn’t have them in stock yet and they were sold out everywhere else we contacted. Yet, I have to say that Home Depot was absolutely marvelous! Your staff went out of their way to deliver two fans to my son and two additional fans to another soldier. Thank you for your support of military families. It is greatly appreciated! A special thanks to Linda Gibson for personally delivering the fans to my son on Fort Lee. Her willingness to go beyond her duty to not only satisfy a long standing customer of Home Depot, but to more importantly support our military families is commendable. Ms. Gibson delivered the fans on her own time along with Asst Manager Kip. She was very kind and worked to find the fans that I wished to order over the phone long distance. You have a treasured employee in Ms. Gibson. Her professionalism was outstanding. Once again, words are not sufficient to express my thanks for your assistance and support. My son, our nation’s soldier, is able to sleep at night in comfort thanks to you. It means a great deal to know that Home Depot is behind our military families and supports our soldiers. Our soldiers sacrifice a great deal in order to defend our country. It is comforting to know that you have our backs. Respectfully, Vance and Evelyn Braman Services from Home Depot in Fort Lee, Virginia Manager Lisa Adams Asst. Manager Kip Sales representative: Linda Gibson
I have recently had two very positive encounters with two different sales associates in two different states! In your Natick, MA store, in the kitchen department, I asked a question about a maple cabinet. Chris, whose last name I don’t know, was very helpful and went way beyond the call in an effort to get the information. Although he knew that I intended to make my purchase elsewhere, he spent a long time with my friend and me and made every effort to clarify our concerns. And, he followed up with a phone call with additional helpful suggestions. What a nice guy and what a pleasant experience! The second encounter was a scheduled one, my first ever meeting about the purchase of replacement windows for my home. Justin Bethune, from you Nashua, N.H. was wonderful! What a bright, charming, understated, competent, young man! His presentation was clear and well prepared. He explained everything thoroughly and patiently responded to my not-too-intelligent questions. I am a retired high school French teacher, and very much appreciate and value the oh-so-rare meeting with an articulate and poised gentleman. His easy manner and his seeming mastery of the world of windows and belief in your product made me want to pull out my checkbook and give him MORE than his quote! I am also interviewing two local contractors recommended by the Better Business Bureau, hoping for a considerably lower price. If I had the money, though, there would be not a doubt in my mind! Please know that Justin is a credit to Home Depot, and a great, no-pressure and convincing salesman. You are VERY fortunate to have him! Sincerely, Dianne
Very upset with the type of people u have to manage your stores.I have made it my business to go around to different stores and talk to your workers. I can tell u that every store i have been in all the employees talk about is how bad the management is. The sad thing is that everybody says the same thing. They also say how they fire people for dumb reasons. They say they can never talk to anyone higher up all they get is your h.r service whom when they call all h.r does is call that store manager and let them know someone just called. I thought h.r was for the employees. My question is.... If h.r is always giving your managers heads up who is there for your employees? Home depot is going down very badly. You can not run a business with so many unhappy people. God knows your management sticks together and your employees get screwed. Maybe your employees should get together and have a walkout day so your so-called managers have to really work and see how your employees feel. What is wrong with u Mr.Blake for allowing this to go on?
My father has had the worse experience with Home Depot in Baltimore Maryland. He brought a compressor from them back in December and it stopped working in April. He returned it for repair and as of 5/31/12, he still has not yet received it nor have them given him an expected return date. At this point, he only wants his money back. What is the best possible route he can take that will assist him? The store has been absolutely horrific in customer service.
We use to shop at the Home Depot in Columbia, MO, but we will no longer use thier services. We purchased a storm door and an inside door from them in Dec 2012. The doors have not been right since we bought them. They have been to our home (including the manager) 4x since it was installed and now they are telling me that they are going to have to remove the "sweep" on the top and bottom of our less than 6 month old inside door for it to work properly. The reason that we bought new doors is because of heat loss on our old doors and now they want to remove part of our new door to solve the problem of ventilation. We have kept our storm door window down (even in the winter months) to keep this issue of glue running out of the window, because our house faces the south so they say. Wrong our house faces the west and if we were told that we had to keep our storm window down to ventilate the inside door we would not have purchased 2-new doors to help with the heat loss in the winter..........This is ridiculous, we spent over $1200.00 on those doors and now they want to remove part of the door..........Never use HOME DEPOT ever again.....we will go to Lowe's.
I have just had the pleasure of doing business with Schirrod Joyner of your store on Palm Beach Lakes in West Palm. After going to the HD on Jog Rd and being talked at by an associate then ignnored so she could help someone on the other side of the store, we left and went to the Palm Beach Lakes store. We were looking to replace a vinyl tiling that we were afraid had been discontinued. After looking in several places, Schirrod looked at the top shelf and thought he saw some. He got a ladder, confirmed it was the one, then got an electric lift to procure it. In a town that is known for terrible customer service for all businesses, it was refreshing to be helped by Schirrod. Coming from from a supervisory customer service background; I was impressed. I'm sure with his helpfulness and attitude, Schirrod's career will be long and fruitful.
I recently purchased a vanity top. Because it was a special order due to the color, it would not be available for 3 weeks. After picking it up and "home" installing it with my husband a couple of weeks later, to my dismay, it was the wrong color. I ordered EBONY which translasts to BLACK. What I received was a black top with white swirls going through it. This piece of product is not light weight nor easy to unpack, therefore I didn't check it before unpacking, I had thought when I saw the white swirls thought it was some kind of protective plastic. In any event, the old vanity and sink were dismantled and this was not very easy, so to re-intstall would have been a "bear". Nonetheless, we installed it and I am going to live with it. I called HD and the person who took my order was on medical leave; the other associate said she had a sample of what was ordered. Untrue, the samples were mounted on the display wall and there was no EBONY, only cream and white, but was assured this particular vanity top came in EBONY. I felt HD should give me some kind of discount but the associate didn't have the authority and was going to speak to the manager. In the meantime, I am going to send a letter to the President of HD and let him/her know of this mishap. This is unacceptable -- and HD service department was not very apologetic. It will be awhile before I made any huge purchases from HD. I rate this particular store in Frankfort, IL a minus 1.
I can't tell you the last time I contacted a store's corporate office just to let them know what great customer service I received. But I just had to let HD know about my experience over the Memorial Day holiday weekend at your #1901- Broadview store. I believe I have spent close $2-3,000 dollars on indoor and outdoor plants over the yrs. Last your only I spent about $300 or more. I like your NO hassle 1-yr return policy on outdoor plants if they don't return the following yr. On Sat morning I returned several plants & shrubs without any receipts. I wasn't sure if they would accept them or not. Some -I found the original containers and others I had the original tags. Everybody was so helpful. From the manager who said "no problem just go pick out more plants -to the frontdsk supervisor who looked up all of my purchases from last yrs to the cashiers who did the returns with a smile to the gardening associate who assisted me in selecting a new grill and then offered to put it together while I continue to shop. He truly went beyond the call of duty. I was overwhelmed by the wonderful customer service I received that day. I went home with new plants, 2 rose brushes and a new grill already for B&B. That's what I call team wk-Keep Up the Good Job!
This weekend is veterans Day. Went in to the Okeechobee, Florida store. When checking out my friend who knows I am a Veteran and almost lost my life in Vietnam told the clerk I was a Veteran. She ask for my VA Card. I told her I don't use the VA I pay my health insurance. I told her what my SERVICE NUMBER WAS and she said without a card she could not and would not give me a VETERANS DISCOUNT. THE PEOPLE STANDING IN LINE COULD NOT BELIEVE YOUR POLICY. Retiring from the Corporate World, 100 customer satisfaction was everything. I guess that doesn't apply to HOME DEPOT.
Hello Could you please email at dfave4@yahoo.com your Corporate Office address in Orange County please. My wife has a meeting there on 06/04/2012 and we need some direction.. Thank you D. Favela
I think home depot middletown, customer care and the district manager needs to have a 0 rating but you don't give one. I find home depot employees and management and up disgusting, useless and a waste of my life to try and get help, report wrong doing and such. The district manager, lori, needs to be replaced with someone more competent as well as the management at home depot middletown, ri. The place is also disgustingly dirty. Many of the employees lie, give wrong information, will huddle together talking, run when they see you want help, lie more, and are useless for helping.
Poor customer service, worse management, horrible district manager. Horrible waste of time going in this store. I will not shop this homedepot again.
My local HD store on Minnievale Road in Woodbridge Virginia seldom has a handicapped electric cart that works. However, your neighbor, Lowes, always has carts available and they work ! I am handicapped and unable to walk throughout the store--I can walk to one item usually, but that's it. I would like to be able to shop around throughout the store and possibly find something that I need/want. I can't understand why it is so difficult to have operating electric carts for the handicapped unless maybe Home Depot doesn't really care about the handicapped. For this reason I am about to make Lowes my store for all my home needs. Sorry, but you've had your opportunity to provide necessary shopping assistancve, but you fail to do so.
Beware the HomeDepot store in Pace florida has poor customer service, this has been known to my sister and I for several years. But,we thought we would give HD the benifit of doubt.IN our pursuit of new flooring for my sisters home, the house was measured for carpet a $35.00 fee to be paid in advance. In going over all the paper work,we discovered HD wanted almost $1400.00 to remove the lamanate. This was a joke,we took the laminate up in a day. What a joke, who wouldn't want to be paid $1400.00 for 6 to 7 hours of work. After dealing with HD for several weeks and not finding satisifaction,we have taken our business else where. It seems their installers run the show nickel and dimeing customers,to the point of frustration.Yet they HD hired the installers.I'm not sure if I have made myself clear, but trust me it was a bad experence. No more shopping at the Pace Home Depot.
Last Saturday we were at Home Depot making a = purchase for rubber matts to use on a sidewalk. When arriving at = checkout my wife was asked by the woman at the register what the matts = were used for. My wife proceeding to tell her, the woman asked if my = wife would show her how to use them. So my wife proceeded to take one = out of the buggy and the woman took the other one out. They laid them = both on the floor. At that point both woman (my wife and the clerk) = attempted to walk onto the matts. Well my wife fell flat on her face, = her glasses came off. It was apparent my wife was hurt, she needed help = getting up off the floor. They called the store manager, she filled out = a report about the accident and told use that they=E2=80=99d be in touch = as to what should be done. We had not heard from them yesterday so I sent them an e mail, still = nothing. Well this AM I called the store and told them that it was most = important for them to make the connection so my wife could at least have = xrays. They just called back and told us that they have no coverage for = that. This don=E2=80=99t seem right to me. In the meantime my wife = cannot lift her arm or use it, she=E2=80=99s in a lot of pain.=20 Can you advise me on what we should do? Should they not have insurance = for this type of problem? im shocked at some of the Home Depot reviews. I can honestly say that I would never shop at LOWES EVER unless it was for some lifesaving item that Home Depot didnt carry. HOME DEPOT rules. I have had nothing but excellent service when shopping there. At least associates there ask you if you need help rather than watch you walk aimlessly from aisle to aisle as the case is with Lowes. I never get a hello, thank you, have a nice day from anyone at Lowes. I settle for a kiss my ass just so i know the lowe's associates have a pulse. I have four recent experiences at lowes, all of which were below customer service standards. I have enough experience to know not to shop at lowes ever again. Home Depot is the complete opposite. I dont have enough room to right all the courteous service i have received and witnessed there.
i go to the Home Depot in knightdale,NC.,been going there for 5 years. i went sat. may 19,2012 bought some things and at checkout the girl clerk told me my Military Veterens card for the 10% discount that they always have going on was no good because it didn't say service connected. i just used it on the 10th of may ;it was good then. she said corparate had sent down a notice saying the card had to say service connected. is this how home depot is going to start treating the combat Vets like me. i got your phone number corporate you will be getting a call from me monday morning.
Congratulations to Home Depot's newest regional Manager George Leace.
