I had an illness that caused me to fall behind on a credit card bill. This card WAS NOT a HOME DEPOT Card! The credit card company refused to let me activate my payment protection that I had been paying money on for seven years and had never used, nor had I ever been late on a payment to this credit card company. Home Depot closed my account with their company. Because of the situation that I'm having with another company. I have never been late with my home depot payment. Ive had my home depot card for over five or more years and out of all those years the majority of the time my balance has been zero. Because if I would purchase something I would pay the full balance when I received the bill, or I wouldn't use the card at all. In June I used the card for a large purchase and know my card has a balance on it. That I have been paying on time. Today when the letter came in the mail about my account being closed, I called the office and the representive told me that they closed it based on my situation with the other company. She said home depot didn't know the situation but closed my account based on the report from the company. But never called to ask my side. Home Depot is unfair and I will make sure no one I know shop their. Thanks Home Depot for making my situation worst.
Gentlemen: Your Hyannis, Massachusetts store I know very good things about one employee inparticular. The Home Services Coordinator, Richard Hoxie. He is very hard working generous, knowledgeable about his work & does it very well. In today's world with everyone complaining, I thought it would be nice to give a thumbs up to someone who honestly cares. Home Depot would be fortunate to find more hard working honest good people like that man. Thank You for reading my comments.
Dear sir / Madam, It has come to my attention that the new store manager at your Home Depot on Warren Ave, Portland, Maine is slowly phasing out your electrical expert Arthur Gagne by giving him a random schedule with less hours because he is one on the highest paid employees in that store. He really needs to be there during a normal working day for the working man. Please, do not allow this to happen. Arthur Gagne is a Master Electrician who knows current codes and is extremely knowledgeable and helpful to both contractors and the regular diy homeowner. I frequent this store a minimum of 3-4 times per week to purchase electrical supplies simply because he is available to help me. I use Maine Hardware, another hardware store in Portland, Maine, because they have two Master Plumbing experts on site. Lowes is a great store too but I rarely go there simply because they do not have on site experts. To sum all this up, I find that stores that employ professional experts is a huge asset that draws shoppers from all areas simply because they can get the necessary advice needed for their specific needs while purchasing the stores products. The Home Depot in Spring Hill, Florida has the very worst sub-contractors. I had a granite countertop installed. They arrived late, but did call. The started doing the countertop, and the installer said We Have A Problem; We asked what it was, and they said, the backsplash was cut 2 inches short. He siad I can put a little piece and hide it in the corner. I went nuts, I told him, I paid top dollar for this countertop and I want it done perfect. He said I'll have to take it with me, so you will be without a back splash, we said ok, as long as we could have it for the weekend.Friday we had company coming from out of town. We had purchased a over the counter stainless steel sink, and had it in the garage so he could measure it for the openiing. He measures it, cuts it wrong, and tries to hide what he has done. He leave and my husband checks it out, to find the mistakes. We called the company that installed the counter, and they said their guy doesn't make mistakes. We insisted they fix it, and that we were calling Home Depot! After Speaking to Home Depot, Keith in the Kitchen & Bath Department couldn't get me off the phone fast enough. He made the sale, and that's all he cared about. He dropped me like a hot potato. He said I needed to talk to the expeditor, Brad he wasn't there, and throughout the days, he had no interest in getting back to me. Finally, Wed. comes and the company said they spoke with the installer, and he admitted he made the mistake. They said we can be at your house Friday. We said fine, just remember I have company coming and I need this done. They said not a problem. Friday comes, and they are in my kitchen banging, and using a blow torch to try and get the countertop out that was installed incorrectly. We look at the new countertop and it comes without the edges bevelled. the installer said I can do it, I asked, do you do this for the company, and he said no, but I have done it before. The company told him, go ahead and do it. He starts to bevel the edge and cuts it to thin, he had to take it out and re cut it. I said it needs to look like the other side, he said he could do that. Well, it never looked like the other side, it was dull not polished, and the edges were blunt not smooth. We got another sink, which is an under the counter sink to make things easier. He installs the sink, puts 6 clips underneath, and silicones the sink. Say don't get the plumbing done for 24 hours until the silicone dries. Sat. comes, and my husband hooks up the plumbing, and finds 2 clips holding it, and the other 4 clips just hanging there. Not holding anything up. And my husband runs his hands along the silicone edge of the backsplash to see if it was dry, and it was, however, they didn't use clear silicone, they used white. I have a black countertop, do you know how horrible that looks, one side of the counter has clear silicone, and the other is white. This is totally not acceptable, I hate the countertop, and I WILL NOT EVER RECOMMEND HOME DEPOT TO ANYONE! Nor, will I shop there! Lowe's will be my store of choice. My company came, I had to pay to put them up in a hotel, and now we are still waiting for this to be taken care of. I got no time with my company, and we told them to go have fun at Disney since we had to be home for the damn countertop. Tomorrow they are coming, which is Tuesday,a week after this mess started, and my company leaves on Thursday. What the hell! I am sooo unhappy, I feel Home Depot really owes me on this. Had I been a customer with a million dollar house, I would have had them in court. Don't let this happen to someone else, CAN'T YOU FIX THIS HOME DEPOT! If you truly care about your customers, please contact me: at madatee@yahoo.com
went to home depot big misstake,,,, going to buy sheet rock 20 2x4 12 1x4 box of nails box of screws caulking paint primmer etc... when i was looking at the lumber, all the lumber eas warp so i didnt buy anything iwill never step in home depot
My husband and I went to get lumber from your Safford Az. store yesterday and it was the worst experience ever.. We go to Safford even though Sierra Vista is closer because the people at your store have always been so helpful. However there was a new lady at the lumber entrance where one takes their truck in to choose and load lumber..She said no ticket until we got out lumber. When we did that we went back to her and she tried to charge us 40.00 for the lumber we choose that was 25.97 ea, and when we went inside to check out we had two (2) 39.95 charges for cooling fans instead of the two 2 x4 s we had gotten. All in all it was a terrible experience and my husband says we will never step foot in your Safford store again Cindy and Russell Oldham, Cochise, Az.
I purchased an LG Dehumidifier with a four year extended warranty on May 4, 2011. It was disconnected during the winter and connected again in June of 2012 and it did not work. I immediately took out my extended warranty brochure and called the number. I spoke to a very nice person and was assured I would receive an e-card in 3 to 5 business days. One week passed without an e-card. I called again and spoke to a second employee (very nice again) amd was assured I would receive an e-card within 3 to 5 business days. Guess what - no e-card. Two more times I called and again was going to receive this magical e-card. The 4th call I made I asked to speak to a supervisor and was asked to stay on the line for 3 min. which turned into 15 min. This person was in a different department and assured me he would send an e-card immediately and of course apologized for any inconvenience. He did forward an e-card with 30 min. I went to Home Depot with my e-card to make my purchase. Now adding to my frustration I could not find an employee to ask where I might find this piece of gold as they all seemed to walking around talking on cell phones (do you think they may have been speaking to each other). I finally chased one down and he pointed me in the right direction. Well, it is on the top shelf and so guess what? Again I had to locate one of the people in the orange apron who is not on their cell phone.. He wasn't too happy but did I care at this point? NO! Arriving at the register with my dehumidifer and finally feeling like I had accompolised a great feat I was told when they scanned the bar code there was no money in the account. I asked that they hold the dehumidifier until today as it was the only one in the store. Today I began my calls again and had to go through the same question and answer game. I was told I would receive an e-card with 24 hours. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was put on hold for 10 min. and then was told he acould not locate one so would I please hold for a few more minutes. Another 10 min. and she took my call only to tell me that I would receive my e-card within 24 hours. I asked that the order be expedited since I had waited so long and she assured me she could not. I received it within 45 min. I am sure you receive letters like this all of the time and you should really pay attention to them. I would not go back to Home Depot and purchase a large item again. I do not doubt that your company fully intended to honor the warranty but obviously some of your employees do not know how to do their jobs as they should.
I have been dealing with your Picayune, Ms store on a warranty problem. So far it has been 21 days without a phone call or help. I remodeled my kitchen and use your store, that is a mistake I will NEVER make again. I started on 7/2/2012 and to date 7/24/12 nothing has been accomplished. I have a 15 year warranty on Silestone Quartz countertops (which one piece has cracked). Your store can not even find my account in 2006 where i bought the stuff. What are you going to do about this problem? E D Roach 65 Broadway Lane Carriere, MS 39426 (601) 916-6015
My family and many friends have shopped at the Collinsville Crossing Home Depot for years without many complaints however recently the store manager, Mike Paluzi has felt the need to post his large, never full parking lot to prohibit tractor/trailer semi trucks from parking in the unused portion of his parking lot overnight & is having the vehicles towed without warning & no attempt to contact the driver or the company before doing this. I've parked my rig there one time in the past & recently arrived back in that area with no time left to get to my normal parking area & decided to park there overnight to find that my truck had been towed without warning costing me hundreds of dollars to get it back. The parking lot had been posted only a couple of days before & I didn't see the sign, but if this big store is not going to be trucker friendly I think all truckers, their families & friends should shop elsewhere just as my family & many of my friends will do from now on.

Dear Home Depot, I spend thousands of dollars each year at my local Home Depot and love the products- with the exception of one: your barbecue grills. Specifically, your moderately priced grills are of exceptionally inferior construction. This year, we delayed purchasing one of the Char Broil "Tru Red" or Brinkmann grills because of the truly horrendous reviews. If you put 10 best low priced grills " in Google- these brands do not come up- ever !. With you great buying power, why can't you get a Ducane or Grill King grill that is much better made. Wake up Home Depot!! Norm
I am only familiar with the depot in paducah, ky and they have the worst management of any store I have ever seen. The managers are arrogent, they do nothing to control their employees who usually can not be found. I went to the garden department. I was placed with a lady that was very helpful, then I find out she does not even work for home depot. Upon checking out the cashier was too busy to check me out because she was cussing trying to find someone to load my mulch, and I do mean using bad words. She proceeded to then cuss out a worker that brought her the price on a flower I was buying. She was reported. A few weeks later I went in the store for advice from the helpful one on careing for what I bought and there was the same girl, at the same cashier. I mean really depot? This is bad management.
I will never shop there again I am against supporting the gay
I must let you know the value of one of your employees. His name is Herb Leiker and he works in millworks at Home Depot in Canon City, Colorado, store # 1542. I first met Herb when I began building my log home in Cripple Creek, Colorado. I am from Texas and was familiar with the Home Depot name. From my very first encounter with Herb he has always considered the customer first. He helped engineer custom fitted windows, helped with all aspects of framing, wall and floor coverings, coatings, lighting, cabinetry, doors, bolts, and even a snow blower. Herb was always upbeat, willing to help and took pride in his day to day endeavors. The construction of my project took longer than expected which allowed me time to really know Herb. There were times when he visited to worksite to see how things were going or to deliver building materials. There was a time that the delivery truck could not make it up the driveway due to snow but Herb showed up with his 4 X 4 truck and completed the delivery! If I owned a company, I would like to fill it with Herb Leikers. Through the building process he not only was a great Home Depot employee but became a trusted friend that I could count on. Herb is an employee that must be recognized for his outstanding commitment to doing his job to its fullest potential and for putting the customer first! I have even thought about advertising: "Helpful Herb at Home Depot" or "Herb's Home Depot", "Home Depot...Herb's Store",or "Ask Herb at Home Depot". In closing, I just want you to know that sometimes the positive things that people do to make life easier for others gets overlooked and I felt the work ethic and dedication that Herb puts into his job everyday should not be missed. Thanks for hiring Herb and allowing me to find a friend that helped me and my wife complete our dream home.
Hi I have been a Home Depot customer for many years...however, I will never shop there again from now on. Last week I bought a washing machine from Home Depot and it was the worse experience I have ever had with them. After waiting approximately one week for delivery my washer was delivered and the delivery men attempted to hook it up. They broke my water valve and had to shut off the main water valve for the entire house. This happened on a Saturday evening and they left my elderly parents without water on a weekend night. I had to call a plumber for an emergency call to fix the water main that Home Depot broke. I was billed $400 for a plumbing emergency call and Home Depot refused to reimburse me. I will never purchase another product from them again. Beware of purchasing appliances from Home Depot since they do not give you all the details like I had to disconnect the washer and they would only haul the old one away. Their Sales Person told me they would take away and install the new washer, never mentioning that I would have to disconnect the washer. Decieving the customer must be their goal.

7/14/12 Home Depot Corporate Headquarters Attn: Tinzley, Home Depot Customer Care Team Member tinzley_care@homedepot.com 2455 Paces Ferry Road, NW Atlanta, GA 30339-4024 Phone Number: 1-770-433-8211 Re: Department of Veterans Affairs Discount Dear Tinzley, I have been a customer of Home Depot located in Chico, California since the store opened many years ago. One June 29, 2012, I purchased a hand-held shower head for my wife’s bathroom. While a very nice female store associate was helping this 88-year old veteran select the correct shower head, she noticed that I was wearing my U.S. Army Air Corps hat. She reminded me, “Don’t forget to ask for the Veteran’s discount.” Your “Veterans Discount” had been advertised in my local newspaper (with no specific information) so I was aware of the opportunity and thanked her for reminding me. When I arrived at the check-out counter I removed my Veteran’s Administration identification card from my wallet and was shocked when the female sales associate said my VA card was "no good" because it did not have some sort of writing on it. The cashier then showed me a piece of paper that contained a facsimile of the type of card she expected me to have. I asked the cashier if I could please have the piece of paper that contained the facsimile “proper card with appropriate writing” and she said no, that it was the store’s copy. I then requested the cashier make me a photocopy of the facsimile “proper card with appropriate writing” and she said no, she was not allowed to give them to customers. The cashier went on to state, “You might be able to the correct card at the Veteran’s Administration office.” I told your sales associate that I believed Lowe’s offers veteran’s discounts and she replied, “Maybe you should go there.” I told your sales associate that I was not a huge fan of Lowe’s but that I could learn to like them if the attitude of Home Depot’s employees was so poor. I informed your cashier that I served three (3) years in WWII; one (1) year in the Korean War; and six (6) years in the reserves. Your cashier was unimpressed. While you sales associate eventually gave me a discount in the amount of $4.50, she stated, “You will not get a discount again.” Since that date, my Internet research has uncovered Home Depot’s actual veteran discount policy: “All military personnel and veterans are eligible for a 10% discount at all The Home Depot store locations during many national holidays such as Memorial day, July 4th, Labor day and Veterans Day. Additionally, the 10% discount is available to active and reserve military personnel, retired or disabled veterans and their spouses or dependent children every day, upon request.” Note that Home Depot's ad in my local newspaper did not clearly state this policy. Why your Chico Home Depot sales associate was unaware of the above policy is a mystery but her poor attitude was inexcusable. Further Internet research has uncovered hundreds of veterans complaining about Home Depot’s varying discount policies. I still have no idea where to obtain the "correct" VA card. I highly recommend Home Depot clearly post its veteran discount policy in each store and ensure all associates are properly trained so future confusion and frustration on the part of America’s heroes can be avoided.
Very disappointed that Home Depot has taken a STRICT policy on military discounts. Today I was refused the military discount because I'm not a "disabled" veteran. It is unfortunate that my fellow brothers that were wounded in combat and I by their side was not...I'm considered less a veteran. Thanks Home Depot...same slap in the face I received when I returned from Vietnam. By the way, and I'm sure you don't care but my business will now go to Lowes. I called their corporate headquarters and they told me my VA card was welcomed and all military discounts would apply.
Dear Sir, I work for Southeastern Vermont Community Action (SEVCA), located in Westminster, Vermont. We are funded through a government grant and weatherize homes for people in need in Windham and Windsor counties. We work from the cellar to the attic and insure that their homes are safe and weatherized. On Sunday, July 8th I needed to replenish our tool supply for our crews. So naturally, we spent the better part of Sunday afternoon shopping at The Home Depot in Keene, NH. I spent a total of $4,566.21. The sales people were very helpful and made my shopping experience very delightful. On Wednesday, July 11th, upon close inspection of all of the tools and the sales slip, I noticed that Home Depot had neglected to charge me for 2 DeWalt 18V cordless finish nailers. These were valued at $698.00. On Thursday, I returned to the store to purchase additional items and informed them of the mistake and that I would like to make the transaction correct. My total purchases for the two days were $5,790.03. Upon leaving the store, the sales clerk thanked me and that was the end of the matter. It was apparent that Home Depot's main concern was how did this happen and who was the clerk who rang me up. If this was my store, I would have given some serious thought to the honesty and integrity of the person purchasing the tools in the first place. Upon leaving the store, I felt that the manager or the person in charge of the customer service area was more concerned with CYA manuver than the customer. Just thought you guys in the Ivy Tower should know. Sincerely, William Gembarowski SEVCA (802) 722-4575 x131 wgembarowski@sevca.org
Home Depot Apple valley CA. If you are white, this is a great store to shop at. If you are not white, just take what they give you and shut up. They sent my non white wife home crying, after embarrassing and demeaning her.
