DAMNED SHAME THE WAY HARLEY DAVIDSON TREATS THEIR CUSTOMERS NOW-A-DAYS... Purchased my first HD in thirty years since owning my third-one. Damn thing is metric, inferior in quality compared to a Yamaha! WTF... PURCHASED DURING A "WINTER-SALE" ONLY THE DEALER DIDN'T GIVE ME THE 1000 DOLLAR GIFT CARD OFFERED IN THEIR ON-LINE PROMOTION. At some point during the past 30 years, these dealers (harley davidson) have turned into theives. So much for the old "American Bike" image...The only REAL American bike with solid heritage is an Indian. Maybe these harley dealers need to remember what broken legs feel-like...

Yet another complaint which seems to be growing from what i am seeing. In 2006 I purchased a new model street bob.I went to bike week and thats when the fun started my headlight bezel had all the rivets break off and the gear shifter fell off along with the dust cap on the swing arm.the dealer replaced the shifter and dust cap but refused to fix my bezel nice guys.with in a month i was riding and the check engine light started flashing at roughly 60 mph soon i was blinded by smoke and flames began appearing from the section which holds the battery needless to say i was stranded roughly 100 miles from home and nobody answered the hog number so i was stuck pushing the bike a good 10 miles.they replaced the wiring harness in like a months time and I had roughly 1 month left to the season so im out riding and the primary starts to squeal.back to the shop for another month and that ended that season.I get the bike back and within a week my blinkers stop working properly im talking left turn turns the flashers 4way on, right turn turns the left flasher on turn 4 ways on the horn would blow.at this point im just totally disappointed with the whole bike deal it was, were, and always will be a lemon in my mind.I rode it and paid it off took the bulbs out and was on my way.begining of 2010 I traded up to what i thought would be a nice bike a 2010 road glide which also started having issues and was not living up to the reputation which everybody i ride with gave it it was also a great disappointment the street bob gave a smoother ride it was also having the same squeal noise start to become apparent in the primary and had some serious spark knock reguardless of the octane fuel i ran, it was also starting to knock on start up.so far i was roughly 20k into the deal and decided to cut my loss and run american recoveries reposessed the lemon and I will never purchase another one especially when the dealer is obviously not going to fulfill any obligations to hd in a proper professional manner.who knows mabe that is your intent ,to sell junk built up and put upon a pedistal based on the name your corporation has really gone down the crapper and my new bike will be a victory.

I am writing referring to the HD Alarm Systems. I purchased a new 2008 Screaming Eagle Softail Springer. It came with one FOB for the Alarm/TSSM. This Winter, the voltage dropped on the battery, shifting the Alarm system to it's internal battery. I have been locked out of the bike since early December. I recharged the bike's battery, the FOB battery, tried the Owner's Manual programming sequence many times and purchased the Elec. Service Manual which has a more in-depth programming sequence. I now have learned that the only override is through DigiTech. I have to trailer the bike to the nearest HD Dealer. They said they will pick it up but for over a week now, after 4 phone calls, they are still "we will call you back", seems like they have a customer relations problem as I told them I needed a new battery, the DigiTech service, oil change and service and Detailing, all work would probably cost more than $500. One guy told me they were overloaded with work, OK, I'm not in a hurry. My real complaint though is why did HD design such a POS system that cannot be unplugged, reprogrammed, etc. except via DigiTech? Oh, I got it, it's about control and MONEY. Thing is, I am willing to pay just can't seem to get the Dealer to cooperate. Why can't HD design a simple switch to turn the thing OFF? Most FOBs on cars/bikes, etc. have an override switch/off switch. Even pulling the Master Fuse doesn't work. Anyone out there NEVER, NEVER, NEVER buy an Alarm System with your HD Bike! NEVER!

My husband bought a XR1200 before Christmas and has yet to receive the owners manual...he has called the dealership weekly but still no manual......

My interest today is in regards of the difference in interest rates charged on Harley dealership loans from Canada to the U.S.A. A lot of Harley dealerships in the U.S.A. are charging now around 5% interest on bike loans compared to Canada where the Harley dealers are charging around 10% interest on bike loans.Don't you think if the interest rates in Canada were around 5% that the Harley dealerships would sell more bikes.Just throwing that out there.

Harleys are the best ride out there, but the Dealership in Manchester New Hampshire is horrible. I am a 60 year old Viet-nam Veteran, and I was lied to and insulted on the show room floor of this (Heritage HD of Manchester NH) NOT COOL!!!! I am a Cancer survivor and have Aschemic Heart disease, lived throuh the war, and 3 seperate heart attacks. I finally decide to get back on a motor (FLSTF/2007) and I try to deal with this place, they would not budge on a seat (a lousy butt pad) I found this to be wrong, then I rememberd that HD went the way of the Yuppies, and forgot about us guys who actually through hard riding and loyalty built the companies bank roll and back bone. I have been a rider of HD's since the 1960's to 2010, I guess 2011 is not going to happen. Well, I know that HD really does't care about the under 7 digit income people but guess what I do and I will not put up with being insulted and lied to by any one. Keep on hiring those people who do such a wonderful job of selling your products, and you will always have a shelf/floor full. John Gobin/Ex-supporter of HD

I bought a 2010 Super-glide custom from grand rapids Harley-Davidson Nov 16th, I get it delivered about 3 days later with no keys. Call them up and we order keys at their cost since they lost them on a new bike. 2 weeks later I get keys in the mail and they don't work. Call them again and they come and pick the bike up to pull the ignition and se what numbers don't match. Takes them almost a month to get my bike back with proper keys. I get the title in the mail about the same time and it states the odometer had 2 miles when I first looked !t it there were 14 miles on the bike. No idea if they are trying to cover anything up or not but have heard more people complaining of this dealership doing unauthorized or unwanted warranty work to get extra money. I will be calling in the morning to see if there were any warranty claims on my vin number.

I brought a 2010 Wide Glide from TSI in Ellington Ct. for msrp, I went to trade it in at Petersons Harley, Miami Florida a yearlater w/7500mi and I am told that the value has dropped to $9,000.00, less than a 2011 Sporster. I have great concern that a american made motorcycle value will drop almost $6,000.00 in value within 1 year. The sad part about this is the dealer said if I want to get more money sell it privatly.. If this is the way Harley and its dealers are going to treat its customers,it gives me pause to believe harley and its dealers have no respect for its customers and the value of its motorcycles are worth no more than the cheap made clothes from china that are sold in this country for high dollars..Harley says they are a american company with pride, but it seems that it customers are treated with disdain..... Thank you for helping me realizing that harley does not care about its customers(repeat not)

Ijust have been reading from some of your unsatisfied customers. I have a1997 1200custom sporster.Ihave enjoyed my bike.Ihave owned it for about 5 or 6 years and invested about 9000 thousand dollars in it.Im just a factory worker and live from payday to payday.I have a wife and 12 year old daughter my daughter is a real Harley fan.I have just been thinking about some ideas for anew design for your sporsters. Imyself like the way your 97 models look better than your new models. We do alot of mountain riding curvey roads.Your bigger model bikes just wear some riders out.So drop me aline or give me a call we can talk about some of my ideas.Id like to be the first owner of a SS Sporster.Ithink this bike would be a Hott Item.Maybe we could both come out to the good you know what i mean. Sales goes up for HarleyDavidson and i could have a Bike of my Dreams.Hope you find this interesting if so give me acall. Thanks for your time. 423-753-8451 or 423-741-1683

Did do a verbal agreement to have an estimate done for some repair work, at harley in omaha. Before the estimate was done the service rep told me that it would be $40 for the testing of my battery. now I'll get stuck with a bill that i didn't authorize; not verbally or written. 12/08/10. I feel I was taken advantage of. The estimate was for Repair work on some fenders. Please keep my email confidential. doingright@hotmail.com

just recently purchased a 2011 heratige.while riding noticed a noise in front end.they picked it up checked it out and said this is normal.made arrangements to pick up on weekend.coming home on friday noiticed my bike is in the middle of my driveway.never got a phone call that they were delivering it.mind its dark and my town is not the best town if you know what i mean. while put bike in garage i noticed things missing.windshield and a saddle bag,no key but ignition unlocked.so i ask who or where is my key? this is due to YANKEE HARLEY IN BRISTOL CONNECTICUT. p.s. i also have the v.i.p. service wow do i feel special NOT

Harley davidson of clayton county, poor customer service. I have been trying to get a refund on my extended service plan for 2 months. They do not return phone calls and make up excuses as to why they have not procured my refund.Funny how they were more than happy to take my money up front but do not give a damn about refunding the unused amount which was never used and resulted in a 100% profit for them.

Been riding 44 yrs..I have purchased 32 motorcycles total! This is my first Harley Davidson and was purchased from BLUE SPRINGS HARLEY DAVIDSON IN Missouri. All I've got to say is "WOW"...Never have been happier with a dealership or a motorcycle!! I purchased a 2010 "Classic" in June 2010. Rides and handles better than any other bike I've ever owned. Best dealership I've ever been to.Your overall Company as a hole is a GREAT COMPANY. I will never buy another brand..... Just wanted to let you guy's know!!!

I just wanted to let Harley Davidson Head Office know the problems I went threw to get a key made for my bike. I lost my key and needed to have a new one made. I went to the Harley Davidson Dealership here in Lloydminster, Alberta on Sept 7/2010 and pre-paid $37.78 for 2 keys. Today is Oct 27/2010 and I still don't have keys for my bike. On Oct 15th the dealership called me and I picked up a set of keys. When I got home I found out they were not the rught ones for my bike. I took them back to the store and they checked it out and I was sent the wrong keys. There is now snow on the ground and every winter I put my bike in storage. Now it is sitting in my back yard covered with snow. Along with missing out on over a month of good weather for driving. I love my 2005 Springer Softail Classic, but am disappointed in this service, but still love my Harley, I just want my keys..

Long story short, took my 04 sportster to have my carberator looked at and possibly adjusted depending on if there was any problem with it. Drove it up there myself no problems to drop it off. They tell me it would take a day and that they wouldn't add any new parts to my bike until talking to me first. So I get a call from them the next day and they tell me that the carberator is broke and that whoever worked on it before was to blame. Funny considering the fact we bought it new and have never had anyone work on the thing. So I ask is there anyway they can put it back together so that i can at least ride it out and they say "No" you need a brand new one and its gonna cost over $500 for the part and labor. And to top it all off the guy in the front office named "Richard of Legacy Harley Davidson in Odessa TX" says i have to pay for three hrs of labor, and other parts they replaced without my consent and walks off. Come to find out they only maybe spent 2 hrs on my bike instead of 3. Mechanic who actually worked on it had the decency to tell the truth bout that. So now im out 200 dollars with no bike. Not even a sorry and have a great day?? I would've at least liked to have had my bike returned to me the way i left it. If anyone has any advise for a guy who would love to complain to someone worth complainin to let me know. Writtin on 10-20-10......

i bought a buell from harley davidson of atlanta in 07 off the showroom floor. so far the transmission, the gearbox, the entire wiring and eletronic system, adn the fuel system has been replaced. all of this was manufacturer or mechanic problems. its still not running. so now i am forced to solve this issue since the dealership i bought the bike from cant fix it. wtf

DELUXE HARLEY DAVIDSON IS AN AMAZING RIDE FOR ANYONE I purchased my Deluxe mainly because of its good reputation for comfort, and handling. For up-grades I added long shot exhaust, chrome front end package, mustache engine guard, removable windshield, wide glide handle bars along with a breath taking custom paint job. Finally, the most important advice I have to offer is… dependability! every time you decide to venture out. I highly recommend the Deluxe to either male or female riders. Take my advice you won't be disappointed. I first heard about Latus Motors Harley Davidson through a friend, who knew Marshal Nash and Bobby Scull and said they could be trusted to service my 2009 Softail after my unfortunate and unexpected accident in June. I was very nervous, but gave them a try. I am happy I did! Bobby provided great service, repair, as well as being very friendly in the process. Marshal provided excellent customer service in helping me personalize my bike every step of the way. I am having Bobby put a few other "touches" to make it my own. I'm very excited, and know that the finished product will be everything I hope it will be. I would recommend anyone with motorcycle repairs to head over to Latus Motors Collision Center. These guys take pride in their work and your safety. The only thing that I can say is if you want quality custom paint for your bike then Jason Prouty at Garage 31 is where you need to be. I took my 09 Deluxe to him because he was highly recommended by Latus Motors Collision Center to complete the artwork. He worked in conjunction with Bens Custom Paints who provided the base coat (black cherry) that’s nothing short of breath taking! Absolutely dazzles the eye. What is really impressive about the angel images is the full set of wings on the tank that Jason had to create free hand. The detail is incredible, every feather was painted individually. My husband and I gave him ideas on the art work; however what he did is beyond phenomenal! The remarks made are nothing short of incredibly amazing.

I bought a new FLHT IN 2006 it has only has 25,000 miles on it and had to get the cam chain tensioners replaced I heard this is a ongoing problem When is Harley going to make this high cost problem right?????????
