I had my 2009 taxes done at H & R Block and they forgot to add one of my w2's into the system and now I owe the IRS and all they can say is that they made the mistake but they are not responsible for the fees because I did not purchase the peace of mind. I will never get my taxes done there ever again. They do not explain the services correctly and they will not refund my money that I paid to have my taxes prepared

H&R maid a big misstake on my 2008 taxes by telling me and my wife if we file joint together we would recive a $8,000 dollar return The aduter told me I would not been audited if this did not happen The H&R Burton Michigan did this misstake and we was told we would recive the money for the misstake and also 5000 for the bid misstake the H&R Blook are liers the company needs to teach there people how to do taxes before saying you have returns. H&R insurance you pay for dose not help you at all... Ed

H & R Block messed up both my federal and state ammended tax returns. On the federal they reported that I had made a $3900.00 payment on the original return, which reduced the amount that I truly owed. Needless to say several months later the IRS informed me that I owed them an additional $3000 and they hit me with all kinds of penalties and fees. On my state I went from getting a $600 refund to owing $1100 back to a refund of $600. Arent these people supposed to be tax professionals?! The thing the gets me is that no one has offered to refund my prep fee of pay the interest or penalties as stated in thier guarantees! What a bunch of crooks!

On March 27 I filed my taxes with h&r block- biggest mistake of my life! I'm 19 and this is the first time I did my taxes. I asked for my money to be deposited into a bank account. As time went by, I noticed my money hadn't been deposited yet so I contacted the lady and she said that she would call the IRS and see what was going on with my refund (this was towards the end of April), she said since it was my first time filing that it would take longer which was total BS. On June 28 I contacted the IRS and they told me the money had already been deposited. So I call this lady and she said she had made a mistake in the account number, and that the money had gone to a prepaid card that was sent to her Nd she thought it was hers. TOTAL BS! because I called h&r block and they said it was put onto an emerald card and that card is given to you personally at the office. So now that I have an investigation going on I haven't heard any updates. The DM from that area contacted me, but he's just giving me the run around. Obviously, clueless. This clearly looks like fraud and h&r block is being completely unprofessional with the way they do things. I hope people nationwide file taxes elsewhere and strong going to these guys. You'll eventually get screwed over!

We chose this company in Tillamook Oregon because we depended on the reputation of the name instead of going to another company that we had no history about. That seems to be a BIG mistake. We brought our taxes in a couple weeks prior to April 15th, knowing they would file an extension for us. We are not in a pay out situation and there were others that needed to be completed in front of us. They said it would be a couple weeks and they would get to work on them. Well, it's now August 4th and we still don't have the completed taxes back. It seems to be one thing after another with this office. There will be letters written to corporate and any other overseers that may have some authority of these people. We were lied to and delayed over and over again. There may be some employees that are reputable with this company but seeing these other reviews, it seems there are very few compared to the incompetent. I will never again cross their threshhold after this year.

Greetings! I know the cure for H&R Blocks poor performance record, We all get together and file a class action suit against them, Also file for a court order to freeze there assets until a complete investigation can be done. Contacting the Attorney Generals Office is a heads up! That should do it!

Went to HR Block on Ashland near Belmont, Chicago seeking advice on IRS review of 2007 taxes. Agent quickly looked over documents, spoke to me in a condescending way, and told me that she found a line item that if she worked for IRS this would have been questioned. No sound advice wss given except their review was correct and I was liable for the IRS determined balance due. As this was a consultation, there was no fee for this worthless conversation. I was then told that I should not come for a consultation on the deadline date of tax filing. I did not realize that H&R block had a specific time/date schedule for various tax matters. I was most disappointed and frustrated at the lack of concern and assistance. In addition, I planned to have H&R Block prepare my 09 and 10 taxes, but with the non professional and lack of interest attitude of the tax agent, I left and had my taxes prepared elsewhere. Will never opt for H&Block service.

THE ONLY REASON I AM GIVING YOU 1 STAR IS BECAUSE I DO NOT SEE A ZERO. I HAVE HAD MY TAX RETURNS DONE BY YOUR COMPANY FOR 10 YEARS NOW. THE LAST FEW YEARS HAVE BEEN MISTAKE AFTER MISTAKE. 2010 THE PERSON DOING MY TAXES AT YOUR WADSWORTH OHIO OFFICE GAVE MY WIFE THE WRONG SSN. THIS CAUSED A DELAY IN MY TAX RETURNS AND SHE STILL CHARGED ME FOR THE RAPID REFUND. IN 2011 WHEN I MENTIONED THE MISTAKE SHE TOLD ME THAT BECAUSE IT WAS HER FAULT SHE WOULD REFUND MY RAPID REFUND MONEY BUT SHE NEVER DID. I CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND SHE WOULD NEVER RETURN MY PHONE CALLS. SHE HAS BEEN AVOIDING ME AND HER MISTAKES. ALSO IN 2011 SHE MADE THE MISTAKE OF NOT ADDING A 600.00 DOLLAR EXTRA JOB TO MY RETURN WHICH CAUSED ME TO PAY MORE IN TAXES THEN I WAS ORIGINALLY QUOTED. IF THIS IS THE WAY YOUR COMPANY DOES BUSINESS WITH THERE CUSTOMERS YOU WILL BE GOING UNDER VERY SOON. AS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY, CAN YOU SAY JACKSON/HEWITT CAUSE THAT IS WHERE I AM GOING NEXT YEAR. I am writing in regards to Tax Preparer at the 512 W Stassney Austin Texas location. This Preparer was not informed on how to prepare The Adoption Tax Credit. She was one BIG DUMMY!

My name is Sima Pirnia. For the first time in my life after using the great turbo tax to do my taxes on line I decided to try my simple tax return with H & R Block free on line edition. What a horrible experience. First after I filled in the free return I was told that now i have to pay $119.00 for the return to be filled electronically. I am a civil engineer with a master degree from Imperial College, London University and i have worked for 25 years in Town of Greenwich, Ct., DMJM HARRIS (AECOM) in Stamford Connecticut and also Westchester County New York and has always been the lead technology officer in my departments. i have worked with computers all my life and am proficient in programming , data base management, geographic information systems and many other technical writing, presentation to public and Government and Planning boards. I was always a first class student so i am very smart and not an average stupid client who do not see a scam as it comes. But unfortunately I made the first mistake of my life by paying the fee thinking I would get great service from your company. What a great mistake, not only you are inefficient but your level of service is so poor that I have never seen such uninformed tax accountants in my entire life. Not only you scammed me to pay the fee of $119.00 for the simple return that a child could do, you gave me bad advise , wasted my precious time ( for me time is money) and your staff were so confused and unprofessional that that they could not give proper instruction for my simple return. After two weeks of going back and forth with my return and bad advise they told me to go to 600 summer street in Stamford CT> to get the form 8879 and sign it there and fax it to the company attention Nancy and Matthew Grabel. After waiting in that office for 10 minutes they refered me to a chinese lady and when I told him what I need she looked blankly at me and told me she dose not know anything about the tax return forms or how to get the forms. She told me go the computer in the middle of the office and try to find the form and do everything yourself.It even took her 10 minutes to send me to wrong web sites and after that I told her you better leave since my knowledge seems to be much better than you. After searching around I finally find the form and printed it with my documentations and returned to the chinesse lady accountant to take it to fax machine. again she told me she dose not know anything and dose not know where I have to sign the form and what the form is about. So I asked another tax expert of the Great H & R Block company to take me to fax machine and show me where to sign the form. First of all she also was unaware of anything and told me you are on your own, I do nor know anything about this form, but she took me to the back office and showed me the fax machine. she did not even know how to fill in a fax cover sheet. In the middle of faxing she left the back office and left me on my own. All of a sudden another lady comes in and sees me alone at the machine and starts screaming that you should not be here since this is our cofidential records office and nobody except the staff is allowed in here. After screaming I finished the fax and called Nancy at 860-489-0333 and then she told me she has recived the fax but the signature is in the wrong place. All the above wased 30 minutes of my precious time and made me emotionally disturbed since the level of unprofessional behavior and education of the staff was unbelievble to me. finaly a lady with the name of Althea S Brown, MBA who was an office manager came in and told me they should have sent me to her right at the beginning. I think she knoew her staff are uninformed and hae no proper training and excuse my language stupid too. She told me where to sign the form and took it to the fax machine and finally faxed it. When she returned she talked to Nancy who said it is OK now. Another 15 minutes of my time wasted. The office manager was embarrassed about their service and I told her now I am going to be late for a very important appointment in New York City and the hour I spent haggling around with different machines, being scream at, being left alone and faxing the simple form 3 times has cost me $400.00 since my client in new york is going to be mad at me for being late and I have lost my business which could bring me a lot more money later. If you appear late for a meeting with a client the level of trust is broken and you might end up not getting the consulting job since the completion for work in my field is very strong. So you see Sir or Madam your unprofessional behavior not only cost me the initial fee of $119.00 that I paid you it also cost me $400.00 in beginning to meet my client and thousands of dollars in later consultation job for me. Now only not I am emotionally disturbed but I have lost thousands of dollars in consulting fee from my own client. I am planning to get a lawyer and sue your company for wasting my precious time and making me lose thousands of dollars in future. Before the law suit the least your great company can do is to refund my $119.00 since your services did not even worth a penny. I will send this notice to your headquarters and your chief executive officer and your CFO. And i will intend to tell all my influential friends and clients in Town of Greenwich, CT. , Westchester County New York and all technology offices in Stamford Ct. not to trust or do business with H & R Block any more since you scammed me and treated me with disrespect and also you do not have professional staff at least in 600 Summer Street, Stamford, CT. I would like to commend HRBlock office 23769, New Albany, MS for their help in resolving an extreme employer W-2 error for us. Tax advisor 4, Danny Wilson and office mgr., Kathy Burch went out of their way to make it right. Having read some of the blogs posted on this site, I realize that some folks are not happy with HRBlock, and some with good reason. We just wanted to let you know that HRBlock does have some competent, professional and resourceful employees.

H and R block shouldn't even get a rating of one star. They are the worst tax place you could ever go to. The told us that we were supposed to get back 6 dollars in state taxes and then we get a letter from the state revenue service saying we owe taxes. I called the h and r block I went to and there computer had changed the amount saying we owe $1500.00 and they didn't even notify us. If I hadn't of called we would have never known at least until next year. I asked the lady what happened and she couldn't even tell me..all she could say was oh I must of hit a wrong button or put something in wrong. How are you supposed to be the best tax preparers but you can't even figure out what you did to mess it up. Oh and to make matters worse we did that loan thing they have and they gave us our estimated refund amount which was totally wrong like 7,000 dollars less then what we really got, that's not anywhere close to an estimation!! I am so mad and will never go back to h and r block and you can best I have told everyone I know not to go there either.

hr block told me i will get my state check in the mail . well tho whole time im watin for the mail (after a whole month ) the told of the state got it , they playin wit my money i will never fill wit them and im lettin ever body no that hr block is some bull shit
