I bought an H&R Block At Home tax program from Office Max and after trying to get sensible numbers on my 1040 I gave up. After five telephone sessions with your customer service people I was advised to return the disc for a and copy of my receipt to your Kansas City office for a refund. You then emailed me a downloadable version of the program which again put entries on my 1040 that again didn't make sense. I called your customer service people again and no one could explain to me how the program arrived at the figures I got on my return. I spent about a week talking to your people during this period and was given seven different case numbers from seven different people and still have nothing to show for it. I just hope they refund my money. DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH H&R BLOCK! All you'll get from them are headaches and an empty pocket!

I completed my taxes online, but never submitted it. However, once I called IRS....they told me that my taxes had been filed. H&R Block gave me the run around and would not give me a voucher to correct their mistake. I tried to file with another company and could not because H&R Block had already filed my taxes without me submitting it. Furthermore, they keep telling me that they didn't file it, but I have proof from IRS. And they are still giving me the run around. Please do not used H&R Block.

I just had the worst experience with this company. I filed they told it would be in account in 7-10 days its been 12 days. i called the place in Union,NJ on stuyvansin(itsmiss spelled) the guy who did my taxes Kevin Lynch. tells me that the money goes to there account prior to arriving on mine.ok i have no problem but then i ask him so were is my money if this is protocol why was i not informed of this prior to filling my taxes or even while he was filing and then he has the nerve to tell me oh you didnt ask then he gives me a number to call to track the money.now last i check i was charged a lot of money for these services how dare this company charge me and then tell me i have to do the leg work. it his responsibility to find my money thats his job.i am very upset and i will never file my taxes at any hnr block and i will make sure that my friends and family dont either. worst service EVER.

hi me and my husband have been filing our taxes with hr block for 4 years and this year was very different on jan 27th we went to file our taxes and the guy who did our taxes could not find us in the nationwide system he even looked in previous years and could not find us in the system he had to put us in as a new customer also we had an emerald advance so we should have pulled up in the system which is concerning to me that my husbands personal information is out there somewhere where hackers can get it we was told that we would get our taxes deposited onto the card feb 8th called the card no taxes we called the irs and they said it was a problem with our taxes and it got fixed feb 6th and that it would be 6 weeks problem with that is i used my rent money to run on i was going to pay my rent with my taxes that i did not get i was getting evicted feb 12th but god came through and we got our rent paid so we went down to the local office and spoke with the manager and she was so rude we had to call the irs from her desk while she finished her baked potato we wasted 4 hours of our time when the manager did nothing mind you we paid them 200 to do nothing by this time we still do not have our return and we went to the local office again to see if the district manager could do anything we was in her office for 4 hours and she was very very rude she did not talk with us at all while we were on hold she was blaming it on the irs not them when the whole time it was hr block they are the worst tax company i have ever seen in my life they lost a customer who has been with them for 4 yrs

my mother and me went to this office h&r block in fordham road at 2477 frand concourse on january 28, 2012 to file my mother taxes.and this woman named roberta hairston she charged my mother $324.00 for fees forget about the discount which it came out to $295.00 and the amount due was only $29.00 and then in order for my mother didn't had to pay the federal she told my mother to pay the federal $176 .so my mother got her check and it was only $63.00 and i file to save my mother money the same woman did mine also and i supoose to get $63.00 also. i still did not recieved anything at all.to tell you the truth h&r block it's bunch of theives in there. so i went to the office to confront them why i still haven't recieved m check and the dumb lady said to me "oh the irs was late" i don't buy it at all. someone is trying to cover someone behind here. andshe showed my paper to the manger and she said that it takes 2 to 4 weeks. can you believe that. oh another thing is whoever has the mangaer e-mail address to send her an e-mail to her is a fake one. because i sent this lady three e-mail and i got them back to me saying thereis such name or e-mail. and her name is maltilde minyetty. to me they stole from my mother and from the government. so monday i 'm going to report this h&r block from fordham road

We got our taxes done @ H@R block in Bartonville, Il. That was a mistake. The lady doing it seemed nice and sincere till the end. She said there was a coupon for 25% off on the internet which she looked for for ten minutes. She finally pulled one out of her drawer or file cabinet which she had the whole time. She charged us $275 and took $25 off for the coupon. 25% of $275 isn't $25 dollars. I will never go back there, she acted like she was giving us a deal, when she was going to charge us #250 anyway. A couple of my friends got theirs done there and that's what they were charged. What I was wondering is do they make up prices or is there some set price list. Would like to know. Screwed up company, don't go there! We will do own taxes next year that's for sure.

I have been doing my taxes with h& r since 2006, and I must say it has been a complete nightmare. In2007 my taxes were done incorrectly and I received a letter from the state department of tax. and was informed I was being audited for 908.00 for a error made on my taxes. The dummy who prepared my taxes failed to do my taxes correctly. So June 2011 I submitted a claim, which was denied because the time of three years has passed so H&R owes me 693.00 for monies owed to me. The only thing that was done correctly was the audit it was removed and the balance of 693 is still owed to me since Feb 2007. I been loyal to H& R, even preparing my taxes this current taxyear and the year prior. This has been a complete disaster. I have submitted claim after claim and still nothing.... I am extremely disappointed in this company & I will never prepare my taxes with this company ever again!

As everyone else I have talked to I was scammed by H&R Block. I told myself I was not going to go through H&R block this year but I should have qualified for the free return, but leave it up to H&R Block to find a way to not only whindle me out of money but I was charged more this year for my taxes almost $250 when it was suppose to be free. The agent that did my taxes even said I would qualify for the free tax. So how it went from free to more than I paid last year when I had many itemized deductions, and this year my taxes were a simple 1040EZ and I was charged more for my taxes. H&R Block is the biggest scam out there. DO NOT TAKE YOUR TAXES TO H$R BL$CK.

I made the mistake of having H&R Block prepare my 2011 tax returns. Let me tell you how much they suck a%#. I had my federal refund post to my emerald card account. And two days later someone hacked into my account and went on a spending spree. (NOT SURE HOW IT HAPPENED BUT IT HAPPENED) I immediately contacted the dispute office and was told to leave a message and someone will get back to me. Well it has been 9 days and no one has contacted me. I have been calling and emailing them constantly and still no help. Not to mention when I call customer service I have to speak with an agent somewhere in India who don't have a clue on what to do. It sounds like they are reading from a script. They don't know how to be empathetic or compassionate. They are in a third world country for christ sakes. Bring our jobs back to America. I don't feel comfortable telling my personal info to someone in third world country. I can not be by myself on the way I feel. Anyway, I still have not resolved my dispute and that is sad. This will not happen to me again because I am never going back.

I had my taxes done today at the local H&R Block and if it weren't for my persistence on dependent status and marital status,I would have been out over $2378. When I found the mistake and returned to the office that same night,the initial tax preparer was so rude...I had to schedule another appointment later that week with the office manager and she had to redo the amended taxes again (3 times my taxes had to be recalculated) and advised me that I would have to wait for my refund to arrive and then they would file an amended form to get the rest of my refund for me. This could take up to six weeks. I did receive an apology because I was so pissed but no reduction to cut down the fee they charged for preparing my incorrect forms. I paid them $447.75 to do my tax return.I was told that it was so expensive because of the HSA form that had to be filed. She told me that I would not be charged for the amended form as I had purchased peace of mind!! Ridiculous....I have put a call into Corporate. This is not right......I will go elsewhere in the future.

I have a question for H&R Block. Why am I paying for a Refund Anticipation Check and the “Bank Fees” for it and given a date to pick up said check and now it will not be ready for another week or longer? Is it because you are not anticipating anything and you are actually waiting for the funds from the IRS and simply forwarding the funds to your bank and making a profit by making people believe that you are taking the money from your bank in the form of a loan and giving it to your customers? How do we, the taxpayers who pay you a lot of money to prepare our taxes, are curious about this? Well apparently the IRS had a computer malfunction and they have been delayed doing tax returns so the “Refund ANTICIPATION Checks” from H&R Block are also conveniently delayed as well. But my return was sent a week prior to the malfunction. Doesn’t this sound a little fishy to anyone else?

dont worry folks, yes you got taken by one of the biggest scam artists of all time, well me too. M y wife and I got nice returns in 08-09 only to be examined by the IRS at the end of 11. and you guessed it , now we owe the IRS almost 5000 .So I had those returns amended by a private company[yep had to pay again], and they told me strait up. HR E FILE MADE MULTIPLE MISTAKES ON OUR RETURNS. So yes at the thime your happy cause you think ypur getting a nice return, but now were screwed, we live month to month also, where we gonna comeup with 5000. I watch the tv ads and I think to myself, this HRblok is desperate this is their last dying gasp to retain buisness, cause none of us are going there anymore as are none of you. Live and learn I guess. When I get my 11 returns done I,ll be sure to question whether its right and who might be liable if not,P.S these guys make a ponzi scheme look like mud puddle, imagine what they,ve stolen.......

I have been going to H&R block for years and they always done me good. However on Friday I got my taxes done and it cost me 505.25 to get my taxes done. Since I own a duplex I need to itemize. Last years taxes cost around 300.00. Being a return customer your would think they would treat me better than new customers. NOPE!!! Since I had to file a couple "extra" forms H&R block charged "fee" per form. I was pissed... I don't think it's fair to charge a fee by form filing. I don't understand how I can be charge 200.00 for TWO extra forms. I told him that I could have gone to a CPA for less money. I hope to get my return on a timely matter. I did set up an appointment for next year BUT I will not be going there again. They have lost my confidence and business with them. They are taking advantage of people and that I can not respect. Everytime I see and H&R block commerical I want to call BS and I just get pissed all over again. They screwed me and didn't even buy me dinner.

went to local office in ely last year to do an offer in compromise, paid $600.00. one year later nothing ever filed IRS added about $3,700.00 in penalties and interest. h&r office will not return my calls and kept my money. HELP!

I am writing this in regards of my sons taxes,I called and talked with Nancy at the H&R block here in Yucca Valley prior to haveing my son take his paper work there.I was told that it would be free sense it was an 1040EZ as I'm sure everyone has seen it on the TV commercial.After she had finished the paper work and started to send it to the tax board she looked at us so flabbergasted and said her boss messed with her computer and she has to charge my son $32.00,He was not givein the opption to have it automatically put into his account or have a paper check sent him, only put on the emerald card.To me this is what you call (BAIT AND SWITCH)Everyone needs to watch and beware.As to rate this H&R block I would not even give them a 1 star-- they rate a O.

This is the worst company I have every tried to use. I gave them my 2010 tax's and 7 months have passed and it is still not done. I have my 2011 tax's ready to file and will I give it to H & R Block. You bet I won't!!! I am a property owner and the lady at H & R Block told me mine was too much to do. I only have 11 duplex units. they don't seem to care or want the business & really don't care who they hire no doubt or these people that work there would not have a "don't care attitude."

I WENT IN TO THE LOCAL OFFICE AND FILED ELECTRONICALLY ON THE 6 IT WAS ACCEPTED ON THE 17, I WAS SUPPOSED TO GET MY TAX REFUND ON THE 25 AND NO I DID NOT GET ANYTHING NOW ITS FEBRUARY 5, 2012 AND I STILL HAVE RECIEVED MY TAX REFUND...

I will also never go the the H&R block that we have used over the years on 514 e front in tyler tx 75702 I got there the lady at the desk had me sign in at the other desk she forgot to get my sign in sheet I had to give it to her which that was at 4pm and it was 6:30 pm before I found out she never signed me in and finally at 7pm I saw someone which didnt know what he was doing what so ever he keep getting up going to the restroom and getting drinks then helping others and need needed help when I finally returned form helping this man he didnt know what he had done on my taxes and messed them up told me wrong info... and told me he want to hit me in my face and another lady which was working there got up told me I had been yelling since I got there which I was not and threw all my papers on the floor and told me to get out...then I was yelling and if you said I was yelling I sure did start at that time and I didnt get my taxes done

and to add the number at the top of the page does not work really h an r block you need to be shut down i will post to all my friends on fb to never use h an r block and i am going to the better bb....yours truly h an r block sucks
