I worked at a location for family dollar in houston,tx. I must say the whole time your there working- is a saftey hazard. Family Dollar Needs Security! As much money flows in and yes, business is blooming. Every where you look there's a Family Dollar. They pay you minium wage, weekly, but your lucky if you get 30 hours... No Employee discout and seems our voices are not being heard. I quit after leaving the store as i found it. Managment needs proper customer and sloving employees suggestions. Employees should be safe at work, and selling cigaretts now... I say Employees deserve a raise! To the ones who abuse hours and their postion needs to be fired. Im a witness to hundreds if customers leaving because if long lines and messy stores. Train. Train and watch closly, the assistant mngt. at my store stole thousands!

store #6762 in south saint Augustine Florida is so messed up they fired the managers that worked there and put in a man who has only been with the company for one month as a asst. manager he don't no how to run a register or run a store for that matter instead of promoting within there are employees there that have been there for over five years but refused to promote them the new so called manager is trying to push out the employees that are there by making them work six days a week so he can sit in the back and do nothing but collect a pay check the DM. Darlene was promoted from a store manager to a DM. and she just don't have a clue on how to run a company family dollar really needs to get a grip on life if they keep hiring idiots there store will go up in flamed

Don't go to the Family Dollar Store at 3615 E. Northern Parkway. The premises are so trashy. There is no one to pick up trash from the outside of the store and the container by the door is always filled. Where the trucks deliver merchandise, there are two undersized dumpsters that are completely filled, trash from the store is dumped here as well as illegal dumpers at this site. Rats were seen. This store needs a large dumpster that is fenced in so that outsiders can not get to it. Trash is blowing all over this busy street corner. The overgrown hedges help to collect litter. The store has some nice employees, but I have stopped shopping at this trashy place.

The family dollar store in osawatomie, Kansas needs manager that is actually there sometimes and actually cares about the store?

I visited a Family Dollar store a few minutes ago in Charlotte, NC located at 3400 Wilkinson Blvd. Store #00002 - My 7 year old was asking me to purchase him some batteries. I told him to put them back that I wasn't sure of the size he needed. So the cashier/Manager - he said he was a manager - named Christian said in a sarcastic, suspicious voice, what are you doing, talking to my son. My son brought the batteries to the counter as I was preparing to pay for my things. I told him again to put the batteries back until I can make sure of the size. He placed them in the candy bin right in front of the register where I checked out and as we were walking out of the store. Christian ran us down with his hand out saying give me the batteries. I spoke loudly saying he put the batteries back and Christian says, no he didn't. Of course at that point we were at a back and forth exchange inside the store with other customers. I walked back to the place where my son laid the batteries down and slammed them on the counter saying there they are. Christian says, I was wathcing him. I said he was watching too hard and watching the wrong one. At that point I was highly aggravated as he saw where I picked the batteries up from and he didn't even apologize. I went on to the car but was still really upset. I went back in the store, requested a refund on the items I purchased and told him that I will NEVER, EVER go back in Family Dollar again in this LIFE. He didn't even apologize to my child for accusing him of stealing. I am highly disappointed and a dissatisfied ex customer!

Family Dollar store in Kermit, Texas I don't even think is a year old yet.Its located on highway 302 and highway 18. Highway 18 leads 21 miles north to Jal, New Mexico where i live. When that store first opened up we was so happy to have another store to shop at besides the one in our town. Because i have found that different stores have different things not always the same merchandise.But the last few times we traveled to Kermit, Texas to go shopping at that store, we were very disappointed. The store needs to be completely wiped out of employees and get some new faces in there that are proud of being on a busy intersection, and in a Brand New Store, and are proud to have a job at Family Dollar, and are willing to work for there pay check, not just he handed a paycheck. 2 employees were standing around talking, boxes sitting all over the floors, couldnt hardly walk down an isle. The merchandise that was on the shelves, was disarrayed, out of place or empty. The store was very trashy looking, had no class at all. I alwayslove to go to Family Dollar stores but not this one. Sorry.please clean it up

My complaint is about the recently opened store in Wilmington, Ohio. The store is dirty and trashing. Looks like it has been open for years. I seriously think that upper management needs to get ahold of that stores manager and tell them to straighten it up and make sure that the shelves are stocked, especially the coolers. I also am shocked at some of the prices being charged for items. I could go just right up the street and get the product cheaper at Walmart. Just wanted to let you know.

The family dollar store in osawatomie,Kansas 66064, has the worst manager. She has a very shady past. She is known for being promiscuous with men and women. Osawatomie is a very small town of about 4000 people. She hires her employees so that she can call them in at a moments notice. She gives them very few hours for this precise reason. Then if one of her lover girls or boyfriends need a job she will take one of her employees off of the schedule with no explanation. Then just never gives them any reason. In a word they are simply "DISMISSED". She is very dishonest with the company. She claims to work 50 to 60 plus hours per week, but if truth be known she only gets in at the very most 20 to 30 hours per week. She has been known to call in one of her assistant managers to work for her because she is oh so "sick". When in fact she is calling them in so that she can go out partying or out to the local Drivein movie theatre. Where she is then spotted by someone that knows that she just called in their sister, daughter, friend, mother, or wife to work for her. Thus causing her assistants to take time away from their family or friends so that they can cover for her. Because it is most important for her to have the fun. She is also known to bad mouth her employees to other employees, openly during store hours in front of customers. It it usually the next employ on the chopping block, whom she has already decided to write off, after she has already hired someone else to take their place. Right before writing them completely off of the schedule. She is very unprofessional in her actions and in her appearance. She typically does not wear any kind of bra. That is I itself is not professional. How did this woman get a job such as this?

Hicksville Ohio Family Dollar manager just REFUSED to even let my 18 year old graduated HONOR student fill out an application because the manager said she won't hire anyone under 20 anymore since the last one stole from her. So much for EOE.

I went into the faminly dollar in Deming, N.M. Store#03035 811 S. Platinum Ave. 08-24-2012 at 18:59:47 I was shopping in the store and went down the isle where it looked as though it was all clearence items i found boxes of burgundy hair dye marked with the little family dollar lables a $1.00 i thought it was a great deal. When I check out i was checked out by the manager there and to my suprise the boxes rang up as $3.00 I told the lady it wa marked a dollar she then replied, "no it's not" very snooty "I replied "yes" she then pulled the boxes out of the bag and replied "oh they are that's not right tho they are not that price" the she yelled loudly to the whole store so all customers and employees could hear saying "who did this! This is not right!" the other employee explained it was her first day back from something so it couldn't have been her. Then the manager peeled the labels off and put them back into the bag I said "well I don't want them of that's not the cost" she said "well you can't get it for that price" then I said "ok never mind" she let out a big sigh like I was irritating her then pulled out her keys and did something on the register th take them off then continued to check me out for the rest of my items. Well from my experience I live just around the corner so I shop there very often and this was by far completely uncalled for I spend alot of money at this establishment and don't feel like I deserved to be treated this way. I have worked in management before and understand pricing issues but first of all it wasn't my fault the items were marked incorrect and secondly the attitude from a member of management is absolutely disrespectful and rude I believe no buisness should be run this way and hope that something gets done to resolve this. By NO means should a customer EVER get that sort of treatment while spending their money at any establishment.

The Family Dollar in Waldorf is terrible. The employeres there have no knowledge of what they have int here own store it take 4 people to get onthe phone and ask you the same question over and over to get no answer at all. I feel like they should at least no what they have in there store. All it takes is to walk around each day.

you know as i read these commets and being a SM for 30 days after training these people are right... all sm that i have talk to say the same things as well, but are to scared to say something this is the PHX.,area and glendale area as well.. you better start to care B/C you have some great people that are and you are going to lose them soon as soon as i find a new job I will be leaveing to.... its going to be your loss, B/C I CARE........... unknown

It's sad to say in this day and time, and job's hard to find that family dollar has such poor service. Almost everytime, and different location's i recieve the same poor service. The manager's behaviors are even more worse than the customer service team members. They have no respect for customer's or even care to tae care of a situation in the store. They enjoy telling you to call their cooporiate office, and that's becasue they are not being held accountable for their poor actions. I say to the share holders of Family Dollar, "please watch your stock's' they are gonna hit rock bottom when customer's start taking their money to some one whom appericate's our business

I live in a small town in La. The dollar store here in Diville La. has really gone down. It seems like the stock never makes it up, and then when you ask them to order something that they carry they tell you that they just get what is sent. They never know when they will get a certain product. I am talking about pet food. Something they carry year around. The thing is that when this brand comes in it selld within 2 days. When I complained they told me to get out and don't come back. the employee that I had asked about this last week wen tand told the Manager that I cussed her. I did not. He told me to leave and never come back. I used to spend up to $500.00 a month there, sometimes more. Don't like haveing to drive to town. guess I will now.I do plan to make community meeting to let others know about this store. Oh and can't get ahold of a corperate manager with this company.

I bought a Net10 phone at the Family Dollar store in Wells, Nevada. MY GOD it's been a nightmare for EIGHT MONTHS. I bought an LG900 phone because I wanted the video cam function. THREE MONTHS LATER - after numereous attempts to activate it and several calls to their toll free number - Net10 finally tells me, "Well, actually that particular model can't be used in your zipcode, 89835." "But we'll be happy to send you another phone that does." I get the replacement phone - stripped down model. Junk. Also, I've bought $60 worth of minutes I couldn't activate but Net10 wouldn't give me a refund for them either. I took Net10 (Tracfone) to the Better Business Bureau. They have done nothing but lie and try to make me - THE CUSTOMER - look like I had done something wrong. Read the complaint at http://www.docstoc.com/docs/126479605/NET10-NOT-WORTH-A-DAMN? Bottom line: Family Dollar has no business carrying models of cellphones that don't work in that area. How many people bought this phone only to go through what I did?

they stop selling the cheap money saving,no scam mio prepaid cards why so u can spend more an charge u for each transaction which is dum bring my mio prepaid card back these other cards charge 5 dollar for the card an a 5 dollar monthly fee plus to refill plus 2 dollars for a transaction with ur own money how dum is that ,when mio card only charge 3 dollars just to reload money on ur card no monthly fee free atm withdraw from they atm no transaction fee an no hiding charges an the most part about mio prepaid card is everyone accept the card i love mio card its even better then nthe bank cards an family dollar stop selling them they need to be slap they shouldnt even call this dollar nothing cause u cant find one thing for a dollar people go to dollar general they sell mio an they have things for a dollar family piss me off for not keep the things to help people pocket they to high an dont card bout u at all

You can complain all you want they don't care for their employees they make managers work long hours without time and a half, they expect you to have everything done while having to deal with customers, we unload the trucks by ourselves, the backroom is always in a mess, they make way too much money to care about the way they run things, they have paid judges to block cases, they acuse employees of stealing, hire people in coporate who have never worked in the store, they promote people who really don't need to be in there position, they all should be fired and have people from the store take the lead on things. If you do see this then I would let you contact me but I would rather see one of your stores fall then me keep living up to your guidlines and your threats to fire my manager which you made lose her mind.*location is a very good idea to set your standards by

the clerk has stole $50.00 off my woman today and her name is kim the family dollar store in clay county shopping center we went back in their ask the manger make it right with her he wouldn,t he said what on recipt was not right is that true or not the manger hold up for the clerk i think the clerk and manger needs fired my woman had spend $48.00 and she give the clerk $100.00 and the clerk give $12.00 back out of $100.00 the clerk she owes $52.00 back to my woman that make it right with my woman you need come to the family dollar store in clay count shopping center and check them out could you replace the $52.00 or make the manger pay it back to my woman ok p.s contact me at this phone number 1-606-596-0932 thank you

To be honest with you one star is way over-rated, Here is my thing. I live in Breckenridge Texas, and our family dollar store here is really a bad excuse for a retailer. They are very rude and ill manored, The store manager had rather talk on her cell phone all day than to help employee's or more importantly the customer. She has refused service to me and my family because my Fiance is a former employee whom the manager didn't like. She has refused to sign a paperfor us that has cost me over 600 dollars this month, I do not appreciate the way you are training your employee's to be that way. I myself work for one of the very largest retail companies in the world and I know how to treat my customers and whats sad about that is this manager has been working for your company way longer than I have mine. I really hope you people at home office read this message because I really think ya'll should do something about it. It's really kinda sad and extremely bad for business. I will never shop there again.
