I agree with all the bad crap about dollar tree. I've been there a long time and have been left out to pasture to either work with the crap or quit. Money, money, money, money. And who the hell asks customers to buy something to give to the needy all to make the EXTRA dollar and you're written up if you don't ask every customer, let alone mention the survey. You spend so much time talking crap to the customer you loose out on "HOW ARE YOU?". "Did you find everything you needed today?". Oh yeah and don't forget to push "Dollar Tree Direct". "G.E.T" Great the customer, Exceed their expectations, and Thank them for shopping with us. BITE ME!

We just received a "manager trainee" who still needs training. Since her arrival, she has managed to totally mess up everything in our store. Granted, we are all minimum wage employees but that doesn't mean we can't be proud of our store. She pulled all the product off one wall to do her end cap but failed to replenish the big white empty space then had the nerve to blame others for not fixing it. We have lost 3 or 4 good employees since her arrival. She took 3 people off freight crew and put them on as cashiers. Now we don't have enough freight crew to get the truck done. Last week she cut hours for freight then wondered why we couldn't fit the new truck in the stock room. She "staged" the truck on the sales floor and it has bewen there for 2 days already. It is on both sides of the aisles. She reset the seasonal wall, or rather I should say, she has been trying to reset the seasonal wall with school supplies for 3 or 4 days. Meanwhile, she has left a shopping cart full of empty cardboard right there in the aisle. Apparently she thinks someone else will throw it out for her. She also put a cart filled with cardboard in the back room blocking the fire exit. That one I emptied and cleared the door way for fire safety. We are looking for a part time assistant manager and rather than hire a woman who has been an excellent employee (hire from within) she is interviewing others for this position. Since she arrived, the morale of the store went into the "crapper". She told one employee that she couldn't have her beverage under the counter. The woman had to leave work early and go to the hospital for dehydration and now she is afraid to come back to work with our manager trainee. We need this manager trainee to go "cut her teeth" in another store so we can put our store back to the way it was.....happy, organized, and a nice place to work and shop.

After reading all of your complaints, i must say...what the hell do you expect from the DOLLAR STORE??? All I can say after being an employee for 10 months there is WHY THE FUCK DO YOU CUSTOMERS HAVE TO WIPE YOUR ASS AND THROW IT IN THE GARBAGE CAN???

I recently was terminated from Dollar Tree in Mason City Ia and as an assistant manager, I have to say this company does not have their stuff together. It is poorly run, unorganized, and as a whole do not care one bit about their employees. From what I read of the other reviews, its obvious that they have poor employee screening. At the store I worked for, there was a manager and 3 assistant managers including myself. Out of all of them, there was only 1 who i thought was good at her job and respected everyone. the manager showed favoritism and had no managerial skills what so ever. She loved to pass the buck. And 1 of the assistant managers was very quick to talk about everyones business to people that just shouldnt be told. if one of us had a personal issue, before ya knew it, EVERYONE knew about it. On top of how employees were treated, they were also rude to customers and lazy with the customer service. Dollar Tree Inc needs to clean house now or their business will start seeing the consequences.

I went and fillex out an app. And then i went in to check on my app. And my husband filled out an app. As well but wen i went in to check on my app. David one of the managers there told me right to my face and i have my husband as my witness david told me " I would rather have kyle insted of you" and i found that to be very sexest against me and i would like something done about it. This happened at the dollar tree in oak ridge,tn 37830 and it is located in between the rush fitness center and booksamillon.

we would like a dollar tree close to us we live in smithville arkansas and love the dollar tree stores but we have to drive so far to get to one. we would greatly appreciate it a lot and think you so much. the two closest towns to us is walnut ridge arkansas or black rock arkansas.

I worked for the dollartree in the past year or so, in the supervisor are very dis-respectul to their cashiers, its been a time when a customer called me names over not giving her a bag for one small item (portable lotion) that purse size. In I told the customer "Ma, I thought u could put it in ur purse, thinking that what anyone esle normal would do. So the assistant manager was like i need to talk to you. Im like ok, he was like i heard a customer complained and i was like can i tell u why in he was like no, i heard everyting. he was like maybe next time u should give them what they want a bag and i told him i did, then he threatned to right me up. I was never distreated in my life over a bag. not only at the time i was getting paid minium wage but get 1 day a week dosent make much on my pay check, good thing im in college in have a great job working for walmart. I adviced if your looking to work at THE DOLLAR TREE- Dollartree means RUDE RUDE RUDE, AND DONT PAY WELL. SAVE UR TIME WORK FOR A COMPANY WITH MORE RESPECT FOR THEIR WORKERS.

I have not worked at the dollar tree but going into the store that is in Louisville Kentucky was ridiculous. Never would I imagine screaming for an employer to come to the front of the store cursing, especially when there are customers in the store.I don't think I will ever shop there again at least not the one on Preston hwy.

Well I do not know about everyone else but I have not worked at Dollar Tree for years & I left to finish my degree! I worked as an assistant manager in Madison County Al. & a store manager in Athens Al. Both jobs I was treated very good! As an asst. manager the store manager bent over backwards to help me achieve everything I could. Then only 4 months later I received my own store & at that store we worked very hard (at the other store we did also) but no matter what the open door procedure was always away to make sure everyone was treated fairly. My district manager did everything she could to teach me Dollar Tree procedures. Let me share 1 other short story. My brother lost his 1st baby while I was at this store & the min I called my district manager & told her the situation she gave me more time off than should have been given (I never left the hospital story 3 day & then the funeral for 3 more days & then 2 days to help my brother in anyway I felt they needed it). 8 days with pay & for this I will br forever indebted to her (district manager) and Dollar Tree. Now is Dollar Tree the best place for everyone to work? NO! Dollar Tree is only for people that can stock & stock fast. The only problem I ever had is when I was store manager & the home office tired to tell me who should be my cashier at a given time. They were micro managing & they can't tell if an aesthetic. manager is better than a part time employee. Thanks Dollar Tree & my employees & bosses!

Who actually purchases in Dollar Tree Stores, Dollar Tree or Greenbrier? Anyone have an email address for Greenbrier Headquarters?

Store or shift manager ain't hear to open the store it's 4am

I was more than appalled at the behavior of an employee at your Detroit Lakes, MN store yesterday, June 3rd. I have several children, who were all paying for their own items. The cashier, named Lisa, complained loudly "their mom is making them buy their own things seperately" and proceeded to tell my little girl to "just get on with it" impatiently with her money. Then she did not give her change. She so rude to my husband he just put the items he was going to buy down and left. Once my kids were gone, I told her she should be more respectful, that my kids were PAYING customers today and in the future. She just said, "I don't need anymore lectures". Apparently another customer had reprimanded her for being so rude to our family. I told her I did not know she had already been "lectured" and I was just asking for respect. She actually told me "GET OUT!" (and I was not being harsh at all!) Amazingly, she was waiting on another customer at the time who also told her she should not be working customer service if she acted like this. She actually proceeded to tell them "you don't know how hard this job is. I only get minimum wage" and on and on! She NEVER apologized-only justified her horrible actions by saying it wasn't her fault she had such a horrible job. I hope you let her go...she should NOT be working in your store or any other place that requires her to deal with people! UNBELIEVABLE!

I have been reading all of everyones post on these subjects. I am a Freight Manager for a local Dollar Tree. I began there almost one year ago. Here it is 9 months later and the SM has still not to this day allowed me to do the job that I was hired for. As he states on a daily bases that he has not trained me for this position and has not approved me to do even the most simple parts of my job like place truck orders or anything. The DM told him in a managers meeting we had 2 months ago to allow me to do me job and he told me and the other AM's that this is his store and she does not called the shots here he does. Recently I was injured on the job and now am looking at possible knee surgery, because he refuses to allow me to schedule anyone to assist in unloading and working out the frozen food truck. I am expected to do it by myself. Well, the very week after I was injured at work he scheduled me again to unload and freight work the frozen food truck by myself with no help. Even though the Dr.'s have me on very strict limitations, as to no lifting or climbing or even being on my feet for more than 2 hours per day! Then when I returned to work after a Dr's visit I was handed a Final Warning write-up. Well, my laywer told me to hope that they do fire me do to never being written up ever before. Simplely because it will really help out my pocket book in the future. I only hope to keep my job as I do like working for Dollar Tree Corp. But they really do need to be more involed with store level situations. This would be a positive for all employee's if they would just open their eyes and see that we are the reason they make their money as we are the ones selling their products, stocking their shelves, and keeping customers coming back because it sure as hell is not the SM's or DM's. It is everyone below them.

All you people need to take Dollar Tree to court and sue for misrepetation. This place is a slave camp and needs to brought to everyone's attention. If all the customers knew what these stores were like it would effect their bottom line and that is all they care about. You the people have rights find out what they are and use them to bring the attention to the people. If you just write these comments nothing will change. People make changed so get up and make the changes

I WORK AT A DOLLAR TREE IN ILLINOIS. MY ANNIVERSARY DATE WAS BACK IN JANUARY, LOOKED AT MY FIRST PAY STUB AFTER THAT AND EVERY ONE SINCE THEN NO RAISE I HAVE ASKED THE MANAGER EVERY TIME WHAT HAPPENED SHE TELLS ME I DON'T KNOW. ALL I WANT IS AN ANSWER NOT I DON'T KNOW.

I visited the dollar tree near where I work in gloucester Va and when I went to get in line there were two customers in front of me as I was waiting my turn two customers came up in line behind me. I had been waiting about five minutes. As they came over another cashier came up and took the last person in line and checked them out at another register. What she should have done was walked up to the lady in front of me and said I can help you at register 2. She should have taken the next person in line not the one that just walked up. You would think that your cashiers would treat customers the same way that they would like to be treated.

I have worked for DT 18 months and have recieved the max raise for stocker. Up to 7.47 now! Whoopie! I expressed an interest in assistant management from the begining. I have continually been asked if I was interested in management even though I have a Poss of Marijuana misdemeanor written clearly on my application. My yearly assessment states keep working towards becoming an assistant manager. A non performing assistant manager who admitted they were addicted to presciption drugs and is openly suicidal was promoted to Store manager elsewhere. And I was called into the office and asked if I would like to take the assistant position. When asked what is your background like I stated that I had a poss. of marijuana conviction like it says on my application and was told that I could never become a manager of any type and also told that if they did promote me the company would terminate me immediately when they found out becuase of it. Yet the regional manager is the one who hired me knowing of the conviction because he was the store manager at the time. I also reminded him once when he asked if I was interested in management and he said don't worry about that it'll have no effect on it. Clearly this shows a huge problem. I still work there. And I probably will for a while longer. This is a store where the other assistant manager smokes crack through her cigs on break (yah I know about you) but they don't care. And talks a lot on the phone, can't complete her work etc. you know the story. She doesn't recover the store can't even make a plan, don't bother asking what the plan is I have to make my own. Only stocks a small amount and has no comprehensive management skill at all. I remember her managing a gas station she couldn't even tell me if there was bottled water in the back because there was none in the front for me to buy as a customer at the time I thought to my
