I am appauld at the way Dollar General Sore Managers speak to their customers at store #10399 in Columbus, Georgia. Tonight (12-2-10), I wanted to purchuse 2 refill cans of airwick air freshner(vanilla snow scent). The sale price (ad is good thru 12/4/10) was $4.50 a can and they rang up $5.00 a can. I questioned the cashier, and she called the manager. The manager took about ten minutes beore coming to see what the cashier wanted. In the meantime, I walked back to the air freshners and got the orange sale tag. I told the cashier and manager that the vanilla snow scent was a holiday scent and it was not on sale. I then informed the manager, the orange sale sticker did not show a specific scent as being on sale. I told the manager, she could remove the two transactions of my bill. She then took the two charges off and just stood their watching my items being rang up. I then mentioned to the manager again, that the ad didn't indicate which scents were on sale, and told her the regular price for all scents of airwick and glade air freshners was $4.99 each. She still wouldn't sale the air freshners at the sale price. I told the manager, she wasn't "NO MANAGER", because the customer is always suppose to be right. I promise you this, I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN ANOTHER DOLLAR GENERAL STORE FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My sister in law wanted to purchase 2 cartons of eggnog for the sale price of $2.25 each. Again, the manager was called to the front by the cashier. My sister in law then told the manager, the the eggnog was on sale for $2.25 and they rang up for $2.85 each. The manager took the two cartons of eggnog back to the refrigerated cooler and just put them back. She didn't come back and tell the cashiers the price off the eggnog nor did she bring the two cartons back up front with her. I looked at my sister in law, " I Guess the Manager doesn't want you to have any eggnog". My sister in law also tried to buy two bottles of hair conditioner that was marked down. One was Dove $3.75 and clearange price was $1.00; and the other was Aussie price $3.00 and clearance price $1.00. The manager, wouldn't sale the two hair conditioners for the prices they were marked. My sister in law told the manager, to take the two charges (total was $6.75) from my purchase. I have never felt such an inconvenience for managers to help their customers when the dollar general employees are the ones who are mis-priceing items in their stores!!!!!!!!!

My wife went into the store at 6185 Highway 278 NW, Covington Ga on 11/30/10 at 5:30pm. There was water standing inside the doorway with no mat down or sign. She didn't notice the water and slipped and fell. The Cashier seen her fall and asked if she was ok. My wife told her no she wanted to see the manager for a report. The Cashier yelled across the store and told the manager she needed to come mop up the water. The manager came out and proceeded to yell at my wife. And said that she couldn't help that there was water in the floor. And she didn't have time to be mopping up water. And no you can't make a report I don't do that and I'm busy you will have to come back tomorrow. My wife proceeded to ask 2 more time for the report. And still she refused. My wife then called me and I called the police to meet me at the store. The police had to tell the manager a couple of more times to write the report. She finally produced the paper work and started to prepare the papers. Told the Officer she would give me a copy of the report. The officer left and the story changed again. Now I can't have a copy. This is no way to treat anyone that has just fallen in your store. Especially since it is on tape. They have already admitted about haveing it on tape. Common sence would tell anybody not to do this. So, I am now working on putting adds in our local papers about it. And have contacted a lawyer. I am going to find every site on the internet to post about this. And will continue with posting adds in the paper and online till someone from corporate does something about their rude manager. I have posted the date and time of the accident for a reason. There is no way somebody in the corprates office can't contacts me from that. Dollar General has no business teating People like they do and they will never get another dime of my money or anybody elses that I talk too. People you are not safe shopping in Dollar General! If you get injured you on your own! They do not care about your safety or anybody elses!

I went to Dollar General in my neighborhood, on Nov 20,2010, I purchased $40.00 had a $1.00 coupon. Paid for my items and I happen to remember I had a Dollar General $5.00 discount coupon for Nov 20, 2010 to use with $25.00 or more purchase. I asked the cashier and the Manager could I use this or get my $5.oo discount. They both said, NO! They said that since I had paid for my purchases I couldn't redeem it. So, I walked out of the store stood for minute outside went back inside and return the entire purchase. After, I was refunded my money, I asked the cashier to re-ring my purchases so I could use my coupon. She and the manger both said they couldn't do it. I said "WHAT" I am in here every week, I have bought many $1000.00's of puchases over the last 30 plus yrs and I even had worked pt for DG in another state and you are telling me you are refusing to re-ring my items. They said "yes"! I gave them a pleasant ear full and I will never shop in there again or with any other DG. I took my business somewhere else and saved $10.00 w/o a coupon. Very Poor Customer Service!!! With todays economy you would think they would have bent over backswards to serve the customer.

well i do work at the dg and so far the work is great. but as to apllying on to the job is to .. let me say confusing i did the work on express hiring and was waiting to activate my card do i could get payed and it still does not work i when to work the next day and my manager told me to go back and fill the stuff on express hiring AGAIN after i had already done it once well i couldnt log in in i have been trying every day since i started and well two weeks went by and well its payday and still no money in the same position i starteed in!

i wrote you before, have not heard, i said i exchanged 6 cans of your brand of cat food for 4 cans of friskies, i was charged 17 cents tax again, i am not happy, i will from now on go to family dollar stores, you can't train your employees and they are rude and not helpful in the least

My son and I arrived at this particular location (3009 S Church St Ext, Spartanburg, SC 2930)this evening (11/24/10), which is usually my favorite store, due to the easy access from our home. However, upon entering the door at 8:30, the two cashiers did not greet us, they rudly said "Uh, we close at nine", and turned their backs to us and murmured under their breath! After, apologizing and informing them that we would rush with the few select items we needed, they were of no assistance when I asked for some help on finding a certain Christmas item. The younger african female, rolled her eyes and said, " I don't know, somewhere in the store, look for it". With that being said I went ahead and paid for the 4 things I had! She never told me the total of the purchase, I had to ask because the machine didn't show it, and when she handed me my change, she pretty much dropped into my hands with not even counting it back to me or telling me the amount of my change! She then proceeded to ask to search my purse, because she suspected that I had an item in my hand earlier and wanted to know where I had it or put it back at. Baffled, I asked her what particular item she was referring to and she could not answer me, and then pursued to tell me I need to find it or I was not to leave the store! After refusing to find the mystery item, she told the other african lady to go search the cameras, and told me listen white girl if ya dont let her check my purse, and if there was anything on the cameras she would call the police. Livid at the rudeness and disrespect and racist treatment, I simply walked out of the store. She then followed me to take down my tag number! I have never been treated so horiible, and as a criminal as I did at this store! I would like to know why I deserved such a trivial treatment especially with my six yr old son with me! Not only will I report the messiness of the store, racism, the unattractiveness of the employees and their untidyness, as well as their treatment, I will publicly take this to the news, as well as the BBB, if no actions are taking, and made aware of to me!

Store number #08515 in Terra Alta, WV has the rudest store manager. On Thanksgiving morning, the ad states "Hurry, Doors Open at 7 am". I arrive at the store at 6:45 am and there were customers along with DG employees already in the store shopping and checking out. I followed a lady in and asked where the Polaroid Touch Screen Music Players were located. The rude store manager said "someone already took them!" The lady that I followed in said "I thought the store didn't open until 7 am" to which the manager barked back "Our registers kicked on at quarter till". She said they only had a few of the players (I think 3)...WHY does DG run an ad and only send 3 items for the "special, 1 day, Thanksgiving sale"?? DG is nothing but a joke...read the complaints all over the internet; not many good things being said.

Hello, Wanted to say that I always enjoy going to your store, here in Terre Haute, on Laffayette Street, But my son, has been having a tough time, with a employee by the name of Garry Reed. It seems when my son goes into the place, that this Garry Reed gives him a hard time, and acts very hateful. My son spends a great deal of money in the store, but hates going in because of this guy. Would you please see if there is something you can do. Thanks

I always in joy in the the dollar stores they have been a great blessing to our family. The only thing i have a problem with is that someone i know collect toys for tots for their ministry and the dollar general turns them down and collects for a organization that doesn't even help in our county or even the county close to us. I don't understand why they want to help those that are not even in our community. I think stuff that is donated in the county should be distributed in the county. Well hope you have a bless day.

my name is tina I was at your store november 19,2010 at between 6:30 and 7:00 the cashier name is shawn store location is at 3502 east hillsborough avenue, tampa florida 33610. the customers asked could another register be open. It was about 12 people in line, the cashier shawn said your lucky this one is open, thats rude thats unprofessional in any business. several time i visit this store and he is rude , very nasty, is this what you allow in your stores. home depot would really deal with it, pulic grocery store would deal with it, amscot would deal with it walmart would really deal with it, you dont keep or hire people that make your business look bad, no matter what the job is. hire quality, hire professionism, hire a people person. you dont keep igorance, illiterate people in your business. I read all the othe complaint, and its far to many for any business.

So my husband has worked for DG for about 3 years now and we recently moved and the new DG he works for is awful! He works way harder than the other key holder or manager and he is always pushed around by them. Mistreatment of employees seems to be common in the DG world apparently. I'm sitting here reading all of these comments and wondering why on earth nothing is done about the way they are treated and it seems really hard to find out who to contact about this subject. I know Doller General Corporate Headquarters doesn't see this forum but I searched for a while on who to contact over the past few months and I'm just so annoyed that I need to say something somewhere...so this seemed like a good place to start. Oh and new managers should have double checks over their records because the manager my husband works for lied about being manager at her last job, yet they kept her and she's been in trouble A Lot in the past 6 months and the district managers just tell her, "you get one more shot". Obviously the number one to them means like twenty. So Annoying!

Purchased a few items at Dollar General in Genoa Ohio. In the back of the store there is a clearance isle. Picked up several items from the shelves there. The only sign back there is one that say's 90% off. Selected a T-Shirt that was originally $6.00. Handkerchiefs that were originally $1.00. Before checking out I asked the clerk (I believe she might even be the manager) someone called her Kim, if all of the items were 90% off. She didn't answer me. I thought the bill was kind of high for what I purchased so I went out to my car and checked the items. Sure enough there was an overcharge. Went back in and waited in line, AGAIN. When I reached the register I told her what I wanted and she rudely told me the items were 50% off not 90%. She then rolled her eyes as if I had NO right to ask for my money back. She then asked for my ID. Gave it to her she then proceeded to finish the refund. She did not say sorry, kiss my butt, thank you. She said NOTHING. By this time the line was very long and I was getting not so happy looks from customers. There was another cashier there stocking. Why did she not call this cashier up to open up and get the line down. This lady was rude, rude, rude. I just started shopping at this store again after six months because of the same lady. She was extremely rude because I was using a debit card and the machine said to show the card to the cashier. When I did she yelled at me. Usually she is standing outside the store smoking. Maybe I interupted her non stop smoke break. This time I will just stop shopping there altogether. DOLLAR TREE here I come. EVERYTHING is $1.00. And the girls are always FRIENDLY!

immmm very upset...i went into store #6519...and seen one of workers selling drugs right out of the store. i will never shop there again!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would not even give 1 star, the dollar general in kinston nc off of hwy 11, is the sorriest place, I have ever seen. The people are rude, all they want to do is go outside and smoke, and I smoke but come on not every two min while on the job. These people look like they have not taken a bath in a month. They are always either outside smoking or in the back, never at the register. Someone from corp needs to come down here and check things out, they were about five of us waiting in line, and it took twenty min to be checked out and I was the second person in line due to the lady not being able to stop talking long enough. It's crazy, do you job.

My family and myself have shopped at the Dollar General Store for years. I myself have always purchased nearly all house hold items there. I have rarely had a problem with anything related to the products until now. I purchased a pay as you go phone card. When I attempted to use the card. It had already been used. The gentleman at ATT advised to take the card back and have it exchanged. There shouldn't be a problem with that. I returned the card explained the problem to the manager who was not surprised about the card. The fact that these cards are activated by the store at the time of purchase was of no consequence to her Interesting to know that this woman don't care that someone within the store had activated the card used it and replaced it on the shelf. This leads one to speculate that theft goes higher up with in this store than shoplifting. In the mean time I am out 25.00 plus tax. ATT is also out money based on fraud. Nice going DG what a community example this sets for all to see. I don't intend my complaints to end here. I shall be posting on as many sites as possible to let others know the lack of respect DG has towards its customers.

You need to check on the lady named Katie that works at the Dollar General store in Bethune S.C. She is racist.She has accused several white people of steeling.Today she accursed my Granddaughter,she and some friends went in and come back out and did not find what they wonted.The lady named Katie was out side when she accursed them,she was talking to some man.She upset my Granddaughter a lot.So she went home and told her mother who tried to called her and talk about it but the woman told her she did not have to deal whith this stuff and got a attuited.She did tell my daughter that she did look at the type and that they did not steel anything but she would not appolige for anything,She said she did not have to .She was the boss.I have a very big family and we all shop there but we wont now.She needs a score of 0.

Wish to make a comment about the store in Reidsville, NC on way street. I visit all the stores in this town because they are all within a few miles of where I live. However, I was in the way st. one and I heard alot of I guess hollering best describes it, when I got to the register I asked the cashier what that was all about and she said It's the DM, Glenna, she does it all the time. I asked where the manager who used to be there was and she said she left a few months back. Which is a shame since the store used to be organized and clean and friendly. I can only guess it is because of the dm that this store has gone down hill. There seems to be a turn around of employees as well, and I noticed the store is not the same anymore, I will try the other stores in Reidsville, since I don't know if they have the same dm I sure hope not since the next dg is in another town alot further out. If so they opened a new Family Dollar on Freeway Dr. and I am sure there prices are about the same, which will be ok as long as I don't have to hear workers being degraded in front of customers.

I work at the Dollar General Store in Lake Worth TX. The mgr Janice Wicker is a very miserable human being. Anyone who causes extreme discomfort or unhappiness in a working atmosphere and with surrounding influence of hostility? Should consult with their doctors'. To find out why? They are miserable humans being???? She has no tolerate. And to endure any of her actions has a very serious side effects of discomfort as she exhibit physiological issues. No one should have this kind of behavior regardless of the position they uphold. If you want good productivity you must start with managers and above these idiots who are worstless to the company. She mention to me that she did not appreciate me leaving work as I did. And she will not work with anyone like this. She also told me she will call the DOM to have locks change. I am not sure what she meant about this. but for me to think. She has make me think I will come rob the store or she must be getting ready to fired me. My shift ended at 2:00 and I did not punch out until 2:09. 1st of all she came in at 2:09 (as she is always running late). I will attribute it to the fast food bags she has in her hand everytime she walks in the door with fast food in her hands (all the time she is late). If I get fired on Wednesday 11/11/10 at the end of my shift (as I will not hesitate to give her the keys to the store). You are right an attorney is in order.
