It seems that your district manager over the south eastern ms district has a very big problem with not having relations with his employees...this is something that you need to get a handle on very very soon. before you are looking into a very large lawsuit....He seems to be bribing them with store manager jobs to get them to see him.

I shop at your Lancaster Oh store on E.Main St. You have no management at all at that store. I've asked to speak to a manager at least 6x this week. I'm always told that they are not in or will be in tomorrow. The same goes for your District manager a guy called Rodney.I'm tired of being treated rudely, and over half the the time there isn't even someone at the register to ring up your patrons. I live in near by apts, but will drive the extra 3 miles for my shopping needs. I needed to talk to a manager only to help them with there flooding problems that we all experience in the area.

i got hired at a dollar general in warren ohio. i was trained with 2 girls and everything was fine. a few days later i came in for my first actual day with a woman named teresa. she was extremely rude. yelled at me in front of customers. and advised me to leave the register unattended to unpack boxes, say that if customers are made to wait they are more likely to impulse by. i dont agree with that i think customers that are made to wait are more likely to get upset and just leave. also, i was there for 5 hrs with no break, not even to use the restroom. she came in after me and took her lunch break before me. i ended up walking out. but that isnt the worst 2 weeks later and i still have not been paid for the time i worked. i know its not much but its enough to put diapers on my little girl. i worked on the clock and i believe its illegal for them not to pay me for time i worked. all in all i dont think i'll ever be a dollar general customer again.

I applied for a job with the DG store in ALbany GA on philema Rd on a Friday. Someone else was taking the assessment o i opted to come back another day. I did go back on yesterday Wednesday 8/17/2011 when i was told they could not find the application and needed to fill out another one. So i did. The original Manager Teresa was there on Friday but when i returned on Wed. Lynn the Asst. Mgr was in. So anyway i took the assessment then came home. About 5 hrs later someone called my home phone claiming that i left off my SS # and DOB on the application and they needed to get it and they would call me in 2 weeks. Well i am not that dumb. So i told the girl i could not do that and i would come back to the store. She acted really funny and when i asked for her name again she sort of sturdered Teresa. Fist off the Teresa i spoke with was white and did not talk in Ebonix so i knew that was not her. The phone number on my caller id was not DG number, it was a personal cell number. I called the DG store and spoke with a Myeshia she told me Teresa the mgr i spoke with on Friday was no longer there. I porceeded to tell her what happened she was not concerned. I am very concerned that someone in DG stores has my personal information regardless of SS or not. I feel like my rights have been violated. I will be consulting an attorney today.

As a daily customer at our local DG store you have a wonderful employee by the name of Cynthia Draper, She is very kind works very hard and is very helpful. She is just an hourly employee. She worked all the hours nobody wanted, she was called in at the last minute numerous times and never complained. I learned today when I asked a manager why she did not get more hours they jumped on her and said I should not ask that because it looks bad on Cindy. She has worked with no breaks, bad managers attitudes. So now they have cut her hours drasticley. I told her go to the DLLR and fie a formal complaint with that office that is what she is planning to do. I think your manager at the Snow Hill Dollar Store suck and I plan to tell everyone in the area. You should take care of your good employees and get rid of the asses you have working for you, Barbara

I am really into the coupon thing going on now. So I use copuons everywhere. This morning went into the local store here in Eutaw, Al with all of my coupons out and ready to go. I had several coupons that were over the amount($2.50 off any Lays Potato chip--the bag was only $.85) of that the item cost. The cashier had to get the manager to help her out(she was confused :p)The manager told me that they could not take a coupon for more than the value of the item. I asked why not, she said it was just company policy. I pulled out the coupon policy and showed her where it stated that cash would not be given back if the coupon value exceeded the price of the item(I'm right shes wrong) She then said she would only take them if they scanned. I said great, I already knew the policy on that and was fine with it. Guess what they scanned. She still refused to take them and said she wouldnt take any of them. She said she watches Extreme Couponing and had never seen a coupon like mine. Um hellooo? ever heard of coupon.com? Very upset, not going back

I shopped at the Doolar General Store in Bossier City, La on Stockwell Rd. The manager there was very unprofessional and has very bad customer service. She was upset because of a sale sign they had placed in the wrong place. When she rung me up I told her that tehy had a sign under the Glad trash bags that said $5, she got the sign and said it was for Helfty bags. She snatched away and walked back there and got the sign. This is why she's unprofessional, and claims to be the manager of the store. Her name is Delsheree. She didn't speak before ringing me up, nor did she say thank you after taking my money. This is very bad customer service! Ans especially for a manager!!! How did she become a manager with the bad attitude she has???

I shopped at the D.G. on Main St. in Lancaster Oh. I like the location because it is easy access for myself and family. At least on 4 trips there I waited in line for over 20 minutes. It seems to me that they are always understaffed, and I can never get help most the time No one is at the register and if so they only have one open with a very long line. I feel sorry for there workers Jodie and Amy I deal with are very nice though but they are always stocking. My nephew did some work for them and only charged them about half of what it should cost, but after many attempts to get paid they stiffed him and refused to pay him constantly passes the the buck, later I find out the people who take care of there floors got stiffed as well. If a corparation that brags they did 13.8 billion in sales treats there employees and vendors this I will no longer shop at any of there stores.

Im writing in regards to store # 7698 located at 363 FOXHALL AVE KINGSTON, NY 12401. With the area of Kingston having many issues of high theft, robbery, and so on. I was surprised that Anthony Diblanca an employee who is employed with this store and on probation. Well he found it to be ok to sit on a porch with several people intoxicated and show them his store keys upon being promoted to evening supervisor. He showed a key that he said to a group of individuals "This is a my goodbye key" he elaborated that it went to the safe which is under the managers desk and no one is supposed to know people have the safe keys. He continued to breached the security of the store by saying theirs 6 cameras in the store and telling everyone where they are, also how much money is supposed to be in the register at any given time which he said was $1,000, but he keeps much more, because "he can". He amongst other concerning statements also stated that his manager knows that when he is off probation he plans to smoke marijuana again, and that if he loses his job, that is why the safe key will then be his "goodbye key, because he will take what is owed to him and party big". I usually mind my business, however in the last 2 years that particular store has improved greatly, and with people like this jeopardizing it, something needs to be done! I hope this isn't ignored as I dont want to see the prices rise for interior loses. Thank you, Jerome Sanders.

I was a employee at dollar gemeral and I was treat so wrong I was harassment by Jeff Zantjierthe store security guard, Mel Turkeret about a nightdeposit bag that didn't have in money in it was dropoff to the bank on this date 9/6/04. I was false accused about the night deposit bag. I was arrest and handcuff. The person that really did the crime was not arrest at all and she was a white girl who did it. she went free. I am a black woman a i want throught all of this harassment. I was discrimation and my job went with it too. I in up in the hospital for a few days. I think I need to suit them for discrimation, pain and suffering, and loss wages. They want even give me my unemployment at all. I am not going to let them get away from these at all. so if you don't want to go to court. You better settle it right now. So think of the person that our did so bad and then you will have the right person ok.

I work in an office beside the Dollar General Store on Bryan Station Rd in Lexington, Ky at the High Acres shopping center. I am in there daily, sometimes more than once. There are many times when you walk into the store and there is no employees in sight. You stand at the check out and yell "hello" to get someone to finally come to check you out, or they will reply, "just a minute" and will continue to stock or whatever until they come to check you out. Many times there will be 5 - 8 people in line and only one person working the check out. Why not have another employee come and help check out? There is one woman, Donna, that acts like you are disturbing her to come and check you out...she is very rude! I asked her last week why she was always so rude to me and she replied that I was the rude one because I always had something to say about the service.....she said "but we just have to ignore you because you ARE the customer". One man that works there goes to the grassy area beside our office and takes off his shirt and lays in the sun on his lunch break, then goes back to work. Since its been in the 90's here lately you can imagine how he smells when he returns to work! I believe if you are going to work with the public you should at least be able to smile and make your customers feel welcome. That does not happen at this store so I will take my business elsewhere!

Management at my local store is absolutely negative and non-customer oriented. Bad attitudes permeate the store and customer service is not the top priority.

Reading the reviews it made me wonder if anyone tries to correct the complaints that are going on with your company. I live in Coffeyville Kansas and I have tried to shop in your store but find that ever time I Go to check out there is a line and there is only one person checking. when there are 10 or so people in front of me I just go put my purchase back and walk out.IT Looks like you have the business but what is your problem. Why don't you check out your stores instead of sitting in your offices.

I work at Dollar General in Ohio. It is my first job and I've been there for about a year. Our store got a different manager about a month after I started. Things have gone downhill ever since. I was given a part time sales associate position. Over the past few weeks, I've been receiving 4 or so hours a week. Therefore, when I get paid, I get a few bucks short of $30. I am VERY unsatisfied about this. How is one supposed to live off of that? 2 people have been fired recently, and new people keep getting hired all the time. I've had the least amount of hours on the schedule for a while now, and I know it's because the manager is trying to get me to quit. They have no valid reason to fire me. I've been told that the home office makes the schedule for our store, and that the store's manager gets the schedule, and changes the hours. If that is the truth, that is very ridiculous, and action should be taken. I feel that none of the employees get the respect they deserve. I feel like we are all looked down upon by our management team. I personally feel that because of my age (20) I've been picked on and excluded from the rest of my coworkers. I think I've done a great job at what I do. I do what I'm told, I am nice and patient with even the most difficult of customers, and I've shown nothing but respect for the people I work with, no matter how I truly feel about them. I honestly think a lot of foul play is going on behind the scenes. I know of quite a few people who've stopped shopping there after they've found out the way me and other employees get treated. To clarify, Dollar General is, in my mind, a friendly neighborhood store, where regular people shop. Yet management is running it like it's a branch of the freakin' army.

Aside from the fact that I love and adore Claire, a cashier there, The Clementon NJ store has a manager from hell, who started working there in early spring of 2011, with a serious chainsmoking problem, and every fifteen minutes, he makes a beeline for the front door, lighting his cigarette before he even gets outside, regardless of who is waiting to be rung out. The front door smells like an ashtray. it is disgusting, and I will never go back there again as I do not want my health to be jeopardized because this fat s lob is too stupid to stop destructive, unhealthy behaviors, and be a health risk to those who enter the store. finished with this place!

I think they need to drug test the waterloo store they are. Doin drugs and they don't never have what u need this is waterloo sc I don't understand why this store ant bein watched never no stock out ....

The Port Orange, Florida store has a maanager that is very rude, confrontational and unprofessional. I will never go in that store again

I worked for Dollar General for almost a year. I started out as a cashier and quixkly moved up to Assistant Manager. I loved working for Dollar General. I enjoyed interacting with the public and you really get to know your regular customers on a personal basis. I quit because alot of complaints were being made to corporate about the District Manager at the time and nothing was being done. I worked at the store on State Street in Columbus, Indiana. The District Manager's name was Carissa. I approached her one day and told her I was gonna be quitting and gave her a two (2) week notice. I worked the whole two weeks and then left. Recently I went and applied for Dollar General again, after being notified by a friend that Carissa was no longer there and that DG was hiring. After going through all the paper work and online test, I was told that I could not be rehired for quitting and walking out. I was told that DG "BLACKBALLED" me for walking out and quitting. I was FURIOUS! I did not walk out! I gave a 2 week notice and worked the whole 2 weeks. This is ridiculous! I done what I thought was right by giving a notice. I was also told by CARISSA, that if I chose in the future to return to Dollar General, there would be no problem. She apparently lied to Corporate! I DID give a notice and I loved my job and worked very hard. I ran the store on State Street for months without a day off, opening and closing the store with no help at all. There was no store manager, so it was all up to me, and I dealt with it! Now I get treated this way! UNBELIEVABLE!!!
