The people working need to remember that others hear what is said to the customer and also to other co workers. You don't have to be rude. You may have a bad day but don't we all but don't take it out on others. Herington, Ks.. hope you hear or read this.
The store in Alpine Texas has very cluttered aisles, lazy staff, and the manager, Heather, used to be kind and very diligent about her job. But you noticed I said used to. Today I went in and 2 aisles were impassable, with boxes and carts. A girl stocking a shelve had a stereo sitting on the shelve with rude and vulgar "noise" emitting from it at a very high volume. Looked for Purina Kitten Chow and the shelve of course was empty. I asked for someone to go find it and was told it would be tomorrow before anyone would be able to. Please tell me why, I as a customer, trying to spend money, have to wait for the staff to get around to doing their jobs. And, why can't this store have enough stock on hand without running out between delivery trucks? The way this store is being operated is just forcing customers to go somewhere else to spend their money. Since the Family Dollar burned, I have seen that this Dollar General store has more customers, but the shelves have been empty more than filled. The store is dirtier and poorly staffed. Plus prices on most items are now higher (and you can't tell me that this simply due to inflation). Please send someone that the staff does not know to see for themselves what I have said is true. Maybe it's time to think about changing this stores entire staff with a crew that is willing to work...
I will never shop at Dollar General again, they do not accept Mastercard credit cards but yet they accept Mastercard debit cards, bad business!!! I will do all my shopping at Dollar Tree and Family Dollar, they gladly accept my Mastercard! F**k Dollar General!!!
I'M WRITING ABOUT THE DOLLAR GENERAL STORE IN DENTON,NORTH CAROLINA I JUST LOVE THIS STORE BUT SINCE THEY REMODELLED THIS STORE IT IS UNREAL WITH THE MESS THEY ARE IN. I THINK THEY HAVE HAD ENOUGH TIME TO GET THE SHELVES STOCKED AND THE ITEMS OFF OF THE FLOOR. YOU CAN NOT GET DOWN THE ISLES ANY MORE. IT IS JUST A MESS. I'm here @ the dollar general in roselle, nj...my nephew was supposed to have started work @ 6am. Its now 6:34 & the manager aint even here yet to open the doors. To my understanding he's late every day. This guy need to be reported. I, myself have things to do & I don't want to leave & this guy never show up.
I shop at Dollar General several times a week and enjoy it. The only problem I have is the road leading to the store. It is in need of repair. There are holes so big the whole front end of my car bottomed our. Some one is going to get hurt. I was told the road is the responsibiity of Dollar General, Anderson Brother Bank and Carolina Hotel. I was also told Dollar General refuses to help pay for repairing the road. Some one is going to get hurt or their car is going to get messed up because of the condition of the road. Please help me understand why you will not help with needed repair. If something is not done soon people will not be able to get to the store. How will that be for business. I went to the Dollar General store that was in the Danese Wv area Store # 11623 I went to check out and the lady was so Hateful to me and my family. That she didn't even bag my stuff that i had purchased. Even when my husband ask her a Question about one of the cell phone. She was so hateful to him! Her Name is Samantha Crookshanks.

Today I went into DG Store #03551 to go pick up some things I needed, I was a regular customer up until now. This store has a policy where people are made to leave their bags up front for some odd reason. I have never stolen anything, I am not a criminal and sometimes I came in with my backpack and I keep valuable things in it such as my Cellphone and sometimes my Laptop. Well today it happened again and there was a young man who was cleaning up the front window and when I walked in rudely screamed bags!!! Bag!!!! as if I am suppose to understand what that meant, I noticed that not everyone has to put their bags up front such the women who carry their purses or other bags, I feel I was singled out cause I am white and most of the employees are African American and have an attitude problem. I was a good patron to DG I go grocery shopping at the Food Lion near by and usually stop off at DG to pick up items that are more expensive at Food Lion. But after the treatment I received today I will be shopping else where for now on. Maybe Dollar Tree would like my money more. GOOD BYE DG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Employees should not be allowed to use their cell phones while at work.Its disrespectful and should be stopped by the company.You dont see employees at Wal Mart doing this.
After today, I will never set foot in another DG store again. Store # 12999 just opened not even 30 days ago in Syracuse NY. I walked in the store this AM to use the $5 off $20 purchase coupon that was mailed to my house in a post card form. Upon entering the store, the manager walked right by me...no greeting? Ok. The manager was stocking shelves in one aisle and yelling across 3 aisles to another staff member. While screaming and cursing at the same time, this manager blatenly disrespects all customers in the store by discussing her events that occured that evening as well as keeping us all informed about the latest staff gossip. Did I mention that she was yelling this to another staff across 3 aisles and using obsene language too. I am very taking back by this behavior of a DG store manager. Today is 9/11/11 - a day of solidarity and mourning. Need I say more. As I rushed to cash out and leave; as I was disgusted by the store managers actions and behavior, I went to use my credit card and she rudely stated that DG doesnt accept CC. I kindly ignored her disrespectful and rude comment and continued processing my transaction. Once the CC went through, I looked at her and asked for her name and manager name so I can file a complaint. She stated "Iam the store manager" and refused to provide the Regional Managers name and contact info. I kindly responded that with her behavior I have no idea how she became a manager but with her attitude probably wont be one for too long. I left the store and went online to find the corporate office information and customer relations phone number. i am pretty happy of my newly open d. g. store.....but at times the line to check out is long that is when whoever else is there working should drop everything and go open up another check out line......also those that work there should be always on the look out for any customer that needs help....and not be so into stocking up the goods that they forget the CUSTOMER
i am wrighting this cause me and my family went to the leonard store my son picked a pice of candy that when we checked out it wrang up 1cents so the sales person told us that he couldnt get it cause it rang up so cheap well i had to have the manager call corp just to get the candy and corp just said they were sorry well some times sorry is just not good enough for me i felt like we were missed treated and we will never go in that store again see cause right up the road is a family dollar and that is were me and my family and all of my friends will shop from now on and since i do work, live and shop for the school that might be alot of dollars lost dollar general
i was overcharged for a purchase at DG in cross SC. the cashier said only the manager could give refunds and he was not there. she tried several times to get him on the phone while i'm forced to wait bout an hour because she didn't know what she she was doing. finally she was instructed on how to give me my refund. after giving my refund she was very rude. shoving my receipt in my hand and not offering an apology or anything. I don't know her name but she was the cashier on friday sept. 9,2010 around 6:00 pm. i will not shop at your store again. she even stated that every store gives refunds by the manager. even the customer behind me said she didn't know what she was talking about
Always very long line and only 1 cash register open. Managers aware of long line and angry customers but refuse to open another cash register even if something is said about opening another cash register Donna or the other male manager just walk away. This is terrible customer service and has caused customers myself included to walk out because they can't wait 10 or 15 minutes in line. If you go into the Dollar General in Prescott Valley Arizona give yourself plenty of time, you can't be in a hurry at this store!
First off I often visit the DG store in Bonduel,WI, due to the convenience. I very much dislike shopping here. I have never met a group of service professionals that have been so unhelpful and crabby. You feel put out by shopping there. The manager is a real piece of work, for a manager that associates with the public her public image leaves a lot to be desired. Today I was shopping there with a logo on my shirt of the business I represent and right in front of me she made a comment about our product. It does not matter to me if she likes or dislikes it but to make a comment to another customer while in line right in front of me about this product is very unprofessional in a small town word travels fast. DG is lucky it has no competion in this town or it would be bankrupt. They better take a look and see how long it takes to be helped, how the associates don't even recognize you are there, sometimes you stand at the check out for 5 minutes before someone comes to help. It is beyond ridiculious for a customer service company to run this way. The manager and her side kick should be replaced immediately in my opinion and many others around the town.
And they allow you to take a survey, I don't want to win I want to talk to someone. I choose the lowest score and still could not leave feedback. The survey is a real joke as you are not accomplishing fixing anything. You really don't want to hear about our visit. One question, a real joke!!

I was visiting my local dollar general today when i noticed a large amount of CLOTHING AND SHOES IN THE DUMPSTER.I went over to the dumpster to check it out.I started removing infant clothing that i was planning on donating but found it was covered in bleach.i also found a 10 pund bag of dog food also covered in bleach.there were numerous open bottles of cleaning chemicals leaking onto the ground that the employees opened and dumped there.i was confronted by the manager that told me to leave or he would call the cops.our groundwater is only 12 feet below the ground and I am very concerned for the safety of our environment.i participate in coastal cleanup efforts and do everything i can to keep this place clean.even picking up around the dumpsters at your stores. i have seen boxes of batteries,ballasts,cleaning chemicals.and dog and bird food covered in bleach.we have endangered migratory birds that travel over florida.and your bins are left wide open inviting them to come eat their last meal.I WAS TOLD IT WAS COMPANY POLICY TO PUT BLEACH ON OLD MERCHANDISE.WELL IF THATS COMPANY POLICY THEN DOLLAR GENERAL DOES NOT CARE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT,AS THEY STATE ON THEIR WEBSITE.I PERSONALLY WILL POST THIS ON EVERY WEBSITE I CAN AND BOYCOTT DOLLAR GENERAL.I AM STARTING TO DOCUMENT THIS ON FILM.AND I ALREADY HAVE DOCUMENTATION OF THIS IMPROPER DISPOAL AND WILL SEND IT TO EVERY NEWS STATION IN AMERICA.I'M PAYING FOR A SPOT IN THE TALLAHASSEE DEMOCRAT AS SOON AS I FEEL NECESSARY.THERE WILL BE YOUTUBE VIDEOS. I would have to say that I have went to several dollar stores. I just spent 3 months in bowling green Missouri visiting my family. I really have to say that they have the worst customer service and they act like they don't care what you need. Just Sunday I was going in to buy something. Well, I had seen that someone drove into the store but I didn't pay any mind to that. Then when I was at the check out lane I couldn't get anyone to come to the front. So I went looking around for someone to check me out and that is when I saw that the workers had been talking about what happened to their store. Then I asked if I can get someone to check me out and that is when the employee let out a disgusted sigh and said YES! I was so offended that I walked out! unpleasant atmosphere and customer service. I would rather shop at Wal-Mart over Dollar Store ANY DAY!
