I currently work at.dollar general in marlow Oklahoma an my store manager is cutting only my hours I'm only getting 13 hours this week an I don't know why but she is giving everyone else more hours but me what do I do about it?

**********My friend has worked at dg for many years il. alot of people may think dg employees dont treat them right.. but my experieance with both sides tell me if they get treated good they return the pleasant atmosphere... Many times at this store the costomer abuses the employee! They often have to take verbal abuse( often)! If im in any store and hear a customer yelling or cursing an employee i will listen long enough to let the person make a complete ass of themselves, then i will calmly tell them how rediculous they are. alot of people yell and curse just to get something for nothing and its not fair to the employee to have to be abused like that. you could go to jail if you did this in your own house!!!They allways yell " im calling corporate! Trying to get the hard working employees fired.And most of them dont even work themselves or like me they would appriciate a hard working individual.Alot of time these stores are under staffed and can barely get the work done as it is.And it seems like every year they add more to the daily list. I would also like to ask corp. employees.....Do YOU get to eat thanksgiving with your family?? But you say on the other end ( we need to be open on that day incase someone forgets something....I say you white collar big wigs are the one forgetting something.. and its that your employees are mothers-fathers-grandma, etc...that would love to spend thanks giving with the family like you...next time you have grace at the table on that special day say thanks for the ones who are at the store getting yelled at while you enjoy your holiday....Thank you (( Both corporate AND customers should treat the employees better))***************

The dollar general store in Mcleansboro Illinos needs to be looked at!! the manager seams to be very (sweet, kind and nice) tell you hear her berate the employees while customers are standing there. she is always on the phone and wants to be called "Miss" what a joke she needs a life and lesson on kindness she might be a great Manager but some where she missedthe lesson on be a people person!!!

The store in Randolph wisconsin has only one employye working today and this poor guy is trying as hard as he can to keep up with stock regaster and keeping the store clean. I can not beleave you would not call in another DG worker from another store to help this poor man i am very dissapointed I see him at least 2-3 times a week working his tail off and you can't get someone else in there to help him

I'm working in a Dollar Tree in California, and the DM is very inconsiderate. The store manager has schedule the associates to work and the schedule comes out every week. I have been schedule for on call for 2 weeks and this week I have got schedule in for 3 days for the week, for some reason, the DM came in, she ask my manager to have me off for the rest of the week. How can we make a living if the DM keeps on doing this to the fellow associates.

Good MORNING, I thought alot of dollar general until a DM in his district screwed him. He let him go without no reason. He will find out just how hard my husband worked and how he kept that store running. He would go in 2,3am and get off 3,4,5pm alot. plus you name it whatever else.The person he put in his place won'nt ever be able to keep up. The DM will see that. I applied for a job at the new warehouse here in Birmingham al , I passed the first interview then was told id be contacted later . One of the employee contacted me stating I had to pass a back ground check , and after that I'd have to pass a physical as well as a drug test . I also was working for ups part time , I got a call yesterday night saying I'd passed the back ground and all I had to do was the rest . So the next morning I quit my job at ups on the notion that I'd gotten the job at dollar general . I m in excellent health nor do I do drugs . Later that morning the employer calls me saying they made a mistake , I didn't pass the background and they couldn't offer me the job . Not only was I furious because I just quit the only means of income but when I spoke with her boss . He had a attitude and showed no compassion what so ever . How can I pass a back ground for ups but not a small store chain ? This company has no morals what so ever

The store in Willis Tx,where I live is the worst I ever saw.The new manager I have, seen,has a problem with being nice,you read her face well.She hates her job and lets, all of us know.And I know for three months they haven't got the parakeet bird seed, I buy it like 2 times a week.And this other African American,she is so rudeI ask her, a question and she just ignored me.And it is always freezing in the store,me as a shopper cannot stay long so I try to hurry out.Would be nice if you had some more, caring,happy,and helpful worker

I contacted Dollar General to complain about the trash that is often around their store in my neighborhood. gives the area a rundown appearance and does not look nice at all. not only was the problem fixed within a few days, but Dollar General sent me a lovely apology and a $100 coupon to use in any of their stores. they are tops with this home-schooling Mom.

I am a frequent customer of Dollar General store #04869 located in Clemson, S.C. Until recently I have been very pleased with all aspect of the store. However in the last 6-8 months, I have walked into the store several times to find the person on duty sleeping behind a stack of boxes near the front register. It doesn't matter what time of day it has been - she is hiding behind boxes, sitting in a lawn chair and sleeping. Myself and others in the store could have walked out with anything I suspect since she never moves unless we literally wake her up to check us out. This person is not neat in appearance; not friendly by any means; and obviously is a poor employee. I thought perhaps she would be found out and dismissed, but she continues to be employed as of my visit today 1/26/2012. I happen to mention this to the manager of the Central, SC store and she said she had others mention this to her also. I probably won't continue to use the Clemson, SC store, but take my business to the Central, SC store because of this. I urge someone to check out this employee and put the store in more competent hands.

Hello, I went to the store close to my home, I was waited on by the manager Richard. I told him I had been in the store alot an put in my application like 8 times,which I live right around the block from them. He got really rude with me, an raised his voice, there was 2 customers behind me an I got so embarrassed, and I apologized to them, and left, so they lost a customer an will loose more if I have anything to do with it. I don't see the beef about hiring me for a job with them I have manager experience, but I guess I will go else where for a job. Thanks, Pamela Powell

Dollar General in San Antonio, 5810 Pecan Valley Dr, this store justed opened was stocked,when opened same employees, now there are different ones, went in on Saturday, was doen the asile on the cosmetics, as I stepped forward by foot got stuck, there was something liquid on the floor, saw Priscilla and showed her where it was and it kept going all around the store, she could not find the mop & bucket, there was a young man no name tag, had cell phone in hand was texting, he asked her what she was doing, and he said he would take care of it, as I went to the isle, there on the floor was a big spot, he sad it was detergent, he could not find the mop bucket which was up front by the restrooms, I knew where it was, but he could not find it, if he would just put the phone away and stop texting, maybe he could have taken care of it, then I go to the register Priscilla, is there and she just throws the items in the bag. Used to be a good store. Original Mgr not there. She was good. Now you have a 15yrs old that just walks around and does not even bend over to pick items from the floor, just shoves them aside with her foot.

i live in emporium pennsylvania and my dollar general store is a big joke. everytime anyone of me or my friends walk in there the employees follow us around like hawks its disrespectfuul. t4here is alwaays stuff setting in the middle of the isle so you cant get through and when the employees are putting there stock away their asscracks and thongs are always haning out its gross. every1 i know shoplifts from there its ridiculous. and the manager shari is the biggest bitch ive ever met! one time i went to check out and the cashier was talking on the phone and it took her 10 mins to check me out! very unorganized there.

I do not want to tell my name or what dollar general I am talking about but I work there and I am part time and my manager keeps changeing the scedule and not informimg us before our next scheduled day and it is really getting me mad! I also have had a lot of people complaing and about the manager and he never helps put the merchandise away from the day we get truck.I'm not sure what I should do. I heard if you talk to the DM he will just tell the manager who complains about him. There is also a rumour that when the lease is up that the store will be closeing. How can I find if this is true? Please let me know if anyone could tell me what I should do and find out information. Thank you.
