Dollar General Corporate Office & Headquarters

I just left your Dollar General store # 12630 in Austin Texas. It smells strongly of paint. There are no fans in there circulating the air. In just the few minutes that I was in there getting the items that I needed I started feeling sick to my stomach. I can't imagine how the workers feel. One of the customers informed me that they talked to a worker who said they had been trying to get a hold of the district manager for a while now. And have gotten no response. I think they should of had the store closed while the paint was drying. The fumes were so bad people walked in and walked right back out. I think that is a very bad condition for those workers to be working in.

I live in Marion Indiana. My husband and I walked to the Dollar General right across the street from us store number 00131 and I must say 2 woman that work there at the time they were stocking and could not have been more unprofessional. I felt as if I were in a war zone. I asked where I could find window blinds felt completely ignored as they were ranting about another customer. I love Dollar General but I will no longer go to this store which is less than 2 minutes from my home. I will travel down the road where the employees are much nicer. I know if I ran this store those 2 would have been fired right on the spot. One of them even approached a customer as she was leaving the store and told her not to come back they did not want her kind there.If I were to do this where I worked I could assure you I would not have had that job for very long. When you work in the public you must act like you have some sense. And to treat your customers with some dignity. These 2 sure lacked that

WHY IS THIS STORE IN SUMRALL,MISSISSIPPI. ALWAYS HAVE THIS GARBAGE IN FRONT OF IT ON THEM CARTS BUGGYS AND TABLES OK PUT SOME THINGS OUT THERE IS GOOD BUT I BEEN TO OTHERE DG STORES AND THAY DONT DO THAT THIS HEAD MANAGER HERE SHE MAKES THESE WORKERS PUT THIS TRASH OUT EVERY MORNING AND BRING IT IN EVERY NIGHT. CARTS FULL OF SODA TRASH NO ONE WILL BUY IN THE STORE. BUGGYS FULL OF JUNK WHY YOU DO YOUR WORKERS LIKE THIS.AND YOU HAVE ONE MANAGER IN HERE I SEEN HER NAME TAG ITS HOLLY THAT THE NAME ON TAG SHE TREATS THEM WORKERS LIKE SLAVES SNAPPING HER FINGERS YALLING AT THEM DO THIS DO THAT A WORKER CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH SO FAST WE SUMRALLS AND AULTMANS WE MAKE UP LIKE 80% OF THIS TOWN AND WE DONT LIKE THIS STUFF GOING ON YOU NEED TO DO SOMTHING ABOUT THE 2 HEAD MANAGERS THERE AND ITS NO GOOD TO TELL VINCE HE DONT CARE. I TOLD HIM TIME AND TIME AGAIN A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVE ABOT THIS STUFF AND THE WAY THESE 2 MANAGERS TREAT THE WORKERS HE GOES TELL THE HEAD MANGER AND SHE TAKES IT OUT ON THE ONLY WILL MANAGER AND WORKER THIS PLACE HAS I SEEN THESE PEOPLE STILL FROM THIS STORE AND THE HEAD MANAGER KNOWS THAY DO AND SHE WANT DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT IS THIS A GOOD MANAGER OR HER 2 KEY MANGER HOLLY ONE MANAGER DOES TRY YOUR 3 ONE THIS IS GETTING BAD YOU.

I work for dg for a year the store has changed store managers 3times and each time I had been up for a keyholder spot mind u I have over 15 years managment exp. I m tired of working 8 to 10 hours a week I have a family of 8 hw can I provide. N a dg metting the dm steve said he does this job to tak care of his family I think of that everytime I look at the schedule this comp is so full of it. Right now our store in dfw has a store manager and one key holder that hasent had a day off n 2 weeks. So I cant figure out why they run their comp this way I wish I ddnt need this job ive had a lot of jobs this is the worst one ever

I live in French Settlement, LA....We received a $5 off coupon on $20 or more in the mail on Monday. Yesterday we went into Denham Springs, LA to do some shopping and on the way back stopped at a Dollar General next to the store we'd been at to buy cleaning supplies. My purchases rang up to $27 plus some change. The cashier kept saying my coupon had expired (in 4 days?). Then the manager came over and she said, well this isn't for our store, we aren't printing any coupons..this was not a register receipt but a coupon YOUR CORPORATE had sent. So, then she said it was for a store in Baton Rouge...now tell me, why would I want to drive 45 minutes, fight traffic and go all the way to Baton Rouge when I have 5 DG's within 15 miles of me and spend $10-$15 in gas to save $5? We went to the truck and got the card the coupon was on and the expiration date said March 30, 2012...so my husband went back in the store. This time the so-called manager told him "Oh, you have to use it on March 30." Now I have never heard of a coupon having to be used on the same day it expires...I thought they were good up to that day. ANYWAY....If she is right and they are not good except in Baton Rouge, do not send them to French Settlement, THAT IS STUPID. Another thing, if it was good and they just would not accept it, I think they could be collecting these discounts (as we left the coupon there) and charging people full price, then at the end of the day, take out $5 for every coupon and stick it in their pockets... I can say this...I WILL NEVER GO INTO ANOTHER DG AGAIN....Walmart will be my place of purchase...to heck with your stores.

I just let the store and I will never go their again My husband left his card at home I had pay for My food items and did have his card to pay for My child Easter eggs so man made me give my food backi And refund the money for the food I want my fooditems He was a jerk and I will be reporting that store

I went into a dollar general two days ago and along with about 20 other people was disrespected to the fullest! The store in San Angelo on main street the tall some what bald gay man let it be known that although there were several employees and 20 paying customers w all were going to have to wait! Well 6 of is walked out. O walked out because I would had been late for work, don't know why the others walked out. As we were all walking out, the tall gay cashier in a very queer snobbish voice says have aperfect day. Very sarcastic uncaring and rude.there were to many employees for him to day they weren't going to open another register and we were all going to have to just wait. Sad part is he/she was probably a manager.very disrespectful and Gabe very poor service and dipolar general lost 6 people in seconds.wonder how often that happens and how many customers are list daily.I won't shop there again and will continue to constantly tell people all the time how me and many others were treated that day. 6 people ina matter of harsh words list all that business.

On two previous occasions, when I've been asked to leave my bags from other stores at the register of the DG in Groesbeck, TX, my things have been stolen. Tonight, when I objected to this policy; and, on those grounds; Ken, the manager, told me that it was "company policy." When I said that he needed to ask DG to revise their policy, he told me that it was he that made that decision. He cared, not at all, that I have never stolen anything out of his store. Neither did he care that he was about to lose a $300/month customer. I'm sure that Family Dollar will appreciate the fact that his foolish behavior has gained them another customer. :(

it sure looks like all DG stores need complete courses in how to speak to customers. i like all others am talked to like i'm a idiot. i do see racisim in our store also. the lays products were buy 2 get 1 free. sihn posted in front of all lays products and the bottom of the sale ticket it says assorted. i bought 1 corn chip 1 barbq corn chip and 1 cheese puff. she said she had to charge full price for each because they had to all be the same. i showed her it says assorted she said it rings up funny. of course i put them all back for her to roll her eyes. family dollar come on we need you to replace this DG and all their ugly racisist workers. i will not shop here again. to bad for coinvience.

I live right by the Morris Alabama Dollar General and I have to say it is the worst one i have ever shopped at. There's only one register open most of the time & the line will be all the way back to the 1st isle, while the manager stays in the office. I went in today March 11th to get 3 items & had to stand in line behind several people with that were buying alot more stuff. I asked the cashier if she would get the manager to open the other register and she said in a very rude way "She's on her lunch break" which meant she was still in the building sitting behind the see thru glass. The manager peeped her head out and asked if she was needed and the cashier told her no to finish eating! It wouldn't have taken her but a few minutes to clear out some customers. I use to manage a convenience store & i always had to eat in between customers! You should never have a line with more than a few people in it. Also i paid the cashier with a 100$ bill and instead of counting my change back she just handed it to me and shorted me 20$. If i hadn't stood right there & counted it i wouldnt have gotten my 20$ back. She was rude about that also and when she handed me the 20$ she didn't even say sorry.She acte like i was wrong for even asking her to get her manager to open a register!! Someone needs to get this store in shape cause there are way too many lazy people working there!

My husband works at the dollar general in kannapolis NC. This store use to have a great manager til he was tranfered then they switched to this guy names keith. for starters this man is trying to change everything. litterally everyone but my husband and another employee has transfered out of this store because of the manager. My husband will work from open to close WITHOUT a break...this is illegal. I cant believe dollar general would hire and keep someone like this!!!! This manager doesnt train his employees and thinks that he is better than them. This store is located in 106 S ENOCHVILLE AVE KANNAPOLIS, NC. This manager has no idea what he is doing hopefully it doesnt hurt the dollar general corp...but I see alot of other negative comments about the stores in other areas aswell..makes us wonder if the corporation will do anything about these problems or not...

I worked for Dollar General and was up for promotion and went to take drug test and I had stage fright so they fired me. I went back after 6 months to get rehired and passed the test on computer then she called corporate put in my social security number and I am still currently unhireable great huh. :/ So they actually do look down on drug users even if you dont do drugs, if I could've peed that day I would've passed my drug test no doubt 100% sure. They fired me off an assumption. So i will try again after 1 year of my firing date wish me luck. :/

i am empolyee at dollar general and lp came to our store he accused me of stealing becuz my register was cummin up short i do agree that i would make you think that i was stealing i move very fast on the register and thats maybe why i was coming up do short i dont know but i wasnt stealing i kept telling him to show me proof that was but kept telling me that he couldnt i didnt see sny where in the hsnd book thst he was suppose to show proof i agree that i made myself look bad by writing a statement but it was almost like me made me do it i was taking thing and without for rigt then but i paid for them my the end of my shift and so was everybody else that work there i do apogize for any loss to the dg copration if i am fired i wanted yall to knw that enjoyed working for dg i just wish that i was showed some proof i dont think thats to much to ask for when your being accused

The Shavertown Dollar General's manager is horrible!!! I often stop there on my lunch break either to grab little things I need or just to look around & shop. Today, I misread a sales sign, once at the register I noticed my mistake & told the cashier (a very nice woman) that I did not want the selected items (that I mistook the sales price) but would like to pay for my remaining purchases. she had the manager (not a nice woman) come to the front to void the selected items I didn't wish to purchase: She came out yelling at me. She kept insisting there was an issue with the pricing; I told her it was my mistake and I no longer wanted the items, she kept yelling, "where did you think you saw that pricing" I again told her that I was mistaken & I told her it was no big deal I just didn't want to purchase them at the current price, she kept yelling, "it is a big deal, my lunch was interupted for this sh**" By this time there was a very long line; she opened another register and proceeded to bad mouth me to the customers...... I will NEVER shop there again, I would rather pay the extra cost at the supermarket than deal with her humiliation again.

Was just wondering why a friend of mine who worked for a DG distribution center can't get rehired becasue he quit to go into business for himself, but others can get terminated for drug use and be rehired within a month. Oh and this friend of mine had to write a letter to the corporate office explaining why he quit and is awaiting his hiring status to be overturned from non-rehireable to rehireable. I guess he should have just gotten fired for using drugs instead, at least the company wouldn't have frowned on it and he would be able to be rehired. Apparently they condone drug use and look at it as a minor offense.

I went to my local store in Watson Louisiana i was so shock to here the manager tell one of the white employees that his kind had to pick strawberry and cotton so their for it was her job to pick up after him,personal i think it was a racist remark and to find out he speaks to most of his employees this way. a few days later i spoke to the little girl and ask her why she puts up with his comments she said she had just been hired and he always makes remarks that everyone is replaceable I guess that explains why their are always new employees their , i also went to the store before close to see the same manager with his girl friend smooching wearing no shoes i hope someone listens some how of the way he speaks to this little girls something has to be done ,i could bring more issues up about this same manager maybe a higher up need to look into this matter so the employees dont feel they will lose their job by speaking up please so something

i am a general local truck driver out of Evansville In. i have been in your poseville store several times it seems that every time I go into this store there is some type of altercation. went into the store a couple of weeks back to hear a woman just going off. she was yelling at a young woman had her in tears. kinda let it go. today went in in and this same woman was going off on another young lady about lunch in the middle of the store. well the arguement was about here time apparently she had started about 1:30 and she was being sent at 3:30 this woman was so rude. I asked the cashier who she was ans all she would say was shes the manager i believe her name was jessica I made a commit to her about this and all she said was it wont do any good becouse all you would do is loose your job I think that it is sad you rule your store by fear not a good way to keep help. As for me im done with this store becouse there is so much drama all the time good luck in the feature.

the 14th street store in ocala needs to get better employees. the cashier was rude. didint even ackknowledge me as a customer and was on her cell phone the whole time. rolled her eyes and heavy sighed when all i had was a $50 bill to pay for my items. didint even turn the turnstyle to let me ge my bag had to reach over to get it , very rude. didnt get her name she did not have her tag on. very poor service

I am a frequent customer of the dollar general in Georgetown,IN. I am in there several times a week at different times. there is a manager by the named of marie. When she is "working" she is doing one of two things,either talking to other employees about her sexual relations(she is NOT young, at least in her 50's, or bad mouthing the other managers, saying how lazy they are,etc. It has been my experience that the other managers,Chuck and Traci, are polite,very hard working, and go out of their way on a daily basis to make that store the best that it can be. when there is an issue of any kind, you can count on the other two to handle it promptly, customers usually have to wait several minutes for the cashier to "go find" this Marie.It will be a long time before i shop the store again, until Dollar General opens their eyes and sees what is going on in that store.

I have a complaint about the Dollar General on Nova Rd. in Daytona Beach, Fla. I walked into the store as two employees were discussing aloud the 15 minutes they had left til closing. It was then 9:45 pm. I had a short list with about five items on it. I told the employee I seen that I would be quick, I knew what I needed. My boyfriend walks up to me, we were going over the list, I picked up an extra item, then I was approached by an incredibly RUDE woman who said it looked as if I put something in my purse, in the words, "you're not putting something in your purse are you? I want to check it. Can I check it?" I'm totally shocked that she even said that. She then said we were 'congregating as if we were theiving'. I took this as a huge insult!! She started rushing us out the store saying they were closing. I looked at my watch and we still had 13 minutes, I was almost done. She said no, that my watch was wrong. Very persistent, very rude. I told my boyfriend to put the stuff down, I will NOT spend money in that Dollar General again. The entire walk from the back of the store from the washing powder isle until we got to the door she just kept on about how my clock was wrong. I have never encountered a person as rude as this woman was. She certainly has no business working in customer service with such a poor attitude. Oh yes, and I let her check my purse when she asked-as I'm standing there in shock-and of course she found nothing. I will never go back to that Dollar General Store. My boyfriend and I peddled bicycles in the cold to get to this store because I liked it so much and I needed to pick these items up tonight. What a disappointment.
