I went into the dollar general store in HOLDEN,MISSOURI.. Where I awas not greeted. Then as I walked though the store not one employee asked me if they could help me. When I did finally see an employee and asked her where an item was located.. She looked at me and I am needed at the register and walked off.. The manager was standing talking to what seemed to be a friend.. As I left my cart and walked out of the store.. The worst service I have seen....

A few weeks ago, my nephew Richie, walked into Dollar General (store number 06495, In the Ocala National Forest) at around 8:50pm. Mind you, the store closes at 9:00pm. People were still shopping in the store. So he walks in, and the store manager (JIM) says to my nephew that they are closed and he needs to leave. Richie states that people are still shopping and that it isnt 9:00. He then tells him he has 1 minute. So he hurrys to get what he wants and before the minute had even finished he was telling Richie to get in line. A few customers were in front of him, so he goes back to look while the line was long. When Richie goes and checks out, he asked JIM for the coorporate number and he says he dont have one and to get out. He clearly was being belligerent. Richie states that he cant hold that information and he doesnt feel like he should have been treated that way. So today, Me and my nephew returned today to do our normal saturday shopping, and at the check out, Richie proceeded to ask the nice cashier if she had the number. She said she didnt, but her store manager did. So Richie walks up the the office and asks politely to JIM, what is the coorporate number, and he then says he dont have one. So Richie asks for the store number and address. He then tells Richie to go out side and its on the wall. Richie asks him to show him. As they begin to walk out the office, JIM proceeds to close the door behind him and doesnt follow him out side. This whole time, Im cashing out at the register. Richie walks in and asks where he went and the cashier said he closed the door behind him. So Richie knocked on the door, and JIM swung it open and right away began telling Richie to leave, and that he was going to call the cops on him for trespassing and being a trouble maker. Richie wasnt. I witnessed this myself and Richie was being very polite. This man JIM is just afraid to lose his job. I will never go into a Dollar General again after being treated with such disrespect. There was no reason for him to act this way. And any one who feels like they can act that way, dont deserve to have a job when other people in this bad economy could fill his place in no time.

I shopped the DG Store in Lawton ,Oklahoma numerous times. This Store is located at 1110 SE 45th St STE A. You have an employee there that is very "RUDE" NO CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AT ALL!!!!! his name is justin. I came in your store 5 minutes before closing. The store was fairly busy. I picked up 6 items to purchase. As I am proceeding to the check out justin approached me and begin to whispher to me that I needed to check out NOW the STORE IS CLOSING. I WAS VERY OFFENDER BY IS STATEMENT TO ME AS WELL AS HIM APPROACHING ME. Now understand, I am not the only one in the Store. There was a WHITE couple shopping also, which he did not say nothing too.He needs to know that's what the PA is for. It appears to me that he has some Prejudice Issues. I called him out on it! This is not the first time I have had a RUDE ENCOUNTER with him. I have put my money in his hand and when he gave my change back, he put it on the counter. So, now with this incident I will not TOLERATE THIS TYPE OF RUDE CUSTOMER SERVICE. People are being layed off everyday and there are some like justin who think there not expendable. Just so you know my receipt time is 21:02. So that should tell you something! Also the couple was still shopping when I left the store. So justin needs to get his act TOGETHER!!!!! GOD CAN SEE RIGHT THROUGH HIM.

THe dollar general in Itta Bena is very poor. For one thing you got sick employees taking pictures of young girls butt while they shop. This is very sad, it happens quite often, a phone was found of one of the employees and its a fact and one of the pictures is a relative of mines, so my next question is why shop at the dollar general in Itta Bena, look like some sick stuff going on.

While my children and I were stopping in at the dollar general in Nassau Bay off upper bay dr. In Texas One of the employees jacqueline who stated to me that she was the manager, approached my daughter and asked her which one of her or her friends opened cupcakes and when my daughter said I dont know she then accused her of stealing the day before; after she told her she should not be hanging around with one of the girls that was with her. All this was said right in front of me and I then asked her not to tell my daughter who she can and can't hang out with. Then asked her why she was accusing my daughter of stealing. She then told me that she caught my daughter stealing, But then when I asked her why wasn't I called she then stated that all she was told was to follow the girls. But she kept saying she caught her. She didn't catch them doing anything, she didn't even ask the girls anything. The girls left the store and went to church across the street. This woman was accusing my daughter of something my daughter didn't do and doing it the day after it supposedly happened and with 4 or 5 customers watching. We were humiliated. I asked to see the video and was told that there wasn't any. She also said that she caught my daughter 2 months before doing the same thing. Funny thing is my daughter wasn't there 2 months before.

I drive for dg and have been so for four year But the store in elkton md is the worst store mng ment team i have ever seen l arrvd at 630terminal pm tuesday eve and was told could nt delvr they had 3 people in store he said 8and am i said ok Now its time person aays no one here until 9 am I Doller general needs to get all mngrs on track with freight delvy save is time and gets product in stores faster

South Bend,In store 4634, This is a very clean and very friendly store . The store manager Penny and her crew Mary, Marilyn, Nashell, Mike,Scott are always so friendly and always so helpful to the customer ,They go over and beyond for their customers ,these people should train at every store to show how customers should be treated and how to help customers in every way. Keep up the great work!! We your customers love you and love to come and shop at your store . We hope that Dollar General never lets this crew go because it is the Best Crew that they could ever have . We have been in the other stores in this area and they are dirty and their employees are rude and are never helpful to customers .

Went into the DG store In Pinehurst, TX where the employee was working was sitting in the chairs for sale in front of the front door smoking! My husband and I walked into the store looking for a tea maker (it was Easter Sunday) so all other stores were closed. The lady working was yelling to the other employee across the store cussing loudly about peoples' kids and cleaning up after them. We did not have our kids with us but if we had I would have been irate.

Our family shops at two local Dollar General's in our area. A third one is being built accross the street from our home. Our seventeen year old daughter would like to work for your company. She will be a senior in High School when the store opens. She has been told your company requires one to be eighteen years of age to work for your company. I was wondering what the reason for eighteen is? I would hope you would consider someone that was dependable and honest with good work ethics and wanting to work. Please reply. Thank you.

Unfortunately, I am writing this letter to bring notice about the customer service I received from the store manager “Carol” at this location. On April 10, 2012 @ approximately 11:15 am I visited this location to pick up a few items. As I was shopping I decided to inquire about the Easter merchandise. When I asked “Carol” if the Easter merchandise was a percentage off, she immediately asked me: If I had looked first before I asked. Because there is a sign up that says that it is 50% off. I was in awe! I walked over and showed her that there was not a sign up on that particular aisle. She then stated that there should have been a sign up.

My wife and I stopped at the Dollar General in Falston NC and when we parked we noticed a lot of trash in the tarking lot, papers, empty oil bottles and the trash can in front of the store was overflowing with trash. We entered the store and right away noticed that there was trash lying around on the floor that looked like it had not been swept or mopped in some time. There was merchandise falling off the shelves and lying in the aisles. When we went to the cashier to check out we voiced our opinion as to how trashy the store looked and asked who the manager was and she said his name was John and that the lead person was at the register behind us, we turned and asked what his name was she said John Gilbert. We also expressed our disbelief as to how the store looked and she said it gets swept and mopped every night. I told my wife that that had to be a lie and that we weren't as stupid to believe that! Anyone can tell when a store is swept and mopped the night before and that that was nothing but filthy. We have been to other stores that Dollar General owns and they are very nice and neat and clean but this was the worst we had encountered. Thanks

Is it common place for assistant managers to have sex with employees? In Massena New york at the Dollar General on Malby ave. works a very busy assistant manager, Christina Ann Warnock, whom has built a career lately out of having sex with married law enforcment and men in a position of authority. She has made it loud and clear that she has had sex with the vendor's that deliver good's to her place of work.Is the sex madatory? is it in the employee handbook stating "All assistant managers must have sex with the vendor's and store employee's"? It has further been brought to my attention that Christina Warnock was married herself at the time of this infadelity. It seem's her work ethic's go far and beyond the call of duty. I feel bad for her husband. He is most likely better off without someone like this tramp in his life.If what it takes for a woman to work at Dollar General is to take her clothes off and lye down then maybe I would like a job there as well. As far as family values you can bet I wonte be bringing my kid's into that store. You have lost a few customer's. Keep hiring the loose meat Dollar General... nice job.

Just left a store in Blue Springs, MO. I had been in a few weeks ago and meet a breath of fresh air in a sales associate Rick/Chad. He was by far the most interesting / professional / person I ever met in that store or any store for that matter. I over heard other customers saying they would come back to the store just because of his personality. This time when I walked in the atmosphere was a complete 180 degrees different. The store was less busy and felt like a dungeon. When I inquired about Chad/Rick I was given a most discourteous answer of "He doesn't work here any more" When I attempted to pursue it further to se if he might be at another DG store the person (a middle aged woman and I think her name started with a "J" or a "G" in was hard to see her name tag) got extremely rude and said could I please stop asking. While I certainly understand turnover in this business I am dumb struck as to the manner it which I was spoken to. Obviously I will not return to to store. Wherever Chad/Rick ends up he will be a credit to the company and no doubt be managing one of more stores soon.

I just left DG main st on Altus ok.. I had the worst experience ever ... First the cashier was working what appeared to be by herself... Age started that her supervisor was in the back but didn't want help at the registers. I had some coupon I wanted to use and the cashier was unable to scan stating that her scanner wasn't workin properly, then she said that I couldn't use the coupons on the items I got because it was get $3 off any 3 Johnson & Johnson items and the gauzes were 1.50 and she couldn't figure out how to enter the coupon correctly... So she went to the back of the store to find the manager Roy .. I had never met anyone more incompetent in my life... I don't how can he even be on charge at that store... Then he went to tell that I could not use my coupons because they couldn't scan them and besides "I was holding up the line" he is the rudest person I have ever met... I will never go back to that store ever again....

The DG store in New Carlisle IN(store#04223) is a pathetic place to shop.The manager(Amanda) is the rudest person I have dealt with in a long time and her store has such a bad turn over for employees.new employees every week cuz the others quit because she has nothing nice to say about them or anybody that walks thru the door,she is constantly talking crap about everyone and thinks she above everyone and it doesnt stop at the store she is like that outside of the store.Its a very small town and its the only place to shop,but my family and I and alot of others will travel the 20 mins.to go to the next town to shop.She doesnt need to work with the public at all!They have lost alot of customers because of her.GET NEW MANAGEMENT!!!!!!

the dollar generals in our area are terriable. 1st no matter the time or day, theres only 1 cashier and a long line of people waiting. The store in Ozark arkansas's manager is so beyond bitter if i even see her in there i usually just walk out, shes not friendly at all, and the store is usually very dirty. the one in paris arkansas, are just a bunch of flakes who have vulgur lanuage, one girl who apparently thinks shes the hottest thing around (she isnt) well her shirt is usually inside out, so i dont know if she comes to work that way or has an inappropriate lunch break. none the less i will be glad when the family dollar in my town is open because thats where i will be doing all my non walmart business at!

Just left the Jonesboro store #07574 @ 7941 Tara Boulevard, Jonesboro, GA. Monique (the so-called manager) has to be the most obnoxious, unprofessional person I have ever met in my life. Besides looking like she just got out of bed, she was texting on her cellphone while a line was forming. I asked her about a (3) B4G2 coupons, that were not processed correctly the previous day. You would think that the $5.25 was her money. What are the qualifications for "customer service" at these type of stores? I belong to a coupon blog and my fellow couponers constantly COMPLAIN about the service that they receive at their local Dollar General. Luckily, there is another one down the street, that will get my business in the future. Do you think the corporate office even visits this page? On to TWITTER!

(This rating is for the Manager named Susan at my hometown Dollar General, not the store: I have just printed my Dollar General coupons, now to decide which DG to go to? Let me explain... Thursday evening I went to the DG about 8:00. I purchased a can of Hot Shot that had an instant 55 cent coupon on the can. The young cashier did not notice the coupon and I forgot to mention it. Just before I walked out the door I realized this and as I was explaining what I had forgotten to do, I walked around to set my bag on the opposite counter, upon which the manager, Susan, was leaning. She promptly told me that "this register is not open" and then proceeded to tell me that it was too late to get the discount after the transaction had already been made. I must have had a blank look of disbelief on my face at her LACK of customer care (what DG calls it). Before I could open my mouth she then says, "I would have to void the transaction and re-ring the item in order to give you the discount." I found my voice and laughed while saying, "Well 55 cent is 55 cent and I want my 55 cent!" This "manager" at this point gives me an unpleasant look, turns to the young cashier's register, takes out 55 cent and hands it over to me. I gave her a questioning look and her response was, "she is not going to get fired for coming up 55 cent short"... What I wish I would have said at the point was: "No, but you should be for what you just did!" Instead, I said nothing but "thank you" and walked out. I know a thing or two about customer service, I was a cashier at Piggly Wiggly during high school for 2.5 years, a waitress for about 5 and the library system for 4... Not sure about the rest of you but I believe that our small town Dollar General needs a manager that knows what it means to provide "customer service". Wish we had Sharon back!

the dollar general in Onalaska Texas is staffed by some of the biggest turds in Texas.First of all my wife was wrongfully accused of shoplifting by looking in her purse,she had a shirt in there that she had bought at another dollar general in a neighboring town.She was in there to get oil for her car. The piece of crap manager,Dorothy Webb saw the shirt and thought she stole it.She called the police who pulled my wife over a few blocks from the store.When she went to get the receipt to show the over amped porkers, they reacted as if she were trying to get a gun and promptly pulled her out of the vehicle and forced her to the ground with a knee in the back.They drove her and her car back to the store where the manager(Dorothy Webb)came out and proceeded to go through her car.After finding several items the manager claimed that they must all be stolen and my wife was taken to jail.The manager went through my wifes purse and magicaly the receipt from the other store disapered.After my wife called me to come bail her out,I called the manager(Dorothy Webb)and when she asked what she could do for me I said "Go f#ck youself for getting my wife thrown in jail for something she didn't do you f@cking b#tch!" she said "have a nice day." and hung up.15 minutes later I got a call from the Onalaska police department saying that they wanted me to come in to the station that they took threats of people threatening to kill somebody very seriously.Dorothy Webb, and an employee"Tanesha" or something like that had filed a false police report saying that I threatened to kill her.My wife's attorney got the receipt from the other Dollar General and my wifes case was dropped(after I paid $250 to get her out of jail and another $175 to get her truck out of impound). I called Dollar General and asked them repeatedly for a lie detector test for me and the piece of crap manager to prove my case and they did nothing except threaten to try and reopen the case against my wife.Ty Jones,one of their H.R. people was nothing but rude and uncooperative and defended her employee.I thought Dollar General would want to know that they had someone like this in their employ, but they do not care.I paid $1000. for a lawyer to fight my case,and when the city of Onalaska realized they had a fight on their hands, they dropped the case.I print this as a warning to anyone who shops a D.G. I dare corporate to follow through and bring their lying employees and me in for a lie detector test and fire these pieces of crap,and i will recant.
