I cannot even give it a one star it's more like a minus-1. All I can say is that Dollar General does not care who they hire. I was in the Granford NJ store and first of all it was a friday night, one of the @%*girls put the umbrella stand in front of the entrance, granted it was the start of memorial day weekend and oh yeah it was already 7:00pm oh thats right they close at 10:00pm. So another customer and myself had to go in the exit door, the idot girl did'nt move it until we got into the store. I said we thought you were closed, god only knows what she mumbled under her breath. I had a cart and had a hell of a time getting it in. The three girls in the store were the nastiest people ever. When I went to check out there were two items on the counter, I simply said those items are not mine, in a nasty tone she said I know I put them there, my reply was I did'nt know that, she replied in a very bigotted tone, thats why I am telling you. She mumbled something to the other nasty employee, it's one of those days I had a lot of customers like that. I guess because I am white and they were black, who are the bigots now. I guess you hire the nastiest people, I must tell you the store is in a very nice town. I bet it will not last to much longer, I will make sure I tell people that you do not care who you hire. After I left the store I figured out why she put the stand in front of the entrance, she figured people might think the store was closed, there was no reason why that was put there, trust me it was'nt because they were cleaning. It really galls me that there are thousands of unemployed people in our area and you had to scarape the bottom of the barrel to hire idots. I rather go and pay a few dollars more and get a pleasant person behind the counter. I would clean that store up. Because if one of them was the manager good luck. Never again in that dump

If i could rate 0 i would. It is ridiculous that dollar general wont take coupons for free items.

I am not employed by Dollar general but my mother is she has been working at the store for 3 years now, she has been having so much problems with both her store manager and her DM its like they dont like her, a whole lot of people that go into the store complain how lazy the store manager is and how shes always on brake they never see her working, they complain how rude her and most of the other employes, it is a small town so things are always heard good and bad, my mother is always stressed but she needs the job to sustain the household its dumb, i believe they are doing a sorry job ive sean everything first hand and i also believe that some one higher needs to keep an eye on people!

everytime i have visited the dg store on blackburn rd. in cleveland tn. i have asked to use the restroom.i have been told by the same lady that the restrooms are out of order.i told her she was lying that every time i have asked to use them she says they are out of order.i purposly asked just to see what she said same thing they dont work so my husband also asked,same answer out of order so we left. i did not buy anything.i will never go back to that dollar general.there is nothing wrong with the restrooms,they dont let anyone use them so they dont have to clean them....i guess she thinks i am stupid......

my daughter works for dollar general as a cashier. she has been there over a year now and has devoted alot of time to them and loves her job. but now all of the sudden they want to treat her like crap!!! they dont want to give a break when shes there all day yet someone is putting in the computer shes getting a 30 minute break. when shes there 7 or 8 hrs she asks a certain third key for a break and she puts her off and puts her off til its time for the girl to go home then the new manager that comes in on the next shift has to give my daughter a break. they say there just busy but its just funny how everytime i go by there everyone else is always sitting outside smoking and talking on the phone. maybe i should just contact the labor board.

As a customer at DG on Hualapai Mountain Road in Kingman I can only say I like that store. I've been in others and they are not nearly as neat as the HMR store. I guess there is a new manager there and I'm a bit concerned that it won't be mged as well. Keep up the one work.

My daughter & I just left Dollar General #08977 in Buckeye Lake, Ohio.A female employee was sitting outside on the phone in the chairs that are For Sale at the entrance eating an ice cream bar!!Upon entering the store, a man was already standing there waiting to pay for his things. And we joined the line with him still waiting!I took a picture of the employee in the chair outside when we left (because she was still on the phone, sitting eating her ice cream BY THE ENTRANCE knowing customers were inside!) and she started yelling at us.What class! Someone needs to clean this store UP! It is SO dirty inside I didn't want to lay my daughter's phone card down.We do NOT plan on shopping there EVER again!The other girl working was chatting in the back with guys ALSO eating an ice cream bar!We had to wait while she ate the last bite of her ice cream to get my change back once she came up to the register!I hope someone there contacts me because this is NO way to run a business!A shame to the community.

The store in Irving,TX on Rochelle used to be so clean and well stocked it has a new manager I dont know what happened to the old one but they need to bring her back so she can clean it up there were 2 other girls that are not here either they were always working so hard I think they even stocked overnight to keep the store great the new guy is probably going to have a heart attack with all the freight in that stockroom something the old manager always took care of I am happy they got transferred the one called Martha she always just complained about the old manager only cuz she couldn't keep up with someone that new how to work

You folks are the greatest. I D.J. a variety show here in Florida, north of Tampa. I ask trivia questions and give out stuffed animals and a variety of prizes that I get from your stores. It is so much fun. I would like to praise the girls at the Dollar General in Homosassa, Fl., they are always so helpful and courteous. I realize that you stock your stores according to holidays, but if I may ask, I need the monkeys with velcro on the inside of their hands. Small, large, they went over so well. I will buy a whole case., thank you.

I would like to praise Sissy Horner, manager of the Oil City, Pa. Dollar General Store. Just as the girls here in Homosassa, Fl. store keep me supplied with things to give out for my variety show. Last month, I went to Oil City, Pa., to do a show at a bar that I started at 30 yrs. ago. I contacted Sissy about 2-3 weeks prior and told her I wanted about 60 hawaiian leis. When I arrived at her store she had those and other items for me to give out for prizes. The show was great, everyone had a great time and I thank you very much for helping me put a smile on everyones face. I still continue and will always shop at your store. I'm back in Florida and going shopping at your store Monday for my show Tuesday. I would like a case of your monkeys that got the velcro on the inside of their hands, small and large. Thank you, having a blast. You folks are the greatest.

Dollar General #00684 in Washington,MS had become a nice store for a minute, until the new Store Manager left in May. I feel that store has been through 3 or 4 store managers not because of the store. They have a few females that has been there for awhile and has run off all the managers because they don't want to work and firing them, you have to go through the death penalty. These few females need to be investigated because I have seen them distributing merchandise out the backdoor near the dumpster. The tall female with long hair is still a sweetheart but those other ones are worthless. The recent store Manager need to come back because the store was a wonderful place to shop. Watch your tapes get rid of the trouble because I want be shopping there anymore.

I was at Dollar General today with 2 coupons for the Glade Scented Oil Warmers. They were 1.25 and my coupons were for 1.25. Easy right? Wrong. Apparently we are supposed to buy what's on the picture of the coupon, not what it says on the coupon. The coupon stated, 1.25 off ANY Glade Scented Oil Warmer. The product box has only a few words on it, which happen to be Glade Scented Oil Warmer. The cashier said, "I'll let you use these even though I'm not supposed to". I was appreciative that I could still get the warmers however, I don't need a shady deal on a legitimate purchase. I spend time examining each coupon to ensure that the expiration isn't expired, that the product is what it states, and that the store coupon policy is being met. This effort is for a smooth transaction for both the cashier and myself. I just wish, the cashiers would extend the same courtesy of putting in an effort to learn how coupons are used. Especially since they deal with them on a daily basis.

I shop often at the Dollar General Stores in Northwest Arkansas. The staff is always friendly, some more than outhers, but no one is rude. I would like to see them stock a little fresh fruit and veggies. The one thing i do find offensive is the constant request for donation of food or "your change". At first i didn't mind i thought it was like a 1 week project for literacy, now they ask everytime i go in, for one cause or another, and i almost feel guilty for saying no.

I have been trying to obtain a copy of my termination letter since november of 2011. I still haven't gotten it, I was fired for the wrong reason, thinking about sueing this dam company for my job, lost wages, and emotional distress.

If it could be NO star that is how I would rate the HOLDEN STORE in Missouri.

I was very disappointed at the Dollar Genral Stores here in MT Washington , KY. I shop there all the time and I didnt have a receipt to return merchandise and was told I could not get a refund. I went to the other Dollar General that is also located in Mt Washington and had a very snotty cashier. When I requested the manager, she told me she was the manager. I explained to her I have done this before andshe said you wont in this store we don't do that anymore exchange or refund with a receipt. Iasked her once again to explain to me and she rolled her eyes at me and I found that to be very disrespectful. I can say I was truly upset by it all and I might change my mind about shopping there.

I have been reading the complaints concerning many other DG stores and yes we have a few in our area as well. Nasty stores and nasty customer service. I can see why DG has a high turn over rate! The Windhurst/Kingsway store in Brandon, Fl is one of the best stores my family shops at. We are so lucky to have a clean/organized store, with a professional, welcoming staff. Store Manager Mrs. Kathy is very professional with her staff as well as with all customers. You can see the "PRIDE her staff" has in the store. So yes, I'm giving a "SHOUT OUT" to this store and staff! They deserve a positive comment and much more!

Sandersville, MS store is AWFUL!! Rude cashier's that can't speak.. Can't seem to answer questions about anything in the store. And a Manager that seems to be ok with employee theft, so she must steal too. I choose to avoid the store and drive 30 minutes to get anything I need. Such rude, dishonest people.

a very tuff co. to work for . they only give the store so many hrs to keep employees working, the store clean, so there is never enough employees working for the high traffic . and managers feel they dont have to follow the rules to ,and to train the new employees they need to upgrde the hrs. also, hire people that want to work . not just someone to collect a paycheck.. what ever had happened to customer service, a clean store and team work and or with happy people.. it is called custome service

Dollar General would not take my coupons they are giving me a hard time saying that they only take scanable ones and if it dont scan they wont take it because now they cant key them in anymore, I said its not my fault that you guys have old registers! They wouldnt take the stayfree manf Q's and the byg1 lady speed sitck ones either!!! I called and its been over a week and I still havnt heard from the DM >:/ , I dont think Nivea, stayfree, and lady speedstick would be happy to know that I cant use their coupons at Dollar General. IM SO FUSTRATED after all you are making money off of my coupons, .08 cents a coupon! these are manufacturer coupons they are not printable ones they come straight out of the paper!~
