I cannot understand why your store even bothers to have yellow plastic bags. I enjoy shopping at Dollar General for the choices and selection and convenience...but this past week I am so disgusted with the cashier who "thought" she was going to bag with these ridiculously see through THIN bags, if you can call them bags....3 ketchup bottles and 3 glass salsa jars. Amongst other items crammed. The bags were splitting while she was bagging. I asked to please double bag and take out half of these items in double bags. I was met with disgust. I eneded up in my vehicle with items falling on the floor board. Completely disgusted. Question is...where are you saving money by purchasing these flimsy bags that are only good for a loaf of bread or just one item. Please purchase heavy gauge bags.

9/16/ 2012 2:20pm I shop at Dollar Generalin Florissant Mo on McDonell Blvd all the time, but the one problem I have with the store is that there are never enough people to work the register. I had two items, there were three Employees behind the register (for some reason) the other register was free and the line of customers waiting to be run-up was all the way to the back of the store! This happens a lot at most of the stores here in St. Louis Mo...WHAT IS THE PROBLEM? Why isn't there ever enough people working the register? People are always applying for jobs there and yet the same slow people work there. Instead of hiring people to work multiple jobs like the cash register and stock the stock the store...you should hire people to just work the register only and then people to just stock the store only. I'm sure there are plenty of people that would love to work just a few hours per day and week to stock the store. You're going to lose money if things don't change. Also...here's a compliment on at least one of your employees at this store. A young lady named Samantha is the only one that handles her customers in a timely manner. I have visited the store when she's there and I'm never in line for long. She's quick and friendly and does a GREAT JOB...you need more employees like her. The store in wadley ga workers is not nice the manger family stay in the store and they ring there family up and the other manger know that now the police don't need to be in the store when it is time to close

what ever happend to customer service, one of the managers at the general dollar in Holly pond AL. thinks it is an imposition when customer asks for help, she is rude,crude and very obnoxious: we've had several encounters with her it's time the company does something about this situation. I for one and my Family will not do any more shopping there and will tell everyone we know not to as well

Overall I have been very pleased with the Dollar General Store in my area, but in this case they have advertised Ibuprofen on sale the whole month of September. I have been in and asked about it 3 different times and they said they didn't get any and they don't give rain checks. This is not this branch's fault, this is whoever ships this to them. The cashier was very nice and she told me she didn't know why they hadn't gotten any. This store is in Burnsville, North Carolina. Just a thought: If you are going to advertise this item as being on sale, SHIP IT TO THEM. This is the only one that is close to me or I would have tried some of the other stores.

I went to dollar general tonight to purchase items for my handicapped Mother and Grandmother at 8:37pm, this store closes at 9pm. Two minutes after I walked in they turned off the music and five min. later told me we are closing at 9! I told her I know what time you close I can see the sign on the window! 5min. more they tell me "Mam we are closing in ten minutes", then a little while later they say they are closing in 2 minutes bring my selections to the front, not please bring your selections! So I'm looking for something on the way to the register and she says we are closed are registers shut down at 9pm. I said I was having trouble finding something and that I realize its Friday night, I have to be to work in and hour and don't usually shop here, I shop at state rd, cf, which by the way they are sooooo nice there. So she turns to her other worker and tells her I am arguing with her!! So I say,"You know what keep this crap, you guys have been pushing me out of here since I walked in and you both are so rude", just give me your names and corporates number and I will leave! She said she didn't want written up and I could ring out my stuff and I said no give me the number and they said I will call my manager and you can talk to her, so they handed me the phone and I told her what happened and she said she didn't know corp.# so she said the other girl would give it to me so I did call and complain. Now I have to go shopping AGAIN tomorrow at another store, they were rude and inconvenienced me, they look like a couple scrubby, trashy, no make-up wearing dirty looking females(to be nice about it)! Who the heck hires these people, don't any of them have an education! I can't believe how rude they were and I have a lot of responsibilities, my husband is out of the country and I am taking care of my house and my mothers and working 3 part-time jobs, I don't have time for this CRAP from your employees!!

The only complaint that I have is the store manager in New Martinsville, WV. She is on her cell phone all the time and she always has this big and vulgar male in there with her everyday. They are always hanging on and hitting each other, plus he is always hanging on the other employees, you can tell they do not like it. I have been in there when the store manager and this man were fighting in the store the words that they were using were very vulgar. I have never seen her do any thing, the other girls are always working and friendly but she is rude. I will not go back in there as long as they are in the store and I have also talked to the people of my church and my family. They also feel the same way.

I am a local citizen in New Martinsville, WV. I shop at the Dollar General store, located at the north end of town. I will no longer shop there until these problems are fixed. Why? The store manager. I have seen this woman do very little in the store. Every time I went into this store, she would be "working" on the floor while talking on her cellular device, while no other employee has been seen with their's. Also, on a daily basis, the store manager has a tall, aggressive, and vulgar man in the store. They are yelling at each other, using a plethora of a vulgar vocabulary. This man has also, cursed at other employees in front of customers. You can strictly tell that he makes other employees feel very uncomfortable when he is present in the store. I feel that one day he may burst out in anger, and hurt somebody. Thank You.

I would like to speak about an serious issue concerning an employee working at the South Main Street., Perry, NY 14530 location. I have already spoken to the General Manager of the location and so have quite a few other concerned people concerning an employee that has recently been hired from our community. I shop at the dollar general in albion nebraska. I really do not want tpo go out of town and do myshopping but I will if this does not get resolved. Every time I go in to dollar general I see that nothing is ever restocked for the entire week, even if it runs out.nothing ever gets pushed to the front of the shelves for people to reach either. Their is no employees around to help get things off the shelf so I have to literally climb up the shelf to get what I need. When I am standing at the cash register the lady will see me but continue to do their work as if I was just walking by which I was not. The manager of this store is very rude also. I think this should be brought to attention.. and I also think that this should be rated about negative 5 instead of even a one.

My mother is 74 years old and shops at the Dollar General in Hoschton, GA several times a week. Last week she went in and bought several items including a box of Honey Graham crackers that were reduced in price. She paid for everything and when she got to her vehicle discovered the cashier had charged her full price instead of the reduced price on the box. When she went back in with her receipt and the item, the cashier was rude and told her "I didn't charge you full price the cash register did" instead of doing the proper thing and saying she was sorry for the mistake and fixing it. After this she calls the manager who procedes to be rude to my mother about buying reduced price items. She made several comments to the cashier about my mother as if she could not hear or would not understand what was being said. My mother left that store with no intention of setting foot in there again. I know that I have always been treated with respect at the Dollar Stores I frequent, but you obviously have a Customer Service problem at this store and it should be fixed as quickly as possible. I understand that this is not the first time there has been a problem with this store and manager (who was supposedly brought in to "fix" this store. I heartedly suggest you do some serious Customer Service training with your managers and cashiers and do it soon. Do these people not realize that without the customer they have no job? Reinforce this message or get rid of these employees who have the wrong attitude before the store is closed due to lack of customers. By the way, my mother did not want to say anything because she is a nice person, but I do realize that you cannot fix a problem if do not know about it. So you have been informed of the problem.

Poor is not a low enough rating for Dollar General here in Benwood, W.Va. AWFUL would be more appropriate. The cashiers are rude and obnoxious, but the manager (or so she claims she is) is even more so. There is very little savings on most items, and it's not worth dealing with these kind of people. The store has only been there a short time, and if they continue to be disrespectful of customers, I doubt they will last long. Personally, I will never buy anything there again, and I will discourage others from supporting such a bad eye-sore imposed on our town.

The manager at the market square store in Lafayette, Indiana is a drunk. I have also witnessed him carrying the bank deposit out snd getting into his vehickle with someonr else in the car. Major security breech. Yet he still gets to keep his job. How does that work. He also treats his workers like crap. Expecting them to do his job.

I am very concern of how a manger of Dollar General of Ocilla Ga could kee his job for so long!!!!When he have done stoll from the company plenty of time and seem to alwasy put the blame on some one else.I also know for a fact he have taken money from the safe and put it back when he get paid even when his asst or key holder let him know that money is missing he say it will show back uou can also see he never !!!!If you look at the tapes you see half the time his key holder hold the store while he get all the credit!!!!!!And it not right for him to cast of why some got termanateed from the job he tell every one that against privacy act!!!!he also hire two friends and number of people have put in for the job but just because his lover tell him to hire someone he do it cause they are freinds with him and also work with his boyfriend!!!That not fair and how come his boyfriend can be in the office with him when he also was fired from Dollar General of Tifton Ga,while you checking on other people who you think doing wrong you need to looking at the person that quiet to say i been here 11 years and know what to do,how many people done lost there job cause of him maken sure they loose it!!!When he won't some one else to be there he do every thing he can to get them out and watch he make the other girls that only been 3 weeks and two month a key holder!!!!You see he made his boyfriend nephew a keyholder and he was on drug know you going see him maken his boyfreind friends one cause one of the girls work with his boyfriend at subway KNOW YOU'LL DO THE MATH!!!!Go look at the tapes on him it will tell it all how long he there when he leave and when he suppose to be there and don't!e have been many.Stop telling him when you are coming and maybe one time in your life you really see who need to be look at,I know for a fact he done took money out of draw to make it look like she took it just because he didn't like her!!!and Dwanna know who she is.I won't to see how much longer you'll going to let him get away it.

I shop at your store at 1717 N Dort Hwy Flint, Michigan. I shop 3 - 5 times weekly. After my experience today, I don't feel I will ever shop at Dollar General again. I shop not only for myself but also the company I work for. Two day ago I told the cashier that the diet soda I planned on purchasing was expired. She said she had nothing to do with that and I would have to go somewhere else to find unexpired soda. The pepsi driver was pulling into the lot, so she said go tell the driver. I don't feel that was my place as a paying customer. Today I stopped into the store to purchase soda again and the shelf had been stocked with expired soda. Expired September 3rd. Once again I told the cashier and was ask by the young man "What do you want me to do about it?" I told him I didn't appreciate his response, and he said "Oh Well". What kind of customer service training does your employees receive? When I spend my hard earn money, I expect better service. This store has been going down for awhile, but this may be my last straw, There IS other doller store in the area.

Was in the store in Immokalee Florida today, wow what a great place to shop, I had a problem and the Manager, I believe they called him Tim, stopped what he was doing and help me out and even suggested a better product that cost less, I will continue to shop this store. Thanks guys

I was so happy when a friend told me about this site since my complaints at the store in question always falls on deaf ears, I live in Labelle Fl. and use to shop the Dollar General there until recently. I was at the store and having a problem finding some items, I ask the store manager who was empty some boxes on the floor and she told me where to look, I went and looked but didn't find the product so I went back and ask her if she might show me, after alot of mumbling under her breath she walked over to the product and said its right there in a nasty tone and walked off, where I use to work the customer was the top objective since they buy the products that pay the employees wages, I guess this store doesn't see it that way.
