I stopped at a merritt island florida dollar general market today for some of the beach towels that was on clearance.My wife and i had visited two others stores in the area two days ago and purchased the same items.The store had two remaining but no price or UPC tag. The manager on duty (Earnie or starting with a E)was very rude and trying to over charge me for the items. I told him to call the two stores in the area that i purchased the items to find the correct price and he claim to call a store 200 miles away that did not give him the correct UPC or lied about the info and still tried to over charge me for the same item that the other two stores did not. He was very rude and shold be removed as a manager. No customer service at all.I do not trust that store, and stores like that should close. I was not looking for a hand out but service. This store mgr is 0 star which is below poor.

I go to the Fremont, NC store because it is closer to my home. ots not that there no friendly but all but one lady seems to be skilled in Customer service i have waited at the register while the older lady sat down behind the counter working on some merchandise for about 4 minutes till the next customer said something. My biggest petpieve is that every time i go in and I cant get down the aisles due to tons of carts and boxes!!!! NOt only that but NO ONE cares to move they just keep working! I wouldnt hire any of them and some one needs to teach them customer service there is also a way to stock shelves and still be shoppable. I work in a major Home Improvement store and I would never....ever....allow such behavior. It doesnt matter how big the store is, Your reputation is being trashed and your employees dont care they have the mentality that their small and no one will do anything to change their behavior.
also their are is another store in pikeville that has the same mentality. and Ive gone there and the cashier looked like she rolled out of bed and then clocked in apperance dose matter you dont have to look like a model but presentable you do!!!! and helping customers is their job so clean up the mess clear the aisles and act like you care about your job! I wonder why so many of your stores are like that ...maby you should look at your management team. I know i would NEVER let that happen on my watch!!!
i was just in your store 415w trinty ln the service is always poor,from employees not knowing were things are to not caring what there is in your store.i know it wount make a big differents but i will take my money an my business 2doors down to the family dollar.this is not my first time with issues in this store but it will be my last
I went to Dollar General on Sunday September 23 to get laundry soap.I didn't have a lot of money so I was looking at what was cheap. They had a big box of Pyrex power priced at $3.50. I thought that's a good deal, however when I got to the register it showed $4. I let the cashier know I was really nice and told her I wasn't worried another the 50ยข just wanted them to know that their tag was wrong. She got what I believe to be the store manger and told her she went to look and was very ugly to me telling me that what I bought and what the tag said weren't the same thing. I asked were the was the soap for $3.50 and she said we don't have or anymore. She got ugly with me and said do you still want it. I wasn't trying to be ugly to them but when your the one that placed an item on the shelve wrong your at fault. And you need to make it right, I wasn't asking for my money back just letting them know. But because I was treated this way I won't be back to shop with them.
Hello, I have nothing bad to say about your store except about coupons. You give us a coupon for $5.00 off but we can only use it on Saturday. I would rather have the same coupon but give us a week to use it. I thought I had a coupon like that and she(the clerk) told me no it was for one day only God was I mad. Please let me have a week to use a coupon like that.. Then I will be a really happy customer....
I have just returned from my local Dollar General which I frequent often. As I walked in with my ten year old daughter I was asked to put my "book bag" on the counter. I said to the clerk with a little laugh "Oh this is my purse" (its just a satchel type). She said no it is to big I need you to leave it up here. I did not expect that response for two reasonable reasons 1. This is my personal property 2. How do I know if the clerk or another patron isn't going through my purse. I am a very passive person and I have never been the whistle blower type but I am livid about this. I have seven children and I shop very often at dollar general in order to save money,but I will be damned if I have to hand over my bag every time I shop here. This is inconvenient for me due to the fact I had to grab out my wallet and my cell phone and my car keys and hold them throughout the store while I finished shopping ! Then to my disbelief as I approached the register to check out I see that my bag was still sitting on the other end of the register with her back turned away from it SHE NEVER EVEN MOVED IT TO A SAFER LOCATION ! My daughter went and grabbed my bag immediately knowing she had her cell phone in there and her money as well. Even my daughter was a little shocked that we went through all this. The clerk was not rude by any means I would not want to get her in any trouble but I firmly believe this is not a comfortable or respectful way to treat regular customers.me the customer should not have to be treated like a possible shoplifter because I have a large purse it make us honest shoppers not want to return back. I want to complaint about the employees at the Perry GA store on Main Street. The employees there are just downright rude. After waiting for the cashier to come and check me out (she was helping a friend who came in after me) when she did get to the register her friend who got behind me wanted something else. So instead of her waiting her turn, the cashier had already rang up my items but just walked away to go help her friend find the item. I was literally standing there holding my money out. She was not the only employee in the store either because as I walked up to the register and nobody was there another employee had to call her up there. The people are just plain rude. Needless to say I didn't wait. I left my items sitting there and walked out the door. I will go twice as far and pay twice as much before I will give that store my business again. Thanks!
i went to the dollar general on charter way in stockton ca. during their grand opening. the store was ok not great,but employees were nice. they asked if i found everything i needed and said thank you for shopping with us. have a good day. i went there again a week later and the employees were the same nice. i got a,good to see you again. the only complaint i have is most of their products come from foreign countries like afghandistand,china,japan ect. and their meat department is awful, pi t ful just bad. when i asked if they could get a certain product she wrote the name of the product down and said she would put it in the box that they check everyday and she did.
Overall I love dollar general plenty of choices good prices I would to express my concern 4 yur store4443 canerun rd lou ky the female mgr there is rude hateful an not tactful with yur customers I shop there on a regular basis daily wespend at3oo to 5oo $monthly yesterday 9/21/12 I was shopp ing an elderly lady had 4maybe5 6pacs of soda the store mgr rudely told her you are not taking the cart out of the store then escortd her to her car then informed employes on duty that customers could take carts out of the store they have to call to the back have someone come up front what happens if they r short staffed lock register escort customer to car an make other customers wait one at a time I buy baketsful of products 150.oo a month on ph cards there alone I understand theft is on the rise shopplifting hurt prices this is about customer satifaction removing the full use of carts having cars pull up to doors customers having to wait longer rude mgrs r not a making of happy customers I left the store spent 140.oo at fam dollar eldrly having to carry there stuff out to there cars aren't they treatd bad enough already not good PR bad business work this out will lose $on this
I shop at the Herington, Kansas Dollar General on a regular basis (almost daily) and usually don't have problems with them, but I have been noticing they like to close a few minutes early since their closing hours have been extended to 10pm. Gas is high and I live in a rural area. For me to make a trip to Herington I spend around $10.00 in gas just to get there. Tonight I arrived at 9:55 for something I needed the next day before they opened. Yes, I should of went early but forgot. The asst manager inside saw my headlights and ran over to the door and locked the doors and took off before she could face me. I knocked on the glass and the cashier made hand gesters and pointing at the manager and no one would unlock the door. I even held my phone up to represent the time and no one would let me in. Then another customer came up to the doors too! We both walked away empty handed and upset. You would think they would want the sales, especially from regular customers. Sorry, but if the sign says 10pm then to me that means 10pm.
I live near the store in Gadsden, AL on meighan Blvd. The cashiers that work there are always nasty an the manager is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!! The items you buy always ring up wrong and then they refuse to fix it. Also, they left something out of my bag and refused to replace it!! I am completely done with those incompetent people. They have no business being in customer service. As many people that need work and they treat customers like that. Dollar General needs to screen their employees better and have better customer service policies in place. NEVER getting my business again!!!!! Learn how to run a business!
My husband and i just returned home from our worst visit at any of the dollar generals in our area. Store #10869 in east liverpool ohio has by far the WORST employees ever. Not only were they rude but the foul language coming out of thier mouths was almost offensive. My husband was pulling a garbage can that had wheels on it through the store and the looks he got from one of the girls working there was so bad, like he was in her way. This same employee was using the "F" word as she was walking through the unorganized chaos of this store. I will never go back! And i will also be making a phone call to the district manager on Monday.
In your store on Rhodes Avenue in New Boston, OH today Sept. 22, 2012, my daughter and 12 year old grand daughter were shopping for a baby shower. My grand daughter is Type 1 diabetic which means she is insulin dependant. One of your male employees approached her in the front of the store and told her to hand over the fake fingernails. She told him she did not have any that she had put them back. He said she was lying and that he could see them under her shirt. She lifted her shirt and showedhim that was her insulin pump which is her lifeline. He simply said, "Sorry". His name appears to be Curtis or Cory which are the only 2 male employees working at that time. He was nasty-dirty looking. I realize that the employes you hire are not the brightest bulbs in the room but surely they are the slightest bit trainable. This employee has caused irrepairable psychological harm to this child.
I was at the Story City, IA store today. I was planning to buy cleaning stuff and maybe some other stuff but when I tried, I could not get to anything. They had stacks of stuff that needed put out infront of everything in every aisle. There was not a single aisle I went down that did not have huge carts of either products or trash piled up that could not be moved. So I went up to the front to ask one of the employees to move some of them so I could get what I had came for, she said sure but it was obvious she was not happy about it. When we got to the back of the store she asked me, very rudely, why I needed the stuff to be moved and why I couldn't just buy something else. Then she asked me what I needed from over there and I said a Swiffer Sweeper, she then tried to get me to buy a Swiffer Duster because it didn't require her to move anything. I cannot mop with a duster! I am very disappointed and needless to say I walked out with the $30 I was planning on spending and I will not be going back again. I will take the 10 mile drive to Ames where I can get what I want, not have to manuever through piles of crap, and be treated like I matter not that I'm an inconvience.
Your Northumberland, PA store sucks ~ mainly the district manager Josh~ fires people who have have devoted alot of time and hard work ~ is a single parent and 2 children to support. I say your company is the pits and I will say it to anyone! I know the stuggle of this particular employee since she is my daughter. She struggles with Bi Polar and I call this a discrimination issue. I am not happy and your company should be terminated!
My husband and I stopped at the Dollar general store in Ashland, MS. We had about $47.00 worth of merchandise in our baskit. Once we got up to the register to check out, we had to wait it seems forever for the clerk to return from outside chatting with friends, though she knew we were standing there, it made no difference. Once she returned to the register, her attitude was simple rude. Her name was Christie, and she made us feel very uncomfortable. During our checkout she then went back to the door to talk more with her friends and left my husband and I just standing there. Her attitude was so rude towards us and she made us feel like we shouldn't have stopped there in the first place. Finally we got tired of waiting on her return, and just left the items in the baskit and walked out the door. She then remained to say if you're not going to purchase the items, you need to put them back on the shelf. I have never experienced such a rude and unexpectedly attitude like this from a store clerk. I will NEVER return to that store again. She was very impolite and rude. She has no business working in that kind of enviroment with such an attitude to her customers. Therefore I have no business ever returning to that store again.
