Terribly rude employees

My mom went into the dollar general store near our house in Elmira ny and the cashier was extremely rude. An item rang up at one price and there was a sale sign on the shelf by the item. When my mom said that the price was wrong the cashier argued and was extremely rude and said that my mom had to pay whatever price the computer says. When my mom said there is a sale sign on the shelf for this item she sill argued and told my mom that she would do it this time but the next time my mom will pay the price the computer says. She said it with an terrible attitude and kept telling my mom she was wrong and a liar. That is absolutely inextricable. I have worked in retail and other stores and I have never seen or heard of someone so rude. I can tell you that my mom nor I will be going into that store ever again.

FILTHY STORE

1201 Lincoln Ave Lockport, NY 14094 The Dollar general store at the corner of Davison Rd & Lincolin is the dirtiest Dollar General we've ever been in! It is a disgrace to the Lincolin Square Mall!! Do not contact us! Just clean up your store!!! Every time we walk in there we want to throw up, the floors are always filthy and the front doors don't work, they swing back and hit you! There is never enough help at the registers ! This store is an upscale neighborhood, but it's a disgrace !! What kind of place are you running???

Terrible Customer Service

I often visit the Dollar General located at 4710 Hicone Road Greensboro, NC 27405 (336) 375-8467 and today January 3, 2013 around 7:30pm, was one of those days. While in the store as usual a lady I believe by the name of Tonya was working, and as usual she was very rude, impolite and never cracks a smile. Customer service is NOT her field . I'm sick of her attitude and so are several other customers who have encountered this woman. Also while working I have witnessed this lady outside smoking, while customers where waiting to check out. This is the start, I plan on taking this to corporate. I'm sick of her acting as if she hates the world and most of all her job! This has got to come to a end!! When she is working I rate the customer service a negative one, with ten being the highest score!! Just in case I got her name incorrect, she is a tall , slender lady, tonight she and one other lady were working.

Dollar general Nichols ny

The customer service is good, however I feel the store is in need of an update. Ceilings leak etc. this store has been without heat since before Christmas, so if you go in there to shop you freeze, not to mention the poor employees who are there, they have no choice they have to work in those conditions!! store not opening on time

On Monday December 31, 2012, Your dollar general store in Hancock, MD was not open at 8am. This is the fourth time this has happened at this store, the managers or store managers are always late. I hope the district manager or your corporate office takes care this matter.aO3n On 12-31-13 your store in Hancock, MD didn't open till around 9amU because your Store Manager was late. I went to family dollar to my shopping.

they are all rude except this red head .she is very nice and polite and helpful .and i think she is new i hope they keep her they need nice people there.they need a different sytem,the cashiers are never up front to check out ,and they are always yelling across the store y? theres sticker all over the frontdoors bathrms smells .i always see the new girl cleaning the bathrms when i shop there and they are very clean and smell better! they need to move out w/the old and bring in more people like that new girl!

I would really like to know why a brad new store, in cisco tx allows Aa register sec offender to loiter for hours on end at the front counter while parents bring their children in? Oh I know why his sister is the manager. Also why do the employees at this same store think that the sidewalk by the front door is their personal ashtray. I walked out of the cisco store just a few days ago to the smell of ashtray hitting me in the face. Disgusting!!!!!!!!!! Upper management needs to something about the loitering sec offender and the cigarette Burt's all over the sidewalk of a brand new store

I am writing a complaint about a store in Chicago located at 2100 West 79 Street. Today I visited the store and while entering I heard a lady speaking loudly with a person later identified as the manager on duty. This was the day shilft around 11:00 am. All i heard was a disagreement about a prices. I just moved on to continue shopping. I came to the store to pick up cleaning supplies, when I turned in a partiuclar Isle, I saw a sign the read : Clearance" the sign was a loud orange color. So I went to investigate, The sign clearly stated items listed as 1.00 was not .10 and it continued to list other prices and on the same line it listed the Clearance discount." So I called a store employee to ask if the sign was accurate, He looked a the sign and yes. I told him I did not want to go all the way to the check out and find it was not on clearance. He assured me it was accurante. So I decided to take one of the items along with my cleanin g supplies to the check out. I asked the cashier if the item I presented was a clearance item as it was marked. He said no. I asked to see the mnager. She came and asked me if i had read the sign. I assured her I had and the sign was misleading and in store false advertising. The manager let me know the sign stated, in handwriting the items that was on clearance. Something was written on the clearance sign in small writing about two items that was not even on the shelf. I asked her again, to check to see why the sign stated wrong information. She tried to tell me to come back and she would show me. i told her no as my legs hurt after two knee replacements and i clearly read the false sign. First, I am college educated with a master degree and can read. Second, I was a manager of Kmart for five years before it became KMart. This manager was so wrong. What she had done was to be lazy. Instead of making a clearance sign specific to the items, she had hand written them on the orange clearance sign.she needs reprimanding and stop false advertising. i AM OFFENDED.

Poor Management

I recently visited the Dollar General store in Mobile, Al on Schillingers at Zeigler Blvd. It was a very unpleasant experience I normally go to one closer to my house but this particular Day this store was on my way home. I pick up what I need Make my way to the ceckout when I see that the line is very long The women checking out was on her cell phone at first and Finally decides to get off and do her job. By this point people where really getting aggregated and she starts apologizing to everyone asking for our patience. Stating that she is the manger and she has help in the back. Then after checking out a customer she leaves the register and goes to the back for help. I was thinking ok now we are getting somewhere this line will be moving quickly now. Then she just walks off to the back of the store and never returned to help. Good customer service starts with how you treat your customers appearance and working as a team. If this women is the type of mamager you want working these stores you won't be open long.

Cashier

The new Dollar General in my area has had many rumors of poor service of it's employees. I had not experienced any of this until tonight. The cashier that checked me out started by telling me the item I had had to have a bar code on it or she couldn't ring it up. Well it wasn't my fault but I being the understanding person I am told her I would go back and find one with a code. Mind you I had 3 or 4 people waiting behind me. When I returned with the item she finished ringing me up. I asked her for the charcoal that usually sits right by the register and she said "we'll it is outside" I ask her the price and she said "I don't know they change the price all the time" so being that I had already made the people wait behind me(that really wasn't my fault because it is Dollar General's job to make sure items are priced). I went ahead and checked out and went outside in the rain and got my charcoal. I got back in line and watched this same cashier treat a older gentleman very disrespectful by gruffly telling him she did not have change for a $100 bill. The poor little man said "we'll I have to get this medicine for my wife because she is terribly sick" the cashiers reply was "well I still don't have change for the $100" this sweet husband didn't know what he would do until a nice customer said he had change. The customer paid the cashier and turned to tell the man that helped him out how much he appreciated what he did. Now while all this was taking place I could not believe that someone could have had such a bad day to treat their elder like this. So it makes me wonder does the upper management treat the employees so bad that they have to behave in this manner? By the way this store is on hwy 160 in Hayden Alabama 865 Thomas road store number12990 The cashier did not have a name tag on but she has glasses, long blonde hair and more than likely in her 50's. I have called corporate but they we closed. I will not let this die with just this review. I will take it further.

The Dollar General in Oak Harbor, Ohio is not plowed and we had 6" snow last night . They do not maintain the outside of building. The reason behind that is the company they hired to maintain the property does not want to pay in timely manner. Somone is going to fall and get hurt.

I love my dollar gen store on route 21 in Manchester NY. The staff is the VERY best, helpful, friendly,and they really know their merchandise. You should be VERY proud of these people

Store looks nasty and does not represent how good dollar general is. Wonderful cashiers. Friendly customer service but the stores look a hotmess.

unprofessional managers

The store in liberty Ms has the most rudest managers ever. They really don't know how to treat the customers data y I refuse to go back in the liberty store. This is so sad because liberty is such a small town with only a few stores and the nearest Walmart and other store r like 19 miles but if my family friends and I have to travel to get good customer service then so be it

Customer no more

I live in Wheeling, Wv. and had shopped at the Elm Terrace store. I will not step inside that store again in this life time. Over the past year five or more so called managers came and went. A multitude of employees have worked and quit because of the store managers and low pay. I view a company as a pyramid, strong leadership at the top and as you come down you need to have the right people in those positions to lead and help the others and to guide them toward the companies policies. This company has none of this. Pay your managers more and train them in skills they will need on the job. One skill needed is how to treat employees. What ever happen to the customer is always right, when there is a problem make it a win win situation not piss the customer off never to set foot in the store agian. This can go on for ever, the problems an outsider sees wrong with the company. You need to make people accountable and it all starts at the top.

Rude Manager

I went to the store today to get a few small thing for my house hold,and i was in a very good mood ,and low and behold ,i was met at the register by a very rude manager,although she was so rude to me ,i decided to pay for my things anyway ,when the manager whom was my cashier became so rude to me that she threw my change at my hand ,not one time did she stop to say i'm sorry ,Or try to pick up my change and place it into my hand as to show some form of respect ,CAN YOU SAY RUDE? I have been shopping at this one store for 10 years and has never felt so disrespected.This store is in my neighborhood and is convenit ,But now i will have to go all the way to Walmart across town,thanks TO MRS RUDE,OF DOLLAR GENERAL,,,,,DANG.

Rude Manager!!!!!

I shop at Dollar general pretty often, but this Dollar general I have only been in twice cause it is not on my side of town. I recieved a coupon from tide company due to a compaint about the product and I could redeem a 57 count of tide pods for free, so I went to target and they did not have a 57 count and this dollar general did. So I get to the register and the cashier calls the manager up to approve the coupon and, she was VERY rude from the beginning and stated that they get '' fake'' coupons in all the time and said they could not take it and I said do I look like i would give you fake coupon she was so rude and was not trying to scan the coupon at all......I will NEVER STEP FOOT IN ANOTHER DOLLAR GENERAL AND I WILL PASS IT ON TO EVERYONE I KNOW HOW RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL THEY ARE. THERE WILL BE SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT!!!!!!

Not Happy

I work in Elkhart and while on lunch a colleague and myself went to Dollar General on old US 20 to pick up some items for the Toys for Tots container. First of all the store is so crambed full of stuff in the isles that you can barely manuever the little carts they have. Then I watched as a young woman showed the manager that the detergent she had gotten off of the shelf was priced at $6.50, which she was quickly shown that the people at the store had made a mistake a placed the wrong laudry detergent in that spot, they were really $10.00. Well when I worked in merchandising if we made that kind of mistake the person bringing it to our attention would have gotten the price we placed on the tag, but not DG, the manager quickly moved all of the items to the correct shelf and proceeded to tell her if they were that price she would have bought them all. So I am now in the toy area looking for something that a child may want, and I find a precious princess stroller, and a baby doll. I was happy to see the stroller was on sale for $7.50 from $10.00 after all who doesn't like a bargain. Well I take my purchases up to the counter, and I will have to admit I did not pay attention to the items being rang up (make sure you do). When I got to the car my colleague said she thought the stroller was on sale, I said it was, and she pointed out to me that it was rang up at the original price. I proceeded to go back into the store to let them know when I had to wait for the manager to get up to the register. Then wait while the manager rang up some wine for a customer because the girl at the counter couldn't. Now I have already shown the girl at the counter the discrepency, but I guess the manager didn't believe her because now I am showing the manager. Did you notice at the beginning I had mentioned that this was my lunch hour? Once the manager reads it with her own eyes she informs me that I will need to go out to the car and bring the stroller in so they can give me a complete refund, and then resell it to me. Fine seems a bit much but okay. As I am headed to the door she tells me that I will also need to bring in my license so they can take down my information since th eitem is over $5.00. Are you kidding me, your mistake on pricing is my punishment!? I can only say that I did not take it back in, as I was on my lunch hour and did not have time to have someone take down all my info, and then refund my money so that I could make a purchase. It may have been for $2.50 but that money was worth the lesson I received. NEVER SHOP AT A DOLLAR GENERAL!!! and heck their prices were the same as a wal-mart, or K-mart. Heck there was a sweater that was $25.00 but if I bought 2 I got 1 free. I would rather shop at Kohl's or even Ross. People just because the are a Dollar General doesn't mean they are cheaper on anything, except for maybe the quality of their over priced items.

Unprofessional Manager

I went to the Dollar General store on the corner of E.Genesee & Cherry St. in Saginaw, MI. The associate greeted us as we entered and was very helpful. But there was a customer who let her ring up all of her items then proceeded to tell her she'll wait because she could use a coupon to save money the next day therefore the associate had to call the manager to void the sale but instead of him just voiding the sale he started getting snappy with her and telling her what she should have done so she proceeded to tell him that another manager told her not to do it that way but this manager went on and on and then the customer wanted them to save the items he agreed to save them but then turned around to the cashier and asked her "now where are you gonna keep these so that the morning crew will know?" My thing is it's not what you say it's how you say it. He could have easily waited and pulled her to the side and talked with her. He really had an ugly attitude the whole time we were in the store and without customers there will be no store!

Bad

I will never shop at dollar general. I have been a loyal customer for years and have never been treated the way i was today. An item was placed in the wrong place and i thought it was that price. As i checked out i noticed the item scan wrong. I brought it to the cashier attention and he rudely says to me our system is never wrong so do u want it or not. Than i went to the area were the item was and asked the lady for help. I proceed to explain to her what happen and before i could finish she tells me i need to look and read the signs because its nothing she can do about missed placed items.. i asked her if i could speak with a manager and she said yea one is up front somewhere .. if this is how your company trains its employees than it does not need my money.. this incident took place at the store located on 41 Garnett tulsa, ok time 6:50cdt day 11-26-2012
