While in the New store @ 6414 14th St W STE A, Bradenton,Florida I had a terrible experience there the Asst Manager (Lisa) was yelling at another employee in front of your customers. Then she goes into the office to call the Manager and was also yelling at her, mind you the door is closed and everybody could hear her. Now I would think that the manager would come to her store to see what is going on?

I was in a store in Illinois and brought back a lawn chair I had purchased just two days before. The store manager Helen said to me, Whats wrong with it? Why are you bringing it back? I replied, I Nothing I just found something I liked better. She then says, I don't have the numbers for this anymore (Because when I bought it there was no tag on it and she had to call to get them) I said well they should be on my receipt. Then she hands me my money and says, It sure looks like its been used. I said no it never left my trunk and she replies again well it sure looks like it to me. I told her I didn't appreciate her snotty remarks. What kind of CUSTOMER SERVICE is that?

Recently my friend, Brenda Wade, was fired at Rutherford, TN's Dollar General store for not making some illusive quota DG's corporate office requires per shopping cart. A cashier cannot make people buy more merchandise, but of all people, Mama Wade serves folks kindly with all her heart and soul. Please re-evaluate your employment strategies, Dollar General; she should not have been fired (for your ignorance and greed). I understand that once a cashier tops out in pay, he/she is fired by the Dollar General Corporate office. That's a class action lawsuit waiting to happen!

It was enjoyable working here as a teenager, but when you become an adult it is ridiculous. Due to restrictions on hours employees do not ever become full time unless you are a manager, so you are not able to get any benefits such as insurance or vacations. The fact that you have usually 2 maybe 3 at the most people unloading trucks of 500-2000 cases of items off a truck is unsafe especially since if someone gets hurt they have no insurance to depend on other then filing for work man's comp. It usually only leaves one cashier to take care of running the register which causes lines to get backed up and employees to get stressed out. I wouldn't work here unless your choices were here or a restaurant.

Well I been shopping at the dollar general since it first opened on hwy 64 east in tyler texas . I went in the other day and I was leaveing and I overheard the new store manager doug telling another guy outside smoking his cigarett that he was retired airforce and they were the real men well lord help me I was able to keep my mouth shut as he went on talking down the marines. Since I was a marine and served my country . I was very offended by this comment he had made. Every time I visit the store the man is either outside smokeing or sitting in the office I know the other previous managers usually were stocking or running register when I would come in. Does dollar general not check up on managers?

Store 293 Alexander, Ar. 72002 has no AC working inside the building. The can't stay open the entire day because the heat in the mid 90's that feels like 110 outside let alone inside. Someone is going to have a heat stroke if y'all don't get this fixed soon.

I visited store #07486 in Florence, SC and it is ridiculous how hot it is in that store! After asking the cashier about the heat, he stated the air has been broken for 2 years now, management knows, and they stated the piece that is needed to fix the air would not matter anyway since the building is not insulated. What? So, that's the excuse! I also found out that one of your employees fainted because of the heat!!! Then, when I got home the product that I bought (yogurt covered pretzels) was melted! I know I see a new Dollar General stores pop up somewhere everyday seems like. So, why can't you guys have the air working in these stores. It was 90 degrees yesterday with a 100 degree heat index. This is not healthy for anyone involved. Just think if a customer passes out because of the heat and hit their head on something? Is it going to take a lawsuit for somebody to do something. I enjoy shopping at your stores but I will not be back, at least until the fall anyway.

This dollar general is in Peekskill NY and its a pretty decent one. The problem is THERE IS NO AIRCONDITIONER IN THE STORE THAT WORKS!!! Today it's about 90 degrees and humid but inside the store had to be 95, it's been like this for I-2 weeks now and last week it smelled like rotting food. The same exact thing happened last year and it took them over 3 weeks to fix it , the poor kids working in there look like they are about to drop dead. Literally. Who wants to shop in a store like this?? I bought 2 things and left!! YOU SHOULD N ADHAMED OF YOURSELVES DOLLAR GENERAL. A heat wave is coming next week help these workers before I call the news!!!!

On 7/12/2013 my mom and I had finished shopping and was being rung up. The cashier had rung 1 item twice. She told us and then she pushed a button for the manager to come up. She had to push it again about 3 minutes later. Still no manager. I went to get in the car and about 5 minutes later I saw the manager beside the store in the alley on the phone. I will never go to this store again!!! Stock is never put away. Employees stand around talking all the time. This store needs better managers. The manager on duty was Jackie. The store is in Noblesville, Indiana on south 10th street.

This is a relatively new store in our neighborhood I shopped there in the beginning I was tricked into thinking that we had a nice place to shop with nice prices, now less than a year later this store is poorly stocked, junky aisles, merchandise left in delivery racks for days, very few workers. Boy were we wrong!!!

After being a return daily customer to the 3209 east Thompson store in Indianapolis Indiana I will no longer returninto any dollar general store and I will erge any family friend or strangers to do the same. Came into my local store as I do everyday and fell over grey totes that was spread everywhere on the floo. Then after gathering everything I needed and headed to the register, all registers had closed signs up and items strung all over them. A line had formed at the last register and one cashier rang customers up as they reached over the pile of stuff in the way. While the other employee leaned on the wall on her cell phone. Not helping clean a place for people. Or opening her register. As it became my turn after four others I got to the register she rang everything up then said o sorry cash only. No sign on the door. No sign on counter. And cashier at no point let everyone standing in line holding merchandise of this. Was very upset set my stuff in a box to the side and walked out. Just before I got to door I was told to never come back. Trust me that won't be a problem.

Hi i am severly angered by on of your managers in the luverne mn stor. me and my girlfriend we walking around the store and she found some nail polish that she really liked, she was going to buy it and she tried it on (i know its frownd apon but she had every intention of buying it). One of your employees say her paint a nail and asked if she was going to buy it she said yes. After that encounter she ordered people to follow us around the store. My girlfriend was still in the store and i was heading to the car and she accuesed me off stealing (i work in retail and i know that accuasing is againt code) and she threatened to call the cops on me. After my girlfriend bought the nail polish the employee then said " you see those cameras they have your face forever if you ever try to come in here again you will be forced to leave immediately. So we left and she followed us out saying that we are to poor for anything and that we have to steal to get anything her herassment went on for 5 minutes about how we poor and useless and about how much better then us she is. So over all i am very dissapointed in this store i hope others arent like this

The Dollar General Store in Muenster, TX desperately needs attention. It is not clean. Floors need to be cleaned. Merchandise is scattered on the floor in many places, and not put on shelves properly. The store has been in this condition for the last four months. What is the problem? It seems as if a cleaning crew could be hired to clean the floors.

plattsmouth NE.... your store is so doggone warm i cannot shop there in the summer months when the temp is high. today in five minutes i was dripping with sweat. whew. miserable place. this is not the first summer like this either. you folks are so cheap to ask your employees and customers to work and shop in such miserable conditions. shame on you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The floors in your store on Portage St. in Kalamazoo MI look like they have not been cleaned properly in a very long time. When brought to attention of help their answer is they don't do floors

I normally don't write reviews but this morning I was in your store off of duck creek in garland tx. I wanted to buy two things and only had $100 bill with me. The first thing I heard was I don't have change for that. I told the cashier it was all I had she said it again. I had to ask her to ask the manager for change and his respinse was we don't have any.. seriously? You open your store with no change? I think that's a crock! I will just stary going to walmart where I don't have yo worry about paying with a large bill.

I have been a customer to the Frostburg Maryland store for as long as the store has been opened, but the past two summers have been absolutley misserable the air conditioning in this store is not working and hasnt been working for over a year, I think that if were going to go shopping you want to shop in comfort, not be more misserable hot than outside... I have made a complaint to the mgr. she don't want to cause issues with corp. so she dont say anything.

just found out one of our best cashers is leaveing he is Art at 9095 venice store we will realy realy miss him one of the most and best persons we love to go to that store just for the great smile when we walk into the store and the welcome he gives us / will miss him greatly THANK YOU

I have had a good experience, I just don't like how the employees are treated unfairly. I think they deserve a discount or better raises for their hard work. I don't work for them, but I know people who do. I would like to see an improvement for them:) Have a blessed day!

After spending over $30 on Saturday at store #11518, the register would NOT acknowledge the $5 coupon. There was a new girl running the register, with no help on a Sat. (coupon-day). She scanned it and punched the numbers but nothing happened. So I go back (during a week day) to talk to the manager. He tells me he can NOT give me a refund after I showed him my receipt. What is going on ? It's bad enough that I tried my hardest to spend $30 (when it used to be $25 a month ago) to get my $5 off.
