Well we eat at Cracker Barrel several times a month and have become very aware of several employees including the general manager all whom have been very nice and welcoming. Id like to tell you about a young man that really stood out his name was Deshaun he explained that this was his first day training on the floor as a waiter.I thought he had been doing it for many years because his confidence and knowledge was amazing. again we have been several times a month, for many years. He asked me how dinner was after we had to send back mashed potatoe and fried apples back for being to cold I told him the fried fish was delicious,he went on to say if I liked that I would love Fish Fry Fridays! I had no idea he went on to explain it to me and my husband told us his schedule that day invited us back to come sit in his station even though he would be still training.I want to let you know how nice and warm this young man made us feel.Great job Cracker Barrel, you got yourself a winner in hiring him. We will definetly return............
My husband and I went to the Gallatin TN Cracker Barrel this afternoon for a hamburger. After the waitress took our order it took 23 minutes for our order to arrive, only to be very cold. The waitress took it back, and we had to wait about 17 minutes for another order to arrive. This time the hamburger was not done. The manager did take care of the bill, but the service leaves a lot to be desired. Most of the waitresses look like they would rather be somewhere else. We used to go there every Sunday after church, but after a while, the service, left a lot to be desired also. So, in conclusion, we will not dine at the Cracker Barrel in Gallatin, TN any more.
I took friends to Cracker Barrel in Chattanooga, TN (Hamilton Place area) for Thanksgiving today. What a disappointment!!!!! We ordered the traditional Thanksgiving meal. Portions were tiny. Sweet potatoes taste like yesterday's. The ham sample was truly a sample, about 1 inch square with fat on it. The turkey taste great except skin and fat was left on the meat. Gravy was sparse on the dressing. The dressing was good. And-, to beat it all, we were expecting a dessert of pumpkin pie. Well, I kid you not, the serving each of us had of pumpkin pie would not have made a normal slice of pie when cut in 8 slices/per pie. We were shocked to have such a meal for $8.99/ea. We arrived there early, at 11 a.m. They obviously did not plan well. The customers were everywhere and I know from experience eating at Cracker Barrels what a good Cracker Barrel store serves. We were only 4 people out of probably 2 or 3 thousand today. I'm positive most of the people were shocked at the servings, as we were.
On November 4, 2010, My mother and I celebrated her "99th" Birthday at Cracker Barrel #62 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. What an amazing experience and many happy memories. Thank you so much to the amazing manager, Rob Stucco and the just as amazing waitress, Della Kirkman..They definately made our day !! Our whole family will be coming back for Thanksgiving Dinner...
I recently visited a Cracker Barrel Resteurant in Wilson NC and I enjoyed the food, but what made me upset was the way the store manager screamed at his employees from the back. In a few of those scream sessions some curse words were used too. I saw a gentleman server walk out of the back with his tray of food and he looked so sad and so embarrassed. I kindly ask him to the side if he really had to put up with this type of treatment. He told me that this was the only job he could find and that his wife was sick. It is a shame that people that are trying hard should be treated in this form. But I see that you have to get your food out in any way that you can be it that you have to intimidate for productivity. What a shame.
I live in Kennebunk,Maine and went to the New Cracker Barrel in South Portland,Maine with my daugther. We have a splended afternoon lunch. Our server Gail was an exceptional personable waitress. She greeted us with a warm smile and told us the Feature of the day, as well as her knowledge of the menu which was overwhelming for us to try and order. The food was delivered within 15 minutes of ordering, hot and so good. We hope you have a way to appreciate your staff who we witness working hard to serve us all that day. We look forward to eating there again.
I live in Central Calif. and as all know there are no Cracker Barrels in Calif. or Nevada. The nearest to us is Kingman Az. my wife and I on several occusions have traveled to Kingman just to have dinner and breakfast at the Cracker Barrel. Recently we made a car trip through the middle of the country from Central Calif. to New York City returning through South Carolina, Louisina, Texas then home in Central Calif. Twenry one days in all and at least one meal each day at a Cracker Barrel. Wonderful experiance each time. By far the best in KingmaStaff is very friendly and helpful. Looking forward to having breakfast and dinner in Kingman before Christmas.
I love going to Cracker Barrel and my family teases me about it. The prices are great. Everyone is so friendly and tries to help as much as possible. The Cracker Barrel that I mostly go to is Lindale, Tx. I'm at least 65 miles away but that is my favorite place. Thanks
CORPUS CHRISTI TEXAS Ive never in my life been more embarrassed or treated so rude in the middle of a restaurant which weve eat at almost ever other nite and had no problems and spent
Thank you Claire at HQ Accounting for handling me so well, you are truly a professional and represent the real Cracker Barrel philosophy. Have a beautiful day!
I WAS OVER CHARGED FOR MY LUNCH AT THE TRUSSVILLE FACILITY, WHEN ASKED TO CORRECT, THE MANAGER, BY THE WAY WAS CHECKING PEOPLE OUT YESTERDAY, WAS RUDE AND RAISED HIS VOICE AT ME, WHEN ASK TO LET SOMEONE ELSE CHECK ME OUT, HE REFUSED, I ASKED TO SEE SOMEONE OVER HIM, HE ONLY SAID HE WAS SORRY, THAT'S ALL, I EAT THERE AT LEAST ONCE A WEEK WITH MY MOM WHO IS 94, THAT IS WHERE SHE WANTS TO EAT, ALWAYS!,I WILL NOT TAKE HER BACK THERE IF SOMETHING ISN'T DONE TO IMPROVE THE STAF.
Today I visited your store in sulphur, Louisiana and was waited on by the greatest waitress ever. She greeted us with a warm friendly smile, and with she knew the cracker barrel menu so well. She gave us excellent service even with her 3 other tables. I was so impressed with her service and will be going back and requesting her. She is an outstanding waitress and your store is blessed to have her working or you all. Her name was Meagan and she had one star on her apron. She definitely should be elected employee of the month.
MY DAUGHTER AND I WENT TO CRACKER BARREL IN GEORGETOWN ,KY ON SAT. WE HAVE HAD MEALS THERE BEFORE IT HAD BEEN A WHILE, THE FOOD WAS COLD AND THE ONLY THING WE COULD EAT WAS THE BAKED POTATO THE PORK CHOP I ORDERED WAS HARD AND DRY. THEY THEN BOUGHT MEATLOAF I TRIED TO EAT IT ,IT WAS TERRIBLE. WE PAID $20.00 FOR TWO POTATOES. THE ONLY THING GOOD WAS THE SERVICE FROM OUR WAITER .HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER THE FOOD. WE WON`T BE GOING AGAIN. WE WONDERED WHY WE DID NOT HAVE TO WAIT AS USUAL. ON SAT. EVENING NOW I KNOW.
All you people having bad service should visit the Cracker Barrel on I-94, Belleville, Michigan. (Between Chicago & Detroit) The associates working there are caring, thoughtful people. I have been there many times over several years and the service is alway great. Once I was shading my eyes from the sun streaming in and an associate asked me if she could close the blinds for me. Now that is caring. Maybe some of these other "bad service" Cracker Barrel should send assocites to this location to learn how to treat customers and do their job correctly.
We have been regular customers of Cracker Barrel restaurants for many years. We always seek out the Cracker Barrel sign when we are traveling. We have always had a positive experience and have enjoyed our meals as well as browsing in the gift shop afterwrd. Now that we have a GPS, we key in search for the nearest Cracker Barrel along the route we are traveling. Sometimes we are in areas where there are no CB restaurants so we know we are a little closer to home when they start showing up again. I imagine we will continue to enjoy going to the Cracker Barrel for many more years to come.
Recently during a return trip from Cape Cod, our tour bus group stopped at the SCHEFIELD CRACKERBARREL STORE0385. During our stop I removed my baseball hat for dinner. This hat has a strong meaning to me, as my Twin-Grandson's placed 2nd in the World Series travel 10U division this past year. Upon returning home I couldn't find the hat. My wife suggested looking up the stores on line in that area. I was able to secure the phone number from this. I called the store and asked for the Manager. As it was I was talking to her. Explaining the situtation, she indicated that she was holding it in her hand. She further indicated after she collected my adress details and that she would personally take care of this to make sure I received it. TODAY I RECEIVED THE HAT VIA UPS. It should be rewarding to CRACKERBARREL that they have an employee like this in their employment. I'm sure you receive complaints but LETS PUT her in THE THE EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH CATEGORY.
I know several people that work at cracker barrel in corydon IN. Two are even relatives. There is a lot of drug activity there amd when i called the jackass manager to report it, gave him names and the drugs being passed around, HE TOLD ME HE DONT CARE! His name is Kevin. He was suppose to do an investigation but instead they knew the next day, kindy fishy, huh So if your food sucks or is cold this could be the perfect explanation!

This review is based on a visit to the Gainesville, Florida Cracker Barrel on October 2. I want to begin by explaining that Cracker Barrel is one of my family’s favorite places to eat; the food is good and prices are reasonable and we usually eat there a few times each month. I have a grandson that is turning 5 and he chose Cracker Barrel as the place to celebrate the occasion and wanted them to come and sing to him. We arrived at approximately 6pm on a Saturday night, the place was not full and there was no wait for our table for 12 though on arrival when they asked how many were in our party and we said 12 the hostess replied, “Are you serious?” A young man and woman came and introduced themselves as our service staff and took orders for drinks. We told them at this time that one of our youngest was celebrating his 5th birthday. From then on, there was confusion. When drinks were brought several of us had requested water with lemon but no lemon was delivered. We asked and they finally brought the lemons to the table. When they began to take orders we told them that the meal was going to be on 4 different tickets, did they want us to order how they would be paid and they said that dividing after the meal was not a problem. The second person to place an order got the server’s attention and asked could he please change something on his order; though she said yes, it was very obvious from her facial expressions and body language that it was not. Our meals came out in 2 groups which was fine but one of the meals was placed in front of the wrong person and since they were both something with cheese on top it was not obvious. The person took a bite, realized that it was wrong and got the attention of our server; when much to my surprise she took the plate and put it in front of the correct person, after she was told that a bite had been taken out of it, I was shocked! The pancakes ordered were not delivered with syrup and one meal was completely missed and had to be re-ordered. When the 11 other people at the table were almost done eating, I went to inquire about the missing meal and the manager told me that the food was coming “immediately.” The manager apologized and said that he knew things had not gone smoothly but to let him know if we needed anything else. We had to get up from the table to find one of our servers to get drinks refilled and the female server came to our table and told us, “I realize that you have had crappy service tonight and I am sorry. We underestimated how busy we would be tonight and were not prepared and are doing the best that we can.” At another time, another staff told one of our party that “though we are not busier than usual, we are busier than they thought they would be and did not have their star employees working!” Then it was time for cake and the birthday celebration…..the male waiter was walking toward the table and another young man from another section saw him and started to join him and he shook him off. He walked up to table, placed the cake in front of my grandson and said, “We do not have enough people working tonight to sing…..Happy Birthday,” and walked away. So now that dinner was over, we were waiting on our checks which NEVER came (we could have easily just walked out). Once again, I went and found the manager; re-visited my disappointing visit and again received an apology. He walked us to the register, where we had to stand as a group(with the line growing behind us) and sort our meals to the proper tickets and all he could say was that he was not charging us for the meal that was delivered after everyone had almost finished eating and that, “the beverages were on him!” This was the first time in my life that I have left a restaurant without leaving any type of tip; our entire experience was miserable.
I am writing this letter to complain about the leadership in the restaurant. Many of the employees are unhappy here which falls upon the leader> She has been very rude to customers, employees, and needs some leadership training in this position. She was very rude to an employee who works in the store. Everyone who comes in this establishment looks for this person because they like her. Cracker Barrel is a well loved place and she is not using good practices. I would hate to see the business suffer because of poor leadership.
