I just quit Cracker Barrel in Springfield, Ohio because there is just way to many drugs there!! I try to stay away from that and it is hard when the other servers are right there popping pills in front of you. Some of the managers are just plain rude for no reason, and the cooks are always yelling, cussing, and throwing food in the window at you! I thought it was going to be a nice place to work in but i was very wrong. I love the food but your workers suck!!! I had to quit my job because yall suck at doing yours in hiring the right people.
My husband and I live in Spring Hill, TN. and eat at the Cracker Barrell there and in the one in Crossville at our 'weekend' place. We began to notice that everytime we went in the store in Spring Hill, the manager (?) of the gift shop is rude to the employees and the customers. We have been longtime customers of Cracker Barrel and understand that it is not normal to have someone on the staff with a bad attitude. It may be that she is having personal issues that she may be bringing to work, but her behavior is out of the norm for a great restaurant like Cracker Barrel, and they need to be left at home. Maybe it is time for Valerie Dewey to have a talk with someone in the company that can explain what REAL Customer Service is all about rather then her brand of 'customer NO service'. It isn't fair to customers or employees to have to endure her rude behavior.
I have just recently had breakfast at one of you locations and was so disappointed. I had always looked forward to you warm PURE MAPLE SYRUP and was so disguested to find you had diluted it with sugar. Not only that you had made the bottles much smaller. So much for a nice touch.
You are building a new Cracker Barrel in our home town, Aberdeen, North Carolina, to open in June; And I just happen to have a few old items that you could use as display; not that you need mine; but just asking; How and who do I contact; if you're interested; hewo2@windstream.net HORACE E. I applied at the Cracker Barrel in Front Royal,VA. After interviewing with a manager on wednesday April 27, 2011. I was set another interview on Friday April 29, 2011 @ 3:30. I arrived at 3:25 to Have the Manager come out and Tell me that i would not be hired because i didn't fit in. This was done in the store. He was rude and had an angry look on his face. This was done very unprofessional. I was not given a reason and believe that i should of been told on Thursday April 28, 2011 when i called to see if i could come in earlier for the interview. Instead they let me drive 20+ mile to be treated like I was a bad person. I will never step another foot inside any of your resterants. I can not believe that your managers treat people that want to work for your company like crap. I have never meet a manger that handled professional business like your manager Brian did at that time. You need to train your manager how to be business and professional. That might be way you can't keep employees. I interduced myself to him and he didn't even acknoledge me and just started putting me down. I believe i should have been taken in to an office and explained way i wasn't going to be hired. No your manager just started by saying that Mark would not hire me and that i didn't fit in. What the hell is that? So hats off to your crappie managers in Front Royal, VA . Professional not. and you can minus the one star. I give you none.Read your complains that are on this page and you can already tell that your manager are doing a terrible job. Train your managers. They are very unprofessional.Or do you train them to be jerks?
On Easter Sunday I experienced a terrifying episode. I order pancakes with blackberries on top. As I was eating I got choked on a stem with three sharp sticking out the side. I had to force the food back up and pull the stem out of my tongue. If I would have swallowed that food and stem I would not be here today. On Monday I woke up with a soar throat and tongue. Today my throat is still soar. The waiter and manager did come out to apologize. I requested a copy of this incident report for my record but hasn't received it. I really did like your foods, however, this incident made me feel like Cracker Barrel is not checking their products. If someone from corporate office contact the franchise on Mechanisville (Bell Creek Road) location to inquire about this. I know that the manager will sweep this under the rug but I could have lost my life. I will be in contact again.
I worked for your cb in Bowling Green, Ky. for 3 years..I had alot of regular customers. And took very good care of all my customers. The day I quit,it was because, I was running Judy's food, that had been in the window for 10 minutes. And the manager,a lady that was fired 2 weeks later, asked me what the hell I was doing. I believe in team work. So I tryed to help, anywhere that i was needed..She got in my face,,And I walked out..I know I can never work for you again, that is what they told me..I really don't think this is right..I still have friends that work there and I have been told that they are working servers 15 hours with out a break,And this is against the law..I wish you all would hire someone to go to work under cover as I new hire,,So you can see what goes on inside your stores.People are being treated very badly there. And this would be a way ,for you find out,,just what is going on in your stores.for there is alot of things going on that you could be sued for....
I love the service in Valdosta Ga. My server of choice would be Victoria. She is new but she knows how to treat the customers. I would hope that she gets higher position in the near future to show her true potential.
I went to have breakfast at the Cracker barrel at highway 410 in San Antonio , Texas . I have been Going there this winter a lot. I was seated in the back of the first room, the young girl came And Took my order and gave me a cup of coffee. I sat and drank my coffee watching people come and Go I waited and waited, the man and woman that was seated just in front of me already had eaten And he was getting his money to pay. I even ask the bus boy if I could get something to eat And He didn't know English so we just smiled at each other. Finally I got to up to leave telling the girl Who seated me I was leaving that I never got my food, not even a second cup of coffee. She said to discuss it with the manager. I am a 61 year old widow with blonde hair, my husband Served 25 years in the United States Navy. My waistress was a young Hispanic female, and I fell I was discriminated againsted due to being blonde and female. Matter with the management
Love the food and workers at our location on Independence Blvd,Charlotte, NC Just want to know why the company sells so much junk from China? I look around the restaurant when I'm eating and see all that "Americana" stuff on the walls then walk into the store section and can't believe so much stuff "made in China" - it is probably about 90% stuff from China. I'm not opposed to buying from China but even the "Americana" stuff you sell like cutsy flag infants outfits, a mug with the Presidents faces, a book about Abraham Lincoln....all MADE IN CHINA. Please think about allocating some of your store space to local crafters. This would be a great thing to for all of the locations in the great United States of America.
This restraunt sucks i would not recomend my freinds to this place the restraunt in glendale az 27 deervalley the managers were rude to me and the waitress was horrible and corprate they dont care about you they dont even sign papers for the employees had a freind couldnt get a paper signed that he didnt work there for a month they suck bad
As we always stop at C/B either on our way to florida, or on the way back to NJ. We stopped in Georgia. Waitress was OK, waiting time was unsat to say the very least. Waitress took our coffee order about ten minutes after arriving, she returned to take our breakfast order, placed to order. After 25 minutes & looking around at others we knew something was big time wrong. I called trhe waitress over, I was told they were running slow today, whichn was a Saturday morning between 9 & 10 AM. After 35/40 minutes I asked for the Manager, waitree tells me I'm sorry he cant come to talk to you now, he's on the grill cooking. The cook/s were not there. I advised the front desk upon leaving and why. She then tells me, "OH" were now telling everyone coming in the door there is a 30 minute wait. Needless to say we we wasted over an hour there & went across the street for breakfast. C/B, totally unsat. R/Louis DeBenedittis
I just wanted to inform you that after having eaten at Cracker Barrel so many times how disappointed we are in the one located at 7878 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Kissimmee, FL 34747-1738 US 192 & Silk Road (Osceola) (407) 390-1190. We arrived at about 5:30 p.m. and they were not busy at all. After we were seated, 3 waitors/waitresses were cleaning tables. They proceeded to seat two other tables after us. The tables seated after us were immediately waited on and we were still sitting. We finally left and spke with the hostess and asked for her to pass on to the manager. After we went to the car, I decided I wanted to speak to the manager myself. Upon reentering the restaurant, the waitress that should have been ours was laughting with the hostess concerning our situation. When I requested to speak with the manager, the waitress went back and talked with the manager concerning the situation before the manager came to speak with me. The really sad part is that the manager really did not seem to care that we had experienced such treatment. She said she had rearranged tables since our waitress was sick and she was confused. I truly felt that the manager did not really seem to care. We eat on the average at Cracker Barrel two times a week @ about $25.00 each time. If one calculates this for the year, this would be approximately $2500 or more they would be receiving from us. We will not be sharing this with them any longer.
I recently had my first day as cashier (I've been in the retail part of the store for over a year) and my very first day (I was a little nervous) they decided to do a surprise mid-shift drawer count. I was a dollar over but the manager assured me that it was fine and that they gave a grace period anyways. So it was my turn to count my drawer to make sure the right amount was in there when my manager started yelling at me to hurry up. I had one behind me and one in front of me and they were overlapping each other in their effort to try to get me to count faster. What is the sense in that? You want someone to count faster so you scream in their ears and expect them to remain calm and go faster? No way! They pushed and pushed until I was crying! (that doesn't normally happen) And when I asked them to "please do not speak to me that way" they told me I was over the line and said "who do you think the boss is here" can you say power trip? After they realized their mistake they asked me to stay on cash because I was good at it and they needed me. I am not going to if they continue to treat me the way they did. I had to keep myself from quitting completely. I was so embarrassed and I don't want to face them again.
As a former Cracker Barrel server for several yeas at two different stores, I want all to know that you will get exceptional, good, fair, or lousy service and food. I know this is broad, but it all depends on the day. The people, servers, cooks, managers, dedication to the Cracker Barrel philosophy, were they drunk the night before? Understaffed? Couldn't care less about anything? Having a marvelous day? Totally passionate about doing what's needed to make Cracker Barrel work right? The variables are immense, because there are so many different types of people and situations in any given day. As a 15 year waiter (in a different "real" career now as an aircraft mechanic, my dream job!) I can tell you you just have to know how to handle all the variables yourself to make an experience at ANY full-service restaurant positive for YOU. It's a shame that we must try somewhat to control our experience while dining out but that's the way it is. People have changed SO MUCH in the last decade or two. Most just don't care anymore. There's little to no dedication aimed at the ideal a given person is placed in. Cracker Barrel can be a wonderful experience with awesome food and exceptional service. But, it can also be miserable. When you go in, TELL your server exactly what you expect. Tell him/her that you will tip them really well if they'll take good care of you and get everything right. Money talks in this industry where most servers make under $3.00 an hour (minus tips). A servers tips are the vast majority of their income and I am a firm believer that you should always leave a large tip. These people have extremely stressful, low-income, busy jobs and work really hard to make a few dollars from you. You have NO IDEA how difficult serving is when the restaurant if rocking and full. Getting a large tip is so much FUN! Most servers depend on the tip YOU leave. Their food, clothing, children's needs, their whole life usually will come from YOUR tip. I leave at least 25%...ALWAYS, unless the server just totally and completely sucked and didn't care one bit about anything, which is rare. Normally I leave very large tips everywhere I go, restaurants included. I will leave 30%, 40%, 50% or even more because I KNOW what they are going through. I love giving in this way! I plead with you to do the same! Don't spend time trying to figure out a percentge on some card you carry in your purse. Don't leave coins, just round up if you can't figure out 15% and leave at least a few dollars, even with the lowest bill ($3-$5)! AND - if you knew some of the things I've seen go on in the kitchens of restaurants, Cracker Barrel included...you'd know why eating out experiences can be so difficult sometimes. DON'T treat your server like crap. He/she is your equal no matter what. Income, life context, appearance, attitude, we are all equal in God's sight, so treat your server with kindness, patience, gentleness...love. Often your server is in an extremely difficult life context. For 15 years I've "been there, done that." Thankfully, never again by God's grace. Serving is an extremely low-paying, highly stressful occupation. Put yourself in their shoes, relax, be patient, your perception of time is not realistic when you're hungry. What seems like 15 minutes when hungry is probably actually 5 minutes. Be kind, take control when things start going awry, but be kind, gentle, peaceful...loving. And leave a huge tip, just because God designed you to give to others generously and hilariously. And your server NEEDS it! Cool thing about giving is.."what you sow, that you will also reap."
I travel often, recently I went to the Findlay, OH Cracker Barrel. I must say, I have never had better service. Our waitress was Amanda. In all the years and all the Cracker Barrels I have been too, she was the BEST! Not only was she ontop of it all, she was very pleasant. Very rarely do you come across someone that enjoys their job so much. She was very attentive. Our food was hot and fast. She kept us with coffee. And even wrote a note on the back of our check. Have a Blessed Day! This was a very memorable experience. I would recommend to everyone to stop in. I have had good service before, but really, how many places do you go and want to go back because of the service. Yes, I do love the food, but she made it extremely pleasurable.
I would have given zero stars, but that wasn't an option. My husband and I stopped to eat at the Cracker Barrel in Conroe, TX. We were seated promptly, however, we never received any service of any kind and the place was definitely not busy. We waited quite some time and watched as others who were seated after us being served. The waitress taking care of the two tables behind us knew we hadn't been waited on because when we got up to leave she asked if we wanted her to wait on us. I told her it was too late, but asked to speak to the manager. He came out and I told him the situation and told him I had even seen him walk right past our table. All he wanted to know was where we were sitting. He never offered so much as an apology. We spent our money and had a lovely dinner at the competition down the road.
My name is Renee Clark I was at the Cracker Barrel store #266 on February 5, 2011 at around 12:30 I was seated another patron came in the Restaurant and followed us to our table set at the table behind us and then got up and hit me with his jacket reached in my purse and stole my wallet. My sister and I ran out after the man followed him to the parking lot and stood in front of his vehicle and he tried to run over us with his rented vehicle. Police were called and report was taken. Police came to store later to get the video footage of the incident but sadly to say what the store #266 gave was very insufficient. I went to police station identified the man and the car on the bad video that was given. Later went back to Cracker Barrel and asked to speak to General Manager and Manager on Duty that day and tell them that we needed more video and all numbers of witnesses that he took down. I was treated very poorly by Management I then went to Corporate level this has not seemed to be much better. When the police went to pick up the 2nd video from 2-5-2011 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm the computer had crashed! Seems like someone is hiding something! Corporate said that would get me copy but I have heard nothing. My meal was not comped they have done nothing for me or my family! Needless to say I have nothing to say good about Cracker Barrel store #266 or Corporate office Renee Clark
Cracker barrel Springfield IL is a huge joke. I ate there and there was some new manager there with glasses who was very rude. I don't know what his name was, but it began with a G. The food took way too long and there was some "system" that was being used to speed things up(it wasnt working). If it wasn't or the nce server, I would have contacted corporate.
