I must echo the comments about the disappearance of a decent selection of Travellers clothing at Chico's. I lived in them for a decade, but now I can't seem to replace my worn-out tops and T-shirts, just the pants. There isn't much of a selection. Travellers tops used to be great because they would skim over bulges and you could cover them with colorful jackets, and look good. Now, all the tops at Chico's are tight, tight, tight, and if you have a bosom you have to go elsewhere. I don't get it; there are so many of us Baby Boomers who still have to buy clothes that you would think retailers would be targeting us. News flash! We don't look like we're 20 or 30 any more! But we still have money and we need clothes.
the Chico store I've shopped at for several yrs has wonderfully helpful saleswomen. However in the past year I've noticed the quality of merchandise has changed and not for the better. The last time there was nothing to even try on-slacks do not fit as they once did. Outfits I've had for yrs look better than your new merchandise. You are trying to save $$ but my friends feel as I do- we won't shop at Chico,s.
Let's start by saying I am a Chico's shopper and the majority of my closet is Chico's. I love the fact that the clothes hold up for years and that you can mix and match items and acessories. I have never been to the South Park, NC store but have been told that the sales clerks were very snooty and rude. I had a friend go to that store recently to shop for a Christmas gift for me. She was told that if I wore a large/x-large that they had nothing to fit me and that they very seriously doubted that I shop Chico's. My friend left and said she would never go back. That store lost a nice sale. My friend is wealthy and has money to spend, otherwise she would not have gone to Chico's in the first place. I will now never go to that store and we will continue to tell anybody that will listen not to buy from South Park, NC Chico's.
I'm exceedingly disappointed in the three True Color Tees I purchased (along with several other items) at your store in The Greene mall in Kettering Ohio. I bought these just prior to leaving for a cruise and therefore, didn't have the option to return them in 'unworn and unwashed' condition. However, rereading your published return policy, I'm hoping you will contact me and accept them back as I believe they meet the third requirement in your return policy, 'defective'. The v-neck sags and is misshapen, the body sags and bags. After the initial wearings (I had to on the cruise) I've only used these to sleep in. And I have far better looking and fitting sleep t-shirts. If this is your normal and expected quality, I won't be shopping with you any longer.
I have been a Chico's customer for years..however in the past year or or so I have found the quality to be below par for the pricetags. Also the designs are not as interesting. Its gotten to be like all the other dept stores. Also as to the last catalog I received I must say I was rather appalled to see the leopard cub. I do not believe in wild animals being owned for profit. I will now stop buying anything from Chico's.
Chico's is certainly not the store it used to be. It appears that someone has lost sight of not only quality clothing but customer service as well. I have shopped in this store for many, many years but will not shop there any longer. The quality of the clothes is terrible and all the clothes look the same. Also, I am tired of seeing so many younger models in your catalogs. If you have the White House Black Market for the younger gals, why not try to improve on your clothing in Chico's for the older women?? I think we deserve better options. It seems you can't quite figure out who you want to market to and therefore, you have ended up losing customers. I'm spending my money at Nordstrom or Macy's where I get quality clothing and much better service. Coupons aren't worth much if your clothing stinks.
The past couple of years - Chico's has gone down hill fast. Customer Service - Clothing offered - Would be wise to go back to the Travelers Line and make more styles available ... A lot of the new stuff is cheap looking and not very stylish. Five years ago ... Chico's was always 5 Star ... today it's not.
A bit of bile from ‘Hot Mess Heaven’- am I the only (former) Chico’s customer unaware that Chico’s has a secret/hidden policy of refunding cash payments by check that they insist on mailing, which contradicts their written ’90 day no problem’ refund policy? After requiring that I wait three months for a refund of my cash payments totaling more than $600.00; I was emailed a refund check using my nickname so that I can’t cash it. Unbelievable you say? Check out these email excerpts with Chico’s executive Linda Poeta (239) 346-6015; linda.poeta@chicos in Florida: L Poeta, Would you please correct your error; I accept that you are refusing to honor the commitment you made to provide the amount of shopping certificates you repeatedly volunteered, however I do not understand your decision to intentionally mail me a Chico's refund check, already 3 months overdue, that you are aware cannot be cashed because you knowingly allowed Chico's to print my name incorrectly on it; despite my numerous email reminders to you requesting that Chico's use my legal name printed on my license rather than one of my nicknames. It is clear that the name you mailed my overdue refund payment to is a nickname; Chico's customer service informed me several months ago that Chico's had multiple open accounts for me in my nicknames and one in my name, therefore, I requested in several emails to you, that you address my overdue refund check to me using the name I provided- the name on my license. Would you please correct Chico's error by immediately issuing me a check in my name that I can actually cash as I've previously requested multiple times, in emails to you? I am asking if you would please immediately correct this error. I use the word 'error' rather than 'mistake' because I asked you directly in previous emails; to clarify the name you intended to have printed on my overdue Chico's refund check and you avoided answering the question until after the check was mailed with the incorrect information on it. Please mail me my overdue Chico's refund check for my cash payments, using the legal name I provided you rather one of the nicknames that Chico staff allowed me to use after I indicated I preferred not disclosing personal information to Chico's retail establishment in order to shop there. The correct spelling of my last name is also in ALL of my emails to you. I am unable to cash the check you chose to ignore my feedback regarding and mailed with the incorrect information on it- in spite of my proactive requests that you communicate with me to confirm that you were using correct information. You ignored my requests regarding this issue until after Chico’s mailed the check with inaccurate information that I repeatedly requested that you correct. Based on past performance, in anticipation of your 'error', I’ve already confirmed that in order to cash my Chico's refund check; Chico's must print the name on my refund check that matches the name on my ID. Date: Friday, August 19, 2011 From: XXX To: Linda Poeta; Chico’s 11215 Metro Parkway Fort Meyers, FL 33966- (239) 346-6015 (phone) RE: Discussion with you regarding Chico’s store # 00022 (50 Massachusetts’s Avenue NE / Box unit 237/ Washington, DC) (202)289-4547; and your indication of intent to refund me my overdue Chico’s refund via bank check and store certificates as compensation for costs incurred due to Chico’s 3 month delay of my refund. L Poeta, Please address my bank check/make it payable to: xxx xxx Washington, DC Thank you, xxx Unbelievable- I was surprised to read the concern posted above; management at the store suggested that other customers OK with Chico's secret/hidden refund policy. Chico's refund policy should be transparent prior to purchase and hiding this information unduly exploits Chico's working class customers.
I have shopped at Chico's for over 10 years. My last shopping experience in the Chattanooga, TN store was unacceptable behavior. If you are not dressed a certain way or a certain size, then they do not give you the time of day. The employees were rude and then completely ignored me. I am a physician and usually go in my scrubs. If i should ever shop at a Chico's again, it will not be in Chattanooga, TN.
Please bring back your silk blouses. Everything in your stores is now polyester but at silk prices!! You went to a cheaper product but did not lower your price. Did you do this to get a larger profit? This is a bad business practice in our current economic times, you have intelligent customers, please treat us this way! I also returned an item the other day that I had paid with cash & was told the corporate office would send me a check in 30 days!!Are you serious? I paid you with CASH now, YOU have your product but I have to wait 30 days for MY money?!?! Things just get worse, please go back to the way Chicos was 6 years ago. I can go to Macy, Belk, Neman Marcus & Saks & get friendly service, better quality designer clothing at better prices & if I pay with cash & make a return I get my cash & I don't have to wait on a check!!
I am trying to get information regarding fundraisers. WE currently have a fundraiser in your Monroeville, Pennsylvania store but i was wandering if we could have these in all of your locations in the Pittsburgh area. We are a very large womens organization, 3200 members and we fundraise and wear Chico's clothing. We are Hadassah Greater Pittsburgh Chapter and our phone number is 412-421-8919 and my email is fsurloff@hadassah.org. I am the Development Director and am always looking for ways to partner that will benefit us both. Please let me know who to contact and how. Thank you so much for your beautiful clothing and for allowing us this opportunity. Francine Surloff Development Director, Hadassah Greater Pittsburgh Chapter 1824 Murry Avenue Pittsburgh, PA 15217
While recently shopping at a Scottsdale store in an area called the Borgata I was ignored & then treated rudely by a young woman with long brown hair & blonde highlights. When I tried to ask a question she started walking away from me while answering so I could not hear her response. When I asked another lady and she started to answer the first young woman snapped back that she had already answered that question and repeated the answer with a tone of extreme displeasure. The other lady sort of shrank back and moved away as if to avoid an unpleasant situation. As I was leaving I decided that I was going to mention this to the manager. I asked a young woman with blonde hair and an accent who the manager was. She said "Andrea" and pointed at the young woman who was so offensive and abrupt. If this is the kind of manager's that you hire you should be ashamed of yourself. Rest assured that I have told all my lady friends about this both in Arizona and back home in Texas. When I am in Arizona I guarantee you that I will not shop at that store ever again. Her behavior, appearance, attitude and public demeanor should be viewed as professionally inappropriate and not up to the standards of a Chico's store. If your rating scale allowed I would give her a minus 5.
Please consider opening a boutique in Abingdon, Md at a newly developed site The Boulevard at Box Hill!! I currently travel between Delaware and your Baltimore Stores but would much prefer to have a Chicos located in my backyard since 99% of my wardrobe is from Chicos over the past 10 years!!! Check the site that follows and I hope you will plan to be one of the retailers in this area!! www.boulevardatboxhill.com
I purchased three True Color Tees at your Holladay, Utah store several weeks ago and they have now developed tiny holes in the knit fabric. I phoned the store a few minutes ago and was told that the return policy at Chico's was changed about three years ago and they no longer take returns that have been worn or washed. If the quality of an item is not there, how are you going to know until you've washed it and worn it for a while? Everything in my closet is from Chico's - no exaggeration - but I guess I'll return to Nordstrom where their customers mean something. As a very long-time Chico's customer as well as shareholder, this one incident will do it for me. These items are overpriced as it is, and when there is a failure in the fabric, that is not good at all. It's even worse when you don't honor your merchandise and stand by your customers. We've stood by you for years and years!
Take a look at a 10 year stock chart if you were a fan. Clearly At the beginning of 2006 it's been down hill from there. Why pay for junk, and poor customer service? Shop at Nordstrom, a company with a long standing reputation and integrity.
Bad, bad service at Chicos Riverchase Galleria Store in Birmingha Al on MOnday, May 9. I have been a loyal customer since Chicos was only located on Sanibel and Captiva, Fl. I was ignored and even walked between two employees who were visiting with each other (the store was empty of customers at this time) as I went from the dressing room to the floor to get a different size. When I checked out I informed the employee that I helped myself as no one was helping me...her reply "well, you know how we are...you have to corral us! This is not the first time I have received rude treatment from disinterested associates. They can keep their coupons and I will shop our local boutiques who want my business and are trained to help customers.
So happy I found this online. I am sending a letter to the CEO. I am finished with Chico's. The merchandised was defective and when requesting my refund the "customer service" was rude. Glad I am not alone in my experiences.
Loved the black Traveler's shorts....please bring them back.....
This is due to customer service in your Fort Worth, TX store on University Drive. My daughter & I entered the store & a sales clerk commented, "Oh, I like those old travelers pants". I had $20.00 worth of gift certificates. Needless to say, I left without purchasing anything. This was on Friday afternoon, April 29, 2011. The clerk was a dish-water blonde with glasses.
I have been a Chico's customer for years. I love the clothes, jewelry, and shoes. Today i had a horrible experience at the Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grandville Michigan. I was returning a pair of jeans and crinkle blouse purchased in October as a Christmas gift for me. The manager said I was past the return policy date and there was nothing she could do. She refused to make eye contact with me and said it was totally my fault as I did not look at the return policy postings at the registers or my receipt. She finally relented and gave me my refund as a store credit. I was thrilled with that but the whole experience left me with a very bad taste in my mouth. She was cold, would not make eye contact and totally lacked empathy. The old adage came to mind, it's not what you say it's how you say it. I will never shop at that store again when she is on duty. I easily spend hundreds of dollars every time I walk into Chico's. I had several items in my hand after I received my refund but left them as i got more and more angry with how I was treated. Another sales associate even apologized to me. Right now the emphasis is on a fabulous customer experience. I did not feel that with this interaction. I just had to share this unremarkable experience. However I must give kudos to Julie and Mary Jo who are both awesome sales associates at that location. They know how to treat a customer and go above and beyond to make me feel valued. Thanks Julie and Mary Jo!!
