I have rented from Avis for my Corporation for several years. I recently rented a car in Italy. I was billed by Avis for traffic violations in Florence. Apparantly they have some sort of traffic camera to catch tourists going to and from their hotels if they are in an exclusion zone. There was no warning from Avis concerning this tourist trap and Avis has charged my credit card repeatedly for "administrative fees". When I finally got through on the complaint line, I was told by the complaints supervisor that " if you break the law, you have to pay". She claimed that Avis Italy was a different company and there was nothing she could do, not even say "sorry". Needless to say my company will not be renting from Avis. Budget or any of their companies in the future.
I Will Never Use them again. They processed the reservation under my correct bank account how convienent but spelled my name wrong. So they recharged my bank account again. My sister was in the hospital I had to rush to be there with her avis charged my account twice and didnt credit my bank account they sent me a check however i need the money on my account right away. I just found out the return date is wrong and will be charged for an day at which i thought was included into the week that i rented it from but there week goes from 5 to 7 days every time they made a mistake it cost me dearly.
My 21 yr old daughter is stationed out in San Diego. She purchased a vehicle through Budget. The owner of this paticualr Budget is Steven Vaughn. My daughter has been getting the run around about the title to her car. She gave him 8000.00 and he tld her that she would have the title in 30 days. Needles too say its been well over a year. He keeps telling her that he is waiting on the leasing company. Well I did a little research and found out that Steve Vaughn owns the leasing company called Nautilus Leasing. Something is not right. He is an out right criminal. BEWARE
I will gladly to give you my whole name, so that dumbasses group in Birmingham Airport Alabama will know I do not trust them for one inch. Bobby K. (CEO) is a SOB and a corrupt man who would not even attend his own dad's funeral because money is more important. Jeff R. has a disrupted family because he created it will his stupid ways of trying to put business before family. Avis Car and Truck Rental at Birmingham International Airport, Birmingham Alabama rips off customers on a daily -hourly bases. Think they renamed the airport after some man named Shuttesworth or some afro-name. AVIS will overcharge open account customers in rentals and insurance coverage that most do not need LDW insurance. They will keep anything they find in these cars left over, but claim to have a Lost and Found Department. However, if something of value like a coffe makers for ones Christmas present personnel will claim they did not have it, but took it home for oneself. They will pay blacks more than whites in wages, treat females different than males in hopes of getting favors retured, but will present to the community and rental world they are the best around. How do I know all this? I worked for them for over three years almost four before being fired, best thing that ever happen to me. It is true your nothing but a number when a company relies on a clock for its employees. Does not matter how much you too above others, never miss work and always do more than asked. Means nothing when working for these companies. You could die and no one would miss you. That is all true with AVIS Birmingham Car and Truck Rental. We had a clock, and radios to communicate between drivers and secondary equipment that did not work most of the times, and yes the workers were the blame, not this cheap company. We also had an employee die unexpected, and business as ususal continue. Same as when the owners dad died, he continue business as ususual. See people money is what drives this company. It does not matter how many times you rent from them, how many years you work for them, or who you are - Money controls the life of Bobby K. I was asked to resign or be FIRED, for stopping a drunkard from leaving in one of Avis cars. The drunk attacked me and I defended myself. Except the drunkard was one of their money buddies, so they fired me for protecting their name and property. Avis seems to have bad blood all around, but I would be willing to bet there is no one in any Avis group as corrupt at this Birmingham Alabama group, especially Bobby K. He thinks his money will promise him a seat in Heaven, doubtful he can buy a seat in Hell either - he is that corrupt.
I WILL NEVER RENT FROM BUDGET AGAIN! I rented a car from Budget and paid in advance so I could get the discount. When I picked up the car, I was told "I didn't think you can do that". So I had to call the main office to prove that I paid in advance. Once that was verified I was on my way. When I returned my car a week later, my account was charged again, resulting in an overdraft. They had absolutely no compassion. I was told it would take 7-10 days to get my money back. They didn't apologize at all. As a matter of fact, I was hung up on because I asked to speak to a manager. Their customer service sucks to say the least. I will ride a bicycle before I ever rent from them again!
My fiance and I have been planning our trip for 2 months, and we decided to rent from Budget. We stopped in and made a reservation 2 weeks before we were to leave. The morning we were to pick up the vehicle we went in and the vehicle we were supposed to rent wasn't even there,so then we were told we have to go to another store, but we can do our paper work at his store. So,we told the person this was unacceptable, then he said it didn't matter any way because we weren't allowed to rent from them because we had a problem with Avis 10 yrs. ago. So,we asked him to explain and he said no.Shoved the computer screen in my face and said read this you effing jerk.We called the corporate office and nobody seemed to care.
Do NOT I REPEAT!!!! Do NOT rent a car from Westport CT Avis rent a car located At the train station! There's a woman by the name of Tina Who solely runs that location. She's rude and very ill-manner. She was talking on the phone with her friends chewing gum whilst I stood there 15 mins before she even acknowledged I was there. Then told me she had a reservation on a car that I reserved thru the 800 Number therefore being I had to travel I had no other alternative but To take an SUV which I thought was ridiculously expensive!! The least she could have done was try an find another location. Not even a budge I've been told about the Westport CT Avis location being rude but This is by far the WORST!!!!
I rented a car from budget rental, p/u the veh 4pm 04/15/11it had a cleaning/smokie smell inside.I told the agent who said it was just the cleaning stuff that they use and it will fade away. drove it 10 miles parked it untill 3 am drove it 30 miles to orland airport. Agent that took the car also smelled it. 05/16/11 I received a letter from a Mr Rod Hubert stating that the car smelled of smoke and was dirty, and that they were going to charge my credit card with a $250. for the cleaning of the car. I called him and explained to him about the smell and who i told it to. I also told him my doctor's name and tel number so he could check to see that i don't smoke also the other three people that was in the car with me also don't smoke. He said that he would credit my card for the $250.As of this date 06/14/11 IT HAS NOT BEEN DONE AND I AM NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET ANYONE FROM BUDGET TO HELP OR TO CHECK OR TO GET IN TOUCH WITH MR HUBERT TO SOLVE THIS SITUATION.A customer service says "its Mr Hubert call" PLEASE IF YOU RENT A VEH FROM BUDGET "GET THE AGENT TO SIGN YOUR PAPER WORK SHOWING THE PROBLEMS ETC" I have checked at the Lake County Court that if you have this info signed its no problem to have this settle in a matter of a week or two.!!! I am still fighting this complaint.
We called the reservation number the night befor we needed the vehicle, when we went to pick it up we were told we needed a $200.00 deposit. We asked the representative three different times whether we needed a deposit we were told no the only thing we had to have was the $8.00 for the rental...We needed the car for a volleyball game that my 11 year old daughter was in that we needed a car to pick her up and we were told under no uncertain terms that we could not do it....We were also told by the store in FEDERAL WAY WA. that we could not use our debit card we had to have a credit card then we were told by the reservation line we could use a debit card....Nobody knows what they are doing in this company the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing and I will never use this company again..Not to mention the manager at the FEDERAL WAY STORE is a WHITCH with a capital BBBBB do not use this company if you want good customer service!!!!!!!
My name is Karen and I am a travel agent with AAA. This is in regards to conf#32572142US1 Adam Thibaudeau. I started calling Mike Herra at reservations in the LAX airport last week. I told him my situation, Adam is 20 years old and has two weeks before he leaves for Afghanistan. I told mike he was going to be on two weeks vacation. His dad wanted to rent and pay for his car. I called Mike and he then talked to the airport manage and he okayed it. I never said anything about having papers for going to Afghanistan I told Mike he was on vacation. So before I pushed the confirm button I had Mike on the phone and he told me Adam would have a car. So I confirmed it. So I got a call from Adam at 12:30am last night saying he was not able to get a car. So here is this 20 year old Marine who is going to fight for our country stranded in the LAX airport without a car. So I talked him to going to guess who the Hertz counter who took his military ID and rented him a car in 10 minutes without the hassle. Do you want to know what else Hertz did for him they waived the underage price. Ask me what I think of Budget right now I don't/ I am a travel agent with AAA and would I refer a military person with you, would you. If they are old enough to fight and die for our country then they should be able to rent a car. They have to have a good driving record before they even get into the service. This is not the end of this problem. The father of Adam is probably going to UTUBE this, which is what I was told. As a mother of a son who is in Special Forces in the Army what you did was uncalled for, as a travel agent disgusted. You have my number do with it what you think is right
On March 26, 2011, I rented from Budget Rent-a-Car of Memphis/Tupelo at 2650 Rental Rd, and I asked the lady (Stephanie) did she have a smaller vehicle than a Ford Explorer because I requested an mid-size vehicle online. She replied very sternly, that was all she had at the time and even if I went with a smaller size it would cost the same. I don't know why she was so angry and treated me so roughly, but I did not think it was necessary. I just went with it because I did not want to be rude before my daughter and I was tired due to a long day. When I returned the vehicle, Wednesday, March 30th, I was rushed to get out the car and before I knew it, I left my iphone inside the car on the passenger seat. When I checked my purse and bags at the airport, I notice that I accidently left it there, so I called immediately, and I ask them to check the vehicle. The first thing that came out of the lady's mouth that answer the phone was, "The vehicle has probably been rented to someone else". I told the lady, I just was there 15 minutes ago, so can she please check. She finally decided to check after going through changes with her. She put me on hold for less than a minute and said it was not there. I called back a second time when I arrived home in (Illinois) and the lady said, very rudely, "You called here before!" I never got my iphone back because I know they have it, and I totally recommend that no ever use Budget, because they are not about customer service. In fact, they have no idea what it means.
I have been a preffered member of Avis for about a decade. I recently rented a car from Avis in Phoenix. The following week, a hard credit check appearred on my credit report. A car rental does trigger a soft credit check which does not appear on a credit report. Hard requests stay on your record for 2 years. I called customer service and talked to Charles. He looked up the transaction and told me the hard check was a mistake that never should have happened, especially to a preffered member. He said that it would be taken care of. A week later, after nothing changed, I called again and talked with Gladys. See asked for my case number. I told her I wasn't given one which meant Charles got me off the phone and just moved on with no intention of addressing this issue. Gladys did give me a case number and told me a supervisor would contact me. A supervisor, Regina, did call me the next day to tell me there was nothing they could do. In fact, they could issue a letter to the credit agencies stating the check was done in error. They just couldn't be bothered. I'm talking with our HR department about dropping Avis for another company.
I hate this company, I will never ever use this company again!!!! You could not pay me to use AVIS. Worst customer service is an under statement. If you lose your rental agreement past 6 months forget about getting a copy. Everyone in the whole company needs to go to Customer Service school. They won't get my dollars, or my family's dollars. I am going to set up a protest again this company. Worst EVER!!!!
Vallejo, ca This is the worse company to work for i was with this company for 4 yrs it has been the most stressful experience every. After moving from our location; because of so many vandalism's an break in's we were forced to share a location with budget until our new location was ready to move. a long store short the district mangers came to us me and my boss and stated that they wouldn't be opening another location an we had two options #1 to take a 3k training bouns and help out another near by location which didn't make sence because we make much more then that each month #2 was to take a servance for about 18k. Tthinking about the chooses we chose the servance after letting the district manger know our chose we hit a few road blocks. They never responded to none of the emails that were sent to them. Their bosses never knew anything that was going on. Moreover, they were dishonest about the offers they offered. Also they wanted to meet at Star Bucks just to let us know how they knew we went over their heads. Now they want to partially give us our money. They want to to deduct past customers that have not paid for their rentals. These rentals are from last year and we do not have access to the original contracts because they packed up and moved the paperwork. The Avis pamphlet # 23 states that the collections dept.." If you do not pay all amounts due to us under this agreement upon demand, including all charges, fees and expenses, including, without limitations, payment for loss of or damage, rental charges,
I believe face book will get wind of the amount of custumers that are dissatisfied. I don't even know where to begin, after reading all of the inquiries listed above i found myself one of many who got the same responses from their so called customer service. Collecting a pay check for the service you supervisors do i applaud you. you can really pull the wool over your managers and directors eyes of that company.
I am EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the customer service my husband received when renting his car. I had done everything online and had elected NO insurance, etc... Supposedly had a discount through USAA. When my husband picked up the car the rental agent took advantage of my husband, he was extremely upset as he had to fly to xxxxx due to his mother passing away., they added all kinds of stuff and what should of been a $231.00 rental for the week ended up costing us $597.00. Customer service said that they only thing they can credit is the upgrade that he should not have been charged for. I do not know how this agent sleeps at night treating customers in this way. This was truly poor customer service!
DO NOT EVER RENT A TRUCK FROM BUDGET ! RIGHT FROM THE 1ST MINUTE IN THE TRUCK, I KNEW SOMETHING WAS WRONG WITH IT. THE MAN AT THE PICK-UP POINT DENIED IT AND TOLD ME THE TRUCKS ARE INSPECTED BEFORE THEY ARE GOING OUT. IN LESS THAN 3 HOURS THE AXLE HAD BROKEN, THE FRONT RIGHT WHEEL WAS AT A VERY STRANGE ANGLE AND THE CHP AND TOW TRUCK DRIVER TOLD US HOW LUCKY WE WERE TO BE ALIVE AT ALL ! BUDGET TAKES NO RESPONCIBILITY FOR THEIR VEHICLES, AND INFERS THAT YOU MUST HAVE BROKEN THEIR VEHICLES. THERE ARE 7 PAGES OF YOUR RESPONCIBILITIES TO THEM AND THEIR VEHICLES, AND NOT ONE PARAGRAPH ABOUT THIER RESPONCIBILITY TO YOU, AS RENTERS OF THEIR DEATH TRUCKS. IT TOOK THEM 3 DAYS TO GET US BACK ON THE ROAD, AND THEIR CONSTANT ANSWER WAS "WE DON'T DO THAT". THEY DON'T DO ANYTHING. EVEN THE EXEC'S ARE USELESS. THEY PROMISE TO CALL, STRAIGHTEN THINGS OUT AND THEY DON'T EVEN CALL BACK. IT SHOULD BE CALLED "U B FU--ED" CAUSE IF YOU RENT FROM THEM YOU SURE ARE !
If anyone else had issues relating to problems with Budget's equipment malfunctioning (like Nicole who had a tire fly off the car dolly) - please email me ASAP - at born4law@hotmail.com. My daughter rented a truck and tow dolly to do a long-distance move and she ended up having severe damage to her car (that was on the dolly) and having to limp it along for the remaining 10 hours of her drive. They are so lucky she (or anyone else) was not injured. That was just one of many things that this company did that was either wrong, immoral, unethical or plain old criminal. When she asked them for the service records on the trailer, she was told that they're not available. When she called to ask who their legal counsel was, she was told that they cant give that information out. Luckily, her and I dont give up quite that easily. I have the number to their legal counsel, and their address and we are not going to just sit by and let them mistreat her. I'd like to see what the possibility of a class action lawsuit is by gathering facts and information from others who have had similar situations and problems with this atrocious company.
Budget rented a car to someone else for three days and charged my account. I've contacted the local rental office (twice) and the corporate office (twice) to report the issue. They have been "investigating" for seven days. Meanwhile I have had to cancel my credit card because I don't know if this is a case of fraud or just another screw-up by Budget. They can't tell me the name on the driver's license that was used to rent the car. They also can't seem to be able to look at the video during the time they rented the car. There is no way to delete my credit card info or cancel my account on their website. I'm being held hostage by people that can't spell customer service. DON'T RENT FROM BUDGET!!!!
I rented a vehicle on Sat Sept 10-Sun Sept 11, 2011. Picked up and returned at 11:00 am. Although my reservation shows Sept 11-12, 2011. Before I left the parking lot the guard is required and claims he inspected the vehicle and checked off what he called damage. When I returned it, the cashier tried to charge me for gas, instead of asking me for my receipt. The car was inspected by the attendant and the cost went to my Amex card. On Wed, Sept 13, 2011, Manager Cliff leaves a message that damage occured to the driver's side door and wants me to fill out some kind of claim. He did not say what kind of damage there was. If that location damaged that car between Sunday and Wednesday and have the gall to try and blame it on a customer, a lawsuit will follow and I will ask a local tv consumer producer to give Avis publicity they do not want. Avis does not want a Black Eye. I am LIVID and very disturbed by this. Why am I being contacted and blamed for damage 3 days later. When I returned that car, there was no damage and I am not taking responsiblity for it and if this matter is not resolved, I will NEVER rent from Avis or Budget again. In all the years I have rented cars, I have never had an accident, damage property or been contacted 3 days after the fact. I contacted that location this evening, Sept 14th, but Cliff had left for the day.
