I rented out a dirty car to begin my travel on June 14, 2012. I returned it June 17th at the Lagrange Georgia location. Everything was fine until 9 days later I received a letter stating that a cleaning fee of $75 was being added to the bill. I immediately contacted customer servioce who researched the charge and informed me that it was being written off. She sent me an email titled "updated receipt". I thought this was the end. The following day my bank account was hit with a $150 charge. Again I called customer service who informed me that I was being charged and that the email I received from Avis from the prior day was not valid since there was no name affiliated with the email. I have gone round and around with no body helping but passing the buck. Customer service Supervisor told me that if I put a stop payment on the cleaning charge I would be turned over to collections. I have rented many cars from many companies. This is absolutely the worst. Tough Economy and consumers being squeezed out of money. I will continue to follow up legally.
I reserved a van 3 months in advanced to make sure we will be taken care of. got up there at 1 (When I was told). Had to wait forever with 15 other people bacause it was not there. Then had them give it to me dirty because they didnt have enough people working there to clean it and get it ready. Can you tell me why is it my problem that I did what I needed to do and yet they cant? Is it my fault that you can not hire enough people to work because I know you have the money. God only know we pay out the butt for the van. I will never ever use them again and I will make sure I tell everyone not to also. Thanks for nothing.
As a concerned citizen I feel that I need to let you know that until your company stops advertising on MSNBC I will not use your services and alert my friends and family of same. MSNBC has doctored tape of a political candidate to show him out of touch, this defies journalistic ethics and is designed to distort the words and record of a candidate for the presidency of the nation. This is not the first such incident NBC and affiliates have been caught at. The first being in the Trevon Martin incident. If your company has not the integrity to advertise on truth telling networks how can it be trusted in it's dealings with the public. I hope to see that Avis removes it's advertising until MSNBC finds the will to tell the truth.
The Budget rental on Woodruff Rd. Greenville,SC is the worst rental office that I have ever rented from. I was suppose to rent a vehicle 8am they do not open the door until 8:20pm from being locked out. They do not disclose the amount that would be held went your prepay online. The car I ordered was not there so they was nice enough to upgrade the car for free. Well when I check the car in the man charges me for the upgrade difference that I was told the day be for was free!! but what was unethical is that he told me it was sc tax. (another lie) My orginal paper showed I paid my tax sc tax. In stead of getting upset I took the number for customer relations to complain and get the charges fixed. smh
BUDGET RENT A CAR BREACHES CONTRACT, STRANDS MOM & 2 DAUGHTERS. Saturday night, June 9, 2012, the mother and daughters disembarked their airline at San Diego Airport secure in their pre-confirmed, credit card transacted and charged, contract – with Budget prepaid confirmed contract number - for a Budget Rent A Car to be waiting for them. The Budget agent refused to release their car, AGENT DEMANDED CASH PLUS $200 SURCHARGE; alternate credit cards and check were refused. Again and again the agent demanded cash or no car. Traveling under standard safety precautions, the mother did not carry enough cash to cover such a large demand. The Budget agent laughed at the mother’s pleas for help and safe transportation to their motel. Budget breached the prepaid, existing contract on which a credit card charge for the full cost had already been conducted and confirmed. Budget stranded the mother and two daughters, at night, on the streets of San Diego - without safety or ground transportation and without a shred of concern for their safety. For six hours phone calls were made to Budget by the mother and family members around the country for resolution to the issues with the same universal answer from Budget, “can’t help you”! A concerned female San Diego Airport employee offered the mother and daughters a ride to their motel. After the series of complaints by the extended family, Budget did reimburse the mother’s credit card for the charges previously made to cover the car rental contract they breached.
I will NEVER rent from Budget ever again!! They cancel my reservation for no apparent reason then make another reservation which I'm still waiting for and they say can't do anything about it! I was garunteed that I would have a truck by 8am! I've wasted my patience and time for this negligence! Unacceptable for a "professional" business. One of the customer service managers was also rude, I will be taking my business elsewhere
My family had our wonderful vacation come to a screeching halt when we returned our car to the Avis Cancun,MX airport and were told we had damaged the spare tire. We never touched the tire but were charged $75.00 to fix it. Avis customer service would not return emails and evidently condones scams on helpless ONE-TIME customers.
As a business owner and a consumer, I recognize that complaints come faster and more furious than compliments. So, it is important for me to write this letter about my service from Rondel Menendez. I am a frequent traveler, which requires me to rent cars around the country. My recent car troubles have increased my need to rent vehicles. The courteous and speedy service I have received at the Conyers, Ga. office has been head and shoulders above my other experiences. Menendez professionalism and attention to detail I will always remain a loyal customer with Avis. Thank you for putting Rondel in my local AVIS site. Fredericka Williams Happy customer.
So this review is regarding Avis location at Vienna VA on leesburg pike. I reserved an intermediate suv ford explorer. Their age requirement section states that under 25(21-24 years of age) I CAN rent a car as long as it's not a specialty car, minivan, full size suv luxury car, or a premium suv. And as long as I pay with a major credit card in my name and pay a $27 fee. Clearly the Intermediate ford explore does not fall under the above categories, but STIll I called the Vienna location to make sure that I would get the car and not be turned down at the last minute before my trip. Sure enough the lady I spoke with refused to give me the car and said that according to HER MANAGER they don't rent out cars bigger than a Regual Sedan to anyone under the age to 25. So I called their customer service line and after being transferred around about 4 times everysingle person (4 people) that I spoke with said that I COULD get that car. One of the customer service girls even did a three way call with the Vienna location and told the lady that I could get the car, she still refused. The customer service girl said "well sir I don't want to argue with you but I can't make them do what they don't want to do." After hearing that I politely thanked the girl and hungoil so I could cancel my reservation cause I didn't want to deal with AVIS ANYMORE. So I go to cancel the reservation and Sure enough they decide to charge me a 25 dollar cancelation fee. So I called them back AGAIN for the 5th or 6th time and explained EVERyThiNG to a different customer service girl and she was helpful enough to return ALL of my money all of which I will get in about 7 DAYS. Conclusion; AVIS = never use the Vienna location. Sorry I you find any spelling mistakes. I'm writing this in my iPhone.
I prepaid for a 5 day rental with budget. I was careful to read all the fine print of additional information. The day of pick-up, I was told I would be charged an additional $200.00 deposit on top of the $250.04 that I paid online. I didn't understand because the fine print stated under Additional Fees and Credit Holds: If you intend to use a credit card for the hold, that amount will be the total estimated rental charges or $200.00, whichever is greater. My total for the rental exceeding $200.00 and my card was charged $250.04 already. The customer rep. told me to call the 800 number, which I did. I spoke to an employee there and she agreed that that is what is stated in their policy however the additional $200.00 is a deposit for incidentals. I proceeded to cancel the reservation since I wasn't giving them $200.00 more dollars that could take two weeks to be released when I brought back the car that I had already paid for. To receive the refund I had to be transferred to a different department and was hung up on. When I called back to cancel the new person told me it was already cancelled. I asked her how when I was hung up on. Then I asked her to tell me the amount that was being credited back to my card, she did not. I asked for her name and employee # she refused by making up excuses, like she didn't know it and can not leave her desk to get it. I then asked for a corporate number and she refused to give me that as well. I would advise anyone planning to rent from Budget to not to. I missed out on something extremely important to me and my family. Prepaying is not the way to go. The manager even said not to prepay for car rentals, after the fact!!!!!!!!!!!
BUDGET ! Be careful with them. I had my little white dog in the car....with blankets in the back..etc I also vacuumed the car before returning it. There may have been 10 little white hairs left on the back floor. BUDGET hit my Debit Card for $150 for cleaning. Then that caused 2 of my checks to bounce ( $72 over-draft fees ) SO 10 little dog hairs cost me $220. AND NOBODY gave a damn or would help. In my 35 yrs of being in business -- I never saw anything like this. BE CAREFUL WITH BUDGET. They scam you whenever they can. - Bruce / Clearwater Fla
THE WORST BUSINESS IN THE UNITED STATES. Budget rental car. the charged me $150 cleaning fee after finding 12 little dogs hairs in the back. The surprise debit cause to other checks to bounch. $ 72 overdraft fees. After 35 yrs of renting cars......This is the most outrageous I have seen, - Bruce - Clearwater
Please do not ever rent a car from avis ive had the worst experience in my life i beg whoever sees this to not rent anything from these criminals!!!!!!!!!!
THE WORST RENTAL CAR YOU CAN FIND. THEY ARE PURE CRIMINAL. I rented a car at the Pensacola airport and returned four days later, the attendant took the keys, looked at the mileage and said "it is fine and thank you". Almost a week later I get a letter in the mail that tells me they are going to charge me $ 250 for the cleaning of ashes. I DO NOT SMOKE and I told them that. The mananger Mr. Micheal T...., actually was rude and arrogant to me. I asked for the pictures, they email them to me, and I knew what happened, It WAS POWDER SUGAR from some pastries I bought there and had in the car. I explained that to the manager who would not admit to his mistake or ignorance to see the difference between powder sugar (which doesn't feel or smell like ashes) and cigarette ashes. Ignorance or taking advantage of out of state customer? BOTH I believe, so...from now I bypass any Budget rental I see, and please do the same or YOU WILL REGRET TO RENT FROM BUDGET/AVIS.
For those people who are thinking for applying to AVISBUDGET at Orlando Airport. May think again. For those Automotive techs and lube techs , A, B, and C Techs. New comers, must work nights and weekends, 2 to 10 pm. Remember that 2:01 is Tarie and 2;05 is late. Which means 3 Tarie equals 1 Late and 3 Lates equals 1 Absence. Which would mean that a letter is In you future, POOR JOB PERFORMANCE. Well thanks to James Price zone manger lol. Remember that A techs need each month 85%, and lube techs need 100% or a letter is in your future POOR JOB PERFORMANCE. Remember that Absences one or more in a row equals one absence. Any Absence not in a row would just that, after six Absences a letter is in your future, POOR JOB PERFORMACE. Now this company may talk about team work and team player, no it’s not B.S… Which means if you are on a job for one or more hours, say on line A, and you can’t figure it out. Than that job goes to the next so call A tech and he is going to open a line B, which mean you just Dick around for that time, which will lower your percentage , by the months end, and there could be And letter in your future. That’s MR Price idea. Remember that there are some old timers there and They love to watch what everybody else is doing or not doing. And remember the terms that you will Be hearing is bus driver and back stabbers and throwing under the bus. Remember this shop has very Bad mangers, Mark Ussligo and Robert Judin the worlds worst…… Not what you would call a peoples Manger, don’t’ know how to talk and treat people. Keep in mind that 6 letters can mean your fired… lol. Also keep in mind that if you order a wrong part or not sure what you are working and sill order parts Watch out man.. This Chris the parts manger will throw you under the bus has quick as the day is long. Remember to keep in mind that this locate is very bias, meaning shop mangers to HR. trust me when I Say that. Now I really don’t think the company has a whole is bias, but mangers here lie a lot to protect Themselves. Remember this location wasn’t always like that. This job became very stressful, if still want To work here stock up on a good supply of Tums. If you go against or say something to Mark Ussligo, Than forget about anything you may want or need, my friend forget about it, your days off or anything else. He wrote the book on retaliation Mark Ussligo. Keep in mind that you have 5 mins between cars, if not Robert Judin will be talking to you. And don’t forget the cameras in the shop, make sure you smile and wear a bow tie.. I know that the shop mangers don’t respect the people who they are working for, that is Very true. You will also notice in time that where will be new rules, and if the rules don’t work for Mark Ussligo he will change it and say it’s company policy. And I had notice over the years that Mark Ussligo Has very poor hiring practices. Remember this Mark guy loves to fired people which makes him look better Than if people quit. See being fired makes MARK look like hey I’m on the job people, I’ll get rid of all the Trouble makers that I just hire. When Mark catches on that someone might be quitting he will make sure that you will be fired, like I say makes him look good. Trust me when I say that. Than you mangers that will tell A techs how long a job should take, (your lucky if these’s so call manger know how to pump gas Into there vehicles). Well MR James Price knows how long a job should take because Ft Lauderdale does The job the correct way ….BULL SHIT…. That’s why all of there recall came to Orlando to get redone. You know it’s amazing how people can run or manger a automotive shop who knows nothing about mechanics or what it takes to repair a vehicle correctly and having the vehicle be safe. These’s manger will fired a master tech that is factory trained Ford and GM. Over something so stupid which mean nothing. This location loss a lot of great techs, but you wouldn’t it, because in your personal file. Mangers make sure that they word your letters in there flavor making mangers look good and you the bad guy, but in reality that’s not true. Trust me when I say that. M ark also wrote the book on cover ups.
Poor customer service; customer service representatives lie, show a reckless disregard for their customers and hung up while I was speaking. The did not care that they overcharged me and the funds were taken out of my bank instantly which caused my checking account to have a negative balance for the first time in my life. I am 62 years old and am responsible. I was told by a customer service representative that I would get it back in 1 to 3 business days anyway, and they refused to reverse the overcharge. This happen on the 1st day of a 10 day vacation. I did not enjoy one day, did not sleep because of their mistake. I did call my bank president on the following Monday and explained what had happened and transferred money into the account instantly but WHY SHOULD I HAVE HAD TO DO THAT? I picked the car up at 11:00pm on Saturday and could not transfer any money until the following Monday. Now I even have overdraft protection because of this event. They even admitted to seeing the mistake. I will never use this rental company again and will discourage anyone as well. I would not even give them one star and would have selected zero if the choice was available.
I rented a care from them got there insurance and i had a flat tire in the middle of no where and they wouldnt tow the care or come replace the tire that was flat.i had to pay for the tire myself and still almost a year later have not recieved my refund. so if you rent from them you better hope you brake down or get a flat tire in there region or you will be stuck with the bill
This is the very worst rental car ever. I rented a cra at the Pensacola airport on Thursday evening, drove to the Hotel on the beach and stayed there undtil Monday morning, drove back, checked the car in and everything was fine, The attendant took the key, checked the mileage, sticked his head in the car, looked and was fine. A week kater I receive a letter telling me that I am charged $250 to my credit card for cleaning the car because smoke odor. I AM NOT A SMOKER, and neither is my daughter. we did not had anybody else in the car, we spent the days at the beach. I called the manager in pensacola, who did not returned my call at first. When I spoke with him, I told him I do not smoke. He did not cared, he was not nice and told me i will have to pay, no dispute. We had some sand in the car, maybe the people there are so ignorant to see ashes for sand? I am not a smoker and have to pay $ 250??? I would NEVER EVER rent a car from Avis/Budget, you do not know what else they will charge you for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY
My daughter rented a budget truck in Florida for a one way trip to Michigan. The trip ended up taking longer than usual, causing her to stay at hotels, because the truck had no running lights and only one brake light, the wipers did not work and the mirror on the passenger side could not be adjusted. She was unable to drive at night or during the 3 storms she encountered on her way home. This is totally unacceptable. We will never rent a vehicle from Avis/Budget again.
AVIS at Krabi airport in Thailand has been holding my deposit for months now and I have tried to get them to release it several times. The car was professionaly cleaned and filled up with gas before returning it in better condition than when I rented it. They have collected the payment for the usage but have not released the deposit and all I get from them is B-S. I want my money JAH
