Disappointed American

I recently read an account of a armed robbery in one of your Viriginia stores. I am saddened to think that Autozone would terminate an employee whom potentially saved the life of a fellow employee. If was terminated because he violated company policy by bringing a weapon into the store, shame on you. A lesson could be learned from this young man. There are times when you have to stand up for what is right and it would seem Autozone should have stood up for this young man. I will not be giving Autozone my future business.

Poor customer Service

I am extremely disappointing with Auto Zones customer service, not only was I treated with the most uttermost disrespect, but I was yelled by the Store manager over personal affairs. All I wanted was to make a purchase and return a few items. Auto Zone's needs to train their employees on better customer service. I will be taking my business to other stores. This is such a shame given the fact that I have been a loyal customer.

Nickels & dimes

On 12/10/10 I bought a headlight, they induced me to buy a $1.19 cent item called Bulb Grease. I never used it and sought to return it some mos later. They refused the return, even with the receipt. Haven't been back and am now sending the product to their HQ in Memphis, suggesting they use this lubricant for something in their Customer Training course.Amazing how we customers can stay pissed off and for issues of nickels and dimes.

Complaint

The AutoZone location 1262 columbia drive, Decatur, Ga. My grandfather and I purchased a radiator with a (LIFE TIME WARRANTY) for his 1995 Toyota Tacoma on December 22, 2012. The sales person told us that we would get our money back with the return of the old radiator which was also under warranty. January 5, 2013 we returned the radiator. The sales person told us that they could not find the old part in the system and did not want to give us the refund. My grandfather has been a loyal Autozoner for over 25 years, he showed his reciept for the purchase and had to argue for over a half hour before a refund was given this treatment of loyal customers is unacceptable towards a senior citizen. My grandfather's name is Raymond Walker and my name is Trammel Borders (Grandson) I do not wish for this to happen to ant one else.

Tire Chain Return

I purchased tire chains for a 2000 Camry (I am the only person in America with a 2000 Camry) on 12/31/2013 and returned them to the Mission Viejo , CA store on 01/04/2013. Before purchasing the tire chains I went on the (1) internet to read the Autozone return policy,(2) the return poicy taped to the front door and (3) my receipt before walking out of store with the chains. There is no mention that you can't return tire chains. Pepboys will gladly take back tire chains, but they UP FRONT tell you there will be a 20% re-stock fee. Chains were never taken out box. Autozone refused to give me a refund. I told the manger that I would go to Wells Fargo and have them remove charge from my credit card. Finally the manager proccessed the refund. Nio more AutoZone for me.

Go Somewhere Else

I have gone to Autozone in San Jacinto, Ca. three times for three different parts and each time they gave me the wrong one. They don't have enough people working there to help and from the look of other reviews this has been ongoing for years. The manager should be fired, the computer system revamped, and hire someone who knows what they are doing. There are plenty of people who need jobs that know what's up. From the looks of the reviews on this site though it looks like corporate is riding the gravy train until you go out of business. Hopefully soon! Your business model is a joke...customers have to wait in line three different times during one visit...never, ever will I go here again!

Torrington store is lousy

I was told in the Torrington store that everything is sold "as is" and nothing can be returned. When I checked with corporate headquarters, they said this is not true but they never called back like they said they would. Do NOT shop at the store in Torrington, CT

cedarhill

Your store in cedarhill texas givecame in on s very poor customer service.my wife came in on wensday December 19,2012 she ordered strouts for our car we got to our mechanic they had given her the wrong ones on Dece mber 21,2012 she try to return them but yet they gave her some story about all of you computers Were down and they could not refund our money this has happend several times before but i let it slidecan you tell me if this has become the practice of autozone if so then consider me a fomer customer as well as all my friends and family the people at that stoer realy need a refresher course in customer service.

Shameful Company

I find this company to be a disgrace. They should not have fired Devin McLean. They are opening a branch near my home and I can promise you I will not spend one dollar at a company who treats a hero in the manner they treated Mr. McLean. Autozone to me now means Anti-American & Anti-hero.

Shame

I am a retired Police Officer and can not believe Auto Zone fired this man. The serial Hold Up man who ended up in Jail would have eventually killed someone if not on the day of the Auto Zone Robbery, then some other hapless victim. I swear I will no longer buy parts from Auto Zone until this wrong is corrected.

fired for saving a life

We will never shop at autozone again. Can you imagine firing an employee for "sticking his neck out" and most likely saving the life of his manager!. Your place of business is the same as you home....you have a right to defend it. Your district supervisor who fired Devin McClean should be fired himself. Devin should get an accomodation for his bravery!!

Company Policy

I understand autozone has a policy of zero tolerance in regards to the incident concerning Mr. Devin McClean. The man is a veteran, very close to being a father,& damn sure a hero. You people fired him at Christmas? I have news for you, me,my family, friends, and everyone else I can get to listen, have a zero tolerance for your behavior. I will stop everyone I can from doing business with you until this man is rehired with a full apology.

No Longer a customer

In light of your decision to fire the hero who saved your manager, I will no longer purchase anything from your firm. I will be patronizing Advance Auto from here on in. This is disappointing since I have always preferred your store over the others in my area. I cannot in good conscience patronize a company that cannot recognize our 2nd Amendment rights under the Constitution.

McLean

I was saddened to read about the stituation which caused the termination of Mr. McLean. I hope Autozone reviews their policy and understands what a brutal world we live and do business in. It is men like McLean that make a difference and are not the problem. I wish there were more men like McLean who do the right thing and companies that realize this. No gun zones just make it safer for criminals to do their activities. I cannot support a company that does not stand behind people like McLean.

Misguided Firing

"Zero Tolerance" policies are not a good idea. As corporate managers you are paid to exercise judgment, not quote from an inflexible rule book. Whoever decided that a "Zero Tolerance" policy would be in the best interests of AutoZone in regards to firearms was not a world class thinker. At first blush it may appear to be in the best interests of the corporation (profits), however, I would refer you to one example of what can happen during a robbery: google Brown's Chicken Massacre. 7 employees were murdered. The store had to be closed. Subsequent businesses failed in the building. It was eventually torn down. Your policy leaves no room for HUMAN intervention. Would you like to see one of your stores closed in the same manner? Obviously not. Anyone with an ounce of common sense knows what that employee did was an act of heroism, they also know that your corporate policy is stupidity at its worst. Looks like you have earned the title "Another Bunch of Empty Suits"

Devin

I am appalled of the firing of a young employee who risked his life to ensure an auto-zone store was not robbed, and life and limb were saved. Devin of Virginia carried a legal fire arm, and had the right to bear this arm according to our Republic's Constitution. I will never purchase a single item at auto-zone or any entity affiliated with auto-zone. To fire an employee whom took matters in his hands to protect lives and property shows where the companies views are.

no longer a customer

i will never buy another product from autozone. Gun ownership and right to protect ourselves is in the Constitution. Read it autozone executives.

Customer no longer

A veteran who has knowledge of guns and is trained to assess a situation and take care of it in the best manner....which he did .... and you punish him for his intiative. Not even a write-up or request for the employee to not distribute behavior like that in the future. I hope this young man does get a job with a company that will appreciate him. Trying to do what is best for his fellow man and the company he works for, and you punish him for it. I will also send this to everyone I know and am no longer a customer of AutoZone

Customer

I am a Customer and am sorely disappointed that your company cannot tell the difference between an employee who is a hero and used a weapon for Good to scare a criminal that had intentions of robbing your store in the least, and possibly killing innocent people in the worst case. If common sense cannot be applied to your policies and this honorable gentleman rehired, I will never be back in your stores again! Furthermore, I will do my best to alert EVERYONE I know to ignorant Human Resource management that cannot apply logic to policies. I am positive they will feel as I do and boycott your place of business!!

Devin McClean

I have bought a lot of parts from autozone you should have neve you should have never fired Devin Mc clean you were not there to protect him he may have saved his own he may have saved his own life and coworkers life and saved your store from being robbed and this is how you repay him
