AutoZone on N Chester Ave in Bakersfield, Ca...my alternator went out on me while traveling on Labor Day Weekend. I went into the store, explained my situation and was helped by several very knowledgeable and friendly staff. After replacing the alternator, I still had a charging issue....AGAIN back to the AutoZone for more advice...Adrian was very helpful and showed me what needed to be done. After all was done and they recharged my battery for me, I returned to the AutoZone to have my car rechecked. Unfortunately they had just locked their doors, I called from my cell phone and Adrian agreed to come out and do a rescan for me. He found I had a defective battery cable connection, he went to shim it so it would tighten up and it broke apart !! Adrian went inside got the right parts and fixed it right there and then for me...even after hours !!! NOW THAT IS EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE.... I just want to thank him for everything he did and got this traveling lady back on the road.I just wish more people had the great customer service skills this man exuberated in assisting me !!! Thank you.
I have been a loyal Autozone patron for many years. I moved to a new town and have now started to use your competitors for many reasons. I have contacted the local managment as well as the regional and district offices. I spoke to Mr. Lunceford after contacted the regional office. The first and foremost issue is upon going to the Piney Forrest location of your store on numerous occasions to find the manager on duty drunk and wreaking of alchohol always the same manager. On several other occasions had came to the store and same manager was in parking lot sitting in car and marajuana smoke billowing out of the car. My brother in law went to the same store and was offered prescription medication by a manager for sale. At your other location just out and out poor service people eating at the counter. No knowledge of an automobile asked for a specific part. I even had it in my hand and the associate told me the car doesn't have that and tried to give me a different part. I have gotten part numbers and printed them and on numerous occasions been given the wrong part still either because of not paying attention or just plain out can't read I don't know which. All in all someone from your corporate headquarters need to investigate these two stores here in Danville Va and do it without notifying the area managers or the district managers. So you can get to the bottom of it. Also have called the stor and been unable to understand the lady who answers the phone because of extremely slurred speech.
I work at store 1661 in Virginia. It is an absolutely terrible company to work for. I work in the Commercial department, and im a red shirt. but, i find myself doing grey shirt and diy tasks. i constantly go above and beyond my job title and then when i ask for 37 hours a week instead of 40 hours, i get 14 hours a week. on top of doing the work of myself and everyone else, i never receive lunch breaks and i do not receive my 2 15 minute breaks. when i asked my commercial manager for the phone number for HR, she gave me a fake number. when ever i try to address a problem with the store manager, she is too busy flirting with customers, other managers and the DM to even hear what i have to say. but, when she actually does hear what i say, instead of taking care of the issue like a manager should, she says she will "take care of it" but then she treats the issue like she is in middle school. this store is run by a bunch of children. i will be contacting a lawyer.
I went to the store in Indianapolis, In. at 2808 Lafayette Rd. 46222, store 620. On August 30th, 2012. The young man working there named Jay Jami was so helpful, and very nice. I didn't know how to take my battery out or put one in, and he tested my old one and I needed a new one, he took my old one out and put the new one in. With not having any frustration or attitude about it. He was so considerate, and understanding. He made my day! need more employees like him! He's a KEEPER!! I WILL KEEP GOING THERE IF ONLY YOU KEEP HIM AT THAT STORE. Thank you. From a very satisfied customer. (: Sarah Scott.
I just want to let the corporate idiots of Autozone know that I am really tired of computer issues and warehouses messing up our orders, just like you we are trying to run a business, difference is I treat my customers and clients so much better then you treat yours. We do thousands of dollars worth of business through our local Autozone which by the way is fantastic except for one employee, but no worries there. However, we constantly have issues with orders being cancelled after we've paid for item or ordered items when store order is submitted to warehouse or the warehouse sending the completely wrong item even though order was correct. Which delays us and makes our clients unhappy because they have to wait longer this is bad for business AUTOZONE. So could you please get off you bottoms and fix these issues and everyone else's. So, life can be a little sweeter for us all. TY
I brought a battery less than a month ago for my car that turned out to be defective. Use my debit card instead of cash to pay for it, some how lost the receipt. The store here in Centerville,Ga would not accept my bank copy showing the store number and address plus the date I brought the battery as a receipt. Paid 188.67 for battery. Refused to give back my money for defective battery. Called corp they gave me store manager number. She said, I needed to speak to district manager, who has not contacted me. All this run a round. Will not be going there ever again, nor will i be recommending to any of my friends.
Actually 1 star is way too much for the Auto Zone store @ 1350 MacDonald Ave in Richmond Ca. I went in this store to purchase 1 item (not to mention I had been in the store the day before to purchase a new battery and other things) I am in the back of the store when I hear the following exchange: 1st employee to 2nd employee: "you should not have left that on the counter, he could have walked out with it." 2nd employee (loud enough for me to hear in the back of the store): "He's not going to steal it man, he's mexican not black!" I am an African -American woman in the store to purchase, NOT STEAL, an item. As I approached the counter to make my PURCHASE the offending employee got on the phone and would not look me in the eye. I politely let the other employee know that I was highly offended and would not be shopping there anymore. A human being should not have to endure racial slurs just because they go into a store to shop, or for any other reason for that matter. That was very disrespectful, unintelligent, unprofessional and just plain racist.
Empty promises !!!!!! I am a recent ex AutoZone employee. I've heard all the horror stories from friends and family. I am here to confirm !! This company really, really in desperate need of management from the top all the way down to the part time kids working there !! AutoZone hired me as a manager to run one of their horrible stores. The manager training program was supposed to be for 8-10 weeks. I was going on 4 months as a M.I.T. Then, they just told me that there is no store to put me in so they have to make me an A.S.M ( assistant store manager). I've been in the automotive field for over 14 years and I have to say AutoZone by far is the most unprofessional company to have been a part of !! I will definately not make the same mistake as a customer !! I will NEVER work for this company much less shop at any AutoZone. Everyone that I know will know not to deal with AutoZone, wether its professionally or as a customer !! I've been on the inside, and I know what goes on. AutoZone sucks !!!!!!! I hope they close all of their doors soon or in the near future !! Empty promises......

Well, I'm totally irritated right now with your Ozark, Al. Auto Zone store. My daughter Chelsea is attending Troy University in Troy, Al. but lives in nearby Ozark. She needed a new battery so stopped by Auto Zone first, but then needing the best price went to the nearby Walmart to see which was the best buy........that is our right as consumers. After realizing the price was better at Walmart but the warranty was better at Auto Zone, she returned to the Ozark, AL. store. She went in and in her bubbly personality said " well I'm back" and the one employee said " did you go somewhere else to see if you could get it cheaper?" and my daughter replied "yes". Well the two lazy asses that were there let her stand there for over 10 minutes, and she was the only person in the whole darn store. I agree with the other complaining customers, maybe if you hired some decent employees you would have more customers. Your store is a joke!!!
Here is a new one, and some very important information for my retired and active duty military members here in the Orange Park area. I purchased some parts for my truck at AutoZone @ 777 Blanding Blvd. the other day and the lady forgot my military discount. I talked to someone there on Sunday and because I had to pick up more parts was told to bring the receipt and they would fix it. I go in there...this evening and I had to wait until the lady behind the counter decided she was finished talking to her kids about homework. When she asked me if she could help me I told her I was there to pick up my parts and then about the adjustment for the military discount. She looked at me and said "That's more trouble than it's worth. But I can do it I guess." Well me being the friendly fellow I am told her never mind and to do a return instead of the adjustment and I also didn't want the other parts I ordered. She said "I am sorry you feel that way." I explained to her that I didn't feel that way, she was the one making a big deal about having to adjust for the military discount. She then looked at me and said "Just sign the pad your return is complete." No more buying at AutoZone for me. They just lost over $200.00 in tha sale. Oh and by the way did I say I was a friendly fellow?See More
autozone has very rude employes and manager here spring valley they never know anything you asked and they just dont care !!!!!
Your store sucks. I'm done shopping there. You never have any body that knows anything. And more so, if a person Is not paying attention to what they are getting charged for. You will get ripped off. They don't know or don't care. Almost charged close to $70 for oil advertised for 35 plus car wash for 6. And took damn near a half hour to get that far. I walked out. I will continue let every body I know, know how they will rip you off.
Autozone is a horrible company. They shorted my check. Lied to me. I will make it my mission to shut down every store i can in my life time. I wouldnt shop there if they where the last store on earth!!!! GO ORIELLYS! !!!!
Wake up AutoZone! I shop at the AZ store in Hagerstown Md on Virginia Ave. I decided today would be my last visit. All I came for was car wash soap to clean my ride.. I stood at the cash register for 10 min must have been 5 ahead of me waiting. There was only two guys on parts counter with 6 people in line waiting. Some woman employee was walking around the store with a cup of coffee. So there was a total of 11 customers patiently waiting for there turn. Now remember I only needed to purchase the soap no questions no returns just simply rung up. While I stood there and glanced around waiting for my turn the telephone rang off the hook. I counted at least 22 rings before the caller finally gave up. The poor woman in front of me had two core boxes to return. She stood there as long as I did then they told her u are in the wrong line. Cores are only accepted at the parts counter. I thought she was going to blow her top. There is no sign pointing this out. By this time I became pissed so I decided to put the car wash soap back and go up the street to advance. I was in an out in 2 minutes. Autozone: when u don't answer the phone do ya think we call back? No! When your customers wait as I did today do u think we will return? No!
I went into your Wadsworth, Ohio store to gather items (for our son's auto class). Had I been a Secret Shopper, I would have given it a FLAT F RATING.I walked in with a supply list in hand, and was overlooked by staff, even though I stood close to the counters. While they walked by with other customers, NOT ONE said a "hello", or " I'll be with you as soon as I can" acknowledgement.. They were not that busy, with maybe 3 other people in the store. One emplyee walked by son, and asked if he needed something. My son requested paint suits with hoods, only to have the employee wave his hand and mumble it was in the next aisle. Fine, except that it was NOT in the next aisle, nor anywhere in the area. I was getting irritated, because as a female, I felt totally ignored and unacknowledged as a patron. I had a '67 Camaro, my husband had a '70 Chevelle and my dad has been collecting classic cars since before I was born. I was stiffed as both a person, a patron , and I walked out after NOT ONE person offered to inquire if we found what we were looking for... The employees have NO training as far as customer service whatsoever. The testosterone level made me feel totally unwelcome there. As a female, I was insulted that I was so ignored as a customer, even though I have grown up around mechanics, show cars, and respect vehicles. I will NEVER return as a customer, I will only refer other auto stores to my son from now on. Just saying, "hello", was too much to ask for from the employees, and they will never get a penny from my pocket. They have a hell of a lot to learn in order to make a sale, or a customer feel comfortable in their store in Wadsworth, Ohio.
I went into the store in Hammond Indiana to purchase a rotor for my Chevy Malibu 2005. They gave me the wrong part and I discovered this after I dismantled my vehicle. I only have 1 car and I could not return to the store. I called them back to explain and asked them to please deliver the correct part to me since it was there error. They repeatedly had me on hold and eventurally hung up on me.
We plan to picket autozone stores in Indianapolis as they have refused to return an $84 charge back to my account after repeated attempts to resolve the matter otherwise. autozone sucks!
I was in your location in Covington Ga where I was in need of an alternator as well as a Crankshaft Sensor. When I arrived it was 1 customer in the store and what seemed like 6 employees. I had asked the young lady behind the counter for assistance. I was told she would not go out in the rain and check the alternator. I explain maam it was no longer raining and it was a gentlemen out front putting a battery in a car. She (Tammy) indicated if he want to do it he can. I am not going out there. I walked outside and ask the gentlemen (Austin) if he would help me he said he would and he did. Needless to say my battery was also bad and was covered under warranty. I replaced my battery and went to a competitor and purchased other parts needed because, Tammy was eating chip and playing handsy with her male friend across the counter while he stood in your establishment with his pants hanging off his behind and underware showing indicating he would take Tammy to lunch at the Mexican restuarant. I saw that Mendi Wilson had a tag that read Manager. I asked her for the number to corporate and she went balistic. Why do you need the number why do you want to know who the District Manager is and I thought why are you raising your voice and being hostile. I am spending money and asked a simple question. Short of it all I have always use Auto Zone, However do to the service in which I recieved at your 3215 Elm Street Location. I have called a number given from information on monday 8-6-12 and left a message for a Mr. Moore who has not to date returned a called. Thank You,with kind regards I remain; Rashid J. Wilson
