Congrats and Please improve
It is grand that your AMC 12 in La Jolla, CA, participates in the Metropolitan Opera broadcasts both on Saturdays and then the Encores on Wednesday eves. We always attend--usually the encore. Please keep up this good work. However, last night at TITO the sound was quite poor a good bit of the time. Please check on this as the sound is a very important part of opera. I would be glad to hear from you. Thanks. PS we not also attend other AMC 12 showings having gotten to know you.
I have never been so upset with a business, you have not only violated people rights, you feel, that its more inportant to take money from people and then searching them for phones?really?give me a break!you will ''NEVER'' get another penny from me or anyone I know!and I will be contacting the news to investigate this!HOW DO I KNOW OUR PHONES WERE NOT GONE THROUGH?yeah like I trust any of you to be honest!have fun dealin with the press!like we don't have other thing these security personel can be doing!whats wrong with you people?Edina Southdale!
Time off
I currently work at AMC. I requested time off from December 31st to January 5th so I could propose to my girlfriend of 5 years. I was more than willing to work every other holiday (thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve etc...) with no extra pay. When I sent the request in, it was immediately denied. When I was hired at AMC over 2 years ago, I was told that I would be able to take at least two main holidays off. Has this changed? AMC promotes flexible work hours but I have come to know that as a lie.
We have gone to AMC theaters in Deptford NJ for years. and for years they have been dumps. The Deptford 6 AMC is the worst theater ever. It is dirty, smells like a toilet in the theater with blankets covering some wet seats from leaky roof and a aur purifier plugged in the back of the room. Then something ran across my shoe halfway thru the movie on Saturday. I will never ever patron AMC theaters in Deptford again. They are so dated and run down. You have nerve to charge $9 admission. I'll drive half hour to newer clean box offices.
I was wondering why your employees do not receive time and a half on Holidays. Do you think that it is fair. For them not to receive it. After all the come and do there job,.to please and help the customers enjoy the show. I feel your company should show your employees you appreciated the work they are doing. After all it is the Holidays. And they work hard. Just wondering
Veteran's Day Disappointment
I cannot tell you how disappointed I was today as I stood in line to purchase my tickets to Argo and the gentleman in front of me said ticket for one please and I'm military, the response he was given was just so you know sir our military discount is only good after 4. First thank you for giving those who fight for us a discount, but secondly serious on Veteran's Day you couldn't offer that all day! You should be embarrassed and ashamed!
Ben, the local manager of AMC Cherry Creek Denver just insulted us so bad we actually had to leave the theatre. He should be ashamed of himself. What a despicable creature. He falsely accused us (both professionals) of trying to get into the movie without paying even though we were told to enter by somebody who was unable to offer us seating in an adjacent theatre. Ben actually hunted us down and approached us aggressively, demanding "to see our tickets". When I told him we were informed to proceed into the theatre, he forced us to leave (despite NOBODY in the theatre with an upcoming movie in 10 minutes). Ben is a complete weak soul who deserves bad karma.
10/13/12 visited AMC theater woodinville wa. argo was the movie, film quality was grainy, and had a brown tinge to the colors! fair at best! is this what you offer in todays hi tech world for $8.50? you better do better than that if you expect me to turn over my hard earned dollars!
Food good, theater clean, but no one to enforce no smartphone use while movies are running. Thumbs down especially at Yorktown in Lombard, IL
I recently went to the AMC Star Gratiot theater. We arrived at 3:15 , and was told that the power was out. We decided to leave and return home but within 20 minutes the power was back on. During the power outage the prices changed and the movie times were no longer available. The picture we wanted to see started at 3:20 and the outage was over at 3:40. I think the lower price should have been honored but instead we were treated very rudely and were told we had to attend the later showing. I WILL NOT SPEND MY MONEY TO BE DISRESPECTED. I will no longer patronize any theater in the AMC chain.
I dropped my 12y old daughter and her friend off at 7:10p for a movie at AMC 30 in Mesquite TX. When the movie was over it took me 24min to get there. My daughter and her friend were approached by security, stating they had to leave. She called me and said Security was making all the kids walk to a restaurant, a football field away from the theater. This is a busy area on Friday and Saturdays. He was following them on his Segway as they all had to crowd into the parking lot of a restaurant with an open bar.I pulled into the parking lot at 9:35 and was told that the movie theater has a 9pm curfew. Then why would you sell tickets to a movie that lasted after curfew. My child spent $40 in two hrs at the movies then was forced to walk across a parking lot in traffic with about 20-30 other kids.
Kncoekd my socks off with knowledge!
We lately came tgrouhhout your posting and therefore are already examining along. I desire to communicate my personal admiration of your creating ability and ability to help to make target audience research by using the actual starting to the end. I must study newer posts and to talk about my ideas along with you.
Hello; I am a 17-year-old kid from Phoenix, Arizona. I lost my wallet last night, seeing a movie with my brother and my dad. I found out I lost it this morning, but couldn't find it. When I was released from school, I went home and asked my parents if they had any luck finding it; none. I asked my teachers and the bus driver that took me to and from JROTC from my school (Desert Vista High School). However, when we all but gave up on hope, my mom came up with an idea that we should call our local location. She did. After a short conversation and an even shorter drive there, we went up. We asked the man that she was talking to about my wallet. He said that someone found it (possibly an employee, after I left). When the employee revealed my wallet to me, there was still money and all my identification and recruiter's cards and everything of the like. To whom it may concern, and the two employees on work at the time I was there (Zack and Wes), thank you. And, to the person who found my wallet, you will forever have my blessing.
If I could give this less than one star, I would. We attended a movie yesterday, at the Independence Commons in Independence, Missouri. The seats had all apparently been cleaned recently, but were still wet once you sat down. Everyone mentioned it. It was uncomfortable. I was in white slacks. They now have a huge soda-colored stain all over the back and the back of the legs! My long top has the same colored stain along the white hem. My plans to go shopping after the show were ruined as I had to rush home to try to get the stains out before they dried. I took pictures of the garments. I am disgusted and won't be attending any more AMC movies. I am out time and money. Thanks for nothing!
Can I PLEASE get negative stars! I have been to this "place" 3 or 4 times ---- within the last year. Each time it gets worse. Thug Nation, should be the name of this place! Guns, knifes, numchucks, should be giving AT THE DOOR, to ward off the creepy gang bangers, their off spring, their non-ladies, and the tweakers. I paid over 44 dollars for 2 adults and 1 child ticket to Paranorman 3D. Paid another 20 in a small popcorn, large coke and M&M's. Ok so we at over 60 bucks? Right? OK--- I am not a cheap person, none of this bugged me----- UNTIL------- The hoodlums behind us kicked our chairs (with they poppi and mommi with thems) for 5 or 10 mins straight. My husband stood up and asked them to STOP kicking our seats. Which they did- interestingly enough. Then after the show, as clearly they did not want to interrupt their $100.00+ event, (there was about 6 or 7 of them)--- the poppi wanted to fight my husband. Yeah you heard me, as in throw down, "what choo got homes", and fight! He was pissed because they were kicking our chairs and we said something????????? He then began cussing at us, because we "disrespected his kids by asking them to stop"..... This went on for some time as my husband was not going to apologize. Then the hoodlum began swearing. Which then I jumped in and talked about respecting the kids and using the F word???? He then waited for us at the door, wanting more. What kind of place is this? The guy clearly wanted a fight, and if I had my cell phone with me I would have called 911 on him and the theater. This place SHOULD be shut down. Upon leaving I saw an employee let his entire clan in the side door of the theater. Stroller and all.... Yeah--- come on in ---- sshhhh...... look around..... yeah, no ones seen us.... The time BEFORE this hot mess too, I had a tweaker sitting 2 seats to my left, blowing up his cell phone the whole time and tweaking HARDCORE. He was shaking like a class 5 hurricane. He was sick--- and in the worse way, shaking, itching, leg shaking..... He left his seat and came back in 10 minutes- FIXED. OK so I guess this deal went down in the men toilets??????? Makes ya wonder what else goes down in there? I ask this- as this was my TIME EVER AT THIS SHIT HOLE---- do they have a manager? Is there anyone AWAKE at the desk? Because I am still not done, the theaters are dirty, small, and nasty.
My husband and i went to AMC Barrywoods 24 in Kansas City on Sunday, August 19,2012. The theater was about 1/4 full since it was a 1:15 pm movie. In light of the recent happening in Colorado you would think it would be common practice for the people cleaning the auditorium between shows would make sure the emergency exit doors are secure. About 20 minutes into the movie one of those emergency doors opened! There was an audible gasp through the theater as apparently my stomach was not the only one to drop. 2 teenage boys walked in leaving the door cracked open to the outside and they proceeded into the lobby area. A man in the theater got up and shut the door. The manager was notified and his response was pretty casual, "yeah, we are looking for them.". Needlless to say it was a frightening day and hard to enjoy the movie after that,
I have to start out by saying I'm a long time AMC movie goer. But the recent shooting in Aurora points to two issues converging in our society that make me rethink ever going again. 1st - The mentally ill being treated with medications and not institutionalized as they once were. This means there are hundreds of thousands of mentally ill folks running the streets, wrecking havoc (going to movies?). Especially when they stop the meds. How many mental patients have you read about going out and shooting someone. Every week a new one makes the news. 2nd - If your going to shoot someone, your going to look for the "no gun" zone so you know no one will shoot back at you. I think that speaks for itself. AMC needs to step away from its no gun policy and respect the law of the state they operate in. Otherwise it's just a matter of time that AMC is taken to court for liability. Your forcing people to disarm so they can't protect themselves. This means you accept the responsibility, the accountability, the liability. Sooner or later one of the victims is going to think about that and come after you for their rightly deserved settlement pay day. Hope you can afford it.
I bought a tIcket tonight to experience a bit of movie magic. Unfortunately, there was no magic. I bought my ticket and approached the concession stand. I had a coupon for 50 percent off on my I - phone. The concession stand would not accept the digital coupon. I asked the concession stand employee to ask the manager, same response. I asked to speak with the manager myself. I was directed to a telephone. Next the manager came over. The response was the same. I asked for a refund. I would imagine that an entertainment powerhouse like AMC would be on the cusp of the latest in technology. I did not enjoy the movie magic I had so anticipated.
Over the last several days AMC theaters have been handing out the wrong ticket stubs. You walk up to the window, tell them the movie and time. They give you your total, you pay, get your tickets and walk away. Only to discover that you received tickets for "The Hobbit". This has been happening over and over despite complaints from customers. The theater acts blasé about the whole thing; responses like ..."it doesn't matter it costs the same." "It's not a big deal, just go to the movie you want yo see." Really? Are we now fraudulently stacking our pockets and the critics pockets with "pretend" movie speakers. I thought thus was a simple error the first time, but for it to happen again a day later. On top of that friends have been posting in face book that they too have been having the same problem in other AMC theaters. I wonder what the actors and producers of them ivied people are actually watching feel about being jipped by AMC. (Lawrenceville, GA)
