Question re; Albertsons 'Wish Big, Win Big' sweepstakes. I received two game tickets and was able to fill in the 28 drawing sfor $1,000. It stated to affix them to a 3x5 index card, etc., etc. However, if I cut these out to paste them on the 3x5 card to mail them as an entry, the other cash prize symbols on the back will be ruined. Should be copy and send? Doesn't make any sense.
Let me start by saying that I ran to my closest grocery store to pick up a few items for my childrens school lunches on following day. It was a nice and cold rainy Sunday afternoon. I was dressed in a big sweatshirt, sweat pants and Ugg boots. I had my hair pulled back in a ponytail wearing no makeup , a perfect "lazy day". So needless to say, I was the most attractive girl walking the aisles in the store. When I was finished picking up my groceries, I headed over to the self check out area. I started ringing up my purchases through the self check out stands and glanced over to the waste paper basket next to the receipt dispenser and noticed a "free loaf of bread". So thinking to myself,"this would go perfect with my pasta dinner tonight" I reached into the basket and grabbed the coupon. I quickly ran and picked up the bread, rang it up and tried to scan the coupon and it wouldn't work. So I glanced over to the employee who was running the self check out area and noticed her name was Tracy. I had to wait a bit before I was able to get her attention. She was participating in "Checkstand Chatter" instead of paying attention to what was happening around her. When she acknowledged that I was in need of assistance, she promptly came over. I advised her that my coupon didn't scan correctly and that I needed help. She said," I'll scan that for you." So I handed her the coupon and she said to me with an attitude, " Ewwww, you spilled coffee all over your coupon". I replied, "Actually, I just got this out of the trash can and thought I'd use it". She quickly replied with a disgusted tone," THAT IS DISGUSTING!" I said, "Oh, come on, it is not." Tracy then scanned the coupon, punched in the appropriate override keys and handed me back the coupon and said," here put this in the coupon drawer, I don't want to touch that!". I then looked over the Tracy and said, you know, I don't normally dress or look like this....she replied," hmmmmm." This store representative made me feel like an unwanted homeless person. I left the store, packed the car and thought about this experience all the way home. I am in disbelief that a cashier spoke to me like that. In the past, I've worked in the grocery business for 15 years at Ralph's Grocery Company and actually worked at the location that use to be across the street at Navajo and Lake Murray. I would have never dreamed about saying anything like that to a customer. Now, It's one thing to think that to yourself and even perhaps share that later with a co-worker, but to say that to the actual customer just boggles my mind. I haven't worked in the grocery business for over 12 years now, but I can't imagine that things have changed so much as to speak disrespectively to a customer who in essences is paying "your" bills and helps feed "your" family. I still work in the customer service field but now for AT&T and our customer service slogan is "Raising the Bar". I hope that your company believes in "Raising the Bar" with "Albertson's customer service". Albertson's was my closest and favorite place to grocery shop until today. In all reality, I could have been a mystery shopper, Tracy had no idea of who I am or what is going on in my life. Does she know that my husband was laid off 3 months ago and I am now supporting my family with 2 teenage boys in a private high school with an active and expensive sports life? I think not. So maybe people in this day and age should think first before making judgement on others, treat people with kindness and be thankful they have a job. Shame on you Tracy! I have been a customer of Albertson's for over 15 years here in El Paso, Texas. The store is usually more expensive than other stores, but I liked not having to wait in line too long (they rarely have long lines). This weekend, November 5, 2011 Albertson's ran a big front page ad announcing a free Honeysuckle turkey with your purchase of $100 or more. At 8:45 PM tonight (Nov. 5)I went to the location on Montwood and Yarbrough. I started shopping and gathering up my $100 worth of items. When I got to the frozen turkey section the Honeysuckle turkeys were gone. They had been put on two small shelves, not longer than 4 feet long each. I thought it strange that the store would run such a prominent ad and only have those two small shelves...so I looked around the store for another freezer. I asked the guy at the seafood counter (who could have cared less) who told me they were gone. I looked around the store and there were no turkeys. I went to the check out counter and asked a clerk if they would do rain checks and he said that they would. I would have taken them up on the offer but remembered there was another store up the street so I left hoping I would find a turkey at the other location. Before I left I commented to the cashier that I was dissapointed that they ran such a large ad and had only had two small shelves (that you would stack Cool Whip on) on which they had featured their promotion. She could have cared less and did not even say "sorry". I drove 10 minutes to the Albertsons location at Montwood and George Dieter. It was 9:00 PM when I walked inside. I went straight to the frozen sections and saw a modest sized floor freezer that had Butterball Turkeys, but none of the advertised Honeysuckle. I went to the customer service counter and asked a young lady if they would honor rain checks on their advertised turkeys that they were out of. She politely said she was not sure but would call a Manager. She paged "Rose". Rose came up and the young lady asked her about the rain check while I was standing right there. Rose never once acknowledged me, nor looked at me, although she knew I was the customer because she kept refering to me in her conversation as if I were not there. She told the young lady that they would not honor rain checks and that "they owed nothing to anybody" and that "when they were gone, they were gone and that it was while supplies lasted." I jumped in the conversation for the fist time and said that the location on Yarbrough and Montwood would honor a rain check... to which Rose replied "then go there." And with that Rose turned her back on me and walked off saying "Thank you Sir" in a sarcastic tone. Both the young lady employee and myself stood there in amazement and disbelief as Rose walked away. I had not even caused a scene to have deserved this reaction. I commented that "I guess I just got told as the customer" and "what a bitchy attitude" I had just gotten from a Manager. The young lady apologized and seemed quite embarased. I thanked her for her kindness and left the store. I can say that Albertson's lost a loyal customer in me tonight. I will not be back. And what is more, they do not care. That is the real reason I am not going to spend my money with them anymore. Jeff
Okay, here is the deal. I truly believe that Albertsons customer service survey is making a difference in some employee attitudes. I hope that there is some real incentive here for the employees to go the extra mile. I admit that I typically shop at Fred Meyer because their produce is fresher and their meat department is typically better. They are also equipped with a Playland for my young children. Price also plays a factor in where I shop. Albertsons is ALWAYS overpriced. I'm sorry..but you are. Most of the time, I have good customer service from my local Albertsons at 20 Cherry Lane in Meridian ID. It isn't as convenient as the location near where my children go to school 4700 Eagle Road Boise. Hoooowever, I get nothing but grief when I visit the location on Eagle Road. At the Cherry Lane location, the clerks will try to help me out and remind me that they are having a "contest" and are high up in the valley for good customer reviews, so to please take the survey if I've had a good experience. Apparently the location on Eagle Road is not involved in this contest? They are rude, half of the time do not have the product, and have overcharged me and wasted my time. I have six children usually in tow, so my time is valuable. Having a large family also means I purchase a lot of groceries in a months time. You would think that the stores would want to keep me shopping there ?? I've had problems with some of the pharmacy staff at this particular Albertsons also. Again, that is a lot of revenue wasted because of poor poocustomer service. An example of poor customer service at this location recently consisted of me trying to use three internet coupons. I am not an EXTREME couponer or someone that typically uses a lot of coupons, but since there were double coupons I decided to pop into this Albertsons specifically to use these coupons. While there, I also found fifty dollars worth of other merchandise. I presented my coupons at the checkout and the clerk claimed that they were printed too lightly. I asked if that was a problem and he said he wouldn't accept them. The barcode was right there, the address was on the bottom of the coupon, ect. ect. The clerk wouldn't even TRY to scan the coupon. I was really frustrated because this of course did waste my time. The clerk asked his manager and she glanced at the coupons and said "do not take them". I have no idea why. So...I left and left my full fifty dollar purchase there at the checkout. Then, I took my coupons to Walmart. I typically don't shop at Walmart but I know they accept Albertsons doublers. I repurchased everything that I was going to purchase at Albertsons, used my manufactures internet coupons and three doubler coupons and paid HALF of what I was going to spend at Albertsons. LESSON LEARNED. Albertsons is too overpriced to deal with the hassle. Why do people want to shop Albertsons and be treated rudely and pay twice the price? My advice would be to get rid of your high priced gimmick promotions (lost leaders) and train your employees to be friendly and helpful.
Just wanted to get my employment dates for a resume. I have contact three other companies without a problem. Contacting Albertson's has halted my resume with a large difficult BS run around. For a company that is going under they sure do it with style...
Again, I am responding to Consuelo Lightner comment. You should read it again because you obviously do not understand English! Why is it fair to have everything written in English and Spanish when there are people here from all over the world. That is discrimination!!! I respect people that are here legally! If conditions are that bad for Hispanics as you stated, why did they stay? Perhaps even that was better than where they came from. You better realize that Americans are finally realizing the ramifications of this invasion and it will STOP! Get in line like everyone else! That's the law and that is fair no matter how you want to twist the truth. Try doing and saying what is right instead of you being prejudice because from your name, your Mexican!
I was doing a late night trip to the grocery store after a long day at work. I have been in the customer service industry for 12 years. As I was walking up to the checkout and I heard the cashier say something about someone’s looks and started laughing with another associate. I felt a little uncomfortable because I felt as if they could have been about me. I soon realized they were making fun of the bag boy and they pointed at him saying if he could go to college anyone could. When he walked up he asked what they were laughing at they got quite and Joaquin said "why would I be talking about you?!" Why do you think you are important?" Hey, do you look in the mirror and go like this?" (as he puckered his lips and kissed the air). The kid awkwardly smiled and laughed it off. Then Joaquin continued to harass him and say "You think you’re a good looking guy don’t you?" "Then you walk outside and realize it’s a harsh world." The entire time I was looking at the kids face as well as Joaquin’s face. You could see the belittlement in the kids face as he tried to shake and laugh it off. You could tell it wasn’t funny or harmless joking. I think he acted this way because I’m young and I don’t exactly look like someone who would complain or even care. I shook my head as Joaquin and I made eye contact and he quickly eased off the kid. His slang language tightened up and he change the subject to poking fun of himself. I paid, used my preferred card and went along my way. The bag guy asked if he could help me out to my car but I told him I got it. While putting my groceries in my car I couldn't believe I just witnessed. Utterly disgusted with how this grown adult treated his co-worker. I took my cart to the kid and said "Wow those guys seem like real ass-holes!" The kid put his head down, smiled, and said "it’s ok". On my way home it started to concern me more and more. If I was taking it incorrectly the kid would have said something more "like oh no those guys are just joking" or something to reassure me that I was wrong. I have seen many-a people being bullied and it happens from young ages through high school and college, up through the work environment. I too know what it’s like t dread working with specific individuals because of bullying. I didn’t even make it home before I decided to turn around and confront the issue with an on duty manager. When I got back to the store I asked for Joaquin. Another guy called him being that they were closing and he was closing the produce section. I told Joaquin that I was appalled with what I saw and that that should NEVER be what Albertsons customers should witness. He replied with "You don’t know what he acts like to us" I said I don’t care, I am a customer I should never know conflicts between workers!! "He said you don’t know him, why do you care!! If you have a problem here is the manager!!" and walked away. To my absolute astonishment the guy who was involved with the harassment was the on-shift management. My jaw actually fell open and he immediately started apologizing and said he realized it was wrong. He said that he is one of the relaxed managers and so sometimes the employees joke around with him. As I was talking with him and he was reassuring me that they would fix this problem, Joaquin came over to the register and started arguing with me about the situation!! The manager had to tell Joaquin to calm down and leave us!!!!!! I thanked the manager and stressed how uncomfortable and offensive my visit was and that I would be contacting the store manager.
Was getting a chicken dinner on multiple occasions. I was the only person in line on each occasion . I was completely ignored in order for for them to push product. I asked the person serving to please sort through the dry pasta. He proceeded to stir the pasta all together as if I never requested anything. Another time, the lady appeared as I were to much of a bother to even give me from the fresh batch of chicken. And insisted giving me old chicken. Same lady on a different occasion purposefully neglected to place the price tag on the order of food for a customer. Then as I was waiting on her to prepare my order, she made a remark about the previous customer. Soon after the customer prior to me had to return to get the price tag ... What a horrible attitude I have encountered from this store. Longwood Florida. 17/92 & 434 . I will never return to that store. Especially when Windixie is close by!!!!!!!!
Albertsons new preferred card system in really bad. They are pushing some kind of point system and not lower prices. The brands they mainly push now are there private labels. Going back to Ralphs and/or Vons
I used to work at the Albertsons located at 13031 Walsingham Road, in Largo FL.. It was my favorite job I've ever worked! I was sad when Publix bought out all of our stores.. for those of you who put down Albertsons, your's might suck, but don't judge them all!
I was in your local Overland and Orchard Store Boise Idaho and attempted to purchase Chicken from your service deli, I was repeatedly ignored by a person I believe was the manage, When she decided that being on her cell phone wasn't a good Idea when I saw her and maybe I was important she preceeded to be rude so I refused to let her help me and I walked away. I will never shop from that store again, I will just stick to my store in MH.
The Tujunga, CA Albertsons (6397) is usually okay. But now that everyones pissed and going on strike its horribe. The shelves look like shit, Theres cases of water all over the aisle, and Ive never been reated so rude by any cashier anywhere. This lady (Evie) rolled her eyes when I came into her aisle ( I didnt have a full cart or anything), She didnt even say hi to me, and she acted like it was some imposition to ring up my merchandise. Not to mention the bag girl, who jammed so many things in ach bag that the bags were either coming apart or spilling over. This is absolutely unacceptable.
I work at Albertsons#6159 in Carson, CA and I think I need to blow the whistle on this place. They have been selling alcohol to minors for years at this store. The store manager Jodie Carr is blind to this fact and all she cares about is the sales. Hopefully someone from corporate will read this and end this practice.
Mr. joe grammatico, store manager at albertsons fullerton is a very bad manager....foul mouth and racist!!!! Hes not fair to his employees and has a favoritism..i like to work there with my other employees but not my manager, i wish they would change and move him somewhere far.
I am very pleased that Albertsons in Mckinney Texas has decided to continue with the doubling of coupons in my area as of tomorrow kroger will no longer honor doubling of coupons so I have boycotted them and gave my buisness to albertsons! I really hope Albertsons continues to do the right thing and not let big buisness overrule!!
Upon entering the Albertsons I shop at least 2 times per week, with heavy shopping bags in my hand from other earlier errands. I noticed there were no shopping carts available at any/either of the entrances. I mentioned this to a cashier as he walked by me back to his checkout stand. His answer was.."were out" with no further comment whatsoever. Such as...were working on it, or it may be just a minute etc... I really needed a cart and he was inconsiderate and curt. I did find a cart and went thru his checkstand with my purchase. I told him that obviously I knew they "were out" of carts and that i was trying to help by pointing it out to someone. He said ...I was with a customer...which was not accurate he was actually walking by me. I would not have interrupted him in the middle of a transaction. I told him he was of no help and who is the manager...to which he replied himself. So at this point I told him his customer service skills were unacceptable and unprofessional. And that I would need to contact corporate...upon which he responded...make sure u spell my name right. Really is this the kind of respect or verbal exchange I deserve as a customer that was just initially pointing out the fact that there are no shopping carts available? He has given me no choice but to take this further up the chain of command, Thank you Julio C from Albertsons on 14th and Market in San Diego.
Well, I can see from reading the above comments that Albertsons, LLC or New Albertsons or whatever they call themselves these days to escape their "reputation" has a LONG history of treating their employees badly. The so-called operations mgr, Pat Britt at the Midland, TX store treats her employees as though she were running a prisoner re-hab program. She gives them NO credibility, is RUDE, has Poor communication skills, and an over-all UN-CARING, UN-FRIENDLY manner to both employees and customers. I am SURE she is just the product of Albertson's poor training program, and employee satisfaction environment. However, her dealings with employees puts this Albertson's store in jeopardy of EEOC violations. Working 9 hour shifts with NO covered meal break, insisting sick employees come into work, NOT properly training them in State alcohol and liquor purchase laws. She is a TRUE asset. NOT!! The sooner the rest of the Albertson locations are purchased by companies like HEB, & Target, the sooner we rid this area of the idiots.
I would have selected a "pitch fork" instead of 1 star; had one been optional. It is obvious that Albertsons Corporate Headquarters has a lot to hide. No contact e-mail available. NO one at the store that will give out a corporate phone#. Way to do business, just close your doors and do us all a favor. I am sure the BBB is getting tired of hearing about all your bulls--t.
The store in Midland, TX has a store director, Tony Zuniga that needs to go back to his own country because he apparently doesnt understand English, the language of the USA. Whenever concerns are brought to him he passes them off to other incompetent managers and supervisors under him as though he didn't understand what you told him. He allows these other managers and supervisors to abuse employees and customers with NO correction or concern. It's HEB for me all the way; I will never sit foot in that Andrews Hwy store again.
Tim thats all I know of his name is the best checker I have ever encountered at any of your stores in Las Vegas and I have been to all the Albertsons here in las Vegas he works at the one at town center. I suggests you keep in on and do everything in your power to make sure he continues to work for you no matter what I have lived in this Valley for more then 20 years and have extensive family as well as many many friends that shop at Albertsons also. Thank you for your time Mrs. Cassie Robinson
