I work for advance and policy is two team members in store when open . Well I was left alone for 45 minutes by my GM . He is just starting back after a few years of being gone. I am new to the store and area and I do not appreciate my life being put at risk. Terrible company to work for. Im thinking about quitting.

Don't honor online prices

I am very disappointed with customer service from advance auto parts! If you have a price listed you should honor that price. It shouldn't be the customers loss because you have incompetent people working for you. I have been a good customer for the past 10 years and to be told you won't honor your prices is just ridiculous, I will no longer be buying my auto parts at advance.

I purchased a compressor from advance and paid 200$ labor and once installed found out I was sold a bad compressor. Advanced representatives told me I could only exchange b a d compressor and they couldn't repay my labor fees due to their bad compressor. I even called corporate and was told you can only dispute labor if you are a commercial customer. How fair is that??!!

Lifetime warranty.

We had purchased some brakes at a local advance they have a lifetime warranty and when my husband went to take them back they would not exchange them because they said they were bought at a different advance so there was nothing they could do about it. The nice manager at another store which was not advanced swapped out the brakes for us so that my husband would have our truck to drive to work the next morning. I will not buy from another advance auto parts even if I have to sit on the side of the road all night.

Valparaiso Indiana Store

I remeber that it wasn't but a couple of years ago that it was a pleasure to go to the Valpo Store. The incompetant people you now have working there are pathetic and don't know the parts very well. I remember when that store was the hub of them all. I have to go to the Chesterton Store now. Michigan City is as bad.

No Refund !!

I ordered lugnuts; paid on a debit card; was told I could pick them up 3 days later. I then tried to cancell the order and they would not do this. As a professional in the automotive field neither I nor my affilliates will do bussiness with such unscupulous people. This was locates in Avalon; Pa. I will never buy anything from Advanced again. Poor bussiness manners. Horrible store.

After more then 20yrs i'm done!

I have been an avid customer for over 20 years. I bought a distributor cap and rotter button not even 7 months ago with a lifetime warranty an lo an behold I go to get it replaced today and because the manager of the store did not do his job and put my phone number in when he sold them to me I was told they couldn't exchange them. Even though the exact amount that i paid for them was shown on their screen. I nor my family and friends will EVER waste our time or money there again!! Timberville, Va.

horrible to work for

I am an employee and the micro management is ridiculous. Upper management spends too much time worrying about selling 5 dollar customer items of the month than keeping the customers happy. The constant nagging about your not doing this right nor that right is causing unneeded stress and unhappy employees. Lay off and let us serve our customers. Get a reality check.

Brake Warranty

After 3 years the information for warranty is purged from the computer. You must keep the receipt if you expect a refund or exchange. Little known info until you try to claim a warranty. Also the receipts fade away so you really need to make a photocopy. Will never buy Advanced again.

One year warranty??????

I purchased a bearing in April 2012 and had to take back and exchange it because it went bad in one week. Here we are again in February replacing the same bearing but was told it was out of warranty because we exchanged the first one and put the warranty to 90 days. when exchange was done, no one informed us of this change in warranty. Will purchase from Napa or Auto Zone. At least they are honest and provide all information needed.Sophia WV

2001 Minivan new Heads

I just pick up what is suppose to be new heads for my minivan in closely examining them I could see right were the old exhaust gasket use to be. Than my warranty states that if the heat tab is melted or turned colors it voids my warranty This heat tab was put on the corner of heads by my exhaust port which at full running temperature the exhaust gets 300 degrees and my warranty is voided any temperature above 200 degrees. So soon as my van gets to operating temperature my warranty will be voided due to it placement which too close to the exhaust port.

Is this a joke?

I'l be calling the main customer service as well.. I ordered a few things online for store pickup later that night. I got there, and aside from the smell of cigarette smoke all over, the phone ringing of the hook, customers staring at an empty counter.. It was finally my turn, the young kid with a silly straight rim non-work ball cap and pants around his butt said the parts I ordered were out-of-stock, and that he sucked at his job and didn't really care. I could ask the manager, outside smoking for help. I asked, he finished his butt, then came in and found my parts a few minutes later. I also saw them tell the lady in front of me, that "They don't make replacement wipers for your Honda Pilot"..seriously?! The whole store nees to be canned, from the worthless manager, to the kid who deosn't care, and even the drivers who take all the closet spots so the customer has to walk further.. I think I'll go to Autozone, less than a mile away and equidistant from my house..

not good on motor warrenty

I purchased a motor through advance auto 3years or a100 thousand mile warrenty motor blew head gaskets at 20,000 miles had to replace motor and warrenty states have to pay and they will reimburst afterwards have not heard aword out them yet truck has been back on road since oct. Really disapointed with them

Sarasota/Bradenton Fl. stores are mismanaged and employ a staff of people that hate there jobs, they don't get it..they lack customer service skill and are arrogant, you get the feeling your doing them a favor by shopping in there stores, bad attitude, useless employees

Honoring of Warranty and Customer Service

The Store in Roxboro,North Carolina has sorry customer service.I bought a altenator in June of last year and it went bad.Went to replace it today January 11, 2013. The guy in there today said it would be the last time they would replace it. These people do not know if the part will perform 100% accurate,new and remanufactured parts still can go bad. How are you going tell somebody who put their hard earn money into a part,that you paid almost 200.00 for that it will be the last time that you will be able to exchange the alternator. i have bought many parts from you all. I will be shopping at Autozone and Oreilly's for now on.

Quality of service and knowledge

Store number 2318 on Rigsby avenue in San Antonio TX I continue to drive a little further to do business with this store Because of there positive attitudes and knowlege. I have been a mechanic for 10 plus years and have not once had this store try to Tell me false information as other parts stores have. The previous and current managers are great to me and will always go the extra mile to help with my needs. All parts associates I have worked with there always find me the right parts and fast. These guy deserve some extra recognition (or pay everyone loves that) for a awesome job. Not all stores have this kind of quality the ones that shine need the recognition they have worked hard for. I have been doing buisness with this auto parts store since they built the building before it was advanced believe me it has gone down hill since they took over I cant get a proper discount for my buisness because I dont spend 500 dolllars a week there just want to know how can you spendd 500 dollar a week in a hobbie shop if they stop watching Auto Zone and followed them they would be better off they should try to be a leader instead of a followerI have a fleet of 20 vehicles and I try to buy parts for them at advanced but cant because they can only supply hobbie shops if they handled truck parts they would hurt Auto zone and serpass them but thats thinking for your self and being a follower instead of a leader would be to much to handle that is why the company is for sale

Advance Auto is very dishonest. I found out that when you purchase a lifetime warranty, it only stays in their system for 2 years then drops off. So if you want to keep from being shammed and re-buying things that should be under warranty you have to keep a file. Fair warning to all who shop. Keep your receipts and watch. FYI Auto Zone is linked world wide and they keep their warranties on file for lifetime.......

product knowledge

I went to the Nashville store about two months ago to get front turn signal bulbs for a 2002 f250. I was told that the bulb needed was a clear bulb(3157). I told the person(not a parts person) that I was sure I needed a amber (3157a) bulb. Stood me down that it was a clear bulb.I then went by the same store again and had the person walk out to the truck and again he said it was a clear bulb. After two month I decided to put them in. I took the len off and there was amber bulbs in the lens and yes I was pissed. I just went back to the store to ask if i could exchange the bulbs and was told no because I had installed the bulbs. I told them I installed them because they said it was the correct bulb. I asked for another set of 3157a and was told there wasnt a bulb like that. I looked at a 3057a and she told me they wouldnt fit. Bought them anyway and installed them and everything worked correctly.Checked the internet sites and and it said that the bulbs were compatible. If they have a problem with light bulbs, sensors would be a nightmare. Isnt it amazing that the cripted word to send this was PURGATORY.
