I fueled at the Dallas, Oregon store intending to pay cash, 5 people came after me and were served first (Diesel is a further walk). I waited until the pump had clicked off and I counted, 7 cars were taken care of with no one shutting off my pump. I walked the 200 feet back and shut it off myself...When I got back to the store to pay I complained, low key. The young man said talk to my manager, she's right there. She had been keeping her head down, when confronted she shrugged her shoulders. I'll give names and store numbers to SW HQ, but I will not be back. I have spent many thousands in fuel since they put in their pumps.

Your Bay Point Ca, store needs serious help. I have shopped at Safeway for 30 years and spend about $10,000 a year. Last night was the final straw. (8:40 pm) 2 Checkstands with over 20 people in each line waiting. Almost made it to the back of the store,pretty sad. I asked for a Manager and was told Manager just went to Lunch. ???? Should have stepped up to relieve pressure. I used my other option which is RALEYS. sad to change , but this is not the first time I walked out to go to a store with better customer service.

My complaint is aimed at the deli dept. at the White Center/Roxbury store in Seattle, Wa. I went in the other day and while waiting for my order to be finished, I noticed that they had "spicy chicken tenders" for $.99lb. I told the employee I would take what he had left. It was the that he looked and said that they were $4.99lb. I remarked that it said $.99lb, and he told me it was a mistake. I said I did'nt care, I wanted them for the price marked. Then a older woman employee got snotty, and with more than a few people standing around, took the little price sign, moved it, and said "here, its says $4.99lb" I told her yes it does, now that you've changed it, so call the manager. Apparentley he had already been called by the first employee. I took the phone and told him I wanted it for the advertised price and he said no. I am almost 60, and have been a customer of Safeway for more years than I can remember, but when he said that I said I would stop shopping there, he said "fine". WHAT NERVE!!! ..goodbye Safeway, hello QFC & Albertsons!

Once again. Seems Safeway is the only store that always makes mistakes, to their advantage, when I shop there. Last time I called the store, nothing. I did not shop at Safeway for almost a year. Today(4/30/11), I decide to try again at the Safeway in Sacramento on Arden/Watt. Store #1530 and I'll be damned, happens again! I purposely purchased a package of Salmon because it read 50% off price. The price was $6.43, I was charged $6.43 instead of $3.22. I do not feel like going back to the store, I know calling them would do no good..again. Last time I had planned to have shrimp for dinner and they left the shrimp out of my bags. When I called they told me it had been left on the counter, unbagged. I GIVE up! No more Safeway for me and most of my family.

I live in Aptos. I wanted to bring to Safeway's attention that each time I use my ATM card to pay for my purchase I am SOLICITED for money. Yes! SOLICITED! Before I can enter my PIN number I am asked if I would like to donate to "persons with disabilities", no doubt a worthy cause. This is a solicitation. I MUST answer this solicitation before I can complete my transaction.I wonder how Safeway would react if every time I made a purchase I solicited their clerks for money for a worthy cause as well? This morning the clerk responded, "all you have to do is press 'no'"--that isn't the point. Maybe Safeway should provide a line that has no solicitations similar to the 'candy free' lane for parents of young children? No one likes to be bombarded with solicitations. Cheers,

The Safeway store in Engleside Plaza, Route 1 in Alexandria, VA. is the poorest run store ever. I have been there four times to their olive bar looking for Calamata pitted olives. I have asked the clerk in the deli why they don't ever have any and am told come back Monday. I go back and still none. I asked the assistant manager and get the same answer, "They're on order." If they have been asked repeatedly and still don't have any, you would think they would look into the matter rather than giving excuses. I have been to other towns where other stores have olive bars and they are kept clean, neat and stocked. When I went to check out, there was only ONE check-out cashier and a long line. I have shopped at that Safeway for over 30 years and watch it go down hill constantly.

I just left the safeway gas station in Sacramento (natomas) del Paso Rd. And the staff was extremely rude and disrespectfull, they told me I couldnt pump gas there and to get my piece of shit car out of there! I will never ever again buy groceries or gas from any safeway store or franchise! It all started when they refused to accept a 50 dollar bill to purchase 20 dollars of gas when they denied me and told me to walk all the across the parking lot into the store to get change and then return. I cant believe the experience I just had at the safeway gas station it was horrible! I will let everybody i know from friends to family not shop at any safeway store anymore!!! I will def.. file a complaint with the better business bureu, cant file one with safeway because they wont do nothin about it!

I have been shopping at the Safeway on Shoreline Dr. in Alameda,Ca. 94501 for over 15yrs., a while back the store got a new manager named, SENAD ZAGOVIC this man is rude, incompetent and could care less about his customers or employees. I am beyond upset! Given my disability it is the most conveinent store for me to shop at, yet since the above named mgr. took over the shelves are not stocked, there isn't anyone to assist you, employees (especially the mgr. are EXTREMELY rude). I have tried for so long to inquire as to why the store is so poorly stocked or why they can't get the items in that have been out for way too long & no one cares or can give me an answer.I spend alot of money in this store & am treated horrible and now can't even get 1/2 the items on my list,especially the sale items are NOT stocked enough to cover the sale! There is a space and bar code for these items but the shelf is empty OVER & OVER AGAIN!Aren't stores suppossed stock their back warehouse & main warehouses with items they carry? Or if it's a vendor item then ORDER it. PLEASE I want some help & a resolution. It's hard enough to afford groceries these days but is it too much to ask to have your shelves stocked & to treat people like decent human beings that CARE about good customer service? I expect a response and I expect you send someone of authority to do a secret check on this store and see for yourself how poorly it looks, stock availabilty and courtesy!!

REFRESH WATER: YOU HAVE TAKEN THE CARDBOARD BASE OFF THESE 24 PACK OF WATER CAUSING SEVERE DAMAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE PLASTIC BOTTLES. THEY GET DENTED AND WON'T STAND UP. YOU STACK THEM ON TOP OF EACH OTHER, THROW THEM AROUND WHEN PUTTING THEM IN OUR CARS AND IT IS CAUSING EVEN MORE PROBLEMS. YOU NEED TO PUT THE CARDBOARD BACK, AND NOT GOUGE US FOR DOING IT, SO THE BOTTLES WILL BE PROTECTED; IF NOT WE WILL GO ELSEWHERE FOR OUR BOTTLED WATER AND WE BUY 10 CASES AT A TIME WE ARE ON A WELL WHERE WE LIVE SO ARE OUR MANY SURROUNDING NEIGHBORS WHO PATRONIZE THIS STORE.

I am so frustrated with the supervisors and staff at safeway stores, my fathers 72 a lawyer and pyschian. For starters... Management in the Lovejoy and 13th store in Portland or. Are alway rude. And obnoxious... Both staff and supervisors stand around.. When there are Lines of customers. With usually only one register open management and staff always talking to each other instead of focused on their jobb CUSTOMERS........ come first...... Next I have had multiple at least 8 interviews sit down interviews both at the lovejoy location as well as the 10th and jeffereson location in Portland OR I have worked for nordsteoms cafe, as a waiter for ten years, including customer care, and cashiering. As well as starbucks. My question is why what does it take. I have my masters... In early childhood I've worked with children and parents. For years. But for some ridiculous reason safeways don't think I'm qualified. In highschool for five years I was a courtesy clerk as well worked in the deli bakery. last week I had what would be my ninth interview at the third location Safeway 10th and Jefferson, supervisor lenyel (the interview was on wed, she said it be ok to check back on fri) I never heard back, I called back the falling mon morning she hung up on me she said the position was still open, but I didn't get it... She was really rude on the phone.. There was no need for the rudeness I was checking on my status thats all ( I be noticed safeways staff is extremely rude I mean this in the deepest respect. It is not corporate corporate has been very inderstanding with me. The have listened.. For starters, I have had multiple job interviews, with safeway I have a masters in early childhood. I'm a preschool teacher. I have 10 plus years retail experience working from nordstroms cafe and a grocery store. In all the departments... ( I have now had) five separate lengthy interviews each I had dressed very well suit and tie. Applying for courtesy clerk. But no responses. With as much experience.and as rude. As they staff is my family shops in the Safeway the management is always standing talking to each other the staff always requesting time off. Last week when my father was purchasing groceries he approached a supervisor Asked ( why is there only one register open at 9 am he said they tried calling people on everyone called in he explained how I was trustworthy hard worker reliable and have gone through multiple interviews and yet all the time they have people standing around or need extra help. I had an interview a few days ago i think a result of complaining to corporate I have had now five sit down interviews, I guess my question remains each time my family goes in the staff is rude and stands around asking to leave the management are awaits standing chatting instead of helping customer problems. I'm writing this for a number of reasons. My family shops, in Safeway, my names Andrew Chabon. I have had multiple interview's for different departments, inluding courtesy clerk customer care deli etc, I have worked in retail for many year up to twelve years plus, I worked I a grocery through highschool. As a courtesy clerk and customer care, I worked at nordstroms cafe for nine years as a waiter, and cashier. Time after time when my parents have shopped at safeway the management and staff have been standing around. Chatting with each other manangement aways look puzzled or confused, instead of putting their focus on the CUSTOMER'S .... Which are ALWAYS #1.... Working at nordstroms I used to awaits get compliments on great customer care. I have had multiple interview, for positions courtesy clerk, but no call back. My father was shopping las week, he approached a supervisor asking why is there a line and one register open? His reply was we tried calling people in half our staff called in... He said does that sound.. He then said my son, me .. Used to work with nordstroms for years Nine years as a cashier an waiter. As well as a prepcook. My father told the manager said half your staff calls in , you yourself have to stay on the register , because you don't have any one the supervisor agreed he says ya I know. On three separate occasions, I have not gotten my gasoline discount despite spending over $50. on groceries at participating locations. Moreover, each time I follow-up with your customer service department, I get a different excuse -- the computers were down, my card/phone number is out of the area, etc. At this point, I'm beginning to believe this is some kind of "bait and switch" tactic. I have spent an inordinate amount of time already attempting to rectify these errors, have gone out of my way to shop at your stores and have spent more than the required amount. My time is too valuable for such nonsense and the small discount is certainly not worth all the effort! Thus, I will no longer shop at Safeway stores and will encourage others to do likewise. Your store in Frisco, CO has great em[loyees but those in management who work the customer service desk really are rude - I have shopped at Safeway when I lived in Kansas, Arizona, Maui & Colorado and have been at for 49 years. I have always loved Safeway but that management team MUST GO! A woman refused to refund the cost for 2 dozen eggs during the recall to my husband until I walked into the store and she loooked at my angry face. Last week (Dec 6, 2010) an asian guy refused to refund on one pkg of doritos (with the receipt) as a piece of straw? was in the bag. He said its Frito Lay's problem and you will have to contact them. We said maybe we'll not shop here any more and he said, "Its OK we don't care.) Jean Cherrington

The Safeway on Hwy 303 and McWilliams in East Bremerton, WA. Silly little complaint. Ordered the Chinese feast for my family at the deli. The feast comes with 4 egg roles. There were only 4 egg roles left. A gentlemen comes in, after I had already placed my order, and orders a Chinese Supreme which also comes with 1 egg role. The older lady waiting on me asked if I wanted a substitute now that there was only 3 egg roles. I said, what's the deal, I was here first and that I didn't want a substitute. The other lady gave one of the egg roles to her customer leaving me with 3 and a 10 minute wait for the 1 egg role that was mine to start with. The other gentlemen gave up the egg role as it wasn't important to him. Both of these older ladies made such a big deal about his gracious act. They went out of their way to make me feel like shit because I only wanted what I ordered and didn't want a substitute. I talked to the night manager who tried to convince me that I should have been the bigger man and settled for a substitution. The night manager and the older ladies working the deli at the Safeway on Hwy 303 and McWilliams in East Bremerton, WA should be retrained on common customer service. Maybe this is a small deal but I only wanted what I ordered which was available when I ordered it. I should apply for a regional manager position and fire them all. How dare they make a customer feel like shit when all he wanted was what he ordered. I shop at Safeway all the time. I won't purchase anything at the deli again. One bad experience at Safeway almost makes me want to go to Albertsons. If only they had the same deal on gas.

I went to the Corte Madera Shopping Center Safeway to purchase a Deli sandwich for lunch. I was treated so bad by the Deli staff. I had asked for a sandwich with ham and salamei Vincente the deli staff actually charged me an additonal $1.00 for extra meat that he did not take the time out to weight I complain and was treated very poorly by the deli staff and not to mention I am african american and all the Deli staff were hispanic's. After my second and thrid visit to this safeway I question myself and ask if this could be racial profiling. It mad me feel very uncomfortable. Safeway is a big food chain.
