If I could give a 0 for a rating I would! I had my home furnishings put into Public Storage (In Metrowest area on Kirkman Rd in Orlando FL) with climate control paying over $170 PER month & ended up getting bedbugs in my furniture which is now costing me a ton to try to get rid of plus abut 5 weeks of my time! Public Storage should be paying the $2400. I now have 2 pay for a pest service to rid me of this issue!

I had a storage unit 9036 Glenoaks Blvd in Sun Valley, California. When I got the unit it was going to only be for 1 month as my brother would switch to another unit when he got back in town. This is when the nightmare began. I was contacted 3 days before the end of the contract and told that I had until the 30th of the month to make a payment otherwise a 25.00 lien would be added as well as a 12.00 late fee, keep in mind that this was on the 06/26/2012. I kept the message because I was on location that day and of sound mind thought great I can deal with this the next day. NOT!! not only were they going to charge me a late fee on the 27th but the manager Betty Pompatma refused to give me the District Managers name or corporate information, instead she gives me a 800 number to call to have the late fee of now 25.00 removed. My brother goes to the unit on the 28th removes everything from th unit and wants to get his own unit and is told that the $1 deal no longer is effective? Its on the outside of the building? He does not have enough money to pay for the unit and is forced to sell his sheet metal equipment, over 1 ton of equipment and can not me moved easily at all. The customer service we received from Betty was less then professional. I would not recommend using this particular location.

I have been with this company for 12 years and always pay my bill several weeks early to stay in good standing. Over the years, I have found that there is absolutely no customer service, and even regional directors will not return calls. They don't return calls because they do not want to hear that their rates are too high. Every single year, the rates go up to a ridiculously high rate. For example, for the last 2 years, my rate increased $50 PER MONTH and included that there would be %50.20 late fee charged if this bill was not paid on time. I found out that every Public Storage location has the right to charge whatever they want, and in the days of a struggling economy, this is ridiculous. I plan to write the Better Business Bureau, and I encourage all of you to do the same and to call your Attorney General to let them know of Public Storage's inexcusable high rates compared to other companies. They have no heart, no customer service, no understanding of extenuating family circumstances, and just plain do not care. The turnover in these offices is constant. All they care abut is getting their money. My Public Storage understands that due to unforeseen health concerns, I am unable to move my stuff out of storage at this time, and they just do not care. The new raise in rates stands no matter what. The Austin TX locations need to be able to have someone in customer serve at the Regional level (at least) respond to our needs immediately. I know several Austin customers who are considering lawsuits due to this unfair rate practice, especially in such low economical times. TAKE A LOOK AT ALL THESE POOR REVIEWS. If corporate headquarters bothered to look at them, they would do something about these poor business practices. It should be illegal at the very least. I suppose as long as they get their ever increasing paycheck, they continue to ignore their customers.

I have been unemployed for awhile now and came across a listing for a district manager position in orlando,florida. I applied, took all the on-line tests and passed. I received an email asking me to contact a certain person to set up an intervie.....This guy... named Jeff Cook based in atlanta, georgia, who is the human resource hiring manager for district managers and above told me on the phone.....are you ready????? We as a company are looking for local talent and do not consider people from other states!!!!!!! I expressed vehemently to him that i already had a permanant address available only about an hour away from orlando and that i would indeed absorb all re-locations expenses and pay for my trip to florida to speak with someone!!!!! I explained that my wife and i discussed in great detail this job and decided she would stay in nc for as long as needed to sell our home,etc..... Now, you would think a company would love the chance to hire someone that is willing to pay all expenses, work 60 plus hours a week and begin immediately!!! NOT PUBLIC STORAGE!!! I even tried to contact the vp of operations and the vp of human resources and they have both ignored me??????How can you operate a company like that in today'e environment, turn away such dedicated people and then ignore them?????? PLEASE BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!! I truly wanted to relocate to florida to be closer to family and thought the company was sound and employee friendly......It looks like i was wrong....not even a email or phone call from the big wigs

yesterday my storage got auction.Its in my brother Joshua name due to us living together and him going to prison. I became power of attorney over unit E036 in Arlington Texas. Here's my story. We went a 10 by 30 unit in Arlington Texas in September and the General manage there said in October but he is in corrected. I was behind 1 month as of the Th of every month and i Paid the unit online with my debit same one every month that they could have direct withdrawn since i was in the hospital last week calling every day i Got no notice no phone call because there property got rid of Curtis he was a good manager then after they said he took a early retirement everything there went down hill I always pay from the 29Th THUR the Th of every month I'm totally disabled thermally ill that is. after receiving nothing from them I new i had to call them so I started calling every day for a week in a half. day before yesterday I called in twice well they said that they tried to call us no they did not. the home number is shut off we lived in the same place and just moved in a new one was going to pay all that was due and new I had until the Th of June by the Texas code &&59.00 15 days after the letter there suppose to send the 2ND of every month if your last which I would have been 1 month late. And after the Th of the month it would go up once again I clearly told them when I was being released from the hospital and I would be in to pay them 150 yesterday them on Friday another 150. and come Monday the rest of the 116. then pulling the unit out to our new home. Being power of attorney on all of my brothers fairs I'm much more than a emergency contact and every month back from September I've always gotten letters the address has been already change4d and the office was notified is a matter of fact I talked with the new Manager of this property she informed me last pay period I was up 40. how did this happen well lets see i just told my story and after talking to John Ramsey I was told that I moved in the moved in in October false info and that I never had my balance clear of owing false again every month from the 29Th Thur the Th i will always have my bill paid I always pay online or call so they make another 20 extra off of me as well every month I use the same debit card. the property clearly knows I'm disabled and thermally ill but the general manager jumped the gun n. I'm having a class suit filed on Arlington 303 because not only have i lose the only household i have and my daughter Hailey husband passed 1 years and a half ago all his belongs were in there as well i was told that i was call so the the call log's show no attempts ion there part I received no notices so they have no right because they are clearly involution to the Texas code&&59.00 plus discriminating AGAINST A DISABLED WOMEN WHO HAS POWER OF ATTORNEY OF THIS MATTER AND THERE FILES BEING SO BAD THAT THEY HAVE ALL CORRECT INFORMATION ON THIS MATTER. when i TALKED WITH caddie WHO WAS IN THE OFFICE YESTERDAY SHE CLEARLY STATED Mr John Ramsey FAILED TO CALL ME AND THEY AUCTIONED IT HE ONLY LISTENED TO ALL MY MESSAGE I've BEEN LEAVING ONLY MADE A POOR POOR JUDGEMENT CALL ON "FALSE INFORMATION TO A ACTING CLIENT "POWER OF ATTORNEY" ON UNIT E036. if you my know the person that bought this unit and if the General Manager and public Storage doesn't make this event right I will take it to all Measures and Mr Ramsey should step down. I will go there and place a note on the unit for the person that just bought a unit that should have never been sold and try to buy it back but I want everyone out there in the USA to know this is done all the time to people like me. Amazing. Talked with customer service. Could not believe the treatment I received. I ask to speak to her supervisor and she said the President gave authority to do everything and she "Bee" refused to give me anyone to talk to.. I have over 23,000 clients throughout the US and plan to voice my feelings about PUBLIC STORAGE ONE OF THE WORSE PUBLIC COMPANIES I HAVE EVER SEEN

Have used public storage for over five years now . While Virgina in the office is very nice and my bill is paid on time, the rent on the two units I have keep on going up . It seems unfair to the ones that keep on using u . And the late fees of 55.40 per unit is crazy . I had to pay that once for being one day late . Not crazy about moving my stuff at this time but it looks like I need to find another storage company to do business with . I have had a raise on my units twice this year and that is wrong .

NASTY DUMP AKA 2109 Ogden Ave Lisle Public Storage.... DO NOT USE!!! Myself and my neighbor shared a 10x30 unit for a year here..... Let me just say for the amount of money they charged over the year with rate increases...we had to pay for the dumpster removal of half the contents!!! WET WET MOLDY & WET! This place has no security, rude idiots in the office (if you happen to catch them there???) and water seeping in the walls, floors & roof! This company would rather be slum lords than actually fix any of the problems? The manager said it was humid, but it had been raining and I could see the water dripping in from the roof?! I'm not stupid, I can see soaking wet walls, floors and water coming in thru the roof?! I couldn't believe the amount of poor reviews I found online after this horrible incident? I was in such a hurry to rent a storage locker that I went with the place that had the lowest prices and didn't think to research online first. I will never make that mistake again. I am telling everyone I am related to, work with & am friends with to never rent from public storage AKA SLUM LORDS!!! Giant company that only cares about there profit margin and hates their customers! Their employees hate their jobs as much as they dislike their customers... aweful & rude customer service! Broken down nasty storage!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! You have other options. Search for them or you will regret it if you cannot make your payment on time. Absolutely awful experience. Dishonest workers making concessions for friends including storing abandoned cars on premises. Unethical, greedy workers that give young people a bad name. Horrible customer service, rude manager. This company is just one of many that are shamefully keeping the unemployed and broke down and unable to get out of drowning in debt with disgusting rip-off fees. When you can charge a desperate, out-of-work mother of six $122 in late fees in a matter of two days you have zero conscience. Disgusting.

This company has the worst service I have experience and I work for a major prescription drug plan company. You have someone wanting to be argumentive over the fact that your company qouted the wrong price for storage space. This rep that represent your company accusing me for not asking a question for the price of a lock when you call me well I'm working to say I'm calling to confirm your appointment not that price I show in the system is inaccurate. I had a unit as of today. I was told that my items were sold at auction with no notification from them. I have had my unit for over a year and any auction they have had was always on the first of the month. I'm not upset that my furniture, clothes was sold I'm upset because my kids pictures are gone forever and items from my deceased aunt are gone.

I'm looking to start a class action lawsuit against Public Storage as well...although, it's not for overdraft fees or whatever this blog is about. I just ended up here. I've been with Public Storage for five years and recently went to retrieve something from my unit. I opened my storage unit door to find the grand-daddy of all cockroaches just sitting there on top of one of my boxes. And he was very much alive and kicking. I additionally found that the inch-thin styrofoam ceiling had been chewed through and pushed down. There were rat droppings EVERYWHERE and a wicker rocking chair had been torn and shredded apart for nesting material for rats...being as there was rat droppings all over that chair and thin shavings shredded off into a pile. Several boxes had holes chewed through the bottoms and many of the garbage bags that hold my clothes (ran out of boxes and suitcases to store clothes in) were also chewed through. I filed a claim with the Public Storage insurance company and just received the forms for me to fill out today. It says, "Your certificate of storage insurance provides limited coverage for damage caused by Rodents/Vermin with a limit of $250.00" Um, that will cover my chair... Who is going to pay for the bombs I'm going to need to set off to kill all of the nasty bugs? Who is going to pay for all the new boxes I am going to have to purchase to transfer anything that is even salvageable so that i don't bring cockroach and rat nests back to my house? Who is going to pay for the personal protective gear I am going to have to purchase in order to go through all of my stuff so that I don't contract some disease? Who is going to pay for me to move all of my stuff? In the meantime, I am still having to pay the outrageous bill every month...the bill that gets raised every year. I am literally paying Public Storage to ruin my stuff. I am completely outraged and furious. Public Storage has a responsibility to their tenants to provide adequate pest control. My unit does not contain any stored food, etc. as per their requirements...yet anyone can and probably does store food. If anyone is having a pest control problem (rodents, roaches, spiders, etc.) and would like to join a class action suit against them, please contact me. RaiderWellie@yahoo.com

The public storage located on 1985 potrero grande DRIVE in monterey park, ca will ripped you off. The property manager named marizol is very rude, unprofessional and will charge you double for the administration fees. She will NOT help you get the most out of your storage. She will charge you for every little things. all in all, there are alot of roaches, mice, AND rats but the propert manager Marizol will do nothing about it. Beware because after you rent the storage, she will increase your rent and give you a very hard times.

NO THE SPELLING IS CORRECT. I PAID MY BILL AND THEIR PEOPLE WHO RE-ENTER MY CHECKING ACCT NUMBER INTO THEIR SYSTEM MESSED UP. I have been a renter for at least 20 years. I have used it to store papers and drawings only. I visited my locker yesterday and found to my dismay that the roof leaked and several of my file boxes were soaked to uselessness and almost all of the drawings rolls were wet on the bottom (they were stored vertically) and had to be thrown out. The young lady in the office acknowledged there was a leak (the roofer came in right before me) and said there was nothing they could do. I could move the contents to another locker at my expense including hiring my own help to do so. A simple "I'm sorry for your inconvenience" since the damage was already done, but that is beyond the intelligence of the help I have encountered over the years. Even though I have continued to reduce the contents and get smaller spaces, the cost always goes up as they tell me they need the increase to keep up the level of service I have been getting. Since the level of service has been so horrible at the higher rates, maybe they should reduce the rates. I know that PS is all over, but I will be getting out ASAP, and suggest that others check out other storage companies before they subject themselves to the stupidity and insensitivity that seems from most of the other reviews, a hallmark of this corporation.

Although Public Storage had the best rates when I contracted with them, they have raised my rates twice since then-once a year. I contacted them to tell them that I was in the Peace Corps and asked if they could give me a break since I wasn't earning a salary and they said no. They suggested I move my goods if I wasn't happy with their prices. I asked them how I was supposed to do that since I am out of country. I think it's a shame that they don't support the people who are helping other countries like the military and Peace Corps volunteers.

To Ron H. (aka the big cheese) Having spoken to you on several occasions in the Glendale call center (you normally had your dog with you) and having worked with the company for 4 years (the last year as a sales floor supervisor)....I hope for the sake of a good company (at least it was when I worked their back in 2000-2004) this review is not taken with a grain of salt. Just by looking at the number of ones on the first page, I would say that folks who deal with public storage (majority it seems), are not happy. It would appear that since Public Storage has become the Gorilla of Storage....the customer service has gone south for the winter...spring, summer and fall. Have had occasion to talk to two property managers, and a few DM's that seem to change as often as the calender, and I gotta tell ya Ron.... poor customer service. Truth is PS is a steam roller. But some Gorilla's still care about customer service. Hope you address this cause in this day and age where Industries once thought beyond reach have since toppled, yours could be next.
