does not deserve this star. locked contracts, hidden fees, the worst display of customer "service" I have ever dreamed of encountering. recently my swm power inserter broke. they want to charge me 50 bucks to come and fix it. no. i pay 10 dollars on my bill every month because it is their equipment, not mine. I absolutely refuse to deal with such ridiculousness. take the 10 dollar charge off my bill and i will think about paying that 50 bucks to you criminals.

This really takes the cake!!! After messing up on my appointment time by 12 hours, and then doing it again, when the tech DID show up, he had the gall to ask me for a tip!!! NEVER have i been asked for what is supposed to be a "gratuitous" gesture. There was NO WAY in hell that he was getting a penny from me. This is truly a Company of non-professionals and uneducated people!! (With no manners)

DirecTV is the worst and has the worst customer service. After 8 years of their service, they add on fees and charges every month, even though you don't watch pay-per-views or other movies. They read scripts, repeat your questions and sound like a bunch of parrots. They charge tax and fees on each service, especially their early cancellation services. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL! Go to Cable and get Better Quality Service which will not go out during storms, etc. When you want to cancel, they keep you on hold for a very long time. I am sorry I ever started with them. And, if you dispute a fee, they will take it directly from your credit card WITHOUT AUTHORIZATION!

The service sucks....receiving run around for repair of service. Multiple apartments within our complex have been without service for 4 weeks (second time in one year) and we're not getting anywhere with DirectTV or the Complex manager. DirectTV sets up an appointment and no one shows - this has happened on 4 occassions. Thinking about legal action for my time.

I can't believe how horrible this service is. They are the worst first off when they set up the direct tv in my house it blows my breaker every 30 min so the piece of shit tech didn't know how to hook it up!! Also the direct tv takes out how ever much money they want to in my account which is illegal!!! So I am working on sueing this company for everything they got. My bill has always been $74 a month and they just take out how ever much they feel like taking out that month....I wish I would have read the reviews before I signed up for this no good cable service!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even want to give them a star at all they are the worse company in the world to deal with. I had service with them a yr ago and they ended up taking money out of my friends account saying I owed a bill and I didn't. And they took him whole check, that was messed up I wanted to say something else but I am going to keep it clean, even tho their supervisors and managers treated me like hell they talked over me and put me on hold for hours even hanging up on me 2 times. This company sucks I would rather pay 10000000 with another company then to be with this company again.

I see all the complaints everywhere. Where's the help? I can't get it fro any agency and been Ripped off badly. I will cancel the contract Directv never went by, blocking my paid services from my tv and causing no viewable picturew too. Why isnt some of these complainants able to get some remedy? Why is this being ignored? I was told no matter how many times I called, upgrade,purchase this or that, because I didnt, I got No service! Its extortion if you ask me. They will charge me to cancel a contract they never fulfilled, I dont care, I wont pay them another dime.

Poor quality, Unviewable picture/causing interference of signal/programming or blocking signal.Failure to acknowledge or resolve complaint issues and service problems.After several months paying for choice Ultimate AND a premium $12.99 extra for the same programs on both(didnt know since I didnt get most of them with both programs!BUT I paid for them.customer service&manager said tv was too old.Picture snowy,scrambled,loud noisystatic,electric lines through the tv 3 inches thick etc.The10 1/2 months service.Custm srvce told upgrade most expensive DVR box services extra per month plus installation fees in order to view the programming in the package I purchase.If Directv knew these things when I spoke on the phone about everything while ordering omnline. I told them I can payperview & get those.Rprsntves said the channels I didnt get were the HD channels and they have no control of the programming at all,they didnt know these things(because they should haveinformed me before I chose the movie-type package}.But not true as the Rep.that unblocked it in Feb. saw the regular channels that were missing too,though better than most the shows,they arent great. After Feb. 2012, Directv proved by enabling the channels and viewable picture that indeed they were not only unfair, false advertising,ripoff,scam and continued to scam, lie cheat and twist me for more money.They knew I didnt want to call, whats the use? Thats just the way they handle customers. Besides were on a contract the alltime threat! What can We Do?! Nobody knew? Not even 3 different installers who seen it and never fixed it? the manager's harassing questions while apologizing for the service problems. Trained well to treat us like that.Customer service told me soon as service started because I had to call all the time.They told me everytime I called, in order to view most programming in Ultimate package I needed to upgrade. Some would holler that at me.Basically its Stealing my info to bill me after no card needed to get the service and for addressing proof or similar excuse. They stole money from my accountI paid by money order. Then signed me up to auto pay and insurance. But when I denied the lie I signed for auto pay, they just said the signup said it and contract, but what they emailed me dint.I can't get my point across on the phone,I must take this Corp. to court? No way I could win.I paid in good faith and have a credit almost every single month(since I never know what the charges are or fees or what they will be ever. I guess and buy money orders, If I call they tell me wrong fee's too.Cant call about billing because they cant figure it out either.Then Lo & Behold! SAame box, same tv, same everything ecxept the fees. . February 2012 customer service said they would check something and then the tv picture was fixed, several channels were unblocked, saying it was the remote control.My Fault? These same things were done at least 3-4 other times. The remote setup was done with two different managers previously without results and they never resolved any of these issues. The promotional prices were close to being raised to regular price(plus they raised fees) and it seems as if they deliberately limited the programming because of the promo price. ?However; they expect me to quit service paying the regular price for the other 1/2 of the contract time, I'd be at fault either way, if I dont stop service I just pay for commercials reruns extra programming because the programming is so bad. It is the worst I've ever seen, I believe maybe its just mine or certain areas like senior complexes maybe that they pre-program the same continual shows, movies,24/7 paid programming which takes up at least 300 channels, payper view called 'my channels I get' and Cinema takes up about 2-300 more. Doesn't leave much to view.They offer their programming choice at $21.00+ for every upgrade what do you get? 2-3 channels that aren't commercials. In fact the so called premiums I get are redundant repeated programming continually,low quality someso old you cant see them,when I did get tnt,amc type channels; The programmed reruns shown on premium channels I purchased extra each month came on the other channels too! Blocking signal/interference of t.v. picture not only prevented Directv service to be viewable, it prevented viewing the t.v. entirely by any other means as well for over 10 months. Its a scam, this company has no ethics, and theres so far Nothing I can do about it! I knew it wasnt my tv since cable and dtv box worked. I just gave up all the time, couldnt take the stress and lies they told me. I asked for a refund but management harassed me when I called to talk about a resolution; only blamed me for 'not calling more, 'not calling about the tv picture 'enough, 'not having lists of channels,'dates,'times of all emails,calls,letters made to customer service. Though this manager corrected me as if I'd lied telling me he had a the records etc.How am I a crook here? Its rediculous humiliating, stressful and affects my health and well being tremendously, financially draining and a complete ripoff. I feel dehumanized, less than a person by the way they treated me and these issues.No assistance from agencies giving consumer advise/info info saying I have rights.Below are California Codes regarding cable/satellite/ tv/video services. I added these since I know my rights are violated, that Im not stupid, no I'm not a trained proffessional, business or corporation owner,or a lawyer,and I'm not the one trying to cheat anybody. This entire service is crappy let alone what they have done, haven't done. Maybe somehow this company can be stopped from continuing to do this to anyone, of course they arent regulated and can cheat steal lie and nobody cares. Directv is clearly in violation of the codes if I must continue to spell it out. Directv doesnt provide complaint procedures/resolution as far as I know, except to call email or look online,including the procedures for complaints and resolution. Directv failed to inform me what to do, ignored every attempt by me, harassed and intimidated, lied to me and wanted me to pay more, purchase more, and it worked I believe I'm entitled to a refund of all monies paid to Directv. I don't want their service, the constant complaining,services that arent worth buying even if you get them, but not to get them isnt ok either. They have only disrespect,ready to take what they dont have coming,and intimidate you with harrassment, & stress. This isnt about 'Directv's business ethics, they have none.Directv should be held to answer in an appropriate arena; and not where they can bully & steal from people,lie and cheat people, harass and intimidate. This company ripped me off, blocked service from me and ruined my tv for viewing anything at all.The customer services representatives and the managers only told me buy more,upgrade for more money, nothing else. I had to purchase more, in order to see anything other than infomercials etc, no regular programming like is advertised and in their brochures. FReels like extortion.

5 hours with directv and no help as to why it happened or when we will have service. I am so disspointed with service. Everytime it's raining hard its go off. and price wise is not great. I feel I was roped into this contract, with lower fees unti you get the first bill and all the added junk and now it $12.00 more, may not seem like alot more but when your on fixed income it does mean alot.

Directv is just as horrible as everyone claims. They tack on so many charges it makes no sense. Why should I pay $6 for each tv on top of what im already paying. There customer service aint so peachy either. They don't know what they are doing and they fail to stick to the same story no matter who you talk to. They company needs to revamp otherwise some other Company that will offer good service will bury them. Also they claim to have all these channels but you really get half as many channels because each network has 2 channels (HD and none HD). Why dont you make it specific to the customer and offer solely HD or solely regular channels. DUH!!!! Obvioulsy if a customer has an HD tv they bought it so they can watch HD TV. If a customer doesn't have HD TV then those channels are useless. C'mon DTV get it together common sense!

I had direct tv for two year contract. I went through homes . org for the contract. I was told with my sign up I was to get a free i pod I never got the i pod!!!! IN the last two years I was getting charged $10.00 dollars a month for hd> had three tech none could fix problem.two boxes 2 hdmi cables and two 46 inch tvs. Iwas given two choices either change box and add another year or continue to pay $10.00 a month for 24 months after complaining they only credit me 6 months. If you add 10 times 24 you get $ 240.00 dollars in hd fees if you subtract The 6 month credit you get $180.00 ... so at the end of the contract I decided to not py $50.00 on the last bill So the $50.00 went on wy credit report Customer service told me I had two choices Either they will remove the $50.00 from the credit report and I take a lose of $130.00 or the $50.00 stays on credit report In the day and age the costomers lose Why cant i use direct tv collection people to get what is owed to me it only goes one way only to benefit the fat cat DIRECT YOU ARE A THEIF AND SCAM YOU OWE ME $130.00 DOLLARS PLUS AN I POD YOU SUCK WITH YOUR 1 TV EAT SHIT AND DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Direct TV is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Their management doesn't know what's going on in their company, the reps are all poorly trained. I can't believe the lack of professionalism dealing with such a huge company. We were quoted $69/month then they added $40 for HD (which we already purchased for $450 when signing up) and NO ONE could help us or find the recorded conversation. Because of our location, the only cable company we are allowed to use is Direct TV and it's been the most unfortunate experience I've ever dealt with. Corporate will be hearing from me!!

Direct tv is awful. The Only reason we got it is because we moved to a rural area for a year and that was the only way we could have tv. We recently moved to a big city and switched providers, They charged my debit card(bank account) 510 dollars for cancellation fees. We called them and came to an agreement if we stuck with direct tv for one more year, they would reimburse us all of the money into my bank account. So we made an agreement to have a 59.99 cost per month, and free movie channels for 3 months. Every customer service rep i talked too told me a different story, i was to be refunded my entire amount to my bank account, n each one told me a different day it would be refunded. I was refunded 200 dollars of it, and the rest was "nonrefundable" I talked to a supervisor named Courtney, with the ID number tpcl736987 who looked into it more n said my refund would be in my bank account within 30 days... We called today on 5/23/2012, contacted a supervisor named Will. Who said the credit was applied to my last 2 months bills, and i owe 114 dollars, and i gave him courtneys number and he said there were no notes on my account from her. How can i have a 300 dollar credit (which we were told our rate was 59.99 a month) and 2 months later, i owe 114 dollars? Direct tv are liars and crooks, and i will be canceling my direct tv account in the next week, All direct TV is is liars and thieves. Think twice before signing up with them. They have insulting customer service, and without customers, they would not be in business.

Your service is the worst i have ever seen and if not for the football pkge i would be gone. someone gained access to my account and ordered some equipment and i let directv know and they did nothing and have no urgency to find out what did happen or stop it from happening and nall they do is apologize and send you to someone else who is cluless

after reading the propblems that everyone else is having I'm not sure if it will do any good for me to say anything, my issues are the same as everyone else, poor customer service and the inability for the custumer service department to work with us "the customer" if we all decided to cancel our service and go elsewhere, maybe then someone will listen, from the person in India or whereever is that they are taking calls nowadays, it does not do any good they all have the same pages that they all read from, when I called on saturday, the supervisor (Tim)if that is his real name, is probably the same guy from the credit card commercial, but anyway he said That since they are not flexible with the service times, that I should contact a friend or someone else to be at my house for then to come and look at the equipment because thay have set hours and are not willing to accomedate anyone with their service calls, I guest since they already have our money who cares right? I told this guy that for everyday this week that I have the same issue I will deduct a percentage of the bill until the issues are taking care of. DirecTV should stop making commercials about taking care of their customers and spend the money on educating their management team and employees, to listen to the Voice of their customers and fix the problems, that for what I read are the same for everyone.

From day one when i was "SET UP WITH DIRECT TV" the bull shit started. I started with a package from Satton Marketing, Sencer was the sales person at my house. I was told Id have free H D for life Choice xtra for 34.99 hd for life dvr for 7.00 for four t.v.'s total cost of 60.00 per month before tax, I still have the carbon copy as proof. ever since that day ive been screwed and my bill has never been that little. so each month id call and id get the same bull excuses from the non english speaking cant understand reps that say the same crap as the last months person i talked to. direct t.v. is the worst and most lieing company i have ever had to deal with in my life and wish tha i never switched from dish......... youall suck

Direct tv is trash the suck in every way me and my wife had direct pay set up and they failed to take it out got shut off twice we have almost no time to check are account so we didn't know the last time we didn't even bother turning them back on cause they wanted a reactive fee and in winter I had to go on my roof and wipe off less then a half inch of snow to get it to work agin. So a few months go by after the shut off we notice a huge change in are account cause it was over drafted by a large amount it was direct tv with out notice they with drew 969 bucks from are account with out any notice letter nothing it funny how they can make the effort to take that much out but not take are monthly bill. But back ti the story we contacted thrm and tried to get it fixed before we ended up with a bunch of fees from are bank they said they can't cancel the transaction witch is pending after we worked out the bull charges and told use we will get everything but 180 back it has been a week now still no money back and my draft fees are stacking up called them many times and got bad service from them even had to talk to a lot of people from other countries witch I'm in the USA thanks for helping out are economy. But all said and done I'm still waiting for my money and get no help from your company. I'm giving it till Monday and if nothing is done I'm filing a class act law suit on d tv cause I'm already sitting on 300 in over draft fees and it was caused from your company's mistake and you just don't seem to care.

I am a client with direct TV for one year and a half. They charge me on 5/11/2012 $1024.88 on my debit card. That was a unauthorized charge and they agree with that after i was on the phone for 4 and a half hours. Also faxing paper work to their financial services. They made a lot of mess with my bank account causing me to overdraft multiple times. I spoke with Juan the supervisor and he was horrible talking over me. I request to have this month free because i didn't have money to pay the bill because the said the money wouldn't be reimburse until ten days. In my opinion, this provider has no customer service and multiple complaints against them. It would be wise to stay away from this company and save yourself a massive headache.I am waiting for October so my contract will be up and then i can switch to somebody i will enjoy
