I am writing to make you aware of the unethical, untenable, and potentially unlawful practices in your macon georgia store. These pracitces, and the poisonous atmosphere they created, resulted in my wrongful termination on May 16,2012. I was a distinguished Dillard's Sales Associate with over eight years tenure with the company. I began my career with Dillard's as a sales associate in 2002. I left Dillards's in 2005 with a spotless record to pursue other career opportunities. In 2008 when Dillard's opened its new store at The Shoppes at River Crossing in Macon, Georgia I decided to return. Because of my spotless record, my reputation for great customer service and proven high productivity, I was welcomed back. I looked forward to continuing a satisfactory career with a new store manager Jerome Collins. That expectation had proven to be greatly exaggerated because of his weak and ineffective management. Since rejoining the company I had virtually doubled my hourly wage because of my productivity. I had risen to become the number one sales associate in the store, as well as in the women's shoe department. I was consistently number one in new credit applications, and received high marks for outstanding customer service. I had been recognized as a Dillard's Pace Setter three of the four years since my return. This is not the record of a troubled, marginally performing employee who would be summarily dismissed. I became concerned early on after recognizing Jerome collin's lack of leadership and weak ineffective management style. Company rules and directives are made up on the fly. Communication is characterized by dissemination of rumors and innuendo. The shoe department has been without a manager for months. My stock began to go downhill with Jerome Collins a year ago when I challenged him for not submitting my request for an hourly wage increase based on productivity and in accordance with company policy. After two months of no action on Jerome Collins part and a refusal to give me an answer to my inquiry. I wrote a letter to the district office. Since that time it has been all downhill from there. Jerome Collins has constantly harassed me and created an atmosphere impossible for myself and many other employees to succeed. I have been berated, nickeled and dimed and accountable for activities for which a department manager is responsible. My termination was wrongful and was in direct retaliation for my seeking redress, and demanding action for a concern which jerome Collins should have addressed in a timely manner.

I purchased several items from Dillard in Parks Mall, and wrote a check, which was processed electronically. Apparently the dollar amount of my transaction was transposed upon the clerk entering the amount of purchase. My receipt shows $102.82 and the amount debited to my account was $182.82. I spoke to audit at Parks Mall who informed me that I had to send a copy of my bank statement, no apology what so ever. I was told the matter would be resolved today, however I did not receive a phone call as promised. I realize mistakes happen, however they should be corrected asap and an apology should be given.

I went to Dillards at Perimeter Mall to switch my make up shade ( Clinique, the tranaction was done by a young lady who took over 15 minutes to acknowlede my pressence and decided to assist two Caucasion ladies who walked up after me.She was very rude and unprofessional she stated that it was store policy not to swap make up if its been used, after explaining to her that i only used it once and that ill be happy to purchase another one if it would cause a problem she shouted at me "I said I will exchange it". After reluctantly exchanging the item for me she walked to her manager who was in the back and had him point me down in the store where i had just finished purchasing other item from another counter (over $ 500.00) purchase. The Gentleman kept pointing in my direction so I walked to meet him after he started walking towards me.The gentle man(Manager) asked me why"why did you exchange this item" I explained to him and told him again that i would be happy to re purchase the item if it was such a bother. This gentle man spoke to me as if I had stolen something out of the store I had a number of people walking over towards me to see what was happening, this gentle man was very rude and had a bad attitude.this was not a great experience at all.I am very concerned with the way I am treated in this store this is the second time i have gotten horrible service and bad attitude in prior week I went to make purchases at the Chanel I stood there for more thank 10 minute and had to speak first to the young lady before she ask "what can I get for you".I have been shopping with Dillards for years and have spent over $1000.00 monthly ( love to shop) but service has been horrible so I will shop elsewhere.Thank you

I was arrased in the Perimeter store by a manager, was a very bad experience. Will not go back!!!

I LOVE Dillard's! ever since they have hired this new girl by the name of Jackie, I refuse to shop there if she's working. If I want to see boobs or her Bottom I could go to a Strip club right? I was walking by and she's bent over with everything hanging out (Gross) I thought Dillards or any place of business has a dress code, if so, someone needs to show her the handbook. I spend nearly $500.00 a week at Dillard's but looks Like I'll take my business else where.

I shop at Dillards a great deal but I had an unsettling experience this week. I purchased two non-refundable tops on line. The Brand was Chaus and the size was large. The tops came and they were paper thin and looked like a childrens large or a junior medium. Since the size was misrepresented the store should have made some type of compensation. I am now out the money and they would not even make an exchange. This will cost Dillards a lot more in the long run.

Parkmeadows, Lone Tree CO. Ask STORE MGR (Mary) to hold item while I went down stairs to find shoes to match and Mary went on rampage slamming clothes on the counter, stating that she can not hold any thing ect... When I requested for someone else to assist me Mary then apologized stating that over half of her staff had called out???????. Mary then stated that she would hold til noon next day. I was in shock to see someone in a management position displaying this type of behavior. Overall store is great but I will not shop there again and will tell all my friends, family & co-workers about this experience.

I've been going to dillards in Lincoln Nebraska for sometime now and the other day I was in getting a few things for a gift and a dress for my self. I was wondering around the women's department I had already asked for help by 3 different so called " managers." who looked my way after I started to aproch themand they quickly walked away and didn't look back. After leaving the women's dept. I headed to the children's and started lOoking for a gift, finally an employee walked up to me. She asked me very rude "come with me" I asked simpley as to why. And was told to wait. I followed her to this room she closed the door and I was sat At. a table with 2 cops and 3 employees the ones that had walked away from me and the one rude lady that took me to the room. The cop began to ask me questions. As he started I asked what I was doing here and the cop replied you have beloved to have been steeping things from the women's and children's. Dept. I was very confused as to why they thought I was stealing from them I didn't take anything from there store. And I took all the things lit of my purse and put them on the table. And said my stuff you can go through. And that they did. They asked that I take off my jacket so they could look at it, yes I had bought it from. There. So I got in my wallet showed the recite to the cop. And picked all my things up and I was let go. As I walked out the door the women who had taken me to the room said "YOU WILL BE COUGHT NEXT TIME" I had wrote to the head of coprate but never got anything back I have not been back to the store since then. And I do NOT PlAn on EGER steping foot in there ever again!

The Wounded Warrior House opens in Colorado this fall with the help of caring individuals and concerned supportive businesses. The budget necessary for the first step of securing and furnishing the home for recently medically retired veterans totals $250,000. Donations ranging from $10 - $50 -$100 -$500 -$1000 -$2500 -$5000 to $250,000 are greatly needed to put this project together and begin serving the veterans who simply need a safe resting place. Gaining resources and insights for living again as well as planning for education, employment and lifestyle pursuits can be goals these veterans can accomplish. The camaraderie found within former military is beneficial in the therapeutic healing process necessary to transition to a civilian life. Sharing life experiences and the availability to healing resources in a caring home atmosphere is unique to these returning injured veterans. Intervening during a time of life adjustment bringing positive influences to them will assist in their long term development of trust and sense of well being and will set the stage for the a prosperous and healthy transition to a lifestyle that benefits them as they begin their healing process from wounds seen and unseen. Homelessness, legal issues, untreated medical disabilities both physical and mental, financial difficulties, failed marriages and family relationships, domestic violence and substance abuse are concerns of most returning injured veterans. The statistics involving major problems facing injured veterans are overwhelming. They try to reach out; try to fix their problems; try to begin again, Some simply fall through the cracks. Wounded Warrior House hopes to catch these fallen soldiers and hold them up with respect, assistance, counseling, guidance and peer to peer comaraderie to enable them the chance at the American dream and freedoms they fought for. With your concern and donations a new future can be formed for many veterans. You as an individual or a business can make a difference in their lives. I was at the Dillards store in The Woodlands, TX mall, looking for a swimsuit today, when a very bizarre, elderly woman, named Bobbie, came at me trying to "help" me. I was shocked to see that this was the person working there. She was out of control, screaming and yelling at her co-workers. What a lunatic. I love Dillards, but I asked for a manager and was told that 'Bobbie always acts like that'. Where are the managers?? I wanted no part of dealing with her, so I left. She was frightening.

\\\\\\\MONEY DO NOT CARE SO SORRY THE PEOPLE HAVE NO HELPFUL ATTITUDE TOO BAD NICE STORE.GO ELSEWHERE WALGREENS TARGET K MART

I was at Dillards cottonwood mall I walked by the cosmetic department looking around, I was passed up by 3 different associates who were standing around talking about how unhappy they were with working there, I continued to look around as I walked pass the Dior counter the associate at Estee Lauder Irene Trujillo was busy entering things on the register, she turned around smiled at me and after being in that cosmetic department for at least 20 minutes if not longer she was the only one who acknowledged me. She asked how I was doing and asked if I needed anything? She let me know about the Gift they were getting ready to launch, I listened to what she had to say and asked if I was shopping for someone special.. I told her I was just browsing around and getting ideas to get my wife a gift, we got to talking and laughing she told me she was working two jobs and just had the most uplifting wonderful spirit. I placed a purchase with her did not need anything but because she was the only one who made any contact with me I purchased a fragrance and the make up gift. Sad to see someone with two jobs ready to help a customer vs the 3 who were standing around gossipping and complaining about how miserable they were working there... To anyone going to Dillards at Cottonwood mall stop to see Irene Truillo at Estee Lauder she is about customer service not the sale her listening to me and just the friendly talk is all I needed to cheer my up. Did I need the perfume or product I purchased NO NO NO but because of her good customer service I purchased. I will be back to see her, my wife will enjoy the gift and I will let her know to go see Irene in the future... THANK YOU IRENE for your hospitality and converstation Dillard's needs more employees like you

I will be sending a letter to corporate office about my experience at the Dillard-Ocoee-Florida store. I went the the shoe department to return two pairs of shoes which I brought one day ago. I have receipts and the return label is on the box. I have the unfortunate luck to have a employee named Heather Evans to wait on me. She open the box with the blue shoe take a look and asked what wrong with it, I replied nothing wrong, I just changed my mind, then she said I have to call the Manager on this return, I asked WHY, she said because the shoe had been worn, so I asked her what about the other pair and how can you tell, she replied the other pair is fine, I can tell the shoe had been worn from the heel. I took both shoes' heel and compare and said it looks the same and besides by looking at the soles of the shoes you know it had not been worn for the sticker to indicate the size is still on the sole, you mean to tell me that I can walk with just with my heels and sole never touch the ground and to comment she snobbishly reply "YES", meanwhile she call security on me. I have never did call her names, cuss at her, raise my hand at her, all the time during the confrontation I stand behind the counter never moved. She called the security on me and treat me like a common criminal which I am very, very, offended. Finally the store manager Carina showed up and apology to me and gave me the refund. Ms. Heather Evans never said a word. She should never work at customer service if she like to profile customers first before looking at the facts.

hey and thanks for this interesting article. I can understand your position. Nice blog, and this has been very enlightening for me. thanks again.

That is some inspirational stuff. Never knew that opinions could be this varied. Very creative, one of the nicer sites I have seen today. Keep up the great work.

And the way the story unfolds gradually building up the tension while at the same time treading on that fine line between dark and light, good and evil, is just amazing how that was done in terms of sentimentality Ripley ,missed her daughters birthday because fate was cruel to her given the circumstances of her floating out into space for 57 years, after she escaped from the Nostramo.
