Don't rent from Budget

Rented from budget June 18th Car was damaged, saved damaged claim (thank heaven I did) they came back 1 month later trying to say I damaged the car. never will rent from budget again.

They simply don't care!

I rented a car from avis and was told there wasn't a holding fee and out of nowhere a fee was put on my account. The rep stated to modify my agreement and then it canceled my reservation and now I'm out of 300.00 and funds won't be released up to 7 days because I was lied to. And to top if off tomorrow was suppose to be my first day at work now I have no vehicle and no funds. When I attempted to call customer service the reps including supervisor hung up 4 times on me after waiting 15 mins for them to answer. I can't believe what a horrible company they are.

Reservation not honored

We reserved a truck a week in advance to move my daughter's furniture from Virginia to New York. We drove down on Friday, and Saturday, when attempted to pick up the truck, were told they didn't have one available. We called their customer service rep, who were totally uninterested in helping us. Unable to find a truck, we had to leave my daughter's furniture by the side of the road, and take two cars back to NY. The plan was to sell her car in Richmond, but now we needed it to move her belongings. . I advise anyone who is contemplating leasing a truck from this company to read the fine print very carefully. This company totally misrepresents it's policies, and states that the only thing you are reserving, is the price. Avis Budget is a company that egregiously violates all ethical decency. It seems that their only goal is to rent the fleet at a 100% rate, and so they overbook " reservations" as a business policy, with complete legal impunity.

Budget Truck Rental

Made it an hour in a Budget 24 foot moving truck and it broke down. Budget left us stranded for 11 1/4 hours before sending a tow truck. Called over 20 times for help and was lied to and treated with disrespect by customer service. Told us if we left the truck it would be abandonment.

Trust Budget? Year Right!

Returned a rented Budget truck to a non-secure location after hours (no locked gate, no cameras) truck was subsequently taken from location. Area Manager called me some one week later inquiring on when and where I returned truck and after speaking with him I was assured I would not be held responsible, one week later my bank account was hit for over $1,600.00 in charges from Budget. My bank account was closed. Area Manager blamed Budget's billing department, the billing department blamed the Area Manager and the location I returned it to. Never, ever trust this company!!!

Steeling your trust

I've made a reservation for a car and was offered a better rate as a business owner. One month later no refund, no apologies. This is my last reservation with AVIS.

The first time I rented for over 30 days. was offered a Mustang for only $5 more per day. My next rental one month later again for over 30 days I was offered a Mustang for $20 per day. Was told couldn't do the $5? $2000 spent in recent rentals and today in mail I received a notice of $150 extra charge for pet hair. I will NEVER use Budget again.

preauthorization!!! NOT

Recently transferred to Bahrain and didn't bring my car along so I rented one for just the weekend. They told me my card would have a pre authorization of 100BD. (About $265). Well my card was charged and it is currently a week later and they just keep telling me that it is not a charge. I showed them my online statement that showed they charge and they are still denying the charge. Beyond pissed and want my money back. NOW!!! Looking like I will have to dispute the charge through my bank

Total rip off and scam they suck!

I rented a car while in Phoenix AZ for a Buisness trip. On my way back to the airport I got a flat I called there emergency line and was told it would be at least 2 hours to get someone there for the flat. They told me to drive on the rim to the Avis lot and park the car. Now a month or more later I get a bill from them for $289 dollars for a new tire after I did exactly what THEY told me to do. I will never rent from budget or Avis again on top of that I asked for the insurance they offered to be charged to me when I called about the claim I was told they did not have it on the account and it was my fault. What a bunch of *~€{¥=][€_£~#*\!!!!!!! I hate them and would not ever recommend them to anyone! Better yet you can't even find a corporate email to complain to them about your service they really don't care about customers or they would have way better service. Don't rent from them anywhere.

Well, I rented a car from the East Dallas area. When we agreed on the price, I asked them if I could use my $100 Avis gift certificate to pay a portion of the bill once I brought it back. The agent told me "Sure, every bit of help is nice." Yet when I returned the car the same agent said that he couldn't accept the gift certificate at time of checking in the car. This would have been nice to know at time of rental. The two agents explained that they can only accept Avis gift certificates at time of rental only...not upon returning the car. This really didn't make any sense to me so I asked the manager. He only confirmed what I had already been told but no reason why. Corporate doesn't answer calls or return messages.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER

I rented a car through avis, and i agree with the above person about being charged 2 times the price for an extra day. Not to mention I get another for 17 dollars that was on my account a week after i returned the call. You can't ever get a manager, there is no customer service and they are in fact the absolute worst rental company. save your money and time and go to hertz

Budget rental rented to a person that came from the Philly airport who caused an accident in Williamsport pa and fled the scene on foot... to a pregnant woman and her toddler. They are avoiding the pregnant woman who needs them to take care of their end of the insurance. This place is unethical and will soon have a lawyer on them about the matter. Never will I reccomend budget rental EVER!!!

Ripoffs

I travel weekly. Only rented from Avis/Budget twice. First time was ok then they ripped me off bigtime next rental. Same car 1 day extra. Twice the price. Aweful customer service.

Exceptional Customer Service

I was a passenger in a car rented thru Budget recently and mistakenly left my wallet in the trunk of our car. It was not discovered until I was going thru the security line with only 45 minutes before my flight left. We called Budget and a manager helped locate it and rushed it back to the terminal to meet me for a fast pick up. She was amazing in customer service and kept me at ease in the stressful process. We meet at the terminal and I received my wallet fully intact, and raced back to catch my flight since they held the plane. This Budget leader went way out of her way to save a customer to restore his identity.She could have chosen not to jump on the shuttle or passed on going the extra mile to help me...she chose to make a difference. This is the type of customer service that is not always received by other companies or people...but it is tremendously appreciated. Thank you for hiring such a wonderful employee and congratulations on Budget's training and customer service to their staff.

Customer Service is HORRIBLE

Ok I wanted to verify a $30 charge to my card so they give me a number to their claims department.(They could have transferred me) I call and call all day and leave several VMs and still no response to my inquiry. These people are just out to get your money and apparently your lives.

Bad service in Dulles airport

Tried to get a car for a day, the service was below 0.... We exchanged cars for 3 times. Every time, there is problem with a car, it's like , we have to do a maintenance check for each car , there is a problem with noises , the bumper was broken, check engine light was on. In addition , bad bad customer service in Dulles Virginia location

I was totally scammed in 1996 in Victoria BC. I rented a cube truck to move my furnishings, bought all the insurance available. Due to the fact that I was inexperienced at driving such a tall vehicle I accidentally hit the top front of the truck into a roof overhang. This pushed in/damaged this front piece that seemed to be made of fiberglass, bolted to the actual metal front of the truck up high over the cab. Well Budget said that piece of the truck was not covered by the insurance as it was considered an an accessory and accessories are not covered. I was not told that when I drove the truck off the lot that the entire truck was not covered. When I argued this, and said why was I not told this and given an option to buy more coverage to cover that piece, they said they had no insurance for that piece. So I had to pay over $700.00 for a new piece to be bolted on, of course they did all the work and I had to buy the piece from them etc. I had no choice, if I didn't pay they would send to collections and ruin my credit rating. I talked to all my friends and no one knew that that piece at the front above the cab is not covered, and on further speculation, it seemed to be the most likely place to suffer damage on any situations of height restrictions. What a scam!!!

Trickery

I made a reservation for my husband at the or Orange County, CA airport office with Budget and told the Staff at that time we were not getting thier insurance as our home policy covered car rentals too. Then when my husband went to pick up the car, he was asked if he wanted to get insurance, he said no. When he got home he said they over charged him about a hundred dollars than what he was quoted. I called immediately and was told the paper my husband signed included insurance. I have phoned three times to get the ctra $90 off our credit card and they refuses each time.

Confused

Can't figure out why Avis offers a better rate to someone that walks in off the street than someone with a corporate discount. The discount was under an employee discount program for personal rentals and offers no additional bells and whistles. Inquired on the live chat but no explanation was offered other than "that's too bad". I guess they bank on you figuring your are getting a good deal because of this big corporate offering so you don't check otherwise.
