I shop at the Farmingville, New York store and am in the store 2 to 3 times a week. Ever since the new manager Dave took over I have noticed a severe decline in employee morale. I have seen him in action on over 3 dozen occasions he thinks he is gods gift to stop and shop he is the worst manager I have ever seen at this store and I have been a consumer there for over 13 years ever since the store opened. I have heard numerous employees complaining about him. He treats them like they are something on the bottom of his shoe, yet acts like he is a god. The store also seems to have declined in appearance. Store policy is that no employee should not be on their cell phones while on the clock, I totally agree with this and that should also apply to the store managers, are they not also on the clock. Old saying do as I say not as I do that is what the Farmingville store manager seems to go by. Well enough ranting about him hopefully something can be done about this manager.
hello, This is regarding store #723. I'm a very good customer of Stop & Shop. I shop at this store daily and had a problem with a employee there. She bags groceries on some shifts at the express checkout. Not sure of her name but she is short, ties her hair back and wears glasses. She is young and seems to be really nice. She would bag my groceries mixing the fridge items with other things. Since I go directly to work I like my refrigerated items seperate so I can put them in my office fridge. I got upset when this happened a number of times so I confronted her about it. I just thought the policy should be that the refrigerated items should be bagged seperatly. Since then she ignores me and doesn't bag my groceries any longer. I just think thats poor attitude as an employee. I spend alot of money at this store and should get great customer assistance. If this continues I will look into this further. Hope this matter gets taken care of. Thank you
I shopped at the store in east hartford ct today, the one on silver lane and i had the most horrible experience. A girl named meghan who was working was nothing but rude to me when i simply just asked for help with finding an item. Everytime i have been in this store and this girl is working she is just as rude as can be! I have complained to the managers many times about this girl yet she has not seemed to change her attitude. As of today i am switching to shop rite. I would rather drive an extra 15 minutes out of the way and have less grocery selection then ever to step foot in that store again. I spend at least 600$ or more a month in groceries and you have now lost my buisness for good
I am a weekly shopper at the Oceanside NY store (Long Beach Rd location). LaToya is one of the cashier's there. She is the friendliest,helpful,accurate and fastest cashier in that store. I will wait on her line just so she can check out my order.At least I know that it's being done without any hassle. Food shopping is a chore I don't love but at least when you have someone that works in your super market with her personality, she makes the task much more tolerable. Cashiers in that store location could learn good customer service from her. Especially Elvira who is extremely nosy,rude and down right nasty. She even yells at you for the way you place your groceries on the belt. I avoid her at all costs. HATS OFF TO LaToya....job well done.
Your Northport, NY store has a nasty odor inside near the west entrance. I have noticed it for several weeks - finally asked the service counter what's up with the stink? Their reply: "Oh yeah, that's the cheese display there, we get nothing but complaints about it." Hmmm. To say that is smells like unwashed ass would be the understatement of the year. It's like something died in that part of the store. Why is it allowed to continue?
Westerly RI store # 736 These people think they are so slick badmouthing customers and fellow employees over thier open 2 way FM bussiness radio system! I will not repeat the content here. Some managers are just as guilty! All I have to say to them is BEWARE! Your audience is bigger than than you realize.....those radios are for coordinating/facilitating the work of employees....not toys for a certain "clique" to carry out "gossip nets" wich contain, disrespectful,vulgar,& sexual content. You clowns know who you are! I suggest you stop at once or you are gonna find yourselves in DEEP SH**! Thanks for your time, cheers!
I was so happy when your store opened up in Hampton bays. I have had an issue on time and it was taken care of. So far the store and grounds are kept clean. My only complaint and this is also an insult to me and many is that we hear that the stop and shop stores want to be open for Christmas. The stores have the options to be closed for various religous holidys. You are adding to the thousands of unamerican people thar want to disregard holidays and thousands of people that do nothonor the americAn flag I guess the many soldiers that are fighting and dying for our freedom don't mean that much. Well you have list a customer. I just can't believe a few dollars can do this.
I was shopping in the Everett store on Friday night when I heard an EMPLOYEE call a customer a C*ck S*cker an A**hole was swearing and yelling at this customer with what appeared to be a child standing beside him. Not one suporvisor did anything to this young girl or say anything to her. I was horrified that they allow that kind of behavior to go on in this store.
I frequent the Stop and Shop in Huntington Station, NY - poorly managed is an understatement. I was at the deli counter friday about 7pm with another shopper. There wer 3 people behind the counter cleaning up, washing machines, throwing water at each other while ignoring the customers. After about 15 minutes of waiting I asked if the deli section was closed and I was told not until 9pm but they were going home, and walked away. ???? I complained to Grace who was the Mgr on duty who DID NOTHING to correct the situation but advised me to take a phone number off the wall and call customer service. I usually spend between $400 and $600 dollars a month in this store.... I PROMISE I will not be back. Too many people out of work on Long Island that would LOVE to work and you employ the laziest people I've ever met. Good Luck with that! There's a reason your store is always empty.
I was in your Raynham , mass store sunday 10/30/2011 and was looking for a simple cake for my son and daughters birthdays . Erin and Samantha at the bakery were super customer friendly and very eager to meet my request. Hats off to them for their great personalities and great customer service skills.
Stop and shop is the worst place to work. The way ,they treat their workers is crazy and suck.They said that the customer is always right and the worker have to take shit from them. Everytime,a customer complaint telling the true or lying,they will believe them and blame the worker for everything. Some customers even do it on purpose because they that stop and shop will reward them with a gift card or any other thing. I feel sorry for those poor people working there. Stop and shop is asking too much then paying back nothing,God will judge you one day for all those complaints
Outside your Saugus store there are two individuals with poorly made signs DEATH WITH DIGNITY.Signes were not professional but just scribbled. Both individuals look like they have been drinking not just water. They are soliciting signatures for some sort of petition. When you refuse to sign it...they respond with very sarcastic and loud tones "YOU HAVE A REAL NICE DAY NOW" and they keep yelling it at you as you walk away. I heard other ladies state that they would not return to this store because these individuals were harassing people....I feel the same............. I spoke with the manager and he said they could not do anything...... They are on Stop and Shop property............... They tried to be intimidating.............. I tried to submit a complaint form and guess what there was a $25.00 charge ...are you kidding???? Just trying to be helpful since the store manager said his hands were tied...............and I held on the phone to file a comment about these individuals....45minutes wait...nice way to conduct business...VERY Disappointed
stop and shop in greenwich cocnnecticut on putnam avenue is very, very dirty, i am very disappointed in how there store looks. i shop there as a customer and i like to shop in a clean store that's not filthy looking. im surprised they have a store in a town like greenwich connecticut. the assocites that work there are very NASTY!!!! and very RUDE including the store manager. i've been living in greenwich for many years and i have never shopped in asupermarket where the associates are disrespectful and they have conversations with each other that is not appropiate for the sales floor amongst customers that are shopping there. it bothers me that there are never any managers around to here what the assocites talk about with each other. i know that if you do tell them and make a compliant they laugh it off and say oh there just kids. what kind of a stupid statement is that to make. someone needs to go in that store on 161 putnam avenue greenwich ct and listen and watch how the managers and the associates interact with each other and have the associates and the managers FIRED from the store and put someone new in there because that store is disgusting.
I need a copy of a Stop & shop policy and procedure handbook. I have requested it on a number of occasions and have been told they do not have one!!! This is an illegal answer! In reguards to the "BOB" question cashiers are being forced to ask on a daily basis or they get threatened with write ups. I dont know how many times it needs to be said. This OFFENDS the customers. No matter how you slice it, if you are asking a person with an obvious empty cart if they have anything in or under it that they need help with they know that you are flat out asking them in a "kind" way if they are stealing! I lost count how many times customers have gotten offened by this. One even thinking that a cashier was asking him because he was African American. Is this what we need when we come to work? Fear of being accused of being called a racist!? Ive worked for the company for many years and not once since this past year have I felt more harrassed and threatened by management on a constant basis all due to this question which does more harm than good. And I dont buy the lie that we are losing tons of money because of "BOB". You want to know where all the money is going out the door? Direct your attention to SELF SCAN and SCAN IT! Its such an uncomfortable place to work now always looking over your shoulder because management will actually SNEAK up behind you and listen in to make sure you are politely asking the customers if they are stealing anything. Its ABSURD and borderline harrasment that is totally distracting from our job!! The only money walking out the door is from the customer that leaves PISSED, and will probably never come back because Stop and Shop is the place that treats their customers like potential criminals. WAKE UP and actually listen to the people that work the floors of your stores for once! Its time to get rid of "BOB" and think of a better solution. One where customers dont leave angry and offended perhaps?
I must say I as well was very disappointed in Stop and Shop in Providence Rhode Island. I am a single parent and every dollar counts, so I printed coupons for body and hand soap off the internet, after looking I found that Stop and Shop had them on sale. Needless to say I was happy until I started to check out at the self check and the coupons were not being doubled. I had called earlier to find out what the policy was and was told that up to 99 cents would be doubled. When the coupon was not doubled i asked for assistance only to be told I don't know and was walked away from. I again found another person hoping maybe they would know why, not wanting to have to call the manager, was again told I don't know why. By the second time of being told I don't know I was upset. It is the responsibility of store managers and other staff to make sure everyone is properly trained in store policy. And top make it all worse when I finally did turn to the store manager does anyone have a clue what I was told, Yup you got it "I don't know why". I finally resolved my issue realizing that my store card had not been scanned but for three employees to have no clue why is unacceptable, especially with Stop and Shop prices
My friend and I were shopping in the Stop N Shop in Yonkers NY this evening. When I went to the cashier I said hello. He looked at me in nasty way. He rang up my order and I asked how the cash part of my order could total over %5.00 for a tiny treat of cat food ( I was using EBT for food ). He just shrugged his shoulders. I told him that I wasn't going to pay that amount of money for an item that is $1.80. He just stood there. Then I went through everything ( while he just stood there and looked around ) and I realized that at the last minute I did buy another non-food item. I told him I found what it was. He couldn't care less. I gave him a $20.00 bill for the rest of the items. He threw the change back at me, onto a little counter near the credit card machine. I said " you're welcome ". He ignored me. He was not only rude and nasty, he was disgraceful. If he HATES his job so much let him leave. His name is John and he was at cash register # 6 at 7:25 PM tonight, Sunday, September 11th, 2011.
Why have you changed your ice cream? Not only is the packaging different, but the ice cream is far inferior to the old one..ie vanilla bean.
