Let me start by saying that I love the food at Panera -- well what little there is! I am a loyal customer, but I am tired of paying nearly $10.00 for a plate of lettuce with very few toppings. A small plate of lettuce - that seems to be getting smaller. I recently went through the drive through. When I got home, while I am happy to see all that Panera does to go green, I found a very small full sized salad! Disappointing. $10.00 for a salad is crazy! Especially when I have to clean my place up when I am done and pick up my own food in the first place. I can go to a local chain restaurant, sit down, be served and receive a salad that is often times large enough for the whole table to share. Something has to change. I am afraid I am done for a while.
I usually love Panera. Card member, etc. For the first time I visited the Panera at Jordan Creek Mall. Rude staff. Stood there foever not waited on. Took my wallet snd left...Hello Starbucks!
PLEASE bring back good music! Panera went against the dumbing-down of musical taste in America by presenting a fine selection of Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, and many others. All that has changed. The current drivel may satisfy the Philistines, but it alienates and actually produces indigestion in the musically discerning. Everything else is fine.
I love Panera bread. I don't know why so many people are giving bad reviews. I live in upstate New York and my Panera has such a nice cafe feel with a fire place and cute dessert display and lounge area it's just great! The food is so good and while not everything is completely healthy for you they do provide a list of ingredients along with the amount of calories and carbs etc. and besides no one is forcing you to eat it everyday. They do bake everything fresh and I know this for a fact because I have friends who work there. I have never had a problem with customer service nor cleanliness and nor have I ever been jipped out of my whole portion of food. I feel that the people writing bad comments probably just had a bad experience with a rude employee ( which has nothing to do with the restraunt chain as a whole) or the particular store in their town just needs better management. I however have nothing but good things to say about the place and the food. :)
I want to start by saying that I usually have no problems at restaurants. Last Sunday I went to the panera bread in Greensburg mall. I had the worst service ever! I received my ordered a Sierra turkey sandwich with no onions. Upon sitting down and picking up my sandwich I realized that the bottom of my bun was practically non existant. When I returned it to the counter the employee behind the counter already knew what the problem was before the manager even had to say anything. When the manager gave me back my sandwich he practically threw it at me. At this point and time I did not know that it was the manager. I got back to my seat to realize that there were onions on my sandwich. I am severely allergic to onions and if I would not have noticed I could have ended up in the hospital. When I asked to speak to the manager J.P. came over. At this point I realize the rude man at the counter was in fact the manager. I told him that I was allergic to onions. He said he would get e a new sandwich. He never apologized or anything. Not to mention that the employee alteady knew that the sandwich was made incorrectly. I believe that there should be standards as to what can pad through the counter. I was so appalled by J.P., the managers, actions that I left! It was the worst service I have ever had! I was moving into college on a tight schedule. Needless to say I did not get to eat. I left my name and number on a panera survey to be contacted and have yet to be contacted. I would appreciate if someone would comment back and let me know who I should contact to have this issue resolved!
This was the worst sandwich I have ever had. Two pieces of meat on a six dollar sandwich. It was disgusting & the service at the location in Williamsburg was very poor. Rude employees/Managers!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE!!!! GO TO TASTE UNLIMITED INSTEAD IF YOU HAVE ONE IN YOUR AREA!!!!
Panera- La Verne CA On Saturday morning, I took my 2 teenage daughters to Panera for a late breakfast. I frequent this location often, but this time was the quiet different. The manager (didnt get her name) but was a short caucasian young women with absolutely no Customer Service skills or Interpersonal skills and rude as heck. One of my daughters who is a quiet and polite 15 yr old who doesnt utilize sugar, asked for cinnamon, the manager without word pointed to the coffee counter and said, "there", it wasnt cinnamon it was cinnamon and sugar in a shaker they normally use behind the counter, so my daughter used it not thinking to say otherwise. We received our food (order was wrong) and I had to ask for our frozen lemonade (I'm sure breakfast sandwhiches take longer to make than frozen lemonade. No apologizes were given yet rolled eyes were given to myself, my 15 year and my other daughter). Along with this when I placed my order, I didnt have my panera card and the cashier (older lady) said she had a line so she couldnt look it up, I spent over 25 dollars and failed to give me a receipt. I also frequent Rancho Cucamonga, Newport Beach and West Covina Panera and have never gotten service like this. Shame on you Panera for poor management, if corporate doesnt step in and make sure management rightfully represents your name, there will be no long-term growth.
Your food is good but your politics is bad. This is in reference to your company allowing phone banks in your establishments to propagate Obamacare! You have lost a good customer over this & hope you loose a lot more!
I do not like the panara in atlanta Ga! The employees are lazy all they do is play around their whole shift, then when its time to go they drop everything and dont even take the consideration to help clean up for the next shift. Every sence this NANCY person came on,the sean everything has been jacked up..... FEDUP!

DEAR PANERA BREAD COMPANY, I found your website database with a search in Google. CAN YOU HELP ME? My story is two-fold. My wish may seem small to someone else; for me it is monumental and time sensitive. The company I worked for was sold out of state to a virtual conglomerate. There I was with no health insurance and no money coming in at age sixty. What happened next was good and not so good. I struggled trying to make ends meet. After my savings was gone, I thought what was going to happen to me (I sold most of my valuable possessions, jewelry and more) to support my living expenses. I kept applying to job ads with no success. With my creative talent (graphic arts and office management), you would think that I could locate a job in no time. Well, it did not work out that way. Today’s corporate world seeks young, great-looking employees – some with no experience. Our employment hiring system sucks! Becoming very sick I would have to see someone medically or be taken to the emergency hospital for tests. Finally, by the grace of God, my girlfriend took me to the neighborhood free medical clinic. I was diagnosed with diabetes – Type 2! It was there that I learned so much about myself from a great female doctor. One thing led to another; I became a volunteer with the diabetes class the clinic gives once a week. This service helps people like me that cannot afford most medical supplies, checkups and testing. Yes, I am now a diabetic – very healthy, too. Much research is done for these classes by me who helps the people learn and conquer their diabetes problems. We provide professional education including lectures, free books, pamphlets and recipes to guide everyone to a healthier path in life. Since going to this clinic, all of my vitals are now normal and I feel great! Then, disaster struck again with my health. I have now been diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy. If it is not taken care of, I may go blind in a few years. So, back to square one - where do I go, who do I turn to, how can someone help me? Searching for a solution, I came across the Lions Club (sight foundation) which helps people with one surgery per person’s application. After being diagnosed by an ophthalmologist, I found I would need several of these procedures. In order to have 20/20 vision again, I would need medical care in removing the problems in my eyes. It will be a long and painful process with needles and laser treatments. The tests were conclusive on this. I have written, spoke with and emailed many organizations with the same reply as the Lions Club – limitations on the dollar amount for surgeries allowed per person or we are not able to help you. I have an ophthalmologist exam saved for your review, if necessary. So, I come to you. In your travels around the world, do you know of any other charities, foundations or organizations that can help support me with the required surgeries financially? My time with sight is limited and I am desperately searching for a solution of how to fund the surgeries! Do you know of any corporations, contacts or personal individuals that may help me? Is there anyone giving out there who would be generous with their heart to help my sight? My girlfriend says that “God is not done with me yet.” I share everything about me with our Diabetes Class. Maybe my lectures will help one more person to good health. I believe that each person has that right to be well. And, I will always be at the clinic helping someone while I can. Being in a volunteer position, no money is gained from the clinic, yet I am fulfilled that I could help someone achieve better health. My phone is out of order at the moment. I have included my email and mail address should you like to reply to my letter. Thank you for taking the time to listen. Maria A. Scharaldi, PO BOX 21466, ST. My grandmother is passing soon with cancer. I visited her the other day and she was telling me about how she really wanted soup, but not hospital soup because she said it tasted "awful" she went on about how she really would like some clam chowder from Panera. Unfortunately Panera only sells clam chowder on Friday. I called the manager Sue and told them the situation. I wasn't looking for anything special just a bowl of clam chowder. Without hesitation she said absolutely she would make her some clam chowder. When i went to pick it up they wound up giving me a box of cookies as well. Its not that big of a deal to most, but to my grandma it meant a lot. I really want to thank Sue and the rest of the staff from Panera in Nashua NH just for making my grandmother happy. Thank you so much! Brandon Cook Wilton NH
I saw this on Facebook thought I would pass it on! ;-) Good job! Gail Cook > Panera Bread Wednesday at 1:51pm · My grandmother is passing soon with cancer. I.d like to know how your company justifies hiring teenage girls then breaking the labor laws & scheduling them to work way more hours than the law allows & work hours which also conflict with child labor laws. After watching my 16 yr old daughter repeatedly scheduled during school hours I told her to notify her manager (katrina) that she could not work then & the managers threatened her job & told her she was going to be written up. Its disgusting that your company expands and profits off the backs of overworked & UNDERPAID CHILDREN. Shame on you panera!! I had my child quit & fully intend to contact a child labor attorney to review my childs timecards. Maybe you should hire managers who are above the age of 20 & can handle management without pushing the responsibility onto the shoulders of kids. the store I refer to is the panera in clearwater mall, clearwater, florida. Maybe u should look into their practices of running this iocation since it makes the whole company look like a sweatshop from a third world country.
Why do I go through the drive through in your new location at north ridgville and very time I order Mac an cheese I have to wait over 45 min????? What's the point of having sonthing on the menu that that takes that long?
In Macon, Georgia. Matthew Harper is one of the nicest people I have met. Looks super busy, but frequently makes time to make sure we are satisfied. Really above and beyond. Even picks up bread donations from his store at night and delivers them to local organizations. Thats why I eat at Panera.
Dear Panera, I love your restaurants. The one here in southwest Fort Wayne is awesome! The Manager, Kevin, is super to deal with. He is very kind and considerate. I have another job otherwise I would consider working there. The food is yummy too! Thanks.
This is not a complaint, we go to Panera Bread in High Point and Greensboro, NC quite often. I was given the My Panera card to register on line and I have tried several times and I can't seem to get to the right site. My card # is 5032 9992 5753, my e-mail address is nina_mcvay@yahoo.com if you can help or give me advice how to get it registered. Sorry to be so dense. ha. Nina McVay
I love Panera, but after this problem.....:-( I was at a fund raiser recently and won a coupon for a free once a month loaf of fresh bread, every month for a year! So excited I went in to talk to the Manager at the Brockton, Belmont Street Panera in Massachusetts, and he looked at the coupon and said I cant honor this, the date had been written in as July 2012, written by someone at Panera Well, the fund raiser was Sept 18, 2012. So... This was ridiculous! Why would there be a donation coupon made to expire before the benefit? All I could think of is that someone wrote the date wrong? Regardless, your fresh breads ranged in price between $2-$6 a loaf. Would this really have been a Problem? You were going to Gain customers and make more money! I really thought this was poor business especially where it was won by buying raffel! Very upset! And would like to know why I would go back in there if that is how you do things? I believe it is bad business!
