I frequent the Panera on East Broad near Reynoldsburg NewAlbany rd in Columbus Ohio. The last dozen times I sat down with my morning coffie and pastry your baked goods had the dryness of day old products. I go in at 8:00 am. The trays are mostly full and every thing looks great, Why dry ? What gives ?
I work at Panera in California and I only have worked here for maybe 2 months. The managers are very rude. They are always saying make sure the work you do doesn't take too much time. Sometimes this place is filthy and I prefer to take my time to clean it for the customers. The general manager is truely unfair. She never investigates problems that the employees bring to her, rather just believe the managers. The owner himself is friends with her, so no point in complaining to him. The managers talk about employees behind their back. Some of the associates try to boss the other associates around and then get upset when they don't listen. They monitor your breaks and try to send you back early. They keep you later and don't even say thank you. This place is just in shambles. They really need to get themselves together. I wish corporate would actually do something
The cashier / manager or ass. Manager had a bad attitude as she was training a new employee, and would not accept a 100.00 dollar bill. And then did not hesitate to cancel my order and move on to the next customer I think it was very rude and not professional . The restaurant was in the Ohio turnpike on the side going north. I do not recommend this establishment to any good paying customer. As they are a scar on the franchise.
wow where do I begin I visited the panera on 86 in Lexington with my 3kids first of all the Ac was broken the place was beyond packed it was so hot the cashiers was beyond rude and got my order wrong they didn't even give me my pastries for my kids there was no seating for me and my girls there was a young lady who did helped me named khrystina she not only got me my right order and my kids pastries but also found me a seat and was so kind and I must say I was pretty rude to her cause of all the energy there but she did her job and most definitely made me and my girls comfortable so thank you for that but as far as this store goes I don't know if I would even come back and eat here to many rude people and not even a manager helped me out I would not recommend this store to anybody!
Panera Bread, Waterbury, CT. The dining room is dirty most of the time. Tables are not wiped often and coffee counter is horribly dirty with coffee spills and sugar all over. Coffe is not fresh. There is no lavatory cleanliness at all during the day. Horrible to walk in the women's bathroom. Recently a customer found a hair in her sandwich and another customer found a piece of plastic in her soup. The area where the employees prepare the sandwiches is soiled most of the time. If there would be a 0 stars option that would be my choice. Overall satisfaction is none at all. Panera seemed to be the best place to eat but now it seems to just be going downhill. If it looks like that in the dining room area and counter area I could just imagine how horrible the back looks. No no for Panera Bread Waterbury CT.
Panera San Marcos. terrible management. My manager is rude to his employees, always talking down to us. Very spiteful and never appreciative. the place has black mold problems he won't pay to fix. the compensation was terrible for the hard work this stressful job took. Not accommodating when it comes to scheduling.
Place sucks. I have put so much stress and sweat in this company to receive nothing really. I was promoted for a couple months and still have not received the raise that I was told was mandatory with promotion. I also do not get my pay stubs mailed to me for god knows why. I have asked the GM to check if my address is correctly entered in the system and he is just far to fucking busy to check my address. What will I do when tax season comes and they send my W2 to a different house? I feel no respect from management when I do way more manual labor than them. Yeah they say they work a lot but they arent under the stress they give the workers. Every day I sweat and deal with shitty customers all for a paycheck that isnt even worth it. Panera warmth is just for the ungrateful customers and zero of it is for the employees. Its just really frustrating to have to truly dislike your job. It could be so much better but will never with all the narrow minded management.
I love Panera Bread! I'm a teacher and my friends and I even go there on Saturdays to plan and grade papers. Everything is great except the music! I vote for you to change to great classical music instead of the very dreary blues. Thanks for listening. - Jan
Kudo to Panera Bread , Chicago for changing your concept to Panera Cares! This is what our youth needs to see and experience! My hat off to you! Job well done!
As a Panera employee I'd like to just mention a few things in general to any customer willing to listen. Firstly, Panera Bread stores run out of things from time to time. It's called the "supply chain", and it isn't always foolproof or guaranteed. We can't always assume that everything we order will arrive 100% of the time. I know this may come as a shock to the soccer moms (at least the ones who even notice, given the cell phone glued to the ear during the transaction). To the typical impatient American, especially the holders of the magical "MyPanera Card": The "MyPanera" system is sort of independent from daily in-store operations. We can't explain why you're not amassing 8 free items per week. If I could predict this, I wouldn't be schleping Bagels for a living. And yes, you have to actually REGISTER the card online....the number of slack-jawed dimwits who don't do this, then expect more freebies than their stapled stomachs can endure....oyyyy. And to those cardholders waiting "forever" in line: You know, it would knock wait time down considerably if you actually used your head and A) decided what you want WHILE waiting, and B) didn't wait until transaction time to conduct the search for said "MyPanera" card. Finally- if you are in a ratty looking cafe, one with broken furniture and equipment, it is because the Panera Bread corporate wankers actually reduce the store managers bonuses when the have the nerve to actually replace anything. It's called normal wear and tear, corporate weenies !! (Note: I am not a manager, and don't intend to stay around long enough for the chance).
Message for President - Our family just saw your commercial and everyone said for our safety and sanitation, can you please show them touching the food wearing clean gloves. Too many germs on our kids and adults. Thanks
Would you please build a Panera Store in Enterprise, Alabama, 36330 There was one built in Dothan, Alabama recently. It is about 45 minutes from Enterprise. We could support a store of our own here. FYI there is a Publix Grocery Store here as well. Thanks. Hope you come to our town.
I agree, Panera Bread is one of the worst places to work at. I've worked there for three months and enjoyed it for the first few weeks, everyone had a smile and thought life was good, but behind the scenes, you find unfriendly and unwelcoming managers who don't truly care for the employees. For example, For the majority of my employment, I've been put up at the front register to take orders because I am particularly good at filing out orders at a quick pace, I help out with dining room and coffee whenever possible and maintain and optimistic day. Yesterday however, the General manager decided to put me as the only person working dining room, I had no problem with it and went about my work steadily, keeping up with the coffees and cleaning tables. Then, the GM asked me to make a full batch of coffee, I accidentally did the batch ontop of another batch of coffee, ruining the batch completely, A simple mistake made him yell at me for not doing it right. It was the only time he called me out on anything, I then took out the trash and went on break. As I returned he yelled at me for being slow, and asked I stay after my shift for him to speak to me. I waited an hour after my shift was done for him to find time to talk to me, An hour after clocking out. He then ridiculed me on my performance, saying his twelve year old son does it better than me. I can't quit because this is my only source of income right now, but I am continously searching for another job. For anyone wishing to work with Panera, I highly advise for you not to, The managers do abuse their power and generally do not care if they offend you or not.
I was hired as a Baker September 2011 along with a young guy. I agreed to work a 40 hour a week job and then the manager decided for no apparent reason to demote me to "assistant" at part time. I was an old lady, and the 2 guys joked around and really liked each other. The discrimination was thick in the air. I could not make a living at this pay rate, or under these circumstances. The baker he decided to send on to full time (and train fully) was the young man who also was hard to work with, used to beat the walls, shriek like a child having a tantrum, and throw thing like pans at me. At one point I thought I would not get out of there without a black eye. I left the job after he had a nasty tantrum. When I accepted the job, a contract had been made. I had expected full time work, and the benefits a full time worker is entitled to. I was outraged that I was arbitrarily demoted. I hung on and left just when the holidays were starting to get hot and heavy. I wanted those people to feel some of the pain I felt. Panera is a Horrible place to work for. They discriminate. They hire nutcases. They abuse their workers and lie. I also have to add that the back kitchen is the filthiest place I have ever worked. There were flies everywhere. Work at Panera at your own risk. They still make good bread, but it's not worth it.
I work at a Panera Bread and it is probably the worst company to work for. The cafe I work at is horrible. The managersabuse their power and talk about their employees behind their backs. They also favor employees. I called out sick for my next shift and got yelled at even though i had a doctors note, but one if the kids I work with knew the GM before he worked here and calls out and shows up late all the time and nothing ever gets done about that. I work my butt off there and get treated like shit. Its the most unfair place I have ever worked at! Don't go to Panera. It is prbably the worst company ever. They dont know how to manage things. My current GM yells at her employees in front of guests, gives attitude to customers, and she is the most incompetent person I have ever met!
Thank you for all of your reviews. I am a manager for Panera in Indiana and am happy to see that all of these comments are not from our stores. Managers do not generally read these comments because as it states, this is not sent to Panera or affiliated any way with Panera. If you are trying to make change, perhaps you should actually contact Panera. Furthermore, our store is very clean and receives close to the top ratings from customer surveys about quality of food and of the staff.
I worked at Panera for about a month, which according to my coworkers was the average for most newcomers. I experienced teasing and discrimination from my first day which made me very nervous to go to work. As I continued working there, it became clear that I was not wanted there as I asked a coworker to check my schedule and he deliberately told me the wrong day and time. I had to work at 6 the next morning, but he told I didn't need to come in until after the weekend in the afternoon. Almost everyone I worked with was relentless in teasing and complaining about me, including the managers (often in Spanish thinking I couldn't understand). Altogether Panera warmth is BS, and it is not a welcoming or even comfortable environment to work in.
the anderson south carolina panera bread store is the worst bakery I have ever been in. It is managed by a really you man who has no experience and allows his employees to do anything they want including run off customers
I'm moving to Kirksville, MO which is rated "The Brightest Little Town" in the country. It has Truman State University, Still School of Osteopathy, and has broken ground for a new dental school. It is in desparate need of a Panera Bread Company. Please consider the value of providing one there!!!
Renee, a manager at the Houston Memorial City store. Attacked me at the counter at 7 am, Thursday July 12. She began by turning to me and giving me a "death look". She then started accusing me of "Runnin' off them Catholic Girls that used to come in here". I had know idea what she was talking about, and thought she was kidding. I then figured out that she was talking about a group from YoungLife based out of Memorial High School who would regularly meet there. She informed me that Daniel (another manager), had asked me to leave because I confronted the kids about not cleaning up after themselves. This accusation was patently false.I have never said a single word to anyone in that group, to which I am SURE they will attest to. In addition, Daniel never told me to leave, which I am SURE that he will attest to. This crazed woman was wagging her finger in my face and screaming at me, saying "You be costin' me business in MY store". Daniel obiously told her he asked someone to leave, obviously described a middle-aged white man, and obviously it WAS NOT me. Daniel was at the store managing the day before, and it was a normal day. Daniel is cordial and professional. Renee is neither of those, not fit to work with the public, and acts as a Racist and Anti-Semite with her vitriolic, prejudiced attack.
