I have used Merle Norman since I was 19 yrs old and I am now turning 42. I cannot afford to pay for less and less product. I used to get a free gift when purchasing 2 of your products and can't remember when was the last time I received a free gift. Love yuor products but can no longer afford to make special trips to buy them only to find out you are re-packaging again and are out of the products I am completely out of. Cover Girl here I come. :(
I have been with Merle Norman since I was thirteen and will be turning 66 this year. You should be ashamed of the horrible changes you have made. Not to the good at all. I will never buy another product from you, what you are trying to sell now is the poorest quality I have ever seen. You sure did mess up. I sure hope you clean up your act or you are going to lose a lot more business. Change your name and go back to the best quality ever, you have ruined the Merle Norman name forever. Goodbye.
I also just bought my favorite and only foundation I have ever used since I was 16 years old. I am 35 yrs old and very disappointed with my purchase of the total finish. I bought it and got it out to use and saw the new size. I took it back today to get my money back. The sales lady at Towers Square in Roanoke, VA was very argumentative with me. She kept saying it was only 1/ 15th of a gram smaller. I kept saying it was 1/3 smaller. It went from .80 to .55. That is a third smaller. She talked to me like I was stupid. You lost a good loyal customer of 18 yrs and my mother as well. I have found my new foundation and I can use coupons on it which will save me more money. Thanks Merle Norman for forcing me to give up your foundation.
I have used total finish for years and love this product. However, the last three compacts that it comes in have broken with the first two or three uses. It then smears all over the other products around it - what a mess!!! I am considering going to another cosmetic company. If Merle Norman doesn't care more about the product and package of their product, then they don't need our business.
I have also used Merle Norman Total Finish Medium Deep Neutral for over 30 years. The new formula that you say is the same is in fact NOT the same. Talk about disappointed. You have lost a loyal customer.
I won't be cheated again by merle norman. I'm changing to Clinique as soon as my compact runs out. Your customers aren't stupid.
I also am insulted by your attempt to rip off your customers by charging the same price for significantly less Total Finish product. Really? Do you think your customers are that stupid? I am a professional business person and need to have a flawless appearance. For nearly 30 years, Merle Norman has helped me accomplish that objective. In my opinion, it is the best foundation on the market. With that said, I will buy from your competitors going forward. When I discovered the ridiculously small amount of product in your new packaging, it felt like a slap in the face. It's an embarrassment that you think that little of the women who have made you successful. Shame on you.
I worked for Merle Norman back in the 70's and I still use it now. I WOULD LIKE SOMEONE TO CONTACT ME!!! I went into the Merle Norman studio in Walker La, and for the SECOND time was overcome with the fragrance candle burning in such a small place! For the second time, I had to rush to get my products and RUN out the door before having a severe allergic reaction and coughing attack in the parking lot! Both times I adamantly expressed how strong the candle was, and got no response. I think since fragrance is personal preference, a franchise should not burn these strong candles, making the customer captive audience. I will not be buying my products at the Walker, La. franchise, even though I live in Walker, making it very incovenient for me. Unfortunately have to choose to breathe unhindered by strong, repugnent fragrances!!!! PLEASE send a phone number I can call someone in PERSON....the internet provided no way to call anyone and I had to resort to this inferior medium for my consumer rights. Julie Kelly
Merle Norman-why do you wish to cheat your customers with the amount of Total Finish Compact Makeup in your NEW compact case? Company Greed? Who the hello see's that new case other than the user? The past white case was smaller and fit the purse just right. The NEW clumsy one I'd like to throw far away! Besides, the mirror fell out of 3 of them already upon just opening it up! High price and less product! Shame on you Merle Norman CEOs etc! I been using your products for over 25 years, so I guess it is time to change to another company that appreciates my business. Big package, smaller product within! What a shame.And the price keeps climbing, but I bet your Income and Bonuses keep climbing also. I hope your company goes belly up as you continue to loose your devoted customers.I'm changing to another supplier!!!!!!! No more Merle Norman products for me !!!!!!
I have used the total finish compact for over 30 years and cannot fathom why the company would want to cheat its customers. Same price for a product with only 5.5 of what used to be 8 ounces is downright lunacy in a marketing concept. If you want to keep your customers happy with all the change to mineral make-up, you should have thought twice before putting customer service in jeopardy. Merle Norman is a Southern Tradition for many of us my age. In addition, my 15 year-old daughter reluctantly tried it and loved it. I know many younger women who wear it because of its flawless coverage. However, from now on , ease the customer into a gradual reduction of the product. This little compact won't last 2 months! 5 STARS for the makeup-----0 STARS for customer satisfaction! Angry in Sulphur!
I am 64 yrs old and have used Merle Norman since I was 17...thats 47 yrs folks. Recently when the total finish went to half the amount and the price stayed the same, I was insulted. Did they think we wouldn't notice? I expressed my great disappointment to the MN owner...her answer was, it was a long time coming and was necessary. I said well I won't be back and she said, others have said the same thing but they have come back. Well guess what ...not me. I will not be blatantly ripped off. To many choices and great products out there. I have adjusted well. Merle Norman is a good product but not worth the price increase and product decrease.
I too have been using Merle Norman products for over 40 years---since I was 13 years old! It's interesting to me to see how many others are decades-long loyal customers---but I must join with them in saying that you've just highly insulted your long-time and loyal customers by charging more and giving less. That's a trick Campbell's soup plays---I never expected it from MN! With ALL the hundreds of cosmetic lines (many drugstore discounted) and competing for the consumer's dollars in these hard times, you should have been smarter than that. There are SO many new primers and technically researched foundations (for aging skin!!) and I've been looking for an excuse to try. You just gave me that excuse, Merle Norman. Farewell from me, too... There comes a point when you're no longer worth it...
I am 63 and have been using merle norman powder base since i was 15 years old. I love the product. For my age my skin is is great condition. I also use alot of your other products. My concern is the price, I feel you would have alot more customers if you lowered the price, or gave us more for the price. Keep up the good work but please keep my favorite product within my reach.
I am irate over this !!!! i ve been using the total finish since my wedding, b/c i went for the makeover, after 7 years they keep the SAME PRICE and its NOT cheap and they pretty much act like were STUPID and wont notice u get HALF THE PRODUCT. NOT BUYING ANYMORE, times are hard for every one, STOP PRICE GOUGING US !!!! Your product is supposed to bring out a womans confidence and make her feel better and beautiful and its a great product, but a real woman doesnt appreciate being ROBBED BLIND.... FIX IT BACK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Merle Norman is the best. I'm always greeted by friendly, beautiful staff and someone is always willing to answer any of my questions or concerns. This is a high quality company, and my only complaint is the packaging..I wish it had not changed for the worse. It looks nice, but is less functional and some things have less product too :(. As for the prices, I know that's up to the individual store owners.. One request from me...how about a lighter shade in the Flawless Effect Foundation? It's awesome stuff but way too dark for my sun-protected skin!

Iv purchased Merle Norman cosmetic my entire life and when I asked for my usuale foundation and she sat that in the counter I said WHAT.. and for the same price NO WAY.. first time in many years I'm going to haft to find something else .. I refuse to purchase tht amount for the same price .. RIP OFF.. and my mother and four sister also feel the same .. I'm recommended you to many coworkers who compliment my makeup and now they will go else where also... CHANGE IT BaCK!!!!!
I have used Merle Norman products since 1968. I'm saddened to say, I'm so dissappointed in the packaging of the products. I use total finish and now I must buy two instead of one because of the fact there is less make up in the compact. After the forth use of the total finish, the compact broke. I also use the Luxiva powder and that compact broke after the third use. Mind you, I've purchased 3 compacts in the past few months and they all broke. What on earth is going on? It's such an insult to short change your loyal customers. You are, without a doubt, going to lose a tremendous amount of consumers. I hate to move on because I love the product. However, I think it's necessary because I don't think the company will be around much longer.
I am very un happy with the new total finish foundation from Merle Norman. I feel like I have just gotten ripped off. I have used this product for 20 years. NO MORE! I am moving on. Any suggestions for a new foundation?
I am 59 years old - have been using Merle Norman Total Finish Medium Deep Neutral Foundation since I was 18. I went to the franchise in Kamloops, B.C. at the Aberdeen Mall to purchase this product - not only was I told it wasn't a Merle Norman Product, but after considerable promting via asking the sales person to investigate the product - she found I was right and could order in the make up I was asking for - I was told I would have to purchase not 1 but 3 of the Total Finish makeup and also that I had to pre-pay for it before it would be brought in. I drove 60 minutes to the store to buy the product - it would seem to be I was pretty sincere in my plan to purchase it. I was told not only that I was mistaken and that it wasn't a Merle Norman product, but that perhaps due to the packaging change, I wasn't recognizing the products that they did have available as being my total finish. HOGWASH - I know what I was looking for and was excited when she brought it up on her computer and told me I could get it if they ordered it in - but to have to buy 3 of them - and PREPAY?????? What's wrong with this picture. I want the Total Finish Medium Dark Neutral and will do damn near anything to get it - after the fiasco I have been through, buying 3 isn't a problem - as the product will probably last longer than I will at my age.
