I work for a Merle Norman! I feel like im being used and get paid enough!
I've been u$ing MN $ince I wa$ a teenager (am now 55). Bought Total Fini$h ye$terday and wa$ $ad to $ee the new packaging; however, THE WOR$T PART I$ YOU'VE $HRUNK THE CONTENT BIG-TIME!!! Why change the amount... $o you can make more money??? Hmmmm . . . Get u$ back in the $tore quicker????? The Total Fini$h compact formerly held .80 oz of product. Now it'$ only .55 oz. You're "giving" u$ 30% LE$$ product. That i$ a HUGE DECREA$E IN PRODUCT for our hard-earned ca$h. I've read you've changed the formulation of the product a$ well; if that'$ true, I am doubly di$appointed. You're not doing well by your cu$tomer$. We do notice thing$ like thi$ -- paying more and GETTING LE$$! There are plenty other QUALITY makeup companies who value long-term customers; you obviou$ly do not. I will be looking for another foundation. Estee Lauder, I'm sure, has a similar product and rewards its customers with nice giveaways and promotions. Very $ad what you're doing ... you are lo$ing long-time cu$tomer$ by your blatant greed. Not $mart; not at all. Al$o, $17 for an eyebrow pencil!!! Wa$ 100% WA$TE. Tried to $harpen it and every $ingle time, it broke. Will never be $tupid enough to do that again. *IT* wa$ NOT a quality product at all. :(
I wrote Merle Norman to complain about the smaller size compact and weight for Total Finish makeup. I recieved an email stating the costs had to go up because of the manufacturing prices. The size was reduced by 1/3. Needless to say I will find another product for the same price but more of it.
I have used your Ultra foundation for many years and HATE the new packaging. I cannot stress in words how much I HATE it. First, the mirror is a joke. It is so small my granddaughter wouldn't be able to use it. The mirror fell out today! just great. Second, The product itself doesn't cover as well as it did before. You changed it somehow and NOT for the better. Third, you are selling less of a product at the same way inflated price. Fourth, while waiting for the "new packaging" I had to be out of foundation for over 3 months!!!!! That is ridiculous. I will be doing as others have and start trying to find something else that works for me. Bad mistake to change a product that people love and works well. I have never had an issue paying a higher cost for what I felt was a quality product. However, now, I know longer feel that way. I feel like I got my make up at Wal-mart this time. The case alone is cheap. You are a company that charges a lot for your make up and as such you should be giving a high quality item.
I have used Merle Norman for over 20 years and loved it until now. The new luxiva packaging not only looks cheap and boring, but the last two times I have bought it, I have found it is cheaply made as well. My luxiva ultra powder foundation compact broke into 2 pieces both times I have reluctantly gave it a shot... Very annoying. Also very annoying the way you have to fool around with the ill-designed compact to get the sponge out to do a quick touch up! (no offense gentlemen, but this makes me wonder if a male designed the new compact?) My grandmother and mother have used your product forever and they introduced me to MN on my 16th birthday. I have always thought the beautiful pearl and gold packaging made me feel feminine, special and unique- like my mother and grandmother. The new packaging isn't even as nice as some drug store make up. Please bring back the classic MN. 3 generations are about to lose their minds over this and MN has lost their faithful following... :'(
I am very unhappy with the translucent loose powder that I purchased today. I have been using this product for years and have highly recommended it. However, I went to The Villages store in Florida to purchase a new jar of the powder. The jar was smaller and higher priced. I commented that this jar looked so much smaller than the one I purchased last. The saleslady lied and said "oh no, it's the same size just different packaging". Well, when I got it home the old jar was 4 oz and the new jar is 1 oz. So, I am really upset because I feel she was trying to divert me. Furthermore, the jar itself is hard to open with the plastic piece (which I remove) inside. The appplicator is much smaller too. I am seriously thinking about returning this product and asking for my money back. I don't like being mislead and this is not the product I wanted to purchase. MN you just lost another customer!
I can't believe you have stopped making Merle Norman Sheer Translucent Face Powder in the white plastic container with the gold lid. My Mother and I have both used this for many years. I've tried the powder you offer now and do not like it at all. Please bring the old powder back.
I wrote Merle Norman on Jan 3, 2012 to express my dismay over the reduced package weight of the Ultra Powder Foundation. On Jan 6, 2012 I received the following reply: "Dear Susan, Thank you for contacting us at our corporate office. We understand your frustration with the our new packaging. We will pass your comments to our upper management team. When we came our with the new packaging for the Ultra Powder Foundation, there was a mistake made on the weight claim. The changes has been made and are currently being phased into our Merle Norman locations. Again, thank you for contacting us and for being our loyal customer over the years. We hope that you will change your mind about leaving us for another brand. " I did not change any wording in this email. (I am still have the emails.) I replied to find out exactly 'WHAT' the mistake on the weight claim was but to this day I still have not received an answer. Has anyone else attempted to contact them and actually done so successfully?? I, too, am switching to another brand. I have found one that I think will suit me just fine. I am still very disappointed that MN has reduced its packaging sizes. I guess they thought we wouldn't notice?? What they SHOULD have done was increase the package size and increased the price. I hate having to buy it so often. That would have made me happier and I would not have felt so jipped. Merle Norman.....you could have handled this in a much better way.
I have used Moisture Emulsion for 30 years. I tell so many women about this great product. Now, you have changed the formula and put in a fragrance. I have allergies and it immediately causes severe headaches and burning eyes. WHY would you do this? So many folks suffer from allergies and look for unscented products. You used to have great products but I see from the reviews that I am not alone in my disappointment in Merle Norman. Save your customers and go back to your original products!!! I, for one, will have to seek another company as I can no longer use the products I once loved. What a bad corporate decision.
I have used Moisture Emulsion for decades. I loved the product. I recently bought the new packaging one and was told it was the same...no fragrance. I have had such a terrible reaction to it as I have bad allergies. There IS fragrance in it right on the label! It has caused terrible headaches and burning eyes. WHY would you change products that people depend on for years? PLEASE go back to the original formula or you will force many women to find alternatives to the Merle Norman line.
To all who use Total Finish, instead of using the waxy old compact up grade to M.N. Lasting foundation. It gives you excellent coverage without showing all those lines. That is the product I recomend.
I have been using Merle Norman Total Finish foundation for 14 years. I went in today to purchase some more from my local store (Winchester, VA).The sales lady had never heard of the shade I needed. After researching, she did discover it was a shade after all, however, they didn't have any and said there was no way to order and get it in before a month!!!!!
I have been using your products for over 20 years. But with the change in the sizes for the smaller and the new packaging is not good at all. I will not be using this anymore. People don't enjoy getting ripped off. I hope u Go back to the old packaging Before you go belly up.
I am going to buy my products from just estee lauder...I spend the same money as I do at estee lauder..and they give me a free beach bag, mascara, lipstick, big bottle of wrinkle cream (Im 25 haha) cream clenser and toner! I always get a great gift from estee lauder and when I go to merel norman they are stengy on the silly samples and I DEF. dont ever get a free gift. I have been a merel norman shopper for many years. I will find my foundation, blush, lipglosses ect. at estee lauder exclusively now. BESIDES 75% of your stuff has to much shimmer in it...FYI shimmer looks cheap..especially if its in blush! If I want shimmer Ill go grab sum covergirl or wet and wild.
I am so upset and disgusted. The Merle Norman Store in Humble,Texas has closed due to some decision by the corporate office. I want the corporate office to know this was a very bad decsion. Numerouse customers I have read are very upset about this horrible situation that you have caused. Also, what about Ms. Stephanie? She was awesome and I would know I have used the store for at least 9 years. Ms. also had excellent customer service.
I have been using Merle Norman since the 1970's. Due to your prices not being as competitive, I have started using other brands for my lip and eye products. However, I love your skin and foundation products due to allergies. I noticed that Lasting Foundation has had a problem with packaging for some time. The outer black color on the tube starts coming off after several uses. It is hard to apply the foundation without getting the black flakes on your face. I spoke with Kathy (Baytown, Tx) who is wonderful and always so helpful. She was told the new packing would solve the problem. Not so and I just had the lid separate into two pieces. I would rather have a white plain box with a clear tube and lower prices than deal with this. In these economic times, go back to basics - a great product, a generous amount of product and put the money in decent packaging instead of eye catching colors.
I have been a very loyal Merle Norman Cosmetics customer for over 40 years. Started using the cleansing products as a young teen and never used anything else. Now I am very disappointed to discover I can no longer purchase the Definitive Eye Pencil (the one with the gold cap) in Taupe. I have been told Merle Norman has discontinued this product. WHY? It seems every time I use one of your products (eye pencil, lipsticks....) you discontinue making them. Yes, I know you make another eyebrow pencil in taupe (the twin packs & I have purchased), but I DO NOT like them. I prefer to sharpen my own pencil rather than twist a new point up....not to mention the color is definitely not the same on the twin packs..... I have been looking around for the past month trying to find something comparable to use and currently looking at an eyebrow pencil a friend sent me from MARY KAY that I am not really sure I'll like.....HELP! PLEASE BRING BACK THE DEFINITIVE EYEBROW PENCIL IN TAUPE. I am really disappointed in Merle Norman about this discontinued product. I could live without the others you discontinued, but I have used this particular eyebrow pencil every single day for the last SEVERAL years. PLEASE BRING IT BACK!
I've been using the Total Finish Compact Makeup for many years now however the new packaging is horrible and will be forced to find a new foundation.
I have used moisture emulsion for years due to the fact that I have asthma I cannot use a product with a fragrance the last time I purchased moisture emulsion it had a fragrance. The store claims it does not now have a fragrance funny the tube says on the ingredients fragrance. I wish it didn't have I love the stuff I wish you would take the fragrance out of it so I could use it. Thanking you in advance. Edith Rush
If you are over the age of thirty, please do not use Total Finish. All these complaints about Total finish can be resolved by buying Merle Norman's Lasting, and Flawless Effect. You get a full coverage without looking made up.Plus these are better and more suitable for older skin. The packaging has changed on these product BUT it's the same amount. Just a little FYI.
