Lowe's in Wilson NC fired their most helpful and polite associate in the lumber department. Perhaps it was because he was too much of a gentleman. He was always willing and able to help. Shame on you Lowe's.
The new Manager/HR Manager in the Herkimer NY store are showing favoritism, unethical behavior, and a complete an overall lack of professionalism in this store causing the moral to go down. They are picking and chosing who and when to reprimand with employees although the circumstances are the same. Several people are talking about quitting and have quit. This is sad because under prior leadership the store was successful and the moral was intact and people loved to come to work. The descion to make these two leaders whitout prior expirience was a bad decsion and disgrace to everything LOWES stands for. Perhaps you should issue an anonymous opinion survey to the staff and find out what is really going on in your building. Thank you. CE
Our daughter has been trying and trying to get hired at ANY Lowes in the nation. She has a law, business, and human resources background with a Master's degree. She is continually denied employment opportunities. I am a proud Father, but I see how much this bothers her, should I arrive in person at the Corporate Office? Something is definitely wrong here. The recruiters tell her she is well qualified and to keep applying, but yet she has not been hired yet? Anyone know how long it takes? What are your experiences? Do you have to be a minority to get hired faster? Thanks so much everyone. Richard
I ordered a set of kitchen cabinets and counter tops and paid to have it detailed on May 9, 2012. The cabinets were ordered without checking the detail. They weren't the right size, were installed but not correctly and not enough room was left for the dish washer. Tried to talk to a manager but was told to talk to the sales representative. Promises were made to fix everything but it's July 12, 2012 and no one has come to pick up the cabinets (so of course a refund can't be given and the correct cabinets can't be ordered). I have a cabinet and a board which the installers didn't know where to put sitting in my living room. I'm unable to put up the microwave/hood over the range because that cabinet, although the correct one was installed incorrectly, and discovered yesterday that the veneer at the bottom of the base cabinet next to my refrigerator is peeled up. Just wondered has anyone gone to arbitration and if so, what was the result? This is new home construction which means I still have decks, landscaping, patios etc. to put in but at this point will not be using Lowe's to do so.
Terrible, just will nottreat their customers right. I had a fire that burned my business to the ground and I had no income. I struggled to pay everyone including Lowe's. They first decreased my credit limit and then they cancelled my credit card, yet my new building products were purchased from lowe's. Real loyal aren't they. PS. I paid cash for all my materials.
I HAVE NEVER SEEN SUCH DOWN TIME WITH THE CASHIERS AT lowes...MY SISTER AND I DO OUR SHOPPING AT NIGHT...WE WENT TO 4 DIFFERENT DEPTS AND SAW OR DID NOT SEE ANY SALES HELP...WE RANG ALL THE ALERT BUTTONS ..NO ONE CAME OVER...HATE SHOPPING THERE NOW
I am debating if I should or should not comment....as a former employee of Lowes for 9 years & 3 months at the Brick NJ Store#: 1535 - a million dollar in sales per year, rated at the top 50 internationally & received many award letters from both Lowes Corp & Vendors. Many tomesmy sales carried the store's $$$$ by 25% at end of day count....back in 2004 , after 5 months in that store my kitchen department was up five hundred percent which earned my department the third 20/20 design computer....my kitchen department became elligable to carry three designers instead of two....so what went wrong???? I experienced bad treatment not only to me but others....If reported they are now on the list to be fired or humiliated enough on the floor so the employee will quit on his or her own....I know first hand because it happened infront of me. Store Manager: Thomas Forsman needs a dose of his own....why not put this Thomas Forsman on the floor as a specialist of a department and let's see how much good sales & no returns he makes!!! Thomas Forsman decided to terminate my daughter while on maternity leave....she finds out on the day she went back to work....Miraglia (hr) came to me & apologized wholehearted & said that she was told that my daughter was not coming back.....my daughter loved working for Lowes & was a hard serious worker. Miraglia (hr) tried to reinstate her after she terminated her and the only way was to rehire her in a different store o er one hour away....does anyone in Corporate care about this....my daughter had no choice but to move out so she may be closer to the store that hired her...WHAT MY DAUGHTER & MY WHOLE FAMILY ENDURED WAS SO HORRIBLE .... Another family member under Thomas Forsman gets demoted from appliance specialist to electrical dept of which he had no experience....Mind you that he helped the store because he was multi lingual... also top in sales in appliances....he got a big cut in his salary & no more spiffs ofcourse....SO WHEN HE COD NOT HELP A CUSTOMER, HE WOULD CALL THOMAS FORSMAN for help & of course Thomas Forsman could not help. Finally my friend was let go... That friend was my partner & now my husband. WHAT TOM FORSMAN, MATT CAMPBELL, Bill Burtain (install sales district mgr) & JIM MAROLDO DID FOR YEARS TO GET ME TO QUIT WAS DISPICABLE & TO WRONGFUL TERMINATE ME & TO NOT BE ABLE TO WORK FOR LOWES EVER WAS MORE THAN DISPICABLE...after all of my hard work which helped to put the Brick NJ Str#1535 on the map as a top store - how dare they play with humanity. I speak with a heavy accent & understand 9 languages... It was fun for me to meet with customers. I had repeated customers who moved after 5 years...I had huge kitchens of $ 80 thousands and without installation.... I had customers wanting to use Premier Designs because he was recommended & when I needed a change to Premier Designs, Tom Forsman, Matt Campbell & Bill Burdain will say NO & wrote me up... the abuse & stress was so high. Even when I informed about the strong desal smell so strong that I was feeling sick....literally the kitchen department desk was at the back of the store where the opening of recei Ing is.... Besides the extreme noises & the bad fumes that I had to put a scarf over my nose & mouth, I developed asthma & vent blowing a top of me was recirculating bad air & the huge problems with the birds....it was so bad that we had dead birds all over of which I was ordered to clean it even though I have respitory problems...I was written up for. It cleaning too...the worst was when I was designing with customer sitting across from me, bird poo falls between us & on my forehead. THOMAS FORSMAN WAS UNRESPONSIVE & AT MORNING MEETING WILL NOT EVEN LOOK AT ME. I HOLD JOE SIBERRY RESPONSABLE FOR NOT RESPONDING TO MY EMAIL WHEN I ASKED FOR HIS HELP TO TRANSFER ME TO ANOTHER STORE THAT MAY BENEFIT FROM MY SALES...do have that email too. I almost lost my home because we could not come up with the total monthly payment & we were in jeopardy for three years of my husband getting fired by Thomas Forsman... I could not help my daughter with her baby because she had to move....I have a trail of emails of proof & did win the unemoyment appeal....justice does exist. Thomas Forsman does not get a high grade.... He needs to stop being in the click. He needs to learn how to recognize those with talent & be able to use their abities best for the store... Making fun of people almost to enjoy the unfortunate reactions is prejudice & abusive. Why didn't I leave Lowes during my ordeal because I am 55 & I love the Company Lowe's and will not give those that wants to see me quit the satisfaction.... Am very stubborn for human rights & am not done. In all my life in design for over 30 years, I was never fired or let go from a job. As a matter of fact, I was published in the news & various magazines. I was one of 250 artists. Bowen from lover the world at the United Nations.....I am very serious with my work & no one is going to degrade my name. I never worked for a box store such as HD or Lowes & I wanted to stay working for Lowes till 65.... Was very happy with my 401k and ESOP....it is sad that my work life was determined by one person Thomas Forsman to terminate & interrupt my career at Lowes. I am looking for compensation of all the work I accomplished from the beginning when in 2002 I opened the Homdel store by wearing a hard hat & worked for $3 an hour after 40 hrs.....helped open the Toms River str#:1608 & filled their shelves & sold on their opening day...help train other associates from the Ocean, Howell & Manchester of NJ. This is outrageous especially that I was an exceptional emoyee & for Corporate not investigating what really goes on in their stores is allowing managers to abuse employees with their title whic is criminal. HAVE A LOT MORE BUT WILL LEAVE IT FOR THE BEST OF TIME.
I have a construction company and had bought some thins for a job in everett and the job was in yakima whenI went to return the left over parts the yakima store told me I had to go return them to everett I could not beleive its you merchandise no mater what store it came from you should return it to another lowes store thats not good customer service when us customer's its what keeps you in bussiness
Lowe's managers: IF your stores, ANY of your stores, are selling American flag doormats, then I ask you to cease and desist immediately, right now, please. Thank you
Twice I've tried to make an online purchase. In each instance I was deceived about the availability. Once the internet said "Ready for pickup", I made a trip to the store but was told that that doesn't mean anything until I get a phone call--something what was not previously made known to me. In the other instance, the availability date was repeated pushed back and my order was delayed. The frustration of dealing with terrible customer service and incompetence forced me to cancel my orders in both instances. Don't expect to get your order filled without repeated frustration, delay and incompetent service. Worst customer experience by far.
This place gets no rating from me!!! We just recently purchased lumber to redo a deck. We paid for premium lumber but was delivered standard lumber. It wasn't until after we were almost done with the floor of the deck when we had some boards that were not usable. We returned them with just a little hassle but when we got the boards home we noticed that the ones they delivered said standard and the new ones said premium....same ticket number. That got us thinking!... So here we were charged almost 9 dollars for boards that were 5 dollars..WHAT THE HELL! So the manager said he would give me the difference back and we keep the crap or he would deliver new ones and take back the old ones and I said only if he was sending someone over to remove what we put down...Of course he said we could keep what was down and said he would hand pick new boards...Guess what? They sent 36 new boards of that 21 WERE STAMPED STANDARD can not these people read or what. So here we still are waiting for new boards. This project is now 4 days longer than it should have been and my time and labor is worth more than what they will compensate...I have no faith in Lowes being able to handle any home improvement job, this used to be my favorite store....what a shame ....Furthermore I think Lowes needs to check the supplier and see why they are putting the wrong tags on their lumber...How many other people have you screwed Lowes? The I'm really sorry just doesn't cut it for me...Good luck to anyone on your home improvement job just make sure you check out Home Depot!
Why do one have to go threw so much to get a store transfer if he/she lives much closer to where ever he or she is currently working .Lowes gives you the run around in make it nearly impossible
You should have a rating of no stars. I spent over $20,000 to have 5 rental town houses in Conway SC installed with new laminate wood floors and carpet . It was my worse nightmare from the first to the very last. Between my son , my brother a friend and myself we own 12 townhouses and our plan was to have them all re done with new floors as our tenants move out. We had one done in November, they really screwed that one up. Then there were 3 more to be done in December and then the 5th one June 6.2012. It is to long a story to tell but there was nothing they didn't screw up. The first one was with the installer and the flawed product. The other three were all short in their orders, damaged goods and false promises that the last one in June would be correct. All lies , not only did they short me 5 cases of the laminate, they shipped me back everything I returned as damaged from the first 3 orders. They gave me $300 back on the flooring I didn't receive and thought that made everything ok. They are a joke. I signed a release in order to get the $300 and then they refused to give me a copy of what I signed. Customer service called as a follow up I explained the whole story, she saidshe would call me back in a couple of days it has now been 12 days, no call, I guess they don't even know what a couple is. I am going to write the CEO, District Manager, District Install Manager, I guarantee you no one will call me back. I guess they make so much money they don't need to keep customers happy. That's ok with me, word of month go's a long way. Anyway go to Home Depot or your local flooring store. JUST DON"T GO TO LOWE's. for anything. They are not about customer service.
I am so shock by the way some of the manager at Lowe's in Hurst, Texas are treating the foreining people. They are prejudice and they make no effort to hide it. A manager in the Lumber Dept. has refused to help me or my husband just because we are dark skin and from Israel. I have complained to the manager and had sent my complain to the headquater but, they don't care. Their attitude is " If you don't like, go back to where you came from"
I shopped at the Houma LA store today, and as usual I was very disappointed in the service. The only reason I go to Lowes is the products are good and fairly priced. The service is horrible. I was in there with my 73 year old father to buy 40 large stones for a project. We asked when we got there if there was anyone who could help us load them. The cashier in the garden department looked at us and promptly said, "No!". We loaded the bricks ourselves. Then when we went to check out, the same cashier said, "oh, you could have loaded them in another area. I could have gotten someone to help you." She called for someone to help us load them into my truck. A woman, who was supposedly the manager of the garden center, showed nothing but attitude the entire time she loaded them into the truck. As usual, I was very disappointed in the service. I know that not all Lowes stores are like this one. The store in Jacksonville and Little Rock Arkansas are wonderful stores with the most helpful staff around. I truely wish our store could get its act together.
I saw a picture of your American Flag doormats on www.snopes.com. I read the comments from Lowe's and Mohawk about the 'patriotic design' that was not an American Flag. HOGWASH! That design has red and white stripes. It has a blue background with white stars. It contains all the design elements of our American Flag. Lowe's, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES! You owe American citizens a very public apology. You need to send a letter of apology to every VFW and American Legion Post, and Vetern's organization in the USA. I don't care how many other good works you have done. This shameful act cancels out every one of them. Hang your heads low. Lay face down in the dirt and let 'real' American veterans walk on your backs.
I was denied a Veteran's discount (10%) because my Veteran's ID was not on their approved list of acceptable ID's. I showed a U. S. Navy issued DD-217-N which states that it is proof of active duty in the U. S. Navy along with my state issued driver's license with photo as proof of my ID. This form of proof of service is acceptable at Home Depot, so I will take my business there from now on. Lowes has a policy of granting this discount to the military and veterans, but apparently the vereran must have a new type of identification card that was never given to those of us who served in Viet Nam. Shame on Lowes for this behavior!
I purchased a washing machine from Lowe's in Hannibal, Missouri. The delivery men did not tighten the water connection hoses properly, resulting in a large amount of water to collect on the floor. Almost half of the laundry room floor was covered in water. One wall is old barn siding. Two other walls are concrete and the third is wall board with trim. The water soaked up 8" on the barn siding. I made a phone call to report what had happened. No call back. I telephoned again the next day at 9:30 a.m. I received a call back around 4:30 p.m. The drivers stated I had wall board behind the washer and dryer, with water damage 3 feet up the wall board. There is NO wall board behind the washer and dryer. They also stated there was water on the floor when they were installing the washer. One of the water hoses had a small water leak, but I had it draining into the water pipe. NO WATER on the floor, until they pulled it out from the drain pipe and let it hang.... LIARS LIARS LIARS!!!! This was an expensive machine. Tom the manager that called me treated me like I was lying. Oh and his manager said Tom could issue me a 10% refund of the purchase price. Oh wonderful! That makes everything ALL better. The huge shop vac, all the dry towels used to soak of the water, two days with the fan blowing on high and the water damage. Thanks John and Birney for your great show of character. Your all three LIARS!!!
Lowe's customer service sucks, no one knows who can help who and then you end up not getting any help.... not even from corporate... Need customer training across the board
I was hired by lowes hilliard ohio the columbus west store at mill run in ohio in march 2012 as a seasonal associate.I had my orientation at the dublin ohio store. I was told i was being hired for most of the summer season going through the july fourth season and perhaps into august. I was hired and told by hr to go to my area and start working the area associates would show me what to do. It was assembly of things sold during the summer season. I worked hard through breaks lunch etc to meet the demands the sales required. I set goals for myself to prove i could do more than anyone ever. Being a trades instructor and supervisor for 35 years i have a good work ethic no matter the pay scale. I never knew who my supervisor was or never knew if i met any set standards. I just knew by older asscociates i was really doing a good job even though management couldnt say it to me. Then come june i was told i had one week left they were letting me go but i could apply for any positions online. I did and was interviwed for several different jobs.I was told i had a really good chance for tool world since my background as a toolmaker and machinist would make me a good sales person in that area.I had on interview and was promised a second. Weeks went by and i also applied for other jobs to this day says being considerd online. I made several calls and stoped in to see hr and was given excuses that the mod was on vacation and would be emailed about the interviews. I really wanted to work for lowes and have been given the run around. Right now im working for sears in hardware so far as i know they are glad to have me. Lowes evidently promises and never follows through. I was told the lowes manager joan didnt like me and she hid in the distance when she had a mod tell me she was letting me go. I was found without my vest on the sale floor when i was taking grills of the shelf for assembly. I was told by a fellow associate not to wear your vest when obtaining merchandise so as not to hurt the assembly numbers, even though ny vest said customer service and was taught customer service was number one. I guess not so in the assembly area. I applied for about 10 different opennings and even with my past experience of building houses and being a machinist i was turned down without no one contacting me. I just seen they hired someone and i had to go online to see i was turned down. The manager or hr had no moral or ethical standards to tell me i was turned down. All i know is people working there are scared of the manager are lowes west store number 37. i since heard stories abd unfair situations. She came to me and said i want your vest and keys to the assembly cabinet turned into the mod friday ok. No thanks no im sorry just get the hell out of my way. i was hurt and all around me hear this story lowes becomes there last choice to shop. Eveyone know im a moral person with a excellent 40 year work record with awards for exceeding expectations. This is the first place i worked in 40 years that treated people like crap.
